“My boyfriend, our dog and I had a lovely one night stay in the hut on the hill. Chris very kindly lit the fire ready for us so the hut was cosy when we arrived. The stove kept us nice and warm all night. The location was perfect with just a short walk in to Cheddar town which lots of restaurants, shops and pubs. Chris was very helpful and gave lots of local tips. The hut had everything we needed, the games provided were a lovely touch. Great value for money, I would definitely recommend the hut on the hill.”
Enchanting, welcoming period cottage in an elevated location near the heart of the iconic Cheddar Gorge, within the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in north Somerset. A beautifully appointed 200 year old cottage carefully renovated to provide a balance of period features and some modern touches. With a generous kitchen/dining area, a large sitting room with wood burner downstairs, and two double bedrooms and family bathroom upstairs, there's plenty of space for four.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The communication from Dave and Dawn was clear and concise making checking in a simple stress free process. Parking was literally just down the road and the cottage was perfect. The location was spot on with a two minute walk to some of the local shops/ restaurants. The cottage had everything you could ask for and was very homely. We will be returning in the future. Excellent!”

“We stayed 4 nights at the Gorge View Cottage and it was such a great little escape. The cottage is perfectly located in Cheddar village, just 20 minutes drive from Bristol airport which was a big plus for us. The cottage is perfect for any time of the year. It is comfortable and warm inside and we used the fireplace every day, not because it was cold (the cottage has underfloor heating), but because it was even cosier. Every thing was spotless and clean and you will find all the amenities you need. It has pubs, restaurants and shops in walking distance, but it is still a very quiet place. The cottage has a vegetable garden which is just a lovely addition to the whole surrounding. I have no hesitations recommending this place and I would love to come back again with more time to explore the area. Thank you Huw and Mary for your hospitality!”
