What Past Guests Are Saying: "First of all, no way was I expecting the chalet to have everything you needed. I was going to put it to the test. You PASSED. Everything you can imagine you would need, is there. Second, I was skeptical about having privacy or peace and quiet. It was so quiet a pin drop would be too loud. Absolutely private and quiet, we felt very safe. Third, My Husband said jesh, this is cleaner than most hotels we've stayed at. Overall we gave it "11" we will be back." -Gary and Sue V. "Lynn, Well we just got back and the first thing I had to do was e-mail you and let you know what a terrific time we had. I contacted you in hopes of finding somewhere we could get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and we got just that. Your Chalet is absolutely amazing, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. From the moment we arrived to the saddened departure it was absolutely the best time we have had in a very long time. Your directions were exact and everything worked out exactly as planned. There was nothing better than sitting on the front deck with a glass of wine listening to nothing for a change, it was The touches of home did nothing but add to that feeling and it was amazing. Thank you from both of us for allowing us to stay at your wonderful get away, I can absolutely assure you that we will be contacting you again soon many times. Finally again thank you very much we had an amazing weekend, if you EVER consider selling your property PLEASE let me know, seriously there is not a place in the world that can fulfill exactly what we were looking for like yours did." -Nick A. "What a wonderful place! I have now stayed here twice and can't wait to go back. The chalet is in a perfect location nestled in the hills and not far from great hiking, restaurants and adventure. Whether a long weekend or a week, well worth it!" -Guest Review from erik "I just wanted to leave you an email that I forgot to send a long time ago. My girlfriend and I went up there the weekend of July 21st just to get away for the weekend. What she didnt know is that after having a wonderful day horseback riding and enjoying downtown Luray I was going to propose to her. So at sunset after a wonderful dinner I proposed to her on your deck of the chalet. We had a wonderful time, loved the location, loved the chalet and would definitely go back. Thank you again!" -Jeff B. "Just right!!! We have rented many cabins in many different areas. This cabin was just right. It felt very much like home. Some cabins are too rustic, or have to many unnecessary luxuries. This cabin, met in the middle, I did not pay extra for things I did not need, and yet was very comfortable." -Len and Ri from Longwood FL "Wonderful cabin, great price! Everything you need in this nice little cabin get-away. Surrounded by woods and wildlife. Great quite place to get away, enjoy nature, see deer, and take pictures. They had everything you could think of from dishes & coffee to DVD movies. Highly recomended. Great price. Only minutes from Skyline Drive and many caverns." -Guest Review from JGdesigner "My fiance and I spent Halloween weekend in your cabin. It was beautiful! I was impressed with how stocked the place is. it was just like being at home! We visited Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive while in the area, and the cabin was convenient to both. We just wanted to thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We hope to return soon!" -Tanika M. "Nice getaway. This chalet was exactly as described. The location was beautiful and the house was clean and very affordable. Thanks for the hiking suggestions as it was too warm for skiing. Lots to do in nearby Luray too." -Guest Review from kreay "Perfect and affordable Place to Get-A-Way from the Hussle and Bussle. We have stayed at the Chalet twice and just love it. The price is right and the house is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We have used it as a get-a-way in the winter to leave the hectic pace of DC and love that there's no cable, internet, or cell phone coverage... we bring dvd's, lots of food and drink, hike during the day and cook and relax at night. This past trip, we hit a couple of close wineries, which was just a perfect touch. Highly Recommend!" -Guest Review from dmiller "Wonderful vacation in the historic Shenandoah. Being a Virginian any chance to travel the Shenandoah Valley is a pleasure. Rarely, due to work schedules, have my wife an I been able to stay for more than a day or two. This time I had seven whole days. I believe this was the first site that I visited yet it seemed to have all that I was looking for to relax and explore in detail parts of the Valley. Where else but among the folks of the valley could you arrive and check in with such ease. The setting is as beautiful as described with a wonderful view of the mountains saying good night at sunset and to awaken us at sunrise. The chalet was a delight with every thing we would need. Even phone service was provided since cell service is spotty at best. Being from the Washington area the last thing we needed was blaring media news. We came to the Shenandoah to get away from that. We used the chalet as a base camp to explore from Waynesboro to Winchester. Seven days of perfect weather did not hamper things while hiking the Skyline but even a steady rain would have been fun here. This is a great place inhabited by wonderful people. We will be back. We really did not want to leave today. Regards, Wilson F. Gaithersburg, MD." -Guest Review from urspider68 "Thank you very much for your help with the cabin last weekend. We had a very nice time, the skiing was great, and the beds were very comfortable (after skiing, that is important!). So thank you very much and have a great weekend!" -Nathanael "Wonderful winter getaway. Myself and a couple of girlfriends spent a weekend at the chalet. What I liked about it was that they had comfortable furnishings and yet felt like it belonged in the woods. It was quiet and peaceful. When looking for a place what stood out about the chalet was that we would be able to walk to a hiking trail within Shenandoah - and we did that while we were there. I would definitely go back again and would recommend it." -K. A. from Globe Trekker "I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know we had a pleasant stay at your cabin. The place was very clean and you thought of everything we need in the kitchen and bathroom. It was nice and relaxing to come back to such a nice place after our ski trip. This was a memorable Christmas for our family. We would definitely like to go back in the future." -Yunhui & Family "We had a most pleasant time at your Shenandoah chalet the past week. The accommodations/facilities were superb. We had a peaceful and quiet vacation and the weekday cost to rent was very fair. We also visited Massanutten Ski area for some snowtubing, Hiking to Rapidan Hoover Camp in Shenandoah National Park, The Mt. Powell hiking trails near your chalet, and on the way back home, we visited Montpelier - home of James Madison. Thank you for the opportunity to rent your most wonderful vacation home! We plan to rent your chalet again in the future. We look forward til the next time." -Pio G. "Lovely, quiet refuge from the craziness of urban life! This chalet is quiet, comfortable, and outfitted with everything we needed for a lovely long summer weekend. We had two teenaged boys with us, and they loved sharing the loft upstairs, away from us adults in the bedroom on the first floor. The chalet was outfitted with all the cookware we needed to prepare several different kinds of meals. The bathroom is roomy, clean, and came with plenty of towels for all of us. We enjoyed the quiet of sitting on the decks, sipping our morning coffees or just reading in peace and stillness. Overall, a delightful rental property, and we would request it again in a heartbeat." -Cynde from Oak Hill, VA "I wanted to send you a note and thank you for a wonderful stay at your cabin. We really enjoyed our vacation. You have a lovely cabin! I even saw some hummingbirds at your flowers outside and found a four leaf clover in the front yard. I miss it already! It is so peaceful there. ... Hope to stay again." -Jennifer B. "Just wanted to let you know we had a great time at your chalet. It was the most relaxing vacation we have every had. You had the place stocked with everything needed. It was just like being at home. I