Places to stay in Orlean
This generational property is nestled in the beautiful Virginia Shenandoah Valley. Less than an hour's drive from Washington, DC and equidistant to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you can enjoy the peace and serenity of rural Fauquier County, VA. Whether you’re in need of a weekend retreat from the city, on business, or visiting one of the many local tourist destinations, we have small bedroom spaces as well as an entire updated apartment available depending on your needs.
We aren’t just any ol’ AirBnB. We don’t just provide a place to sleep, but a pace to feel carried away and refreshed. My spaces are made with one end in mind – to help people get out of routine and feel restored and alive again. We welcome you to historic Fauquier County, Virginia and whether you’re visiting on business, seeing friends or family, or trying out various local wineries, we want you to feel inspired by local culture while relaxing in our family home of four generations. Fletcherville is a property offering spaces for any occasion. We want to create positive experiences from first impressions to the memories we help create. The house was built my my Great Grandparents in the early 1960’s. I took my first steps in the house, and learned to ride my bike just outside the front porch. We are currently making a lot of major improvements, updating and adding necessary modern amenities to facilitate an intuitive, safe, and business-friendly environment, so please be patient with us. We have a lot of work to do, but in the next few years, we will have an entire house for you to enjoy. The Huntsman's Quarters is a small, moderately-equipped room with two twin-sized beds intended for shorter stays. Guests enter through a private front entrance and enjoy their own bedroom and bathroom with shower. Room appointments include 43" flatscreen 4K UHD smart TV with Apple TV for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video; a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary drinks; Keurig Machine; small microwave and an assortment of snacks, and toiletries as might be needed. If you plan on staying longer, please check out my other Fletcherville ( The Country Cottage) listing that is equipped with kitchen, living, and dining areas - all private for you alone. During the third week of March 2020, this space will be closed for guests as I necessary updates . I am hoping to have more of a space for eating as well as more outdoor seating areas for relaxation. I will provide more details as these changes are made. I am preparing to renovate the crazy (some say nostalgic) pink bathroom. We are looking at June as the month for the update. My elderly mother and grandmother live in the common areas, but your areas are completely separated and sealed off. Your privacy is of utmost importance. Parking is just outside. If you have mobility issues, or any further questions, I respond here promptly.
We are a quiet neighborhood or either young professionals or retirees. I’ve known most of my neighbors for years. People are very friendly - we all look out for one another.
  • Randolph's Air B&B was great! It was a perfect set up for my daughter and I traveling to Warrenton for a shower with the twin beds. The bedroom was nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable with quality bedding. Coffee/tea and several snacks were nicely presented along w a variety of cold drinks. Private entrance and private bathroom all a nice bonus. All areas were very neat and clean. The house is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Randolph was great with communication and replied promptly when I had a question. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Awesome hospitality - attentive and flexible. The space is quiet, clean, comfortable, stylish, and relaxing. Very nice selection of snacks, coffee, tea, beverages, scones and chocolates. I definitely plan to stay again when I’m in the Warrenton area again. Thanks!

    Pamela2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, isolated home away from the hustle of Washington, DC. I don't think I've ever seen bed covers as cushy/soft as those - felt that I was going to sink right in when I sat down. Was a bit surprised that the bedroom had two single beds instead of a queen bed. A good place to stay when you want to get away from it all.

    Tyler2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were blown away by how wonderful this stay. He truly thought of everything we could need. The room was so clean and the bathroom was as well. We hope to be back very soon!

Whether you’re in need of a weekend retreat from the city, on business, or visiting one of the many local tourist destinations, we have small bedroom spaces as well as an entire updated apartment available depending on your needs.
This space is currently being renovated. First bookings can be made in June. This basement apartment space includes a brand new kitchen, comfortable dining room, living room with wood-burning fireplace, and large bathroom with glass shower. Two fold out twin-sized beds are available for use with additional guests along with a fold-out sleeper sofa in the living room space. All together, this space can comfortably sleep 4 (6 when using the fold out twin beds). My goal is to provide updated, clean amenities, but to also help the guest feel as if they walked into a nostalgic space. I use a combination of old and new to create an ambiance.

  • We had a super comfortable stay and liked the proximity to Skyline Drive.

    Yasir2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, huge house in the woods to the north of the Shenandoah park. This was a great space to rest in after a long day on the skyline drive!

    Alex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very reasonable, spacious place that is exceptionally comfortable. We only had a short visit, but it was great to unwind after a busy day and rest up for the following day. Very close to shops in Marshall and Sky Meadows State Park, among many other places. We would gladly return in the future.

    Steve2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were responsive and accommodating. Private basement room is clean and comfortable.

