Celebrate the outdoors while enjoying the comforts of an indoor environment. Situated nearby downtown St Ignace, this yurt is as serene as it gets. The yurts are in a separate part of the campground but you have full access to the camp’s restrooms and showers, as well as the laundry of the forested Tiki RV Park and Campground.
The yurt is situated in the covered woods of the campground, close by to a foot trail leading to downtown (1/4 mile walk). The space is equipped with lights, a fan, a heater and a queen size bed.
We are located just off the main road, however it feels like miles. The woods make for great cover from all the sounds of St. Ignace. We are also within walking distance to the ferry docks located downtown which makes it a great spot to base your adventures out of!
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was a bit chilly but we prefer it that way! The heater is very small so if you prefer it warmer, then I would say to book during the warmer months! The space was very clean when we arrived and Sandra was super sweet and accommodating! She was very quick to respond every time we had a question or needed something. There’s also a lock and key to lock up the yurt when you’re not there. It’s very close to the ferry to Mackinaw (which was what we were there for)! The walk from the yurt to the bathroom and shower was also only about a minute. We didn’t use it, but there is also a dryer and washer available! Our firewood that Sandra gave us got wet from the rain but there are store nearby that sells them so if you need anything, it’s only a little drive away. Overall, we had no problems at all and had an amazing stay and would love to book again in the future!g

  • Cute yurt. Even in the middle of October the blankets and small heater kept us warm.

    Monique2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and place to enjoy a luxurious camping style.

    Brandon2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, cozy, and picturesque! Lovely little yurt in a nice quiet campground. We didn’t use the showers, but the restrooms were clean. It rained in the night, and we stayed nice and dry! The bedding was warm, and we were happy there was a little heater. We enjoyed the firepit, and enjoyed our very quiet and cozy evening! I would come again!

  • Super cute and clean! Great location. Nice alternative to camping with hospitable touches.

    Alivia2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay. A little like camping, but on a bed, with electricity, awesome lighting, free bundle of wood, warm showers and bathrooms nearby.

  • Loved the place. It was clean and was very cute.

Vacation in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! On Golden Pond is a picturesque 6 acre lake. Swim, fish, hike on the private trails on this 42 acre piece of paradise. Only 14 miles North of the Mackinac Bridge. Minutes from Ferry Service to Historic Mackinac Island, Saint Ignace, Hessel, Cedarville, Sault Saint Marie, Drummond Island. Literally in the center of the Eastern Upper Peninsula! Only 1 mile off I-75! Complete with a 2 car garage, game room, bonfire pits, and 42 acres to roam.
This 3 bedroom, 1 bath ranch home has a deck that overlooks Golden Pond. There are 42 acres to roam and explore. Don't be surprised to see white tailed deer running through the woods. Eagles fly overhead and you'll see fish jumping in the lake. Please "catch and release" so others can enjoy the fight of a northern pike or a small mouth bass.
This property is so close and yet so far away. The perfect spot to land for your UP vacation!
  • We had a wonderful stay on Golden Pond. The home was perfectly secluded, but yet close enough to go on day trips to Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon Falls, and Mackinac Island. Only about a 15min drive to St. Ignace. The home had everything we needed for our stay; linens, dishes, working appliances. We enjoyed exploring the property, having fires, and sitting on the porch watching the rain. We hope to plan another trip here soon!

    Ariel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • On Golden Pond was a perfect UP destination. 15 minutes from St Ignace and around an hour or less to Whitefish Point, Point Iriquois, Soo Locks, the Falls, and more! Great for our family to do any of those things but also just hang out the house. We really loved our vacation and having the option to just enjoy the property.

    Leah2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The epitome of an Up-North lodge-style cabin. Very secluded. Definitely considering a second visit.

    Devon2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was so refreshing!! The previous reviews are pretty spot on for this property. As long as you're not needing the frills of a Hilton... This is your quintessential "away from it all" and quality time with your family, type of experience. Phones will work down near pond or sometimes on deck which was perfect for us! The pond was clear and had plenty of wildlife around to keep our 3 year old entertained during canoe rides. We didn't end of hooking a pike...but they let us know they were watching. The house was clean and well decorated... The pictures don't do it justice. A hidden gem for sure. Thank you Jeff for great communication when needed! We absolutely loved it and I hope to be back in the future to relax and unwind again. 🙏

  • Golden Pond is such a peaceful and relaxing location! The pond is great to fish on and play in, the property is huge and secluded other than one neighbor, and the cabin has plenty of games to keep you occupied during the rainy days. The property is also close to the highway for quick and easy access to downtown St. Ignace. If you are looking to relax, do a bit of fishing, and enjoy some peace and quiet, then this is the place for you!

