“Very difficult to put into words how lovely this place really is. The sound of the stream, wildlife and my partner making coffee in the morning. Heaven. We arrived in August to find an immaculate and very modern interior right by the stream and to be welcomed by the lovely Jacqui who welcomed us into her home. Jacqui is full of information and stories about the place. She makes sure you have plenty of supplies and is wonderful company. You are only 100 yards from the canal and very close to the river usk where wild swimming is a must (although your own private stream needs to be explored). What a fabulous week! If you are not sure weather to book this place, do it! You will miss a slice of heaven if you dont! Thank you Jacqui and john x”
The School Annex is bike and walker friendly with the Taff Trail right on its doorstep. Talybont-on-Usk is a great hub for exploring the Brecon Beacons: walking, cycling, stunning scenery & incredible star gazing right on your doorstep. A detached self-catering holiday cottage, next to the owners home, it's ideal for long weekends, short breaks or longer stays. Whether you aim for the mountains or just want to relax & enjoy the views, you may find 2 nights isn't quite long enough - just saying!
“Located in a stunning part of the Brecon Beacons, the school annex is a tranquil retreat perfectly positioned to exploit the best of the area. We enjoyed walks a plenty and really fun local bike rides. With a canal, pub and local shop all within a few minutes walk from the doorstep it made the week very enjoyable indeed. It was lovely sitting out on the patio in the evening with a glass of wine listening to the sounds of the countryside and spotting some stunning birds and wildlife. The term super host was created for Clare and Mike who’s professional approach to Air bnbing is hugely enhanced by all their personal and thoughtful touches. The annex itself is quirky and fun yet everything you need and more for a family getaway. Our boys loved the bunk beds and having their own toilet, they also enjoyed playing darts in the kitchen and saying hello to the ponies in the field opposite. We loved the area and will definitely be looking to stay in the annex again in the future. Thanks again Clare and Mike for a fantastic and safe getaway during these strange times.”

Flexible sleeping arrangements. Cosy nights in front of the wood burner with friends or family. A peaceful and calming place to read, play the piano, listen to music, sing, cook with adventures from the doorstep or just do nothing !
“Let me start by saying you will never regret choosing to stay here, the chapel is amazing. Beautiful, cozy, warm, comfortable and with everything you could require. We cooked every night and the kitchen had all the equipment I required. It's wonderfully open plan, so that you are 'together' even when busy doing other stuff. The sofa's are so comfy and just gorgeous to snuggle down on and read or watch TV in front of the log burner. The bedroom was super comfy, and it was SO quiet at night time. The two pubs close by were very welcoming and friendly and also very inexpensive which is always a bonus. The chapel is ideally located for many things to visit and do. I cannot recommend this more highly, in fact, I am jealous and want to go straight back!”