    Salvatore2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Alana’s and Lester’s place! The space was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. We felt right at home. There were also tons of board games and books and a nice living room space to relax. We live on a long dirt road, so the drive to their charming house very familiar. Drive slowly on Cobble Lane and you’ll be fine, you might even see some wildlife grazing! We definitely recommend!

This is a private apartment located within the house. Main door to house is accessible 24/7. One flight of interior stairs to access apartment. Plenty of off street free parking is available behind the house. Bed is Queen size.
  • What a charming old home in such a fun town. The apartment is bright and very cheery in a safe environment. Everything was there for you to live comfortable while away from home, including washer and dryer downstairs. Could easily walk to restaurants on Main Street, very centrally located to every major road. All communication was prompt and any issues, questions or concerns were answered with respect, and quick turnaround.

    Heidi2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet vintage spot in old town.

  • Bob’s place is perfect for a weekend getaway. The apartment was in a fabulous location within walking distance of restaurants and cafes, and we appreciated the cleanliness and thoughtfulness of the apartment. Would definitely visit again!

    Elyse2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bob’s place was very cozy, clean, and comfy. I appreciated the small, thoughtful touches like a singular makeup remover pad and breakfast in the fridge! The bed was comfy and it was close to where I was attending a wedding. If I were in the area again, I would definitely stay here!

    Hilary2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming older home -- and everything works! Bed is superb, TV, bathroom, frig, water, AC, heat -- Just everything works! (Very important when traveling!) Even a little breakfast for the first morning. There is a flight of stairs up to the apartment, so keep that in mind in case that would be an issue you. Very quiet, easy parking, washer/dryer in the basement (coin-operated). My home town -- so nice! Thanks, Bob!!

    Yvette2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spacious, comfortable apartment which was perfect for our one night stay. Bob kindly left toiletries in the bathroom, chocolates by the bed, and breakfast in the kitchen to make life easier and more pleasant. The unit is well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. Communication with Bob was efficient and the check-in procedure was easy with a lockbox on the door. Bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend Bob’s Airbnb.

  • Great space for us coming from a small wedding about 20 minutes away! Cute little spot and was a great little getaway.

    Maria2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to get off the grid and do some 'glamping'! The cabin was very warm and cozy with the heater going, and we appreciated having a kitchenette with running water to cook breakfast. With chilly winter nights and freezing temperatures, the hosts were responsive in dealing with how those temperatures affected the shared bathroom. Once things thawed, the hot shower was a wonderful way to wind down after a day exploring the Shenandoahs!

Unplug from city life and venture out to our small organic farm. Spend a night or two in the private guest cottage while enjoying nearby vineyards and restaurants. Spend the day browsing in the local antique shops or relax on the farm and watch nature's display (butterflies, birds, an occasional critter.) We may be working in the garden or putting up hay while you are there. We're always glad to share a bit of the harvest when the vegetables are ripe, so you can take some home to enjoy.
Cell phones work, but there's no internet. We have books, games, puzzles, a VCR and some movies.
So many fun vineyards within a short drive. (Our favorites include Barrel Oak, Rappahannock and Pearmund). Good restaurants abound! Ask us for recommendations. There's even a tea room in The Plains.
  • The cottage on the farm is a beautiful, quiet, respite. It has nice decorative touches, comfy bed, clean, great light, great shower, etc. There was nothing I wanted or was missing; they thought of everything. It is a great place to unplug. The breakfast included exceeded my expectations. My two dogs loved running, supervised, on the farm. It is a perfect place for one or two people. It is close by (25 min) good restaurants, hiking at Sky Meadow park, etc. Sandy and her husband are great hosts. It was easy to communicate with them. They provided good recommendation and clearly answered my questions. I look forward to returning. What joy!

    Susan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay. Everything you need, and very clean.

    John2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing private cottage located on a beautiful farm. Sandy’s place is a perfect get-away in a perfect setting to relax, unwind and get away from it all. The amenities are great, the kitchen is fully functional and the shower is especially nice. I highly recommend if you are trying to unplug and recharge.

    James2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying here. The place was clean and cozy! The shower was like being in a spa. We loved the treats left for us...we were able to make a delicious homemade breakfast! We will definitely look to stay here again next time we visit the area!

    Kim2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great location for a quick weekend getaway.

    Adam2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect, very close to DC but once you get there, you feel like you're a world away. Fully stocked kitchen, the fire pit was great, and watching movies on a VCR is a real game-changer. Can't wait to come back!

