This was my favorite stay in the Netherlands. The location was perfect for a base while visiting the north. We loved using the bikes and wagon. Our children were so happy with all the games and playground on site. The place is perfect and picturesque. The hosts were so kind and accommodating. I wanted to move in.

We felt welcome and were very surprised by the beautiful setting! We really would like to come again during the summer time!

Fiona is the perfect host. She is friendly, hospitable and reliable. The communication went smoothly and uncomplicated. The accommodation in Opperdoes is cozy, tidy and big enough for a family of four people. Additionally there is a big garden, where you can have breakfast on a sunny morning. Fiona lives next door and it's always possible to ring her bell, if you need some help or advice. Opperdoes is the perfect location for some trips for example to Texel, Alkmaar or Amsterdam. I do definitly recommend Fionas place to everyone.

Fiona is a very nice host, helping and caring ! There were some food and drinks in the apartment which was really appreciated. The apartment is quite small but really comfortable, clean and cozy. Ideal for a stay in Northern Holland. I definitely recommend this place for a trip with friends. Plus, excellent value for money !!

Fiona war sehr nett, ebenso wie der Ort Opperdoes. Die Unterkunft ist sehr einfach, aber auch sehr sauber und in gutem und gepflegten Zustand. Medemblik, der nächste Ort ist fussläufig (ca. 20 Minuten ins Zentrum) und hat eine Reihe an guten Restaurants und einen netten Marina-Hafen zu bieten.

The house was simple and clean. It's close to nice small towns nearby and had a view of a little lake which was relaxing. There are a few things that made me not rate a 5 star. Before I go into those things though I have to say the host was super accommodating and pleasant! The shower head was broken when we arrived so the host was nice enough to install a new one. One of the rooms has a hospital bed instead of a regular bed, the stairs are pretty steep going down and the restroom is on the first floor so if you have children you need to be cautious We knew we had to purchase sheets or take our own but there were basic things like trash bags and hand soap that were not provided. So when you're traveling and are not carrying these basic things it's an inconvenience. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend

Good place to stay and Amsterdam is only 30 minutes away and it's a really nice location.

It was very quiet and cozy. The receptionist is very friendly and he helped us quickly in every matter.

I thank to host such a beautiful home with SmartTV, Wifi, Kitchen.. I enjoyed staying... Michel was very helpful.. SORRY Michel I dint throw the garbage as I dint find the Garbage box or I overlooked the everything is fine. If possible i like to visit again in Summer

C'est un logement pour 4 personnes pas plus ! De plus la salle de bain est hyper démodée et surtout pas pratique du tout car pas de rideau ni verre donc de l'eau partout pour les suivants ! des fourmis dans la cuisine. Par contre très au calme et près de l'eau.

Cette maison est très bien équipée, propre et agréable. Des vélos était mis à notre disposition ainsi qu'un bateau gonflable pour les enfants. Le coin est très agréable, nous étions à 40 min d'Edam et environ 50 min d'Amsterdam. Nous nous sommes senti comme chez nous je recommande ce logement pour un séjour en famille!!!

Many thanks to Trudi! She made our holidays to a real pleasure. Her house is such a lovely and cosy place with so many nice details . The surrounding is very idyllic and close to nature. You'll find many opportunities for leisure activities, such as cycling, swimming in the Ijsselmeer, sailing or visiting the old towns of Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Alkmaar and Medemblik. Amsterdam and Harlem are as well not to far for a day trip.

We just came back from a week Holiday in Trudis Cottage, and it was just so idylic. We've been there with our dog and our little Baby ! The House is really cozy and the surrounding is really nice, the IJselmeer is just across the Street! We're looking forward to come back! Thank you Trudi!

It's a really nice place to stay. It's in nature and you can see sheep grazing behind the house everyday. We've never stayed in a wooden house before but we loved it. And Trudi, we could ask her anything. She was very helpful and kind. We would stay here again if we come back to do another event in Medemblik. ~ Thai sailor Kamolwan Chanyim and her family who stayed in August 2015 (I usually travel with them but was unable to this trip due to family emergency.)

We stayed at Trudi's lovely cottage/garden house for five days and enjoyed every single one. We were warmly welcomed by Trudi and she offered advice on places to visit and restaurants. We are looking forward to coming back to this beautiful cottage.

We spent a wonderful week in the Garden house. When we arrive we were a little anxious to find a road at the top of the dike but the house and garden turned out to be nice and quiet, so there was no reason to worry. Trudi is a wonderful host always welcoming and ready to help. Every time we ask for something she was very quick in providing it and she is very open for questions and suggestions. We enjoyed riding the bikes and there are many nice landscapes around to bike in or to. There is a very nice nature reserve just across the road where you can walk, run or bike and the steam engine museum is certainly worth a visit. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace or in the living room and watching the sheep and especially the lambs playing in the field or petting the goat when it was out “moving” the grounds or trying to get “goodies” of the compost pile. We look forward to come back and stay with Trudi.