had brought things from home and you already had them there. The view of the mountains was spectacular. We will definitely be renting it again." -Wanda and John B. "Just a quick note to say that we had another awesome experience at the Chalet. The ability to unplug from cell phones, emails, and the constant news cycle so prevalent in DC just multiplies the relaxation factor... we are vowing not to let 3 years pass again before returning and maybe stay when the weather is a little warmer, even though the 6-8 inches of snow on Thursday was so beautiful and the perfect addition to the fire in the fireplace and the Christmas carols on the Ipod! (Not to mention the glass of wine in hand!) And I can't remember the last time that I started and finished a booked in 3-4 days! Our best to you and Steve for a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year!" -David M. "Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our stay in the chalet. Everything was perfect and sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and the wind in the trees, was heaven. And I have to say that we've never rented a condo or cabin as well equipped as yours - just wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for sharing." -Ann D. "We had a wonderful time in your cabin. It was so attractively and comfortably furnished. We loved watching the sun set behind the mountain from the deck and watching the resident rabbit nibbling on the grass in the back." -Alice S. "We absolutely LOVED our stay. What a lovely cabin! Thank you for making us feel so comfortable and pampered. Having pancakes with fresh maple syrup and delicious coffee while looking out at the beautiful mountains will be one of my favorite memories. We will definitely be recommending your beautiful cabin to our families and friends. Thanks you so much for everything!" -Christine C. "Our stay at the chalet was lovely, thank you. It was comfortable, extremely well appointed, and the little touches of hospitality (pancake mix and firewood) were much appreciated. I would definitely recommend the chalet to others." -J.M. "We had the most wonderful time in the cabin over the weekend. My mother and I absolutely loved it-- both the breathtaking views and the very comfortable interior. We hope to come back!" -Natalia B. "The cottage was great. We had a wonderful time.... We are both mountain folks by heart just not location, so it was nice to get away for a while." -Julie S. "Just got home and wanted to send you an email letting you know that Monica and I had wonderful weekend at your Chalet. It was so relaxing, and we fell in love with your place. We most certainly will be visiting again. It was fantastic!!!!" -John and Monica "I just wanted to thank you for the days that we spent at your chalet. We had a very good time and it was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was perfect! Hopefully we'll be back soon." -Hernan "Everything was superb - the linens, bed, nice couch, wonderful magazines, nice landscaping, grill, views. we spent a lot of time out on the deck, reading and just enjoying the remote-ness and beauty. thanks again." -Lalong "Just a thank you for allowing us the privilege of enjoying the hospitality of your chalet. The pancake mix was a great addition to our mornings on the panoramic deck. It was a wonderful weekend for us both and are planning a return trip sometime later. Take care and thanks again for a most enjoyable stay in the mountains." -Melissa and Daniel "Your Chalet was absolutely fabulous. My wife and I could not have asked for a more cozy place for our anniversary. The bay window sealed the deal, its going to be hard for me to top this next year. Thank you again." -Aaron W. "Just wanted to drop a quick note to say we had a fabulous time and your chalet is beautiful! thanks a bunch!" -Jamie "My uncle, Harry Robinson, rented your cabin this past weekend for my sister, her husband, my husband and me. We are from NC and since he was married Sunday, he wanted us to be close by. (His house is also on Overlook Mountain Road) We really enjoyed our stay in your chalet. My husband and I stayed in the loft and loved the openness of it and enjoyed the deck. Once we arrived Friday night, we didn't leave Overlook Mountain Road until Sunday morning!" -Lori "I wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at your cabin. My wife and I were both due for a much needed getaway from our jobs and your cabin made a nice home base for sightseeing around the area and the park." -Jim Z. "Truly wonderful experience, especially for our honeymoon! Our stay was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better cabin or a better location. It was great to get away and not have to worry about a thing." -Heather from Cumberland, MD "Lil Chalet in the woods. Very comfy, was heated and warm when we arrived at 2am. Keys were exactly where we were told we would find them. Very nice for 2 couples wanting to get away from it all. Kitchen was excellent for cooking, very comfy bedding." -Sandy from Levittown PA "My fiance and I were here for a week and loved it. Price is very good, clean, open space." -Ramish from Chicago "Romantic and Relaxing. The Shenandoah Chalet is a place we'd like to retire to... cozy, comfortable, and clean. I forgot peaceful - really peaceful. We enjoyed our entire experiences, our pancake breakfasts, our hikes, our all-night game of scrabble. It's going back to simpler times without shopping, traffic or craziness. When can we move in?" -Jackie & family from Rockville, MD "Excellent getaway choice near Shenandoah National Park. The Shenandoah Chalet is a very good choice as a home base for exploring the Shenandoah Valley or the National Park. Many other interesting places to explore are nearby, with Charlottesville and Monticello about an hour away. The chalet is situated a few miles from the Western park border northeast of Elkton Virginia and convenient to Skyline Drive and, further South, the Blue Ridge Parkway. Although some might see it as a disadvantage, the Chalet is rather isolated, well off the beaten path several miles off Highway 340. However, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet when not out sightseeing. The Shenandoah Chalet is perfect for a quiet getaway and would easily accomodate 3-4 people. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with a great variety of cooking utensils. The loft bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and the small downstairs bedroom could accomodate another person or couple. The owners were very helpful, answering our email questions very promptly. Highly recommended!" -Boilermaker_91 from Oxford, Indiana "Romantic anniversary getaway. The cabin was incredible, The morning view when you wake up is breath taking. We enjoyed it very very much." -Happy Hearts from Richmond, VA "Pre-Baby Get away. My wife and I rented the Chalet while my was pregnant just as a getaway before my son came. The cabin is very charming and we had everything that we needed. There is an awesome view from the front of the cabin. Further, you can hear the nearby stream in the background. A very picturesque setting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as a quiet getaway in the hills." -Zee from Silver Spring, MD "The cabin was really peaceful and easy to find, spending three nights there after our wedding in the area. We explored nearby swimming holes and flea markets and had a wonderful stay." -Leia P. "Wonderful cabin. Exactly as described. Even with the huge storm that moved through we didn't lose power unlike the neighboring town. which was great. Would recommend to anyone." -Frank C. "Just as advertised. I would recommend to a friend." -David N. "What a beautiful place! Stunning house and we had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The house has everything you need and the directions make it easy to find. Lovely." -Laura F. "Great cabin and an enjoyable stay. Thanks!" -Jiasi C. "The place was very clean and cozy. It is in a really good location if you are interested in visiting Shenandoah National Park." -Lauren B. "My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time this past weekend. The cabin had everything, all we had to bring was ourselves and food. I definitely recommend anyone who is interested in getting away for the weekend to stay here." -James B. • Such a perfect, quaint get away. The window in the A-Frame is the perfect view to wake up to. I never wanted to get out of bed.

