The location is excellent, less than 10 minutes to enter Shenandoah National Park and the cabin has a great view of the mountains. The entire place is yours during your stay. • Amazing view, secluded location. Perfect for a trip to the National Park

  • If you are looking for a secluded cabin with beautiful mountain views and peace and quiet (even though you can hear the stream running while outside), book this adorable cabin!

    Dianna2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely enjoyed my stay at Ken's cottage. It's the perfect space to isolate, detach, and unplug from all the craziness of the everyday life. Super cozy once you get the fire going and the place warms up, making it a wonderful stay in the winter. But the view and the tub(!) would make it amazing through the rest of the year as well. Totally plan on visiting again in the different seasons. Also, a short (15-20 min) drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah NP and Skyline Drive, perfect location to go for a day of hiking and spot to come back to.

    Aaditya2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The view is phenomenal! I walked in and was greeted by music and a very cozy environment. Huge bed to sprawl out on and enjoy coffee, lovely couch closer to the window if you prefer that, the brick floors really pull it all together. Amazing aesthetic!

    Nathaniel2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable bed and beautiful scenery.

    Constance2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sheppard’s cottage was exactly what I was looking for. We wanted a quiet getaway in a home away from home and that’s exactly what we got! Loved that there were windows to wake up to a beautiful views and there was even a window in the bathroom so that you always have a view of the outside. The cabin is on a hill which makes it feel more secluded and love being in the woods. We enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again! Ken was a great host and we enjoyed all the local tips!

  • Had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this place for weekends away in Shenandoah. It’s a great location close to good hikes and Robert had hiking recommendations for us.

    Julia2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a Very comfortable stay at this cabin. The view from the deck was lovely, especially at sunrise!! The kitchen was very well equipped, checkin was easy and Robert was very communicative. He gave us suggestions for a winery with live music and hikes. It was very peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. Great experience overall!

    Sarah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a hidden gem nestled in the woods of the Shenandoah. The views are truly unbeatable. I would stay there again if I return to the region.

    Bryce2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Robert’s “Off the Beaten Path” is a very nice cabin. Perfect to relax and take in all the nature or explore around. There’s so much to do, hiking, there are many wineries around the area, there’s the Massanutten Resort near by that offers skiing, snowboarding and other activities depending on the season. The place was very clean! Robert has an easy process for check-in and he kindly stopped by when we arrived to make sure everything was okay. There is a Bunker, next to the cabin which can be considered an entertainment room. A very well equipped kitchen if you decide to cook, I was very impressed he even had a Kitchen Aid! The bed was very comfortable, after a day of Many activities we slept great! He has a fire place and an outdoor fire pit area, really convenient for the cold days. I will be back! The space is great for a quick getaway from dc. I totally recommend it.

    Diana Carolina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Roberts place is absolutely perfect. My husband, dog and I enjoyed our time here immensely. Every day we woke up to a breathtaking sunrise, drove into the park and hiked (it's right up the road), enjoyed a glass of wine at a new winery (there are tons in the area), then relaxed by the fireplace. Occasionally we made smores at the fire! We will definitely be back in the future!

    Kerry2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect spot for a weekend away. Very private and secluded and the views are beyond amazing. The sunrise was mesmerizing. The cabin was comfortable and very well stocked for people who like to cook! The fireplace and fire pit were highlights. This is a GREAT value and we will definitely return

    Laura2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Just had a lovely trip to Robert's cabin. Great location near the Shenandoah Park and the Massanutten Resort. Watching the sunrise and sunset on the deck overlooking the woods was so beautiful. It is a very private location and a perfect getaway from the city. The owner even provided firewood so we could enjoy a nice fire each evening. Thank you!

  • This cabin is in a perfect spot. Right next to the river gives the place a peaceful sound and view. The outdoor fire pit was so nice to roast marshmallows over! We also fell asleep to the sound of rain and the bed was so comfortable. The place was also very clean and cute. Great for a couple who just wants some alone time for a while. Thank you David!

  • This place is like no other. If you are tired and your job is stressing you out. This is the perfect place for you and your Significant other to disconnect and enjoy each other presence. This place is worth every penny and then some. Can't wait to come back again. Nothing better then going to sleep with the sound of the river coming through the window.

  • This cabin finds the balance between nature, tranquility, and location being so close to many wonderful wineries. The cabin was incredibly clean — which we were greatly appreciative of given the global pandemic. The wood stove, porch, and babbling brook were among our favorites in this hidden gem. We look forward to returning in the future!