    Philip2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend and place was great. Sandy and Louie were amazing hosts and went the extra mile to make the stay more comfortable. Highly recommend taking a weekend to recharge here

    Dunson2019-12-22T00:00:00Z

At the end of the road in the country. Very private with lots of trails to walk. Joy & Rich are in the main house. The cottage has a front porch, back porch and patio, all private from the main house. Far from any roads it is above all, peaceful. You are free to wander around 150 acres, sit by the pond or the fire pit on the back patio. This is wine country, horse country and hiking country. Great taverns and restaurants are scattered in the small towns around us. Every season is unique.
Smoking is allowed outside on the porches, pets may be considered with prior coordination
  • An outstanding house, property, and hosts! Excellent for a weekend getaway or longer stay also. The perfect amount of peace and quiet balanced with close proximity to hunt country’s cute towns, great food, and good wine.

  • The rare Airbnb that exceeds expectations! Richard and Joy's place was the perfect escape from city life. The furnishings were comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked for whatever you might want to cook, toiletries in the bathroom, everything perfectly clean... it's up there with the best Airbnbs I've stayed in. Even better than the photos suggest! Definitely a stay we would love to be able to return to! Can't think of a single negative thing to share.

A uniquely tasteful yet whimsical, completely renovated chicken coop. Meant for getting back to you.
You will have access to one and thirty acres of fields, woods, a good size pond if you desire to fish, trails to the Rappahanock River following in the footsteps of many two and four legged before you.
We are close to several wineries, Blue Ridge Mountains, Skyline Drive, caverns, restaurant’s ranging from five star to diner.
  • Le Poulet is just as pictured and sits on a wonderful property with easily accessible trails. It's a relaxing escape, with thoughtful touches and we highly recommend! Thanks Jim & Cheri !

  • What an absolute gem. We loved every moment of staying here and can’t begin to explain how much we appreciated the quiet time and outdoors. If you’re looking for an unplugged weekend to just kick back and enjoy some time away, this is definitely the place to do it. Our dog Millie loved the freedom of roaming the entire property and getting a break from city life. This little chicken coop is adorably decorated and you can tell lots of love went into it. The chickens, donkeys and dogs were just an added plus to our time here.

    Megan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to stay to get away from the bustling city life for a relaxing escape. Thank you Jim!

    Erik2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Le Poulet Palace is a charming, cozy escape. Close to some wonderful local businesses, amazing hiking trails, and with truly phenomenal hosts, this little home is a treasure. We’re sure to return again.

    Alex2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second visit to this beautiful farm! We loved it so much the first time we had to return. It’s so close to the DC área, but such an oasis from the hustle. My husband and I slept late, ate fresh farm eggs and enjoyed the quiet views. And our dog absolutely loves to run free all over the farm. It is such a great way to escape the city. We will definitely be returning soon!

    Kristin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Le poulet perfected the rustic farmhouse style in a remodeled chicken coop. The attention to detail in the decor and thoughtful architecture made for a functional tiny house in the middle of a perfectly manicured landscape. Le poulet had everything we needed and more. We especially enjoyed waking up to fresh eggs and ending the night stargazing on the porch. What made for our stay to be truly magical was being able to share it with our pup Luna. Luna loved walks around the pond and became obsessed with the donkeys. If you're looking for a weekend getaway in a peaceful location that's close to the DMV- this is the place for you!

    Estefania2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The coop was an amazing getaway. We brought our pup who loved roaming the grounds and watching the donkeys and chickens. Beautiful scenery to complement the quaint and cozy chicken coop. We would love to come back during the summer and do more exploring. Highly recommended.

  • The Poulet Palace was a cozy get-away spot - the loft was perfect for my 7yr old to "camp up." Jim & Cheri were gracious hosts. The donkeys and chickens were excellent neighbors.

  • A very nice, clean and quiet getaway.

    Mike2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place is not only very clean and well apportioned, but also offered gorgeous views. Our only regret is that we did not have time to enjoy the space more, including the gigantic bath tub!

    Michael2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely gorgeous. A bit rural, but that was part of the appeal - a nice weekend getaway in horse and wine country. Susan’s directions were extremely accurate. Great amenities, super stylish, the double shower heads were amazing. Susan was a lovely host and very friendly and easy to communicate with. Note that wineries close semi early and there are no uber or taxi services nearby, so that may affect your plans as someone needs to be DD! I would absolutely stay here again :)

  • The owners were super accommodating given my last minute request for a stay, due to our house being work on, and power and water were not going to be restored for the night. The apartment was very clean and modern. Loved the bathroom! Will definitely be recommending this place for friends and family that come to visit, much nicer than any hotel, and with a beautiful pool, and in a peaceful farmette setting with no traffic noise.