  • Lovely, quiet space! Definitely would go back again.

    Carolynn2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin and a great location to get away from the city into nature. It's a short drive to the nearby town of Elkton, which has a nice coffee shop and other fun stores/restaurants. Lynn was friendly and quick to reply to questions. Overall, would recommend!

    Ryan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a charming chatlet near Shenandoah! Very clean! A great place to stay for a couple nights!

    Keenan2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, tidy , comfy bed with super soft sheets. Lots of kitchen facility for cooking. Great verandah for star gazing. The only noise we could hear was the cows mooing and the birds chirping.... and of course, at the bottom of the hill is Naked Creek flowing quietly on its way to the Shenandoah River. I highly recommend this cosy place if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle and need quiet time and peace. Real Zen head stuff. Bring what you need to to eat and drink as the shops are quite a distance away. Take a walk or drive up to the top of overlook mountain. The views are spectacular.

    Janice2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a few days with some friends at Lynn's mountain cabin to celebrate New Years 2020 and had a blast. The space is about an hour from Harrisonburg and Charlottesville with Massanutten about 20 minutes away. The cabin is secluded enough to feel out in the woods without being completely in the middle of nowhere, and has one of the best equipped kitchens we've seen in an AirBNB. The beds were comfortable and the loft has a great view out over the mountains. All in all a great value and a good time.

    Ross2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely time at Lynn's house! She was extremely attentive and responsive to our messages, and the directions she provided on how to get around were so helpful. Data and cell signal for major providers do not work in or around the cabin, so the free wifi is helpful as well. We were looking for a secluded getaway however, so it worked out for us! Also she has every pot and pan you could imagine, was able to cook a full dinner every night we stayed there!

    Shalini2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin great for a getaway. Easy access to Shenandoah and the kitchen is remarkably well-equipped. Our time at Lynn’s was wonderful.

  • Driving up the mountain and staying in the yurt was an adventure and so fun! Friendly host and very welcoming! All the amenities you need with eggs and meat for breakfast straight from their farm, if you ask! The place was so cozy, even on the chilly nights. We did hear the watch dogs barking throughout the night but everything else was wonderful. Perfect spot to chill out and relax and go exploring too. Great trails around the property. Loved the local brewery, Bald Top and had lunch at Yoder’s market. Hope to be back again soon!

  • Excellent stay, the yurt is gorgeous and the hosts are friendly, responsive and offer helpful tips on local events. We made a fire in the outdoor fire ring, enjoyed a cozy bath, and explored a nearby winery. Highly recommend!

    Seychelle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Whitt & Martha are very communicative and so helpful with tips about what to do in the area. The yurt is an incredible escape that we have returned two twice over several years. It has not lost its charm and has such an incredible hill top setting.

    Mike2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You MUST book this stay! Our ladies’ trip was truly magical. The Yurt itself was absolutely wonderful. The additional hospitality from Whitt and Martha made our stay spectacular! Will definitely come again!

    Ashley2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • As all other reviewers have mentions, the yurt is amazing! Super comfortable, clean, and perfect for a winter weekend away :) My little car had no problem getting up the road, but I could see it being difficult if there had been snow. There's plenty to do and see nearby, and Whitt and Martha have an excellent guidebook with suggestions as well! Everything was perfect, and I would love to come back!

  • I enjoyed my stay it was peaceful. Enjoyed the random dog running around who came to say hey. It was a great place to relax. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel feel, this isn’t for you. It is still clean and comfortable, but mainly it’s for relaxing.

    Jennifer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome views and trails to explore. Near a bunch of great wineries and places to eat. Cool sauna and pool area to take advantage of 👌🏻😃

    Shaun2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The tree house was a great and unique get away. Small and quaint, but stylish and great for a couples get away. Enjoyed meeting others nearby and would definitely go again. Had a wonderful time and the host was great

    Michael2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and the property felt like an adult playground. There were so many things to explore both around the property and in the common areas. Will definitely return in the future.

    Jazmina2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay in the treehouse at White Lotus. The sense of exploration the communal space provides is intoxicating. The woodstove-fired sauna located down a catwalk into the woods, complete with the cool dip pool, is a fantastic experience. Met cool people. Cooked a big meal in a fabulous shared kitchen space. Hosts were super communicative and helpful. Room was unique, clean, comfortable, and memorable. Already planning a return trip soon.

    Laura2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I love how it’s a little (only 5 miles) off the beaten track. The treehouse is a great concept. The wood burning sauna and dipping pool is awesome! There is a great public kitchen to use and a number of outside gas grills to use.

    Edward2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint home on stilts is beautiful. As described, you will have your own room overlooking the grounds. Connected to everything you need, your bedroom (and bathroom) will have everything you need. We took advantage of the sauna, swing underneath the room, and a stroll along the skywalks. There are some quirky items (you can feel the home move a little, the shower is a bit finiky on temperature control). But these added to the experience. I mean, who can say they’ve showered in a treehouse? Communication was thorough, place was clean, all needs were met and then some. Would stay again.

  • 100% worth it, such a beautiful location.

    Juston2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I travel to a lot of funky places and this place was by far the most charming. I watched ducks come and go on their pond from my bed. The stone work was amazing. Every nook and cranny was filled with little curiosities. The grounds are lovely and worthy of much exploration.

    Jessica2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing and beautiful getaway spot. Unbelievably, the pictures don’t do the experience justice - it is somehow even more lovely than the pictures? The bed was super comfortable, the grounds were lovely, everything was well-kept, and the instructions provided all the information needed to have a pretty independent and quiet stay. I hope I can come back soon.