    Michael2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

The Tiny House is open. Email me for info on our extra precautions. Looking to (re)treat yourself? Artists, writers, nature-lovers...welcome! The Tiny House is a place to reconnect with the wild and precious - within and around you. Located on a farm at the outskirts of Shenandoah National Park, this is a place to immerse yourself in beauty, simplicity, and down-to-earthiness. Hike the mountains. Visit local wineries or art galleries. Befriend a goat. Or, read a good book at pond-edge.
I'm still accepting weekend guests and taking extra precautions to sanitize the space - consistent with CDC/WHO guidelines. Let us support your physical and mental health needs in a gorgeous location. I have opened up onsite trails for your use - complete with mountain streams, rock outcroppings, and a fern glen. You can book sessions for my Resilience Counciling (see Facebook page) while you are here. I can also teach you to forage for wild foods and you can purchase fresh garden items when they are available. Ravens Ridge Farm is featured in my book, RidgeLines: A View of Nature and Human Nature (2019). This is a working farm in a natural setting. Three lovable working dogs will bark during the day (it's their job to protect the goats and sheep), but are typically inside by 10pm. Adorable, yet overly narcissistic, cats are likely to stop by for some cuddling. Wildlife abounds. You might get lucky enough to see one of the resident bears, foxes, or bobcats. During spring and summer nights you may hear chorusing frogs at the farm's three ponds, perhaps an owl, maybe a coyote. For a virtual introduction to the beauty and beasts, visit my Fine Art America gallery. Search Jamie K. Reaser on Fine Art America. Notes: I will make every reasonable effort to accommodate special needs. If you require particular lodging conditions (e.g., due to health concerns), please contact me before booking in order to ensure that I can fully support your stay. If this lodging is not a good fit for you, I may be able to suggest other local Airbnb options that will meet your specific needs. Ravens Ridge Farm is currently for sale. I will be opening the booking calendar on a monthly basis in order to reduce the likelihood that booking conflicts arise when the property goes under new ownership. I'm currently accepting bookings through June.
Shenandoah National Park's Central District entrance is just 4 miles away by road. In 10 minutes you can be in downtown Stanardsville, in 20 minutes Ruckersville, and a 50 minute drive will enable you to enjoy all the amenities of a university town - either Harrisonburg to the West or Charlottesville to the South. Art, antiques, boating, breweries, cideries, distilleries, dancing, dining, fishing, hiking, rafting, rock climbing...there is so much to do in central Virginia! Search Explore Greene County for local tourism information.
  • Jamie has created a special place of safety and restoration at The Tiny House. It’s a great place to rest in the elemental power of The Blue Ridge mountains.

    William2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House was a great place to stay for a quiet getaway. The farm was a plus; I really enjoyed the goats. Jamie was a great host! She offered excellent suggestions when we arrived, and was very responsive.

    Gabrielle2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • From the initial booking through our entire stay, Jamie was communicative and an excellent host. The Tiny House was wonderful, and had everything we could have wanted for our stay. And that's just the beginning. Jamie gave great local recommendations, and she showed us some great spots on ther property like the pond filled with frog and salamander eggs. We would love to come back and you should 10/10 stay at the Tiny House.

    Molly2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming setting, quaint house, and beautiful land. Enjoyed our stay!

    Diane2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie clearly puts a lot of thought into making the Tiny House a wonderful place to stay. The farm and surrounding area is beautiful and makes for a restorative get-away from the crowded, busy lives many of us lead. Highly recommend!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An art-graced, charming farm employing sustainable gardening practices and supportive of wildlife as well as friendly pets including goats and a sheep. The place is very special, nestled in a sunny spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains with sparkling streams below an abundance of mountain laurel and a pleasant hike to a gorgeous vista of the South River Valley. The Tiny House is a delightful place to stay.

    Deborah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Highly recommended! An incredibly peaceful location just outside Shenandoah National Park. You can feel your soul being cleansed as you immerse yourself in the woods. The "tiny house" isn't quite as tiny as you might think -- more like a small three-room apartment. We were quite comfortable and had everything we needed. The place was sparkling clean. The host is quick to communicate, warm, gracious, willing to share her knowledge of biology and the surrounding area. We love her...

    Eric & Erica2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny house was nicer than the photos I saw. Clean and cozy rooms, adorable animals and stars in the night sky. Also, Jamie was a very kind host. I think staying here is one of the good choices to experience Shenandoah National Park.

  • This place was amazing and conveniently located to everything. One of the best air bnb’s I stayed at. Michelle and her husband covered everything from the smallest thoughtful touches. Look forward to staying again. Highly recommended

  • We had a great time at Michele’s cottage. Super cute place in such a pretty area! Everything was clean and tidy and the beds were super comfy. Michele is a great host, she responded quickly and gave lots of good recommendations for hiking and wineries in the area. I definitely would recommend staying here & we would love to go back!