Once you drive up the driveway, come around to the main entrance! Plenty of private parking! Secluded location about an hour to drive to Washington, D.C. with exciting museums on the 'Mall' between the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol. Skyline Drive in the Appalachian Mountains with stunning views is about 40 minutes away. We have a second listing under 'House in the Woods, red room'.
The house cannot be seen from the road and is very secluded. There is a Keurig in the room to have coffee and tea whenever you want to as well as a desk. The closet is large and has shelves for sweater, shoes, whatever. The private bathroom has a shower, a hair dryer, shampoo, and conditioner.
This is a very quiet neighborhood and it is located in Rixeyville, Virginia, United States. The house is located between Warrenton and Culpeper in a very rural and woody area, very relaxing. They made sure we had any and everything we would have needed and were always quick to message us back the few times we messaged them.. I had forgot to pack shampoo and was pleased to see they had plenty of different kinds to choose from. If you are in the Warrenton area, I highly recommend staying here!

Spacious bedroom with super comfy Queen bed in single family home in a quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance of lovely Old Town Warrenton. Come out for a parade, the Gold Cup, or the Wine Trail. Full bath is shared but there are several other half baths in the home. Breakfast upon request if I'm home! Coffee and tea anytime. One shy cat shares the house. I keep him out of the guest room and he doesn’t have any bad habits. Besides being a cat that is. Second bedroom if needed - ask host.
Retro-lover's home! The home has been maintained but not "remodeled," so it is reminiscent of a simpler time. Quite relaxing. No TV but there is a DVD /CD player and a radio. I welcome respectful guests to share the kitchen and other common areas.
Nice residential neighborhood in a small town. One can walk to most parts of this town.

  • The Sooner House is clean and cozy. My family had a lovely time, and my daughters gave it ten thumbs up.

    John2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's place was wonderful. It has a small but cute living and kitchen area and was plenty of space for everyone to chill over the weekend. The record player was fun to add a little bit of flair to our night as well as a bottle of wine Ann left for us in the kitchen. Ann's place was comfortable and clean and I would certainly go back if I was in the area again. Thanks Ann!

    Kieran2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Soper House. Ann let us know in advance what we could expect in the kitchen (thank you for home-fresh eggs! Local Wine, butter, coffee, tea and more.) Full-size washer & dryer...dishwasher... 💕 The bedrooms are lovely and the bed, comfortable. Great internet connection. Had it been better weather (sorry, Ann cannot yet control that!) we could have grilled and enjoyed the lovely grounds. We will return!!

    Sharon2020-02-08T00:00:00Z

    Manuel2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean house, and even more polite hosts! House was amazing and did great for us, thank you!

    Matthew2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Soper House in Warrenton was a real treat. Ann has carefully thought out so many great things including the 3 furnished bedrooms, the bright and cheery bathroom, living room, and eat in kitchen that comfortably seats 4. The washer and dryer are located in a large annex on the side of the house that was perfect for my yoga mat too. The kitchen has all you could want plus more including many condiments, toaster, microwave, etc., etc. The cottage is situated on a gorgeous piece of land that we could only admire from the large windows because of the cold and healthy amount of snow on the ground. I very much would enjoy coming back to enjoy the back patio, fire pit, outdoor seating areas, and outdoor dining areas. What a real find just a short drive from DC.

  • Joerg's home is the perfect location for anyone in the Warrenton and Culpeper area. Nearby sights, including Skyline drive and Luray Caverns, you will not have to travel far. When you're not sight-seeing, you will find the home is very tidy, accommodating, and the hosts are quick to respond to any questions. Both of our dogs were able to get plenty of exercise in the large, secluded yard. The scenery and hospitality made us feel at ease. My family highly recommends this location!

    James2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place had a well-equipped, large kitchen and dining area just for guests. Plenty of space to prepare food and eat, tables to spread out on, a deck with tables and chairs, and a comfy sofa lounging area just for guests. Lots of books in German! Joerg was very kind and friendly on the phone, and we had no trouble getting into the home. Joerg and his wife were on vacation when we were there. There was another couple who were guests along with us. The kitchen area offered a bit of conviviality with the other couple. It is really the perfect home for an airbnb.

    Julie2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! The wife and I were transitioning while we closed on our house. The couple was warm and inviting to all our needs. Will definitely come back!

  • Joerg and Karen have a lovely home and were very gracious to welcome me for a one night stay on my way home to NJ from Ashville, NC. I would have enjoyed staying an extra day to check out wineries. The room was spacious and comfortable.

    Ron2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional and fabulous experience! Karin and Joerg are wonderful hosts and people. We were very sad to leave, after the great time we had with them. Their house is lovely , the bedroom is comfortable and quiet, the private bathroom is well equipped. It's the perfect place to visit Shenandoah Park and other historic places around. We definitely would come back again, if we had the opportunity.

    Jose2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Joerg's home was great for me, my boy friend, and our dogs. There was plenty of space for us to walk and let the dogs run around. They even put a Keurig in our room for us. The home itself is beautiful and not too far from the cities, but still close enough to hear traffic from the main road. Even then, it doesn't worry me to let the dogs out.