  • Absolutely amazing location, such a beautiful spot. Loved our stay here and would definitely return in the future!

    Jessica2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as described, a unique little apartment tucked in rural Virginia. The instructions provided were really helpful to find the house off the highway. It was a bit cold when we arrived, and the floor board heating units are slow to heat, but it eventually did get warmer and cozy. A great spot if you’re looking to explore breweries or wineries nearby. It’s a bit of a stretch from Charlottesville (~40 minute drive), but it’s a pretty drive. Overall worth its value! It’s a bit small, so suggest being under 5’9” to be comfortable throughout the apartment, due to low ceilings. Would recommend! Thanks!

  • Amanda was an incredible host - very communicative, and left thoughtful touches all throughout the space, which is adorably decorated, sparkling clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The location is unbeatable and a great value. I will definitely come again!

    Renae2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is one of the cutest I’ve ever stayed in. From the back, off the main road location down to the huge bathtub. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. The bedroom and living area is so cozy, and they have games you can play! We spent the weekend unplugged and connecting with each other, basically. They also have a bunch of things in case you forgot anything- which helped so much when I forgot my flossers (and when I got acid reflux from drinking too much wine!) it’s in a lovely location, 30 min from Charlottesville and an hour from the VA brewery trail. Thanks Amanda!

  • The Welsh Run farm is the perfect woodland getaway. Tucked off of a country rode it is deadcenter between downtown Charlottesville and Shenandoah National Park. Happily for us these were the two places we wanted to go the most! It is a basement studio which gives you the whole floor to yourself with a private entrance. There were cats, dogs and horses which we loved. We felt welcome from the moment we pulled in. It had everything needed for a short or long stay. Full Kitchen, 3/4 bath and a comfy bed. Would certainly stay here again

There is wildlife- small as gnats and big as bears. We wear broad brimmed hats to keep the bugs at bay. If you use your own insect repellent please make certain that you put it on outdoors and away from doors and windows so it does not drift into the Airstream. • A dream home for a mountain vacation! James was a fantastic host, quick to respond, and provided amazing hospitality. Our kids loved all the outdoor activities, especially the zip line! We all loved the hot tub. We also loved watching the sunrise over the lake each morning from the comfort of the warm living room, mug of hot coffee in our hands. PERFECT. We’ll be back! Next time to check it out during warm weather!

  • First of all We like to Thank The Divines for sharing their absolutely lovely cozy, clean and impeccable home with us. Everything one could possibly ask for away from home. James is truly a super host. Quick to respond to the most silliest questions. Much appreciated. We loved everything this little hideaway blessed us with. The cabin - Clean, immaculate, plenty of towels and Beds very comfortable. Lots of extra towels, blankets and pillows for those traveling with a larger family. The lake - Serene The hot tub - clean and relaxing and We were fortunate to have had great weather to be able to utilize it every evening. Our cocker spaniel loved the fact he could pretty much run around as much as he could with his one eye. Hence didn’t wonder off looking for game - (Thank God) Nevertheless enjoyed to wilderness smells. Not to far from Ruckersville. Quaint little town with all the necessities one required. My Husband and I wanted total R&R and we surely got it. Didn’t want to leave:( Thank you James. May you, your family & your beautiful home stay blessed. We will definitely be back!!!!! Highly recommended.

  • James’s place was great! We loved the view of the lake and spent a lot of time on the back porch. The hot tub was truly wonderful after a couple long days of hiking. We even had one day warm enough to get out on the canoes. Such fun! James was a thoughtful and responsive host.

    Elizabeth 2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the lake house! The home was cozy and thoughtfully decorated for the holidays. We thoroughly enjoyed time by the water, hiking in Shenandoah, and relaxing in the hot tub. A wonderful retreat in winter and would love to visit again in summer to take advantage of the lake!

  • Amazing few days away. Beautiful unique space. Great hospitality. Variety of activities , from meditation to sauna to game room. 10/10 would go back . Also the bed is INSANELY comfy . I want to know what pillows and comforter they use so I can buy some ! Quick responses. Affordable.

  • You will not want to leave...wish I lived there. Enjoyed beyond belief🍀

    Sylvia2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful for a relaxing weekend away from the city. I was able to unwind and enjoy the surrounding nature.

    Sharon2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! The room was great and we enjoyed the grounds as well as a nearby hike at Shenandoah. We are already looking forward to a trip back!

    Mary Anne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • When we first entered the Zen suite, it took our breath away. The lighting, the soft music, and the bed created a peaceful atmosphere. Although we didn’t explore much of the campus outside of the bedroom, we found that we still had everything we needed: a bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchenette. The rest of the barn is just as well thought out but chilly during the night. It seems perfect for a retreat. We enjoyed the bathtub both nights we were there, and the bed was clean and comfortable. There were a few bugs throughout our stay but nothing harmful. I’ve stayed at a treehouse before and had the same issue, so I think it’s to be expected when you’re immersed in nature. We just took them back outside! Hopefully we can come back to White Lotus again and take a class and explore the sauna. If we hadn’t planned so many things to do on our trip here, like hiking, axe throwing, and horseback riding, I’m sure we still would have had plenty to do staying near the Airbnb! My questions were answered quickly, and the kitchenette had everything we needed (plates, silverware, fridge, microwave, oatmeal, tea, coffee) minus the stove, which was downstairs in the common area. The place is beautiful (I really love all the wood), and if you enjoy the peace that nature brings along with some thoughtful amenities, I would highly recommend this place.

  • My daughter and I really enjoyed our time here. Its was exactly as I expected and Maria was kind, thoughtful and very respectful. She and the beautiful pups are wonderful and welcoming. The space is very comfortable, clean and fun. And the hot tub and views were perfect! I'm already thinking about coming back by myself or with a friend when I need a relaxing getaway!

    Danyell2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay here. Everything was exactly as advertised. The first thing I did upon arrival was get in the hot tub, which Maria had ready for us when we got there. There were lots of small touches that made this place a pleasant visit.

  • Shadow Wood was completely what we needed! It was a beautiful place to relax, rejuvenate, and get away from the hustle and bustle of life. The hot tub was absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed using Chromecast and all the snacks and amenities that Maria provided for us. Charlottesville was only about a thirty minute drive and the grand caverns were less than an hour away. We got to experience both the city and the country and we loved every bit of it.

  • We enjoyed our night here when we visited for the medeival feast. Hot tub was a real bonus plus towels and robes to use. And our friends who slept on the foldout mattress want to order the same one. Hope to visit again. As hosts we are always curious how others do it. Happy trails!

