Historically Gilleleje is an old fishing village and it was here that many Jews were transported to Sweden during World War II. Gilleleje Church was a waiting place for Jews until they could be transported. In 1943, 75 Jews were caught by the Gestapo on the church ceiling after a snitch had informed the Germans. Everywhere there are monuments of historical events. Every year there are various festivals in Gilleleje - "Hill" Festival, Harbour Festival, Jazz at the port and The Herring Day. Here you sleep good dinner naps and sip coffee in the shade🌳🌞 The house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet summerhouse neighborhood. The garden is a natural plot with old trees. The creek runs along the garden. Follow it for a cozy trip of about 900 meters - and you are on Rågeleje's beautiful beach.