    Catharina2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • On Golden Pond lives up to its name. Fantastic swimming & fishing. We had so much fun being unplugged from the internet & enjoying the outdoors. Lots of space outside for kickball & other outdoor activities. Nightly campfires were a treat & it is very secluded, which we liked the privacy. I would recommend to anyone.

    Angelene2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was a very good host and this was a peaceful and relaxing retreat.

    Kathy2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay 14 miles north of St. Ignace, MI. The cabin/house is beautifully decorated. We absolutely enjoyed the pond, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and the fire pit. We enjoyed the games and puzzles. It’s close enough to the highway but yet you’re out away from everything. It’s so quiet and peaceful on the property. There are plenty of beds and blankets but only one bathroom. Bring bug spray, lots of mosquitoes. The water does have a odor like rust and sulfur. Otherwise I give it 5 stars.

This cute and cozy cottage has beautiful water views, shallow entry to the water and views of passing lake freighters. It is approximately 16 km from quaint Richard's Landing which offers groceries, LCBO, restaurants, artisan shops, a marina and a 24 hour clinic. The bright sunny cottage has two bedrooms, laundry, kitchen and living room. The beautiful expansive yard is level with fire pit, dock and shallow entry in to the water. Included with the rental is a pedal boat, kayak & life jackets.
Midnight Retreat is a rustic waterfront cottage perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway. We have satellite TV for your convenience, however, no WiFi. There are several books available for your reading pleasure, however, please do not take them with you. The cottage offers a beautiful sun room and a large deck for spending time. The kitchen is well equipped and should have everything you need.
The cottage is in a quiet area of the island. The property offers some privacy, but neighbours are on either side.
  • The space is just like the pictures. Exactly as advertised. The sunroom was beautiful. We spent lots of time on the deck and by the water. We used the paddle boat and kayak but didn't swim since it was a bit too cold and the water was murky. We saw deer several times in the area and the backyard!! A young male and a momma and two babies. The neighbors are the friendliest people. I loved the community we saw out there. The camp is a perfect cozy size. We were very comfortable. Shower and bathroom were good. The water pressure in the shower was perfect. When I had an issue with the toilet seat, I let Heather know. Lots of cutlery and plates and glasses. The fridge is a little older so we were gentle with it. The camp ground was neatly kept. The grass was clean of sticks and junk. If I had one suggestion, it would be to add a first aid kit for guests. You never know you need it till you do. FYI for anyone out there, I am with virgin mobile and did not have service at the house. I had to walk down the street to get service. If you are expecting to use your phone, you might roam on an American tower.

  • Quick response time and the yurt was exactly as described. Sandra was nice enough to answer a message from us, after hours, and after our check out, when my husband forgot his hygiene bag in the shower area. She then graciously brought it out to us, in the cold, with a smile. We would absolutely book here again. Hoping to be booking a group next time. Highly recommend!

    Jannett2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice place tucked up in the woods, yet still close to town. The included bundle of firewood was a nice touch. We were able to enjoy a fire and make some s'mores at the end of a long, busy day. We will be returning.

    Timothy2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra was very helpful. She taught us how to make camp fire. Her yurt was super clean. It was very romantic. The only thing is that you might want to grab a heater at this time of the year. The one in the yurt doesn't do really anything.

    Mengying2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, nice time, thoughtful amenities. Twinkle lights, heater Incase the night got cool. Quick responses to questions. Just all around great! It was quite late when we arrived and we could not find our site. Sandra got up at 1am and got in her golf cart and drove us to our site. Very nice! We appreciated that immensely.

    Merry2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a perfect little spot. Close to everything but tucked back into the woods so you feel secluded. We told Sandra we’d be arriving after dark, and she left a string of lights on for us in the yurt. It was so welcoming! Bed is comfy, Yurt is spacious, We slept cozy and dry even as it rained, and Sandra’s communication and extra touches were lovely. All in all this was a charming stop over stay as we traveled north and I’d book again in a heartbeat.

