Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture is a place rich in nature.In recent years, young generations have migrated in search of good access to Kyoto and the richness of nature.It is a 5-10 minute drive from our place, and there are plenty of spots to enjoy nature throughout the four seasons, such as Lake Biwa play spots, agricultural experience park Makino Pickland, Makino Kogen Ski Resort, and more! In the inn, we have a room with amenities based on what we can do to be able to stay with peace of mind. I hope you can rest a little at our inn on a hard day that you can't keep an eye on your children.

This is a private lodging [Kokoro]. This is a private house limited to one group per day, where you can experience the rich nature of Shiga prefecture and enjoy rural life. It is about an hour's drive from downtown Kyoto, about 20 minutes by bus from JR Kokusai Line Azumigawa Station, or about 10 minutes by taxi. It is a quiet place and is fully equipped with WiFi, so please use it as a workcation. Ideal for those considering moving from the city center or trying out living☆ A BBQ set is also available for rent. Please be careful about making noise, and enjoy BBQ with everyone. We also rent BBQ equipment for a fee, so please let us know. Free parking is available on site. Parking is available for up to 3 vehicles. As such a place, we renovated a row house left by our ancestors and opened it as the Daiji, a soy sauce shop that had closed. You are always welcome! Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