Chestnut Hills Cottage is a Romantic Retreat for two! Our mountain retreat is the perfect escape from city life. Located on 40 private acres just a few miles from the Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. This charming cabin has been lovingly restored by owners Alun and Norma Ward. You'll find peace and quiet and all the conveniences of modern life, including quality linens, wifi and a hot tub under the stars. We invite you to experience the charm of our Blue Ridge Mountain Cottage!
This cottage is located near the site of an old mountain homestead. It was located here due to the ever flowing spring located in the valley below. The subsistence mountain farm which was located here fell into ruins in the late 1800s. Many of the old stone walls and the ruins of a small barn are located just below the cottage. For many years a rough, smaller cottage was on this site. In the late 1990s Alun and Norma, owners of the adjacent property, were able to acquire this beautiful, mostly wooded valley and begin plans for Chestnut Hills Cottage. The original cottage was renovated and enlarged, decks built, and hot tub installed. Alun did most of the work on the cottage himself, along with help from family and summer students. While the cottage is surrounded by two acres of lawn, the balance of the property is mature forest with Blue Run, a mountain stream below in the valley. We are located in the center of Virginia Wine Country and 4 miles from the eastern boundary of Shenandoah National Park.
Our cottage is located on the last property on a one mile long private road. This 40 acre property provides a completely private setting for Chestnut Hills Cottage. The views to the east are of the Barboursville mountains, 25 miles away. Views to the west are of Powell Mountains and the valley which leads down to our spring and creek. While we live on the adjacent property, about 1/4 mile away, we rarely see our guests, but we are close by if needed.
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The place was very clean and cozy! The hot tub and robes were a great addition to our weekend getaway. Will definitely come back next year!

  • Awesome place! Lovely cottage, easy stay. Close enough to Shenandoah (a quick 10min drive) with a magical hot tub under the stars after a day in nature

    Alex2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful rental! Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Cabin was very clean, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. Felt very quiet & secluded - down a gravel road, but within easy driving distance to hiking, wineries, restaurants, etc. The hosts provide a lot of helpful info on area attractions. We hope to come back and stay again!

  • Alan and his family were great!

    Kristen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's place was the perfect base for exploring Shenandoah, particularly for hikes like Old Rag and White Oak Canyon that start outside Skyline Drive. The house was clean, spacious and secluded, and the hot tub was the ideal way to soothe our aching muscles after a long day hiking. Would definitely recommend.

    Laura2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • FANTASTIC!! The cottage is as perfect as it looks in the pictures! We loved the solitude and especially the hot tub! Next trip we are planning to bring our own food so we don't have to leave!!

  • Paul and Marilee's place is the perfect hideaway, just a quick 20-minute drive from the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah NP. We loved having morning tea on the screened-in patio looking over the rolling field and at the mountain. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything to make your meals.

    Zack2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway with an even more perfect location! We visited Shenandoah with ease throughout our stay. Like other reviewers said, you do lose cell service about 15 out from the house so just be prepared for that. Will stay again!

    Kelsey2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the farm house with plenty of room to run around outside and sit on the porch swing. The rooms have been nicely decorated. It’s an easy drive to Shenandoah and many breweries/wineries

    Malissa2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Marilee's place is so, so, so lovely. You feel like you have your own slice of mountain! It's close to vineyards and I found a local grocery store maybe 8 minutes away. There is no cell phone service so be sure to turn on WIFI calling or Skype. Paul and Marilee were so attentive and even let me know about the cell service before I arrived. I will be staying here again!

    Tanisha2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay - the home is even more beautiful than the photos. The bedrooms were especially lovely. We hope to be back again as The Farmhouse is so close to fun hikes in Shenandoah.

    Megan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Charming farmhouse with beautiful views (especially from upstairs bedrooms and sitting area) and spacious outside area. Great for taking walks (especially if you bring a pup) or just hanging out. Loved the winery within walking distance but it was closed for the season at the time of our visit. However, I did pick up a bottle of their tasty wine at the Noon Whistle Pottery. We experienced minor inconveniences such as stink bugs/lady bugs and a brief internet outage. Paul was quick to respond and keep us updated on the internet issue. No Verizon cell service - have to connect via wi-fi. We enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing stay!

    Ruth2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, peaceful place for our relaxing weekend near Shenandoah! Would definitely stay again. We enjoyed watching movies on the comfortable sofa, making meals in the spacious kitchen (and warming up next to the gas fireplace), and taking in the beautiful view.

Several lovely hiking trails linking to the property, so no need to even drive. Aloha themed unit with spacious kitchen and living room which had good some fun board games including "Worst Case Scenario" Survival game. • What a beautiful property! We stayed here for a weekend to work on project and found the Greene House to be the perfect secluded getaway. Our favorite part was easily the hot tub overlooking the farm and pasture - you can wake up early, hop in the hot tub, and watch the sunrise as the chickens and goats amble out of the barn. Our host, Martha, was very kind and responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for the stay. Highly recommend!

  • Lovely little cabin. Clean and stocked with everything we needed for a quiet weekend getaway. Kelly was an excellent host and provided recommendations for local hikes (Skyline Drive is just a few minutes down the road). A+

    Chris2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a romantic, clean place to stay for a weekend getaway! The hot tub and fireplace were so cozy. The only issues we had were that the microwave did not work properly and the fire logs provided were hard to start a fire with without a fire starter log (which would have been nice to know before we got there since we couldn’t have a fire our first night without running to Walmart.) Additionally, the road to get to the cabin is unpaved and a little tight, so I’m glad we had great weather (otherwise driving in the snow would have been pretty impossible.) But we loved the cabin—if we ever come back to Stanardsville we would love to stay here again!