    Trace2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for the night. The best part was not having to pack up a wet tent to head home in the morning!!! Also the complimentary bundle of fire wood was nice. Thanks again!!

    Dan2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay not too far from the lake. Bed and pillows were comfy. Would recommend!

    Joshua2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute Yurt tucked away in a campground right by downtown St.Ignace. There is an actual bed with a bed frame that was extremely comfortable. Clean linens were provided with several pillows. Cute lights wrapped around the Yurt making it easy to view at night. They also provided a heater/fan and flash light. It also has electricity so you can plug in your phone. I loved how dog friendly the park was also. Perfect to take a day trip to the Island!

Victorian Villiage #5 is a loft-style studio with eclectic cottage decor. Lake Huron and Mackinac Island are visible from this charming lakefront property.
The Victorian Village was built in 1989 as a commercial property and today is a mixed-use building managed by St. Ignace Community Development. #5 features a 15-foot vaulted ceiling and a large picture window in the sleeping nook.
Victorian Village is located across the street from the Mackinac Straits Health System, and is just one mile from Shepler's and Star Line ferry docks.
  • We had such a great stay here! This place was perfect my my sister and me to have our long weekend vacation. We really liked the location, close enough to get to the ferry docks quickly to go to the island. We were so surprised we didn’t hear any noises from neighboring buildings - it was perfectly quiet! We thought bed wasn’t as comfortable as we read in other reviews, but the bed was bigger than we expected and we slept well. I also loved the decor and cute touches, and my sister really appreciated that there are guide books and tourism brochures on the table that we used to decide what to do each day. Thanks for a really great stay!!

  • Very stylish and clean. The bed is comfortable, however there is a seam down the middle for what seems to be two separate mattresses. Sheet and pillows are very soft. Close to everything you need.

  • Cutest little place right on the water. The decor follows a theme without being the least bit kitschy. Highly enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely stay again. Bed was very comfortable and the fireplace was a wonderful addition during the rainy night I spent here. Highly recommend!

Centrally located, downtown, 800 sq. ft. heated solarium suite - bedroom, living room, SMALL bathroom and kitchenette (toaster oven, microwave, electric frypan, mini fridge - not a full kitchen) and sleeper couch, attached to the back of my home. Private entrance in the back, winter access thru the garage. Free laundry facilities in the garage. Driveway parking. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Fenced in backyard with fire pit. Solarium is full of plants. Beautiful front water view plus gardens.
Lovely, plant-filled, private solarium suite attached to the back of my home, close to downtown, view of the bay from the front of the house.
Nice quiet, safe location, walking distance to ferries to Mackinac Island, restaurants, boardwalk and shops.

  • The solarium is even more beautiful in person. Jill truly provided a wonderful place for us to stay and made my first airbnb experience a fantastic one. I'd recommend to anyone staying in the area and we can't wait to come back again!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jills place is in the perfect location. It has beautiful views from the front of the house of the lake. We went up to hike and made the trip to Tahquamenon which was only a hour and 20 mins away from her place and her location was perfect for the way back down to the bridge. There’s also several trails like the straits around Jills, food and shops in St. Ignace. Thank you!

  • This is our second visit and we are in love with this place! We cannot wait to go back!

    Lesly2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved starting at Margi & Jessi's! The yurts are clean, comfortable, and warm, and the firepits and hammocks make for a relaxing stay. Margi and Jessi are incredibly hospitable and were full of tips on things to do on the island. We hope to be back!

    Andrea2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place for a secluded vacation! This was definitely a memorable experience. We missed the last ferry to the island but managed to find a private boat owner willing to take us out there (which is evidently rare, so check the ferry schedule!). The island is big and we didn't bring a car, but the local residents consistently picked us up and were delightful to talk to. The yurt was perfect - cozy, away from distractions, and you could breathe the fresh air and hear the waves. We walked to the beach, the tavern, and the general store. We were able to relax and refresh more than in a long time. Margi and Jess were extremely kind and the entire property felt like art.

    Tim2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The loveliest hosts! Their children were the best playmates for my daughter. The yurt and accompanying amenities were pristinely clean. Kitchen is much larger than expected and super easy to maneuver. Less off the grid than you think - the one restaurant on the island is next door (and has a great juke box), the shop is a couple miles away, and lots of people during high season.