The White Lotus's most elegant accommodation, Cascina Rococo, features a blend of rustic Italian style and whimsical French "joie de vivre." The room overlooks our property's own lovely organic farm--where in season you'll find a variety of vegetables and fruits to enjoy throughout your relaxing visit with us.
The enchanting light-filled bedroom is replete with classical Rococo furnishings--crafted by the world-renowned Silik Company in the ancient city of Cantu, Italy, near Lake Como. The suite boasts a marble bathroom with a deep jacuzzi tub, and a private outdoor viewing deck. Included are all of the many other amenities that The White Lotus has to offer.
  • Solid place for the price, nice and private. The only con I can think of is the kitchen does not have a separate sink, and bathroom sink was needed to be used.

  • The house was amazing! Exactly the right mix of seclusion and scenery, and right near Shenandoah. The large windows gave beautiful views in the morning to wake up to and the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, silverware, and plates which was very nice. David’s extensive local tips were also very helpful! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful location!

  • We had a great time at this quaint but comfortable cabin. If you have a car (I couldn’t imagine walking) and intend to do some exploring in Shenandoah it’s a great place to stay. The picture window and wood bringing stove were especially great. Not a fully secluded place, there’s another house visible just down the hill but certainly has everything you’d need and more...not to mention some of the most thorough local tips I’ve ever received!

    Nick2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Keith's place was wonderful, with all the amenities we needed. The cabin is secluded and surprisingly spacious.

    Alka2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay and we wish we could have stayed longer. It is really clean and cosy, and the views of the forest from the giant windows are spectacular - you can also enjoy them from the bathtub, which, by the way, has jacuzzi-style bubble jets! Wow! The kitchen has all the equipment you could need for a short stay and the king-size bed is very comfy. The light in the morning is beautiful. The hosts were great communicators and left us to our own devices - perfect! Thank you!

A refurbished 1950's country cottage, adjacent to 80 beautiful acres, overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains. The house has high-speed internet. Enjoy an amazing sunrise while sitting on your bedroom deck sipping coffee. View sunsets from the front porch with a glass of wine purchased from local vineyards. Whether visiting UVa, hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, touring the local wineries, craft breweries, or attending an event at the Barn at Edgewood - Sister's View will make your visit complete.
  • As recently refurbished cottage, Sister’s View is one of the most stylish, and sparkling clean places I’ve stayed in. It has every amenity you can imagine, including fully stocked kitchen supplies, and a great DVD collection. The rain shower and yoga room were my favorite touches. The location is gorgeous and peaceful farmland.

    Brittany2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sister’s View was fantastic. Jim was really easy to communicate with and check-in was seamless. The cottage is cozy and comfortable — perfect after a long day of hiking in Shenandoah! We’ll definitely stay here again next time we stop through the area.

    Francesca2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is all around fantastic. We could not get enough of how nice of a place Sister’s view is, and we didn’t want to leave. The views are picturesque and the cottage is immaculate, along with great customer service. Pair this with the prime location, and it makes a real winner.

    Aaron2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay! Gorgeous sunrise and incredible scenery. Jim was responsive, amazing and the home was beautifully decorated with fabulous special touches to make us feel welcomed from the first moment to the last.

    Kristen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a hidden gem! The pictures alone don’t do this place justice and I would honestly give them 10 stars if I could. My husband and I came for a short getaway to celebrate my 40th birthday. We were surprised with 2 gourmet cupcakes, and a house filled with literally everything one could need. The views were incredible...especially the sunrise and sunset. We took a trip to the Shenandoah Caverns which is about an hour drive from the home. The scenery is so beautiful, this was my first time not minding a long drive! It was truly amazing from beginning to end. We will definitely be returning! Thanks so much Jim!

    Chanel2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I really needed a little get away and Sisters View was beyond the perfect spot. Beautiful views, cozy and clean house, exceptional hospitality, what more could you ask for? We only had one night to enjoy the charm and we cannot wait to book again and enjoy it for an extended stay. 10/10.

    Megan2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing experience! The scenery was breathtaking and the cottage itself was very comfortable and quiet. I would absolutely come back for another stay.

Ken has been helping David to host and maintain the White Lotus and David will continue to co-host with Ken for Shepherds Cottage.
  • Absolutely enjoyed my stay at Ken's cottage. It's the perfect space to isolate, detach, and unplug from all the craziness of the everyday life. Super cozy once you get the fire going and the place warms up, making it a wonderful stay in the winter. But the view and the tub(!) would make it amazing through the rest of the year as well. Totally plan on visiting again in the different seasons. Also, a short (15-20 min) drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah NP and Skyline Drive, perfect location to go for a day of hiking and spot to come back to.

  • The view is phenomenal! I walked in and was greeted by music and a very cozy environment. Huge bed to sprawl out on and enjoy coffee, lovely couch closer to the window if you prefer that, the brick floors really pull it all together. Amazing aesthetic!

  • Comfortable bed and beautiful scenery.

  • Sheppard’s cottage was exactly what I was looking for. We wanted a quiet getaway in a home away from home and that’s exactly what we got! Loved that there were windows to wake up to a beautiful views and there was even a window in the bathroom so that you always have a view of the outside. The cabin is on a hill which makes it feel more secluded and love being in the woods. We enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again! Ken was a great host and we enjoyed all the local tips!

  • What a beautiful and clean spot! 100% coming back again! Thank you!

    Kate2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Ken. Your a great host and quick to respond when I was booking. The cottage is very private and cozy. The wood stove is a great bonus! It was the perfect getaway! I didn’t want to leave! It’s located close to the river with great places to hike nearby. I’ll be back for sure!