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This super clean and cozy cabin tucked up against the Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Mountains made for a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of DC. We spent lots of time reading, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful views from the hot tub. The hot tub and wood burning fireplace really made our stay incredible. We thought about adventuring out during our stay but we didn’t want to leave the comforts of the cabin. The bed was super comfortable too. We will absolutely be back!

    Brett2020-02-03T00:00:00Z

  • If you want privacy and coziness, this is the cabin for you. It is within an easy driving distance of great restaurants and shopping and fun places in Charlottesville. Everything was easy and we lacked for nothing. The beauty of the scenery from every window was amazing. And the experience of a clear, cold, star filled night in the hot tub was beyond words!

    Maureen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Romance Ridge was an absolute pleasure. It far exceeded our expectation. The cabin is well built, clean and modern. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Our host was very responsive and incredibly kind. I highly recommend staying at Romance Ridge if you are looking for a nice getaway.

  • Definitely recommend staying at Naomi’s place! A very stylish and comfortable home that allowed us to “take a holiday from our holiday”. The house has everything you might need, very clean and is located close to Shenandoah National Park. Our favourite stay during our US road-trip holiday for sure.

    Rita2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great find very close to the Shenandoah. Loved the dog friendliness. The house is very cool and well loved. Extremely well stocked! It was definitely like a home away from home.

    Amy2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This house is so well-stocked you'll barely need anything from the grocery store. The property is beautiful and the bedrooms are big. There's two full bathrooms and a half bath. The porch is lovely and we spent a lot of time sitting out there. The yard is large and easily accodomates outdoor recreation. Our dogs enjoyed wandering around the yard, too. We didn't really have to worry about the road since it's on a private driveway. The drive to Skyline Drive is quick and easy. We had intermittent cell service, which is better than expected. There's lots of board games to keep the kids occupied. The mattresses are extra firm so if you're a side sleeper perhaps bring a comforter to cushion it a little bit. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone else.

    Kelly2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This home has the potential to disrupt your trip—instead of doing all the day trips you have planned, you might find yourself playing in the yard, exploring the creek, or just resting in this secluded, comfortable space. We absolutely loved the time we spent here, and the warmth of both home and host are unmatched, in my travel experience.

    Jared2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Naomis place is so wonderful! My family stayed here for graduation weekend with our dog Zeus- and we were blown away by the style and cleanliness of the home. There is certainly nothing better than being tucked away in the woods with a cozy farm house you could spend weeks in! We wished our visit was longer!

    Julia2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great weekend at Naomi’s. We brought our two pups and were excited to see there were a couple dog beds and lots of treats and toys ready for them. I also loved how I didn’t have to bring much. All necessary amenities needed for a fun, relaxing weekend are there!

    Nicole2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Naomi was a great host! Extremely responsive and helpful with a beautiful home. My family would absolutely stay here again.

    Carissa2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • A traditional Virginia farmhouse, epically spacious and easy-living comfortable with everything we could have needed. Dog friendly. Halfway up a private mountain road so that all you hear is the creek tumbling around its rocks. An uncrowded 20 minute road from restaurants and supplies. Likely the best value we have found for weekend trips; and we hope to return.

  • The house was amazing! Exactly the right mix of seclusion and scenery, and right near Shenandoah. The large windows gave beautiful views in the morning to wake up to and the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, silverware, and plates which was very nice. David’s extensive local tips were also very helpful! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful location!

  • If you're looking for a true off-the-grid mountain experience, this is it! The views were amazing, and the cabin is warm and inviting. Leave your laptop/tablet at home, and bring games, books and plenty of firewood to make use of the wood burning stove!

  • Great place. Very cute and amazing value for the price. This little cottage served as a great couples getaway in the mountains. We loved the big windows & Mountain View from bed! Suggested hikes in Shenandoah and pottery shop in town were spectacular!

  • We had a great time at this quaint but comfortable cabin. If you have a car (I couldn’t imagine walking) and intend to do some exploring in Shenandoah it’s a great place to stay. The picture window and wood bringing stove were especially great. Not a fully secluded place, there’s another house visible just down the hill but certainly has everything you’d need and more...not to mention some of the most thorough local tips I’ve ever received!

    Nick2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Keith's place was wonderful, with all the amenities we needed. The cabin is secluded and surprisingly spacious.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay and we wish we could have stayed longer. It is really clean and cosy, and the views of the forest from the giant windows are spectacular - you can also enjoy them from the bathtub, which, by the way, has jacuzzi-style bubble jets! Wow! The kitchen has all the equipment you could need for a short stay and the king-size bed is very comfy. The light in the morning is beautiful. The hosts were great communicators and left us to our own devices - perfect! Thank you!