    Linda2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing stay at Joerg's home in the beautiful hills of Virginia! We were impressed with the unique design of the home coupled with the efficient geothermal heating. • James's place is a great distance from DC for a weekend getaway. There are good restaurants in Warrenton and James makes it easy to cook with all the pots and pans you need if you want to stay in as well. Our dog loved checking out the cows and the fresh eggs for breakfast were great! It is a quiet and pretty property. Cheri gave us a nice tour of the property when we checked in and some good restaurant suggestions as well. Thanks, James and Cheri!

  • The view is more gorgeous than any photo you can imagine. Not too far from DC, this property offers you the remoteness needed for some peace and quiet. Beautiful deck overlooking the lake. You can access hiking trails if you desire. The best part is the farm animals - cows, donkeys, and chickens! Fresh eggs every more are the icing on the cake! We will definitely return :)

  • Great country cottage. Clean and comfortable and great location.

  • Our first Airb&b & Linda set the standards high! She provided so many extras and was very accommodating when we requested anything The cottage was attractive and very clean. I’d highly recommend it to others who want a wonderful atmosphere and a gracious host.

  • A wonderful and charming Airbnb!! Linda has decorated and maintained this home to be everything you hope to see in a historic home - all the original details and charm have been meticulously maintained and cared for, but it still has all the comforts of home. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway to the countryside. It’s close to Shenandoah National Park, and we were there on a clear fall night when you could see more stars than I’ve seen in years. Our only regret is not staying for more than one night. Thank you for providing wonderful hospitality and a space for a restful weekend with friends!

    Sarah2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is charming, packed with character, and in a lovely rustic setting. It's a short (5-10 min) drive to Warrenton, which has a main street with restaurants and shops. It's also convenient to wineries, and about a 40 minute drive to Shenandoah National Park/skyline drive. Linda was a great host, and left us thoughtful welcome presents- prosecco and pastries. The kitchen was also well-stocked and had complimentary tea and coffee. A great getaway!

  • Linda’s place is lovely, clean, and cozy. She added nice details (from a few food essentials to toiletries) that made the experience even better than expected. And check in and out was simple!

  • Loved staying in this amazing old house!

  • Chilton is a great B&B. So cozy, pretty, and central to lots of great food and fun shopping!

    Rachel2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A classic B&B experience. The caretaker James is full of gentle interest in hospitality for his guests. He welcomed us with a shot of Sherry or Port. He showed us our room, where everything was, how things worked in our room and in the common areas. This B&B has been in operation for approximately one year and the caretaker expresses by his actions the desire to make each guest a happy, repeat customer that will recommend staying there to friends and relatives if they are traveling to Warrenton VA. We left very happy. I will second a comment I saw about the Hearst room - it shares its bathroom with the neighboring room. This was totally a non-issue in our experience - we never had to go to the bathroom and found someone else was in it already.

  • The Chilton House is an authentically historic home in Old Town Warrenton with a fascinating history and the ease of booking through Airbnb. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants, it was a great spot for a weekend getaway. The most notable part is the innkeeper, James, and his thorough knowledge of the house, the family surrounding it, and the town. James gave us extensive recommendations of things to do not only in Warrenton but also in neighboring areas, from wineries to hikes to restaurants. He also prepares a lovely breakfast in the morning!

    Caroline2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Chilton House was an amazing experience! A true B&B with the ease of booking through Airbnb. The house and its grounds are beautiful and historic, with ties to one of Virginia's first families and the Hearst (of William Randolph Hearst fame). We were greeted by the mega gregarious innkeeper, James, who began our stay with a tipple of brandy, while sharing the fascinating history of the house and its renovation. The Hearst Room was spacious and comfortable (especially the bed!), with all the amenities. I urge any future guests to not be turned off by the shared bathroom, as it's really an en suite bathroom shared only with the room next door. So you're not walking down the hall in your bathrobe or anything. Breakfast was delicious as well, with James' famous homemade granola and yogurt, wonderful French toast, bacon, orange, coffee, tea... the whole nine. We felt at home the whole time. After a group hug with James, we left. But we definitely hope to come back soon.

  • Chilton was an unexpected gem of a B&B in downtown Warrenton with a welcoming, historic atmosphere. James (the innkeeper) made me feel at home and was very accommodating. James makes hot breakfast each morning, including delicious homemade granola. I stayed in the Hearst Room which was lovely. I highly recommend staying at Chilton.