We had a great time here. This was perfect for our small family. The house was very clean and well-equipped. The scenery was beautiful and our daughter loved seeing the sheep everyday. It was nice having a large supermarket nearby. Trudi was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Trudi is a wonderful host! She left wine and cake in her very charming little house for us, was very pleasant and cautious at the Same time. We really enjoyed staying in her house. Everything is so neet and natural.

Marius’s house was great! Great location near the centre of Medemblik and by the harbour. Great facilities and furnishings. Best of all is the lovely bakery which is just across the road on the corner of the main street. We only spent 2 nights at the house but wish we had spent longer. Chose the house first but can also really recommend Medemblik and the surrounding area. Its not an area I have ever been too before but we can certainly recommend it……

This is a really exeptional place in beautiful Medemblik. Perfectly situated to explore the peninsular and also convenient for a daytrip to Amsterdam via train from Hoorn. The house itself is absolutel great, a historical landmark which allows you to imagine living in a classic Dutch home modermized with astonishing taste and love for detail.

It's a perfect place to stay if you want a quiet place to relax after sightseeing around North Holland. It has everything you need and there are few shops around, one in the village and few in the neighbouring Medemblik. The only problem for me was to find it although I have a navigation system. Garmin maps and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps show the address few hundred meters before the actual address. So it isn' Oosteinde 12 or Oosteinde 15 as I thought but it's Oosteinde 12-15. All the bungalows (cottages) have nr. 12 and then each has the second nr.. Maybe this helps for the future guests. Otherwise the house is perfectly clean and quiet modern. What impressed me the most was the touch- screen central heating :) - I haven't seen it yet.

Excellent place to stay. We were sailing and it provided an ideal base for us. It is clean, modern and well equipped.

Een te gek huis op zo'n mooie lokatie,we hebben een geweldige week gehad.

Andre ist ein super Gastgeber. Er hat bei unserer Ankunft bereits auf uns gewartet, selbst dass wir mit einiger Verspätung eintrafen, war kein Problem. Das Haus befindet sich ein einem klassisch holländischen Ferienpark, wir haben von Andre direkt zu Beginn eine Karte für die Schranke erhalten und konnten dann direkt bis zum Haus fahren und am Haus parken. Da wir nur zu Zweit dort waren hatten wir natürlich massig Platz, es gibt im Haus zwar sechs Betten, der Platz wird dann allerdings vermutlich sehr knapp. Mit Kindern, oder wenn man das Haus ausschließlich zum Schlafen nutzt, sind sechs Personen aber wohl auch kein Problem. Der eigentliche Grund, warum wir uns für dieses Angebot entschieden haben war aber der super tolle große und vor Allem komplett eingezäunte Garten. Es gibt einen eigenen Zugang zum Wasser, wo man ggf. ein Boot festmachen kann oder Ihn zum Angeln benutzen kann. Dieser Zugang ist wiederum auch durch ein kleines Tor geschützt, grade für Familien mit kleinen Kindern dürfte das sehr nützlich sein. Im inneren ist das Haus Stilvoll eingerichtet, besonders die große Küche und das tolle Bad haben uns begeistert. In der Küche gibt es einen Gasherd mit sechs Flammen und einen großen Backofen, sodass ausreichend Platz auch für aufwändigere Menüs ist. Ansonsten ist die Küche auch super ausgestattet, es gibt eine große Kühl/Gefrierkombination, die es entsprechend auch zulässt, Eis zu kaufen. ;-) Im Bad gibt es sowohl eine Rainshower-Dusche als auch eine größere Badewanne. Sehr toll! Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft grade für Familien sehr empfehlenswert, uns hat es an wirklich nichts gefehlt. Einzig ein Auto ist empfehlenswert, dann kann man jedoch in der Umgebung sowohl Einkaufsmöglichkeiten als auch Strand und Co in wenigen Minuten erreichen.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf. De ligging van de woning is erg mooi en de omgeving heerlijk rustig.

We hebben in dit huisje drie hele leuke dagen gehad. Het huisje is prima in orde en ligt aan het water, we hadden bijna onze eerste snoek gevangen! In de omgeving zijn verschillende leuke zaken te bekijken en te doen.

If you want to experience an authentic stay in Holland then this is the place to do it. The house is right next to a canal and it really feels like you are local. The location is peacfull and quiet buy still close to Amsterdam, Alkmaar and Enkhuizen. The rooms are very specious and the kitchen is well equipted. Martijn and his wife were very kind and considerate. Overall, our stay was a delight!