Chestnut Hills Cottage is a Romantic Retreat for two! Our mountain retreat is the perfect escape from city life. Located on 40 private acres just a few miles from the Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. This charming cabin has been lovingly restored by owners Alun and Norma Ward. You'll find peace and quiet and all the conveniences of modern life, including quality linens, wifi and a hot tub under the stars. We invite you to experience the charm of our Blue Ridge Mountain Cottage!
This cottage is located near the site of an old mountain homestead. It was located here due to the ever flowing spring located in the valley below. The subsistence mountain farm which was located here fell into ruins in the late 1800s. Many of the old stone walls and the ruins of a small barn are located just below the cottage. For many years a rough, smaller cottage was on this site. In the late 1990s Alun and Norma, owners of the adjacent property, were able to acquire this beautiful, mostly wooded valley and begin plans for Chestnut Hills Cottage. The original cottage was renovated and enlarged, decks built, and hot tub installed. Alun did most of the work on the cottage himself, along with help from family and summer students. While the cottage is surrounded by two acres of lawn, the balance of the property is mature forest with Blue Run, a mountain stream below in the valley. We are located in the center of Virginia Wine Country and 4 miles from the eastern boundary of Shenandoah National Park.
Our cottage is located on the last property on a one mile long private road. This 40 acre property provides a completely private setting for Chestnut Hills Cottage. The views to the east are of the Barboursville mountains, 25 miles away. Views to the west are of Powell Mountains and the valley which leads down to our spring and creek. While we live on the adjacent property, about 1/4 mile away, we rarely see our guests, but we are close by if needed.
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The place was very clean and cozy! The hot tub and robes were a great addition to our weekend getaway. Will definitely come back next year!

  • This was a great place to stay, very private and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommended!

  • Awesome place! Lovely cottage, easy stay. Close enough to Shenandoah (a quick 10min drive) with a magical hot tub under the stars after a day in nature

    Alex2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful rental! Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Cabin was very clean, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. Felt very quiet & secluded - down a gravel road, but within easy driving distance to hiking, wineries, restaurants, etc. The hosts provide a lot of helpful info on area attractions. We hope to come back and stay again!

  • Alan and his family were great!

    Kristen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's place was the perfect base for exploring Shenandoah, particularly for hikes like Old Rag and White Oak Canyon that start outside Skyline Drive. The house was clean, spacious and secluded, and the hot tub was the ideal way to soothe our aching muscles after a long day hiking. Would definitely recommend.

    Laura2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • FANTASTIC!! The cottage is as perfect as it looks in the pictures! We loved the solitude and especially the hot tub! Next trip we are planning to bring our own food so we don't have to leave!!

The cabin itself is perfectly secluded and private while still being close to plenty of great activities in the Shenandoah area. Whitt and Martha are warm and responsive. (They’re also incredible bakers)

  • Amazing retreat in the Shenandoahs! Our family, which includes three kids, was very comfortable. We got farm fresh eggs and cinnamon rolls, and the whole family thought they were delicious. Great location: close to Swift Run Gap and great breweries and wineries, while being removed enough to be very peaceful.

  • The space and amenities of Tumnus house were great, but the stay would not have been quite as memorable without the personal touch and hospitality that Whitt and Martha provided. Will certainly be back in the future!

  • Charming farmhouse with beautiful views (especially from upstairs bedrooms and sitting area) and spacious outside area. Great for taking walks (especially if you bring a pup) or just hanging out. Loved the winery within walking distance but it was closed for the season at the time of our visit. However, I did pick up a bottle of their tasty wine at the Noon Whistle Pottery. We experienced minor inconveniences such as stink bugs/lady bugs and a brief internet outage. Paul was quick to respond and keep us updated on the internet issue. No Verizon cell service - have to connect via wi-fi. We enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing stay!

    Ruth2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, peaceful place for our relaxing weekend near Shenandoah! Would definitely stay again. We enjoyed watching movies on the comfortable sofa, making meals in the spacious kitchen (and warming up next to the gas fireplace), and taking in the beautiful view.

  • My husband, dog, and I had a wonderful stay at the Farmhouse. The house was incredibly clean, very stylish and comfortable, and was in a great location. We enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen, lounging in the den, and enjoying the unseasonably warm weather from the screened-in porch. Our dog loved all the space to explore run around. Paul and Merilee were very quick to respond and help when we had questions. We would love to go back!

    Allison2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was the nicest Airbnb that we’ve ever stayed in! The setting is so beautiful and so private! You can walk across a field to a lovely little winery, and other wineries abound! We actually drove up to Stone Mountain Vineyards, which we highly recommend. The hosts were wonderful, very responsive and quick to answer emails. The bedrooms are so comfy, and the gas stove in the large kitchen sets a beautiful mood. There is only one bathroom, but it was not an issue for us. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. We will definitely be coming back!

  • Lovely little cabin. Clean and stocked with everything we needed for a quiet weekend getaway. Kelly was an excellent host and provided recommendations for local hikes (Skyline Drive is just a few minutes down the road). A+

    Chris2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a romantic, clean place to stay for a weekend getaway! The hot tub and fireplace were so cozy. The only issues we had were that the microwave did not work properly and the fire logs provided were hard to start a fire with without a fire starter log (which would have been nice to know before we got there since we couldn’t have a fire our first night without running to Walmart.) Additionally, the road to get to the cabin is unpaved and a little tight, so I’m glad we had great weather (otherwise driving in the snow would have been pretty impossible.) But we loved the cabin—if we ever come back to Stanardsville we would love to stay here again!

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This super clean and cozy cabin tucked up against the Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Mountains made for a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of DC. We spent lots of time reading, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful views from the hot tub. The hot tub and wood burning fireplace really made our stay incredible. We thought about adventuring out during our stay but we didn’t want to leave the comforts of the cabin. The bed was super comfortable too. We will absolutely be back!

    Brett2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Clean quiet cabin what more more could you ask for!

  • If you want privacy and coziness, this is the cabin for you. It is within an easy driving distance of great restaurants and shopping and fun places in Charlottesville. Everything was easy and we lacked for nothing. The beauty of the scenery from every window was amazing. And the experience of a clear, cold, star filled night in the hot tub was beyond words!

    Maureen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Romance Ridge was an absolute pleasure. It far exceeded our expectation. The cabin is well built, clean and modern. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Our host was very responsive and incredibly kind. I highly recommend staying at Romance Ridge if you are looking for a nice getaway.

  • This is a charming little cabin for a week or weekend away. You're within driving distance of a number of sites in the Charlottesville area, and have a nice quiet retreat to enjoy. The views are spectacular and waking up with the morning sunrise was a real highlight.