Less than 60 seconds from the Interstate and also offers plenty of room to walk the dog. This 3.5 acre property allows easy access to the Washington Capital (DC) for site seeing and then escape to the country for relaxation. Virginia Gold Cup is around the corner. You are also within 1 mile of a walking park, dry cleaning, grocery, ABC liquor, & bank. Main St. Marshall offers several very nice bakeries and restaurants. Limited neighbors to distract you.
Lots of outdoor space and privacy. Come and go and you wish. Your own private driveway and house.
The neighbor across the street in the yellow house is very friendly. I am your neighbor across the pond. So enjoy your privacy and your comfort. You can ride your bike in the country or go into the "one light" town for some nice dining.
  • Excellent as always!

There also is a outdoor gas grill, fire pit and picnic table to enjoy a meal and view.

Our Sweetspot has many things to enjoy, such as a stocked pond, Kayaks, canoes, row boat, paddle board, rafts, & floating dock. In other areas we have various games, a 30 minute nature trail, a Pavilion, a poplar grove with grills, prep tables, picnic table, and a Volley ball Court. Arteisan Well, & a water fall to enjoy
  • Sweetspot was the perfect escape from DC. Location was beautiful and convenient. It’s a family run business and both Ed and Ewa took good care of us. Ed made sure we had everything we needed, he checked on us few times and helped us make the fire. It was wonderful to hear his family story and chat with him a little bit. Tiny house and bathroom are beautiful Everything is well decorated. We highly recommend this place and plan to bring friends back. It’s a perfect get away spot for friends and families.

The whole camp site is a good environment, with great recommendations by the hosts for good food, live music, and nature trails. Was also within close driving distance of Shenandoah, Harrisonburg, and some beautiful wineries. Would recommend to anyone- from serious campers to friends and families who want to camp but don't have the gear for tenting!

Second attached room is large and is furnished with a sofa, 42" Smart TV, desk, refrigerator, toaster oven, keurig, microwave. Main kitchen can be used to cook meals if necessary. Very large bedroom and private living room area w/kitchenette. Last renter said "reminds me of a small charming European studio apartment".
My home is within walking distance to Starbucks, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Fauquier hospital is 2.3 miles away.
  • Donna is a wonderful host. She is friendly and approachable, but let us have our space and privacy. The location is excellent, being close to Old Town Warrenton, restaurants, and supermarkets. Donna provided keys to our room and the front door. However, it was easier to just enter and exit through the garage. Parking is readily available just across the street from the house. The neighborhood is lovely, well-kept, and quiet. She did publish that there is a pet, and so guests need to be mindful of open doors and close them quickly so her cat will not run outside. The most appreciated amenity was having a full-size refrigerator, as well as a microwave and toaster oven. The room area is actually the size of two rooms with a bed area and a sitting area. Thanks, Donna!

  • We appreciated the history that comes with this house! Great property and the innkeeper was so accommodating and helpful down to every little detail. We'd stay here again, but next time in a room with a private bath (we shared a bathroom with the adjacent room and were locked out of it one night). Overall though, great experience and so close to everything!

  • This place made for a great stay! The room was very nice and spacious. Sharing a bathroom wasn’t a problem at all because no one had reserved the adjoining room while I was there. The TV was great and had all the apps you could want. The grounds are nice with a hammock and hot tub out back. Right in the midst of downtown Warrenton. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

We weren’t expecting the bathroom for the rooms we rented(the Blackwell room) to be detached from the room, but it was manageable! Bed and linens were clean and comfortable! The facility is fun to explore. Breakfast was phenomenal! Delicious yogurt parfait and eggs made to order. Hope to return!

  • Chilton House is located in the heart of horse country. We liked the friendly response to our every need while staying there. James fashioned a hardy breakfast and we liked the conversation with other guests. Restaurants and coffee shops abound in nooks and crannies of old town. The nearby Greenway trail provides a place to exercise, where once trains carried supplies through the deep green countryside.

Welcome to Stillwaters: 12 beautiful acres on peaceful Lake Athalon. The Cedar Room is perfect for couples or small families (including pets :) Hiking, Biking, History, Wineries, Simply RELAX. Retreat. Renew. Phenomenal stars. 45 miles from DC. Discounts for 3 or more nights.
We call our home Stillwaters. Turn onto Janes Lane and come down to our 12 acres on Lake Athalon. Designed and built by Jeff in the 80's, our living room has great beams and a high loft with a front wall of windows and french doors facing field and lake. Feel free to sit on the deck as you enjoy your continental breakfast (or fresh eggs made to order by "Chef Jeff"). Jeff designed the landscape too, planting willows on the lakeshore, an apple orchard on the west end and a circle of shade trees that we call The Sanctuary. Wander our two labyrinths, hang out in the hammocks, or float in our rowboat or canoe. Stillwaters is truly a beautiful place to rest. The nearest town, Marshall, has great pizza, good Chinese food, a diner (our favorite!) and even an artisan restaurant called Field and Main (see our guestbook). Our friends at Barrel Oak Winery (Brian) and Cobbler Mountain Cellars (Laura) will also make you feel right at home. History buffs will enjoy reading signs of events from Civil War times. Stillwaters is 45 miles from Washington, DC and just 40 minutes from Dulles International Airport (ask if you need pick up or drop off). Come! Explore Virginia country, re-connect, re-treat, and rest. We look forward to meeting you here at Stillwaters. Mary Shapiro and Jeff Wolf
Quite, private country road. The lake brings Great Blue Heron, a variety of hawks, fox, deer, geese, and migratory swans. The stars are phenomenal.
  • Mary & Jeff were great hosts! Mary was great in helping plan our stay, making sure we were able to arrive anytime we wanted. Mary & Jeff are very nice and interesting people to meet, and we can’t wait to stay with them again! The place was beautiful and cozy! They provided breakfast, coffee, etc which was awesome as well as great suggestions of places to go during our stay.