    Aubrey2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay off-grid, in nature but with great commodities. Yurt is comfortable, bathroom and kitchen facilities are more than adequate. Loved the fire pit and beach access on site! Bring water shoes if you plan on swimming, make ferry reservations ASAP, and bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper (friendly rooster, fog horns, other guests, etc.). Will keep this rental in mind for future adventures.

    Gabrielle2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place A hidden gem 💎 Margi & Jessi were very wonderful people and we had the best time Thank you so much my daughter and I will be returning

  • We fell in love with BBI! It was awesome and already booked out next trip in October!

    Lesly2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • What Margo and Jessi have done with the property is remarkable. One can see the time and effort they put into the yurts. Valerie and myself felt welcomed and had an amazing time on the island exploring. This island is perfect for those who don’t need much to keep them entertained and to relax. We would definitely come back.

  • Great place very close to the lake shore. Amazing place to just unwind for a couple days

    Karan2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Comfortable beds, heat works great, good hot water and pressure, super soft towels, comfortable couch and nice view! I’d stay here again. 🙂

    Samantha2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing!! Carol is such a great host. We plan on returning in the summer time!

    Skylar2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and stylish accommodations over a garage with great views of the water. Plenty of space for 2-4 people. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night - would have loved to stay longer. The beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows and towels. Although we did not cook, there seemed to be everything needed to make meals. There is a cute balcony to watch the stars and sunset/sunrise from. A very peaceful and quiet location! I would recommend having your own vehicle - there are no ubers around and taxis are hard to come by too. If we do it again, we would definitely rent bikes. We like to walk so we had a nice walk to the Strait's Park and had a great view of the bridge. The nearest restaurants are 1.3+ miles away and there are not any convenience stores nearby, so make sure you have everything you need before settling in. We enjoyed the Village Inn for dinner. Close to the ferries if you want to check out Mackinaw Island - we were there for the last weekend of the season and saw everything shutting down. We did the Great Turtle Half Marathon - absolutely stunning and we were lucky to have great weather!

    Luanne2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place is perfectly located if you're planning a day trip to Mackinac Island. It was clean and comfortable. We hope to be back!

    Leigh2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • If there is a category for "beyond sparkling clean," this is the property! The weather was cool and rainy, but we still really enjoyed the view through the balcony windows. This is an inviting, cozy place, and the beds are super comfy. Great location for exploring the U.P. Very quiet, peaceful, and so enjoyable.

    Janet2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place that is close to Lake Huron and views of the Mackinaw Bridge. Carol was a very friendly host and her home was spotless. Would stay again!

  • Clean, comfortable condo with great detailed touches, recommendations for island fun, and host is great at quick messaging. It’s hidden away from the Main Street on the island so it’s quiet, yet close enough to bike or taxi to island activity.

    Alexa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly is a superb host. She’s very responsive and provides all the details we could ever need from the proper way to order a horse taxi to how to enjoy her beautiful place. The location is also excellent. It’s a short walk to a fabulous restaurant and the surrounding area is peaceful. You can’t ask for a better stay on the island!

  • Great location for the price!

    Doug2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a studio condo with a lovely view of the lake. Kelly is quick to respond to any questions. Check in was easy via a coded lock. She offers the use of bikes, which really is the best way to see the island. The condo is 1.8 miles from town center - it's mostly downhill to town center and mostly uphill to the condo from town center. The walk is beautiful! and easy if you like to walk. You can catch a horse and buggy taxi for $7.50 per person. The shower is awesome! There is a small fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. All and all a great and affordable place to stay on lovely Mackinac Island.

Very private and absolutely quiet, if you're looking, definitely recommend this place! Plenty of diners and places for meals right there as well.

  • Lucas was a great host. He was there (via text) at a moments notice and answered all questions. The entire place was incredible! Comfortable to the max!! Spread out for the ten of us - there was always something to do. We all enjoyed our stay immensely. Day two and we were planning the next trip and other trips (such as girls weekend) - it couldn't be better. Did I mention "comfort"??? Pictures are now making their rounds. Thanks, Lucas!!!!!

  • A beautiful spot for a relaxing week!