We have satellite TV and a DVD player along with wireless internet for your convenience. There are 2 outside fire pits, we try to keep wood there, but it's not always guaranteed.
We have wonderful neighbors! Please respect them and their privacy.
  • Our stay was fantastic. Spending time on the property was a dream. We sat out in the nice weather while watching and listening to the creek and had plenty of relaxing time by both fire pits. We enjoyed the DVD collection and had perfect nights of sleep on the comfy bed listening to the creek. Skyline drive was easily accessible, and so were the suggested hikes in the welcome pack. We decided to do Upper Hawksbill and the waterfall close to Hawksbill which was about a 45 drive up Skyline. This location is a perfect romantic getaway in the Shenandoah region. We would gladly return.

  • So cute and secluded. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway or longer just to get out of the hustle and bustle of city life.

    Mollie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place or a mountain getaway off the grid. It's very remote and there is no wifi so plan to spend the weekend relaxing and unwinding. The hot tub is a great place to start. Due to the set up of the house there are not floor to ceiling walls between the bedrooms so a lot of sound passes between the two rooms so make sure you are close with the other couple if splitting the house for a weekend. We did a couple of the hikes listed and visited the local brewery and winery all of which were excellent reccomendations.

    Andrew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to come unwind and unplug. The hot tub, the views, the fresh air and vibes are not to be missed! This place is definitely going to be a regular retreat for me.

    Nora2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is cozy, clean, and a home away from home. Location is beautiful and central to all the things we wanted to do. We would definitely stay here again!

    Carolyn2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect place to “unplug”. If you are looking for a relaxing private weekend sitting on a deck in a hot tub overlooking a beautiful mountain with the sound of a river in the background this is the place for you. Be ready to disconnect!

    Milo2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, clean cabin with thoughtful touches in the quiet woods, able to hear the stream from the wrap around deck. About 20min drive to Shenandoah entrance.

    Lori2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and such a charming and relaxing place. Great weekend getaway for a couple to unwind and unplug from the world. There were beautiful fall colors all around. Picked the perfect weekend!

    Laurie2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful two nights in the secluded cabin! Directions were clear and check in was quick and easy. The moment you step through the door you feel completely welcomed. Multiple amenities throughout the house to take care of all your needs. House was clean and beautiful. Full kitchen to cook. Hot tub was ready for you to get right in! They even had board games for game night! They also had multiple pamphlets on things to do in the area. Seems like they thought about everything!

They also respond very fast Incase something happens. Incredible weekend, I also got engaged at the yurt on my birthday. Definitely coming back in the upcoming years.

  • Great views and location for accessing the Shenandoah National Park and other wonderful areas. Anticipate star filled skies and peaceful seclusion. Highly recommend for other anglers accessing the late winter March Brown hatched on the eastern side of the Shenandoah National Park!

  • Great place for an anniversary!

    Evan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Driving up the mountain and staying in the yurt was an adventure and so fun! Friendly host and very welcoming! All the amenities you need with eggs and meat for breakfast straight from their farm, if you ask! The place was so cozy, even on the chilly nights. We did hear the watch dogs barking throughout the night but everything else was wonderful. Perfect spot to chill out and relax and go exploring too. Great trails around the property. Loved the local brewery, Bald Top and had lunch at Yoder’s market. Hope to be back again soon!

    Chelsea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Great private location. We didn’t use the pool, but read in the stay book that others had greatly enjoyed it. We took time to fish (a quick walk from the porch) at the pond. Had luck catching fish 3 days in a row. Mini horses and donkeys were fun to interact with. Also saw many deer each day passing through the farm. Great area with good wineries and shops to stop in. Definitely recommend a stay here.

  • The Tummus house was a wonderful weekend getaway from the city craziness. The cabin was adorable, spacious, and a great space all around. We managed to get in a nice hike into Shenandoah, try out the hot tub, have a nice fire and cook some great meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Thanks again to Whitt and Martha!

    Nathan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Warm cozy house in a beautiful location. Great hiking right out the door or a quick drive up to the National Park. Beautiful sunrises.

  • Whitt & Martha’s place is spot on for hiking in the Shenandoah National Park and surrounding areas. The hot tub was icing on the cake and bundle that with the mattress and down comforter for a wonderful nights sleep!

  • The perfect getaway! The farm is on a gorgeous mountain with endless great hiking paths branching right off the property. The cabin itself is perfectly secluded and private while still being close to plenty of great activities in the Shenandoah area. Whitt and Martha are warm and responsive. (They’re also incredible bakers)

  • Amazing retreat in the Shenandoahs! Our family, which includes three kids, was very comfortable. We got farm fresh eggs and cinnamon rolls, and the whole family thought they were delicious. Great location: close to Swift Run Gap and great breweries and wineries, while being removed enough to be very peaceful.