The Tiny House is open. Email me for info on our extra precautions. Looking to (re)treat yourself? Artists, writers, nature-lovers...welcome! The Tiny House is a place to reconnect with the wild and precious - within and around you. Located on a farm at the outskirts of Shenandoah National Park, this is a place to immerse yourself in beauty, simplicity, and down-to-earthiness. Hike the mountains. Visit local wineries or art galleries. Befriend a goat. Or, read a good book at pond-edge.
I'm still accepting weekend guests and taking extra precautions to sanitize the space - consistent with CDC/WHO guidelines. Let us support your physical and mental health needs in a gorgeous location. I have opened up onsite trails for your use - complete with mountain streams, rock outcroppings, and a fern glen. You can book sessions for my Resilience Counciling (see Facebook page) while you are here. I can also teach you to forage for wild foods and you can purchase fresh garden items when they are available. Ravens Ridge Farm is featured in my book, RidgeLines: A View of Nature and Human Nature (2019). This is a working farm in a natural setting. Three lovable working dogs will bark during the day (it's their job to protect the goats and sheep), but are typically inside by 10pm. Adorable, yet overly narcissistic, cats are likely to stop by for some cuddling. Wildlife abounds. You might get lucky enough to see one of the resident bears, foxes, or bobcats. During spring and summer nights you may hear chorusing frogs at the farm's three ponds, perhaps an owl, maybe a coyote. For a virtual introduction to the beauty and beasts, visit my Fine Art America gallery. Search Jamie K. Reaser on Fine Art America. Notes: I will make every reasonable effort to accommodate special needs. If you require particular lodging conditions (e.g., due to health concerns), please contact me before booking in order to ensure that I can fully support your stay. If this lodging is not a good fit for you, I may be able to suggest other local Airbnb options that will meet your specific needs. Ravens Ridge Farm is currently for sale. I will be opening the booking calendar on a monthly basis in order to reduce the likelihood that booking conflicts arise when the property goes under new ownership. I'm currently accepting bookings through June.
Shenandoah National Park's Central District entrance is just 4 miles away by road. In 10 minutes you can be in downtown Stanardsville, in 20 minutes Ruckersville, and a 50 minute drive will enable you to enjoy all the amenities of a university town - either Harrisonburg to the West or Charlottesville to the South. Art, antiques, boating, breweries, cideries, distilleries, dancing, dining, fishing, hiking, rafting, rock climbing...there is so much to do in central Virginia! Search Explore Greene County for local tourism information.
  • Very charming setting, quaint house, and beautiful land. Enjoyed our stay!

  • Jamie clearly puts a lot of thought into making the Tiny House a wonderful place to stay. The farm and surrounding area is beautiful and makes for a restorative get-away from the crowded, busy lives many of us lead. Highly recommend!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An art-graced, charming farm employing sustainable gardening practices and supportive of wildlife as well as friendly pets including goats and a sheep. The place is very special, nestled in a sunny spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains with sparkling streams below an abundance of mountain laurel and a pleasant hike to a gorgeous vista of the South River Valley. The Tiny House is a delightful place to stay.

    Deborah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Highly recommended! An incredibly peaceful location just outside Shenandoah National Park. You can feel your soul being cleansed as you immerse yourself in the woods. The "tiny house" isn't quite as tiny as you might think -- more like a small three-room apartment. We were quite comfortable and had everything we needed. The place was sparkling clean. The host is quick to communicate, warm, gracious, willing to share her knowledge of biology and the surrounding area. We love her...

    Eric & Erica2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny house was nicer than the photos I saw. Clean and cozy rooms, adorable animals and stars in the night sky. Also, Jamie was a very kind host. I think staying here is one of the good choices to experience Shenandoah National Park.

    EUNJI2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful, secluded place with all the right touches to make you feel cozy and at home.

    Cora2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is small, but it was definitely way more functional than I thought it would be. It did not feel cramped and instead, was a perfect amount of space for a cozy winter weekend away. We loved watching the goats and petting the friendly cats on the property. There was also an alphabetized "where everything is" page in the binder, which was super helpful when we were cooking and didn't know where to find things! We had all these grand plans for exploring the area and doing some hiking, but we ended up spending the entire weekend in the tiny house drinking coffee, reading, and playing board games. It was the perfect weekend away from the city.

    Keisha2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie’s tiny house is so wonderful! Hidden away in a magical oasis filled with birds and lush trees. Waking up to the sounds of the peaceful stream. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Jamie provided excellent directions and details for finding things to do. We fell in love with the cats and enjoyed morning walks around the gorgeous property greeting her goats and admiring the view. Highly recommended!!

Cozy, log cabin with mountain views, near wineries, Shenandoah National Park, and Charlottesville. For the business traveler, we are located 10 minutes from IIHS, 15 minutes from NGIC and 20 minutes from the Charlottesville airport.
We live in a log home on 10 acres with beautiful mountain views! We look forward to welcoming you to stay at our newly built guest log cabin! Since we do live next door, we can easily be reached if any need arises. We have two horses, and a donkey and love to tell all about them if you would like! Our cabin has a microwave, small refrigerator, sink, and a coffee maker.
Across the street is a dairy farm! We have the best of both worlds, a country setting with mountain views, but close enough to the cities of Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, and Culpeper. On a clear night, you can see the stars. The mountain views change with the weather, the season, and the time of day. It never gets old! Staying in a log cabin is awesome. Ruckersville and Stanardsville are small towns and have some unique shops that you won't find elsewhere. The people are so friendly.
  • Carolene's cabin is better than described! It's cozy and very clean, thoughtful touches such as q-tips and extra bath towels, awesome guidebook filled with restaurants and things to do nearby, and sweet treats available at check-in. The view was incredibly beautiful, with horses roaming the fields from our balcony and mountains in the distance. We would absolutely recommend staying here!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin, clean & cute. Being able to see the stars clearly made it even better! Gorgeous views. Definitely recommend!

    Alyssa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to stay! The view is GORGEOUS, close to wineries & such but far enough to feel secluded. We had plenty of privacy but the hosts were easy to reach via phone as well as in person. Would most definitely recommend Carolenes place!

    Brittany2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The check-in process was seamless, the views were spectacular, and the cabin was both well-appointed and immaculately clean. This is the perfect place for a peaceful weekend out in the country.

    Lucas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Carolene’s cabin. It was just as clean as it was last year, when we stayed. We love staying here because it’s in the middle of all of our favorite wineries.

  • Pondview was great. We went for a quiet weekend and were not disappointed. We loved the fireplace and the big comfy beds! The house was very clean and had every appliance you could need ( coffee included!). Very serene and nearby to several vineyards. Pondview is quite spacious with lots of storage furniture if you were staying for longer or traveling with friends. I really appreciated that the hosts sent rules and guidebook of suggestions for restaurants in advance of arriving. It was nice to know in advance what places had veg options. Overall, grounds were nice but we did not walk around too much as pondview was everything we needed.