    Deb2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Geoff's place was so peaceful and unique, which is why we picked it in the first place. It definitely met our expectations and then some. The little details to the room, the beautiful property, and the breakfasts Mary laid out for us each morning were so special and made each day relaxing to wake up to and come back to. The whole communication process leading up to and throughout our stay was great! Mary was like talking to an old friend, she made the process so transparent and comfortable. Would definitely recommend! We hope to stay there again when we visit Virginia later this year.

  • My wife and I had a brief, short notice winter stay, and we could feel the rejuvenating, eclectic energy that Stillwaters puts out thanks to Mary and Jeff‘s hospitality. The room is large, and the bed very comfortable. We look forward to coming back.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time with Jeff and Mary. We were in the area for a Thanksgiving in Flint Hill and their place was a convenient 20 minute drive. They were great about having our dogs there, served a delicious continental breakfast and were generally warm and welcoming.

  • Stillwaters offered me exactly what I needed. A welcoming, music friendly space in which to retreat and focus. My room was very comfortable and quickly came to feel like home. The proximity to the entrance was great for coming and going without feeling like I was interrupting anyone. The hosts were warm and friendly. They were available to answer questions and readily provided me with the things I needed, including farm fresh eggs. At the same time, they were busy tending to their own business, giving the sense of privacy and seclusion while I enjoyed their home over the course of 5 days. I didn't get to spend much time enjoying the property due to the weather, but look forward to returning to sit by the lake and take in the sights and sounds in the spring. Thank you, Jeff and Mary, for sharing your peaceful home.

  • Lane's place is great if you want to get away and relax. It's a large house in a quiet location and everything was just as described/shown in the photos. Good communication and easy check in/out. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics if you're looking to cook. The bed was extremely comfortable (there are only net curtains, so expect to wake with the sun!) and the bathrooms were clean. Recommend and would stay again.

  • I've used AirBNB a few times and this was easily the best of the bunch. Absolutely beautiful house in the woods. It was quiet retreat and a great place for my family to get re-acquainted with one another. Highly recommended!

Large mountain house on 11 acres in the heart of Virginia Wine Country! Enjoy our beautiful home overlooking the Shenandoah Mountains with a large swimming pool & amazing sunsets! We are just a few miles away from Griffin's Tavern, the Flint Hill Public House restaurant on Main Street, numerous vineyards, the Inn at Little Washington, hiking trails, and Old Rag Mountain. Each season offers something new!
  • Nikki's place is, without exaggeration, epic. It's massive with beautiful finishes and views that take your breath away. Nikki was super helpful as we prepared for our girls weekend and very responsive to our questions. Everyone had a fabulous time and several said they would be considering the space for future getaways.

  • Breathtaking views and serenity 360 all around. Pictures don't do it justice. Had a great time during our stay. We had many plans and excursions in mind but the beauty of the place made us just stay in and enjoy our surroundings.

  • Our family just returned home from four outstanding days in this amazing mountain home. The house was extremely spacious and easily accommodated all seven of us with room to spare. Lounging in the salt water pool was a great way to spend the day and the views from the first and second floor decks are breathtaking. This home has everything you could possible need for an outstanding vacation or weekend get away. Thank you Nikki for being such a wonderful host, we look forward to returning for another visit.

