Nishimura-Tei Hanare ― 100-year-old traditional house with kitchen & dining

Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

In addition to a washing machine, the house is also equipped with a gas dryer, so you can do laundry without any problems, whether you're staying for one night or a long time. This house also has a free parking lot, which is rare for large cars in this area. Family Mart and Welcia are a 3-minute walk away, making shopping convenient. You can also walk to the city and Nara Park. * Please be respectful of late night noise as it is a quiet residential neighborhood.

A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!

In the well-fitted kitchen, guests will find a stovetop, a refrigerator, a microwave and kitchenware. The house offers a washing machine, along with a balcony.

There are many convenience stores and restaurants in the surrounding area. The building is old but has been renovated in a modern style. There is also floor heating on the first floor, and all rooms are air-conditioned. Comfortable even in winter. There is a parking space for one car on the adjacent lot.

Our guesthouse is located in the old town called Nara-machi. There used to be many traditional wooden townhouses known as Machiya. We restored Machiya while keeping the original structure in order to provide you with a traditional Japanese experience with local atmosphere.This house is for only private use and has only one floor with Japanese style room, shower room, washroom, sink and small garden.