    Brent2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time! Perfect place to rest after our elopement. The bread was delicious and the pigs were adorable! Thanks for a delightful stay ❤️

This cabin was originally a 4 room home and throughout the passing years it was added onto and upgraded with the times. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths , full kitchen, huge living room, and dining room. There is a stone fireplace , and a covered front porch. The house is located right off of Route 33 at the foot of skyline drive. Very close to being centered of Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. There are several Antique shops within 8 miles of either direction. FIREPLACE OUT OF ORDER, Do Not Use!
Please be aware 2 bedrooms are located upstairs. The stairs in this home are narrow and they turn like a u turn. There is an electric fence separating our property from the neighbors because they have goats they raise. If you have children please take cautionary measures to ensure they will not be shocked by the fence. Massenutten Ski resort is just a few miles over the mountain as well. The only space off limits are the 2 buildings on the property. Please respect the neighbors
Located At the foot of the Skyline drive and close to Harrisonburg and Charlottesville. There a stone church located next door to the cabin as well.
  • This lodge was a real gem. There were 3 of us staying there and there was more than enough space. You could have 3 couples stay there if need be. The place was clean and loaded with small touches that went above and beyond. We were provided fruits, cookies, coffee, popcorn, etc. The kitchen was loaded with everything you need to cook, the beds were comfy, and the amenities were a delight. We loved our time on the stone porch and in the comfortable common rooms. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for a great trip!

  • Amazing place to stay! Owners had quick response time whenever messaged. Always willing to accommodate you in anyway! Left popcorn, cookies, and Apple cider! The place was sparkling clean and had a homey feel to it. I wish I could give 10stars.

    Kim2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean and well decorated. Plenty of space to spread out, relax, play games/puzzles, etc. The location is great! Only about 5 minutes away from hiking in the National Park. Lois and Stacy left us goodies to enjoy and marshmallow roasting supplies for the fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and dishes. And watching the goats on the back side of the property was quite enjoyable and entertaining. I would highly recommend!

  • I had a great time here. The place, and surrounding neighborhood, were quaint, warm and inviting, and rejuvenating. It was just what the doctor ordered to alleviate the stress that comes with the busy DC lifestyle.

    Robert2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect quiet weekend away from the city where our dog could let his hair down! He was able to walk with us off leash on the beautiful property, we enjoyed some great local wine and beautiful scenery, and spent the nights in cooking in the large and beautiful kitchen! We loved it!

    Shannon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a place to spend a weekend away from the city. We loved exploring the grounds and trails on the property, and watching the sunset over the mountains from the big grassy field in front of the house. The house itself is impeccably clean and cozy. Paul and Marilee were great hosts, very responsive and helpful with tips on things to do nearby. I only wish we had a few more days of vacation to spend here...

    Michel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

2 bedroom cabin surrounded by 200 acres - perfect for a relaxing getaway
Beautiful mountain views on a 200 acre farm. This recently renovated cabin is the perfect weekend getaway. Spend time hiking the Blue Ridge or relaxing around the Asado in the backyard. On the main floor you will find 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, living room with a wood burning stove, large kitchen, and office. The upstairs is an open loft with the second bed located in a closed corner for privacy. The cabin is 10 minutes from the town of Stanardsville, 20 minutes from Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park, 45 minutes from Charlottesville/University of Virginia, and close to many local vineyards (Glass House, Barboursville, Stone Mountain).
  • Great, private house with a lot of free space for the dogs to run and play. An excellent headquarters for anyone looking to explore Shenandoah Forest

  • Staying here is like being invited to stay in a friend's vacation home. I chose this cabin for its secluded location near SNP, so I was pleased that the closest neighbors are Highland cattle. I'd like to stay here again.

  • Wonderful antique cabin on gorgeous property. Peaceful and private.

    Rebecca2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • A unique, charming, cozy house in a great location. The home felt warm and personal, nothing like a sterile hotel or the corporate AirBnB’s that have been cropping up. The rooms are a bit small, but fine given that we spent most of the days hiking in Shenandoah. The kitchen was nicely equipped, and the outdoor barbecue was fun to use. This place is best for people who want to stay in for meals as there are no nearby restaurants. Our dog loved the outdoor space. The house is close to the Swift Run Gap entrance, giving you access to the central and southern parts of the park.

    Aparna2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, rustic chic house with heirloom furniture and decor pieces on a scenic property! I felt like this was a house you wish were in your family to make more frequent use of. Hosts checked in on us and even provided fresh flowers. Perfect for a couple or small group of friends. This property is a ways away from Charlottesville, FYI for those seeking a place close to UVA. Would return again.

  • The photos don't do justice for this house; you will be positively surprised. The checkin process was very easy and detailed instructions were provided by David. The house was sparkling clean and has amazing lake views from both decks. It is very spacious. David has provided details on things to do locally and that was wonderful. The location of the house is also perfect. It has place to park around 3 cars.

    Nirmit2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cabin!

