Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

Our authentic stone house is a haven of peace nestled in the heart of the green Ardèche. A centuries-old farmhouse, it offers an exceptional natural setting, its view of the valley and its two small lakes. The house comfortably accommodates 12 people with all the amenities for an unforgettable family stay. Enjoy great river swimming spots nearby and walks in this natural setting. On the garden level of our house (We live on the first floor) discover a small independent cocoon bathed in calm and greenery, for a peaceful break. The 1 st accommodation is equipped with 1 bedroom with 1 bed of 1.60, 1 living room with sofa bed, a bathroom, 1 summer kitchen, and 1 swimming pool. The small chalet is 10 metres from the house, it includes: 1 double bed, 1 bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, 1 terrace.

The "Les Pierres Hautes" gîte is an independent accommodation adjoining our house: an old rehabilitated stone barn. The green environment is quiet: the property has a lavender field as well as more than 50 olive trees. An external staircase provides access to the cottage.