  • This house is fabulous - even better than the pictures. There were 8 of us - 5 adults and children aged 5, 2 and 5 months. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around. Everything was clean and beautifully furnished. With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, everyone had privacy. The kitchen is very large, and the dining room table will seat 10 comfortably. The deck off of the main living area is huge with several rocking chairs and a large grill, in addition to shade from the deck above, and the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains were beautiful. Great sunsets. The deck was safe for the children. The pool is great!! There are plenty of lounge chairs and fun pool toys. The deck upstairs provides good shade for the pool area. There is a large butterfly bush next to the pool, and another one by the front entrance. Tons of butterflies! The doors from the basement to the pool area would be very difficult for a small child to open, but of course, you still need to be vigilant. The basement is newly remodeled and quite large. Our stay took place prior to it being furnished, but our grandkids had a ball just running around the room! Although you might feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, there are plenty of things to do (if you can tear yourself away from the pool). Front Royal has restaurants, microbreweries, and a great playground for the little ones. Sperryville is a cute little town with a good cafe for lunch. Flint Hill has a couple of very good restaurants for dinner. Skyline Caverns are just outside of Front Royal. Shenandoah National Park has endless hiking trails and breathtaking overlooks. Plus, it’s about 15 degrees cooler in the park than it is in the surrounding area. One recommendation: if you’re going in the summertime, take citronella candles, mosquito coils, bug spray....there are lots of mosquitoes! Otherwise, it was a terrific stay, and we’re looking forward to returning next summer.

  • This house made for the best long weekend with friends ever. Lounging around the gorgeous home with great furnishings and decor, floating all day in the lovely pool, and sitting on the porch in rockers each morning and dusk with the most epic view in VA! It was perfection.

  • Nikki’s home was a lovely spot for a serene getaway with family. The house was stunning, was a breathtaking view and a beautiful pool. It was comfortable and well appointed. Nikki was a fantastic host, and was very responsive. We can’t wait to return!

  • Nikki's house is the ultimate pool party house or relax and unwind house. My friends and I have been to her house twice now because of the amazing scenery and pool. The house has been recently upgraded and has everything you need for a great vacation. It's in a secluded spot, so it is peaceful and has a great view of the Virginia foothills, but there's also a nearby convenience store for those last minute items. I would highly recommend this home.

Wollam Gardens is an 11-acre specialty cut flower farm located 60 miles west of Washington D.C. and 30 miles east of Shenandoah National Park, in the small village of Jeffersonton, Virginia. We host guests in the second floor of our 18th-century farmhouse. We encourage guests to stroll the farm, lounge on the balcony, and interact with our team. We provide coffee, tea, and use of our kitchen space.
Relax on the porch, walk among the flowers, and observe the daily activities of a cut flower farm. Or just stay in the comfort of our house and use it as your gateway to our Nation's Capitol, Shenandoah Park, Luray Caverns, and local historic sites and vineyards. We have two guest bedrooms, which can be rented individually or together. THIS LISTING IS TO RENT ONE ROOM ONLY. See our other listings to rent the other room or both rooms together. This room has a double bed suitable for 2 guests. It has an air-conditioner and a space heater. The full bath and the upstairs porch are shared with our other guest room. (If you rent both rooms, you have them all to yourself!) Common areas include a living/dining room and kitchen, which are also used by the interns who occupy the other bedrooms and work in our flower operation. In the morning, help yourself to coffee and tea in the kitchen. Staying at the farm is a shared, communal experience, and it is a unique place to get away. To accommodate up to five people, you can rent both rooms. See our listing "Wollam Gardens, A Flower Destination (4-5 guests)."
Wollam Gardens is only 15-20 minutes from the charming towns of Warrenton and Culpeper, where you will find restaurants, shops, and groceries. We are also about 30 minutes from Sperryville, the gateway to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. The popular Old Rag trailhead is about 45 minutes away.
  • Wollam Gardens is a lovely little oasis in the country. I spent time relaxing here after exploring Shenandoah National Park in the daytime. Overall my stay was great and I would definitely come here again the next time I visit Shenandoah.

    Lily2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I would HIGHLY recommend this place. It is absolutely lovely. The farm itself is beautiful and there was a peaceful little balcony on the second floor where you could go and listen to the crickets. It was so peaceful and relaxing! Everything was super clean and they had any thing you could possibly need available for your convenience! There was a book with recommendations as well that was very helpful. The bed was also very comfortable. We loved it, it was a nice getaway!

  • Awesome old house, beautiful garden setting, and an easy drive from D.C. Absolutely recommend!

    Joel2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you're second guessing staying here... don't! It is a beautiful flower farm in which you are able to go out and explore. The rooms are clean and fresh towels are provided for the guests which was a nice touch! They leave instructions for checking in and recommendations for local eateries and things to do. Everyone was very nice and hospitable, there was even fresh coffee/eggs/bagels in the morning!

  • Perfect location for our needs with hiking, apothecary, restaurants close by. The house was thoughtfully decorated with flowers of course. I loved the historic flare. Surprised by the acres of flowers and the hammock hiding in the back. Thank you Bob and staff.

  • Bob's Dahlia room is a great place to stay while exploring northern Virginia or adjacent areas. The property is stunning and perfect for a relaxing stroll. We plan on getting married here in June. The staff is very friendly and professional. This place is full of love and beauty all around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. :D