    Justin2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! The place was exactly as described. Views were delightful - we enjoyed sitting on the porch and taking them in, rain and shine. The cabin is also very close to a park entrance, which makes it easy to get in great hikes. If you’re arriving at night, be cautious with the last turn - it’s sharp and steep. But very doable, even in a sedan! Just worth some caution. The cabin is clean, well-supplied, and exactly as described. Note that both floors are open plan! The beds are in the main spaces - which makes for nice views, even if it means less privacy. I’d stay here again!

    Marisa2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to be delighted by the spectacular view and the serenity this cabin delivers. David's a great host and has provided amenities to make our stays comfortable

  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ruthann's! The space is beautiful, very clean, and has everything you need for your stay. We came to the area to hike in Shenandoah for a few days, and the house was very convenient to get to different areas of the park. It was also an easy drive to Charlottesville so we checked out some restaurants and breweries. Ruthann also had some great recommendations for us. Her hospitality is top notch and I would recommend her place to everyone coming to the area!

    Kaitlin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, perfect getaway spot with gorgeous view and adorable furnishings. Ruthann is a great host as well.

    Rebecca2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The place was very clean, with excellent amenities and thoughtfully done. Ruthann was a great host and quite responsive in her responses. She went out of her way to ensure we found good restaurants to eat and offered very good local suggestions. Thank you for hosting us and we will be sure to recommend this place!

    Savitha2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, beautiful location. Tranquil, serene getaway. Lovely, brightly-lit space. Had everything we needed!

    Tally2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ruthann’s place is even better than pictured. As clean and comfortable as a great boutique hotel stay, made even better by Ruthann’s design style, warmth, and hospitality. The property is very private and quiet, which we loved. The surrounding area is just gorgeous and the apartment is full of natural light. The appliances, bedding, towels, lighting, and everything were top notch. We usually eat out when on trips, but the space was so lovely (with the cutest little kitchen) that we ended up coming back early to make dinner each night to just enjoy the space and scenery. Highly recommend Ruthann’s place for city-dwellers like us (or anyone!) looking for a relaxing getaway!

    Melissa2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great views, and cute apartment with all you need for a romantic getaway!

  • The weekend we spent in this beautiful cabin is one we will never forget, and one that we are so eager to return to. It’s hard to put into words or pictures how magical this place is. It is a home with extremely detailed, thoughtful touches that make it so unique and warm. There is PLENTY of fire wood for nights by the fire, a huge amount of land to walk around and star gaze, rolling hills all around and of course an enchanted forest to visit! We feel so lucky to have been guests at the Rabbit Hole.

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Rabbit Hollow could not have been a more quaint and charming cabin! We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was top quality and incredibly clean (literally sparkling!). The location was perfect, close enough to vineyards/stores/etc., but it still felt like you were in the country. The hiking trails right by the cabin were so convenient too. Sarah's thoughtfulness and little touches really made the experience that much more special and memorable! The fireplace also really rocks.

    Caroline2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin, while in a remote area of Virginia, is a great getaway to relax and get off the grid! It's so close though to Shenandoah National Park, so you can get out, explore and go hiking. Bring a book for the cabin, and some music/CDs, because it's super quiet and no TV either. Sarah has paid attention to detail, the cabin is just charming, and she was the kindest hostess -very responsive in messaging, too. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

    Judy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • What more can I say that hasn’t been expressed by prior guests about this beautiful vacation spot. Everything we wanted and more from a super clean getaway to many thoughtful surprises like the wine and coffee cake we enjoyed that first night, plenty of towels, Keurig coffee and a book about things to do in the area. We cooked dinners on the grill and breakfast each morning. Plenty of wood helped us enjoy oh so cozy fires. Already planning our return.

    Monica2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such an awesome cozy little cabin, hats off to Sarah for this getaway

    Ronnie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING!!!! Immaculately clean, so peaceful, and the cabin is BEAUTIFUL!! My husband and I loved our stay here! It was the perfect retreat! I just can’t say enough good things about this cabin. The location was perfect - We were close to Skyline drive but far enough away to have privacy. We ate at the Lafayette Inn which was delicious! Sarah had coffee cake and wine for us. She also had a book of local attractions and was super helpful in suggestions for us. The enchanted forest by the house is so adorable and decorated for Halloween made it super fun! We can’t wait to come back!

    Jolee2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay will definitely will return!

    Stone2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is the ideal cozy cabin in a beautiful site at the foot of the mountains. The place was immaculate and had everything we needed from plenty of firewood to plenty of towels. We had excellent communication with Sarah and appreciated her many recommendations. Although you will not want to leave the cabin and the peaceful scenic landscape, there are great vineyards nearby. This was a wonderful place which was even better than we expected.