The spot Martijn offers is a relaxing, great place for a weekend stay or for longer holidays. All the amenities were offered, the house was clean and the general feeling is greatly positive. Opperdoes itself is a charming village with channels, a location difficult to beat. Thanks Martijn :)

Heel mooi huisje met een mooi terras waar je heerlijk vrij zit. Wandelen naar Medemblik is goed te doen en een bezoek waard met vele leuke restaurantjes en het mooie kasteel Radboud. Zeker voor rustzoekers een mooie locatie. Voor kinderen is er op het park niets te doen, maar Enkhuizen is vlakbij en daar des te meer.

Informatie vooraf was prima. Snelle reactie op vragen. Het huisje was precies zoals omschreven, alles was er. Een tweede toilet boven is erg fijn. Het huisje is niet heel persoonlijk, net een huisje wat alleen voor verhuur beschikbaar is. Behalve wat saaie boeken alleen zout/peper/suiker/koffie aanwezig.

Very nice, cozy home with a rustic farmhouse flair. It has a huge, garden with a small pond and everything is just nice. We would definetly love to come back and can recommend the place to everyone who is looking for a vacation in beautiful home and picturesque neighbourhood.

We had a lovely stay at Dutch old farmhouse for 2 days. The house is large with a beautiful neatly kept garden and is located at a very peaceful area.There are some small shops nearby if you want to get food etc.... Jeroen and his wife are very friendly and helpful. we recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a wonderful time in the country.

Nydelig sted hos gode mennesker. Service-innstilte og vennlige. Kjempefine sykkelturer i området rundt, utrolig tulipanblomstring.

We hebben met 5 vrienden hier geslapen voor 1 nachtje voor de afsluitdijk-run (die uiteindelijk helaas niet door ging...). Echt een superleuk huis, heel erg compleet, goede ontvangst, grote en mooie tuin, nette kamers en keuken. We vonden het jammer dat we maar 1 nachtje zijn gebleven en we zouden hier zo weer verblijven voor een leuk weekendje weg!

We hebben een paar heerlijke dagen beleefd in de Noord-Hollandse stolpboerderij van Jeroen en Thea. Een ruime en sfeervolle locatie in een rustig en authentiek dorp. De ontvangst door Thea was prima, ook was ze tijdens ons verblijf beschikbaar voor vragen. En de kinderen vonden de tweepersoonsdouche geweldig. We komen graag nog een keer terug!

Fionas' place was great. It is a beautiful part of Holland. She makes it very comfortable. The listing is exactly how it looks in the pictures. She has coffee and tea in the room and a couple snacks. Very nice feel like you are staying with friends. From her house many nice flower fields can be driven to or ridden to on bicycles. Her bicycles looked very nice but we had our own to use. Nothing is to far away. We drove to Alkmaar very unique rode our bikes from her house to Enkhuizen very nice also. Medenblick 2 kilometers nice restaurants. Highly recommended. Nice stay in the real Holland country side.Thanks Fiona for promptly responding to all emails.

We had a great time staying at Fiona's apartment. It’s very nice and clean. The house is situated in a quiet and cute place (we weren't so lucky with the church reconstruction though, but that's ok). Also the householders are really kind and always ready to help with any questions (about the nearby areas or apartment, for example). Thanks to Fiona and Peter so much for the warm welcome!

Beautiful, clean spacious apartment with everything we could need or want. We regret not staying for longer. Netflix, high speed Wi-fi, Coffee machine, table games to enjoy, and even small things like crisps and wine - Fiona definitely deserves more visitors.

I like the price and Fiona was very organised and helpful. The apartment is clean with plenty space. I will stay again. Upstairs can be a little loud with feet on the wooden floor, but that is in the mornings sometimes. Overall it's a great place to stay.

I strongly recommend this house for some relaxing days. We wish we could stay more. Location: The house is located in a very beautiful village with nice people. We spend one week there and enjoyed walking around and relaxing. There is a supermarket and you can buy everything you need. It is 5 min to bus stop and you can go and visit Amsterdam. It takes one and half hour, but the ticket is a bit expensive. Amenity: The house, the bed sheets, the toilet and ... are very clean. There is a microwave, a sandwich maker, a refrigerator, a boiler, and a coffee maker (but there is not any oven). Fiona provides coffee and different teas for the guests. There is also plenty of clean towels, a hair dryer, extra blankets, and three (or more) bicycles. The house is warm enough and you can control the temperature. Garden: They have a very beautiful garden. We enjoyed having breakfast there and listening birds singing. Host: On top of all good things about this house, Fiona is a very kind lady and at the same time a professional host. We will never forget her and her kindness.

One of our favourite places we've stayed so far! Fiona and Peter were so welcoming and so kind, we felt right at home straight away. The apartment is spacious and clean and in the most amazing neighbourhood. We spent most of our time just walking through the streets because it is so beautiful.