Mulberry Spring is a historic Virginia property dating back to the 1750s. It was built by William Monroe, a successful landowner and benefactor of public education in Greene County. This 15 acre property located in a mountainside neighborhood hosts pre-civil war structures, a variety of fruit trees, and authentic stacked rock walls. Nearest towns for shopping are Standardsville (15 min. drive) or Ruckersville (20 min. drive). Both towns host a variety of antique shops. Charlottesville is about a half hours drive and is chock full of fine restaurants, shops, and entertainment opportunities. History buffs will enjoy visiting the three presidents' homes nearby: Ashlawn, home to Monroe (30 miles/50 min.), Monticello, home to Jefferson (28 miles/30 min.) and Montpelier, home to Madison (22 miles/26 min.). Guests will also enjoy visiting the many wineries in the surrounding area.
  • Such a beautiful place to stay! Updated, stylish, and comfortable! We would love to return someday.

    Teresa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience staying at the Mulberry Spring's Vintage Barn! The Airbnb met all of our expectations as detailed on the listing. The location is perfect and in close distance to local wineries, breweries and of course a quick drive to Charlottesville. We plan to come back for future stays during the different seasons to enjoy all the beautiful nature of the surrounding area. Perfect weekend getaway.

  • This is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway! It was private, cozy, and beautifully decorated, and I loved the unique loft area. If our travels ever take us to the same area, we’d choose this place again in a heartbeat!

  • We had a great time. It was a beautiful place!

    Sean2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our time at Mulberry Springs was exactly what we wanted- a wildly different change from urban life. This location is very remote so prepare to go off grid- grabbing groceries for a longer stay will be helpful. Whether you’re seeking nights out in Charlottesville (40 min drive) or cozy nights in watching movies, the barn offers a unique and charming country getaway.

    Julia2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Mulberry Spring. It is close to the Shenandoah Valley National Park entrance and to Charlottesville so there is plenty to do in the area. The barn itself was very cozy especially during our November stay. The photos and description were accurate. I would recommend the barn at Mulberry Spring to anyone visiting the area.

The Cabin on Windy Knoll is a secluded getaway 45 minutes NW of Charlottesville Virginia and 2 hours SW of Washington, D.C., convenient to both the towns of Madison and Stanardsville, Virginia. Windy Knoll is located on a dirt and gravel road on Kirtley Mountain. Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, the Rapidan Wildlife area, Middle River and the Rapidan River are all easily accessible within minutes. Five wineries and a new brewery are within an easy drive if you are feeling social.
  • Cozy cabin in the mountains. Secluded and beautiful view of sunrise/sunset from the living room couch. The road to get to the cabin is a gravel road and hilly, not much of an issue because had an SUV but something to note before going. It was about a 40 min drive to the entrance to Shenandoah due to being on back roads but a beautiful drive to get out there. About an hour drive to downtown Charlottesville. Nice kitchen/stove for cooking and has all amenities needed to make meals. Bed is comfortable as well. Great place for a short getaway!

  • Super cute, my fiancé and I enjoyed our getaway. Appreciated the spices, and kitchen basics for cooking.

  • Six stars! This may have be one of my favorite stays or all time. GPS leads you directly to the cabin, always a great start! Please note the drive up may be tricky if you do not have an SUV or AWD vehicle. The cabin is extremely secluded, extremely quiet, just what you need for an escape from busy every day life. The kitchen is stocked with seasonings, pots and pans, and coffee. There is also an outdoor grill. The space is beautiful. So many welcoming and unique touches, along with tons of extra pillows & blankets. Antiques everywhere you look, made this the most unique stay I’ve ever had. Hiking was about 30 minutes away, and please know that skyline drive has a $30 entrance fee. Also it’s good to know that there aren’t many grocery stores or restaurants close to this property so make sure you pack snacks and drinks accordingly. We stopped at Bald Top Brewery (about 25 minutes away) with our pup and had the most fun night. Great beer, food truck, and fantastic view! I would definitely recommend this space, the host, and the area! Highly pleased with our stay and would return.

  • Magical rustic lodge surrounded by trees. Super comfortable beds, convenient little kitchen and friendly, helpful hosts. By car, the location is 20 minutes from the Switch Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park. Had planned to bike Skyline Drive from there, but there was black ice from rain the night before, so I did a little section of the Appalachian trail hiking to the Hilltop summit. It was a very enjoyable hike (climbing about 1200 feet) and I totally recommend it!

  • We love White Lotus, we've been out there many times and had so many powerful and wonderful experiences there! We have become great appreciators of their HOT wood-fired sauna and cool or (spring-feed ambient temp.) COLD water dip. This is an extraordinarily stimulating and healthy thing to do for your body, your health, and gives a sense of self-mastery. I'm still learning to relax in cold water for up to 3-minutes. I am an appreciator of being naked ... this is one of the few places, we know of where women and men are permitted to share space naked. This aspect of White Lotus reminds us pleasantly of our recent (2019) enjoyment of Burning Man and regional burns. David has lots of experience as a host and has developed a well-refined sense of what folks need to feel welcome, comfortable and cared for. After that there is little, meaning then things shift to clean, uncluttered, open, quiet, peaceful, Zen-like. We'll be back for more and soon! Thank you, David!

  • This was our third time staying at White Lotus and we love it every time. We brought friends with us this time, and they loved it as well!

    Katie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place is a hidden treasure nestled just off the beaten path. The Castle Suite is unique in its stone structure with a beautiful view from the tub / shower. The wood fire sauna was absolutely amazing after a cold day on the slopes of Massanutten. We will very likely be back to enjoy more aspects of the White Locust Eco-Spa when we have a bit more time. Definitely a great price for facilities available.

    Luke2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Will absolutely be coming back. Clean, cozy, great spot to re-charge. The grounds and amenities are worth the price alone.

    Keith2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little small off the road retreat! Very quaint and highly recommend vs a traditional hotel!

    Brendan & Rebecca2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem of a place. The campus is really cool to explore and everyone there is extremely kind. The sauna and chill pool were rockin. And the kitchen in the Caste Suite where we stayed was beautiful. I would highly recommend. Our suite was full of exposed rock by the fire place and bathroom, which made for a very down to earth and cozy experience. Excited to come back for the Hobbit House

The whole compound has a wide range of options, from treehouses to meditation rooms. I do not have one single complaint. Everything was perfect. Thank you!
