Nearby multiple wilderness areas, superb mountain stream fishing, small lake fishing, swimming area & beach, wildlife management areas & miles of trails offer tons of natural amenities and outdoor opportunities.

The Haven on The Virginia Creeper Trail

Located on the Virginia Creeper bike trail, we are only a 20 min. drive from the summit of beautiful Whitetop Mtn. If hiking and biking are your thing, this is the place to stay, as we are 3 miles from the Appalachian Trail, and a 20 min. drive to Grayson Highlands state park. Downtown Damascus is a 25 min. drive, and Abingdon is 40 minutes. Both towns have cute shops, restaurants, coffee, parks, and antique stores. Bristol is located approx. 50 min. from our home, and Boone, NC about an hour.

The Starlite

The Starlite at Ruakh is a private luxury geodesic dome tucked along the edge of the woods on our 87-acre farm in Tazewell County, Virginia. Designed for quiet getaways, slow mornings, clear night skies, and time by the fire, this 500-square-foot dome blends the comfort of a thoughtfully finished stay with the feeling of being close to the land. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to camp. We have 60 acres of mountainous land with hiking trails and great views. Perfect for family time, bonfires, relaxing, hiking, biking and picnics. Bring your own hammock or find one of ours up in the trails! Very peaceful area close to Damascus (20min) Whitetop mountain (30min) and Grayson Highlands State Park (40min). Private fire pit, picnic table and charcoal grill (Charcoal provided). Outdoor natural spring shower. Pet friendly.