Incredible views, a great place to relax, nature all around. The 1800s cabin has been restored into two private units. The cabin has a king size bed with reading area, full kitchen, living room with fireplace. Enjoy every season with us. Keep to yourself or come join us in the garden. Your cabin is located one mile from the entrance to the Shenandoah National Park, and convenient to many wineries, hiking and historic Charlottesville.
Never the same sky. Enjoy looking out to the mountains and know that you will never see that same view again. Everyday is different. While this is an attached unit, your entrance and living space are completely private including your own personal hot tub.
  • The pictures simply don’t do the house justice! The property and house were both absolutely gorgeous. The price we paid was an amazing deal for such a romantic property with so many amenities. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were very well equipped. The space was very private and the hot tub was lovely! Perfect weekend getaway to enjoy some peace and quiet outside of the bustle of the DC life! The property was within driving distance of several breweries, wineries and even a cidery! We will most definitely be back as soon as possible!

Our home is a newly renovated charming cottage nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Virginia Blueridge Mountains. You'll enjoy old cottage charm with added modern but classic updates to the entire home. Relax on the screened in back porch with tranquil sound of a water feature . Our home is centrally located near several beloved attractions like Skyline drive, Charlottesville, Massanutten Ski Resort, wineries and antique shops. Greenehills Country Club is directly across from our home.
Lovingly restored with great care to retain its old original charm while incorporating some modern comforts. The master bedroom has a king bed, walk in closet, master bath with duel vanity custom shower and large claw foot tub. There are also exposed beams and the original stone and brick fireplace to add to the masters cottage charm. In the living room you will find brand new hickory wood floors, exposed beams and simple decor as well as a small powder room for convenience. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area consisting of vaulted ceiling, a island with granite counter, farm sink, and brand new stainless appliances. Off the kitchen is the laundry. Between the living room and dining area is a door leading to a relaxing screened porch. Upstairs are two guest bedrooms. One room with a queen bed and one with a full bed. There is also a bath with an antique claw foot tub. There is no shower in upstairs bathroom so master bedroom shower would have to be shared with all guests.

  • Ginny’s place was one of our favorite Airbnb stays ever! The house was extremely clean and super cute. We had all of the amenities we needed and would definitely come back!

    Veronica2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ginny and Tim's place was amazing! It made for a perfect get away for my friends and I for my birthday weekend. It was about 30 minutes from the slopes which was very ideal. The place itself was very clean and updated nicely. We never had to contact them for any issues, but they made it known that they were available if we ever needed them! If I plan a ski trip again I would love to stay here. I was also left a sweet little birthday surprise! Thank you both so much for your hospitality :)

  • This is a rustic country home with all the modern conveniences. We had no lack of space; the beds were comfortable; the kitchen had all the usual amenities; and everything was clean and ready for us when we got there. We had no troubles of any kind. First rate!

  • We were in town for a nearby wedding and chose this place so our out of town family from Maryland could meet us there and spend some quality time with our family when we weren’t at the wedding. I must say, this place was great! From the moment you walk in it feels like home. This place was very clean and has everything you need. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely choose this place again. It is the perfect place to getaway! Thanks to the awesome hosts!

  • This was our 1st Air bnb rental and it was a success! The house was as stated: lovely, spacious, warm, and clean. The hosts were extremely responsive, too. Many thanks for this new experience!

  • Ginny and Todd were great hosts leading up to and during our stay. We had no issues but when we had simple questions Ginny responded very promptly. Ginny also allowed us checkin in early as well as checkout late which was very nice since we had 2 little kids in tow. The house was so comfortable and spotless. They left us a nice welcome package with a bottle of wine and treats for us and one for the kids. Would definitely come back here!

  • Paul and Marilee have recreated such a wonderful retreat. The loft is calm and cozy, and filled with all the essentials you need in the house as well as lots of recommendations to explore the area.

  • Spent my honeymoon weekend here and it was lovely. It had all the essential dishes we needed to cook meals for each other. A short drive away from Shenandoah National Park if you like hiking. There was even some handy binoculars that we took with us. A Walmart close by if you need any pick me ups. Washer, dryer, extra linens if needed, everything is easy to find and we were not disappointed with our stay. The layout of the home is accommodating and comfortable. Would recommend and stay again.

  • We highly recommend to stay at Paul and Marilee’s place. There are so many wineries around, we will definitely go back!

  • Paul and Marilee’s place was an excellent choice for our long weekend of hiking at Shenandoah National Park and the AT! Paul was even gracious enough to lend us one of his headlamps for our sunrise hike up to Bear Fence Mountain. The Loft is a quick 20-30 minute drive to the park entrance at Swift Run Gap. The beds were comfortable and the place was perfect size for our group of three and golden doodle. We would stay here again!

  • Very nice, well furnished and comfortable two bedroom apartment. House is in a lovely, leafy and peaceful road very close to a good size lake. Perfect location for visiting Shenandoah as only 10 mins drive to Swift Gap entrance. Was pretty cold and foggywhen we were there so unfortunately could not take advantage of the large decked balcony with table and chairs, grill and loungers. An excellent get away from it all spot Good selection of board games provided too.