  • This cabin is a great find. It’s picture-perfect setting on a quiet cove of Lake Huron is located about 30 minutes from St. Ignace ferry to Mackinac Island and two miles from idyllic small town of Hessel. Both town and property are full of charm and character. There was something for everyone in our family from canoe and 4 kayaks, small motorboat, dock house, unattached private suite, and a quiet back road to Hessel great for biking and running. Quick communication, easy instruction, and the simplicity of the property made our stay in the UP free from hassle. Thanks again. We’ll be back to enjoy this property again!:)

  • The place was perfect, just what we were looking for. It is located right on the lake with lovely sunrise views. We spent our evenings watching the lake by the firepit. The decor was cute and woodsy and the kitchen had everything you could need. St. Ignace is a great central place to stay to access Mackinac Island, Drummond ISland, and Wilderness State Park within an hour drive or less. The hosts, Bob and Tom, were friendly and helpful. We told them ahead of time we are into bird watching and they had a whole stack of brochures and references waiting for us. The ideas we got from this info greatly enhanced our trip. Absolutely would stay here again!

Cute Older Rustic Cottage recently updated.
Very Rustic and the Location is near Snow's Bar and Cedarville downtown. In the Les Cheneaux Island area.
  • Cozy home. Beds were comfortable.

  • Clean, spacious and cute house. Backyard was big for dogs to play outside. Bedrooms were clean and loved the decorations.

  • The charming, cozy and roomy cottage is a block from famous Snow's channel in the Le Cheneaux Islands of Lake Huron, about 30 miles from the Mackinac Bridge in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is in the woods and close to Cedarville with restaurants nearby.

  • This was a quiet place to stay. Home is roomy and beds were comfy! The upstairs was great for our teenage son to have for himself. Our little guy wanted to be upstairs, but felt too far away from the master bedroom so he slept in the cozy bedroom by the master downstairs. Wi-Fi signal and directv worked flawlessly. The backyard was wonderful. The deer came to snack on the trees in the morning. Beautiful! We enjoyed our stay in the UP.

Simplicity By Design. Enjoy the simplicity of your own Yurt with amazing views of The Straits Of Mackinaw. Unique, simple and beautiful, listen to the sounds of the water while you sleep. Embrace all the island has to offer, a hidden treasure for the outdoors, fishing, kayaking, biking - it is all here for you to enjoy. Private yurt with shared outdoor kitchen space, heated shower and outhouse. Make this the perfect couples getaway, or rent all 3 and bring family and friends! Off-Grid
  • We had a fantastic time staying with Margi and Jessi! The yurt was clean and comfortable, even in cooler weather. They were fantastic hosts, and took great care of us. Plenty of amenities, from the outdoor kitchen (with outlet, so you can charge your phone, if need be) to the heated shower. As for the island...holy cow. Friendliest people, unbelievable serenity and beauty on Bob-Lo. If you want to go off the grid, this is the place for you. And the stars at night were something I’ll never forget. Not only are we planning on coming back, we may have found our retirement spot!

    Cody2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fun place. Will be back.

    Charles2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in the yurt. It’s the only way to camp!

    Christina2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Margi and Jessi's place if you want a tranquil, comfortable, zero-hassle weekend on Bois Blanc Island. Their place was exactly what I was looking for. All I wanted to do was spend the weekend sleeping in, reading, and being left alone, and I was able to accomplish those goals magnificently. If you're into sorta hippie art, they have a shop full of art they created there on the island.

    Reed2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Instead of a camping trip, my son casually suggested we go glamping. I laughed & replied that I didn't think glamping was available in the areas we were interested in going. Oh boy was I wrong!!! First of all, we never even thought about going to Bois Blanc Island. But we came across this property on the AirBnB site, & we were instantly intrigued. THIS IS GLAMPING FOLKS!!! The yurts were beautiful & so clean. Beds & bedding were so comfortable. Although it was a vault toilet, it was the cleanest & nicest I've ever used. The screened in kitchen was amazing. But what I will remember the most are the hosts. Margi & Jsssie are the most amazing humans. As others had stated in their reviews, they made us feel like part of the family. My kids played with their kids. They played with the chickens like they had known them forever (probably didn't hurt that they kept feeding them😉). And we LOVED the art gallery & made many purchases. Margi & Jessie told us about all the good spots on the island. We met some other people on our adventures around the island. And by the time our stay had come to end, we felt like we knew all the island folk. Highly recommend If we ever come back to Bois Blanc, there is no question about where we will stay. ❤❤❤❤

    Melissa2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The yurts are such a fun way to enjoy the outdoors without actually camping. We had such a great time and Margi & Jessi were so welcoming and attentive if we needed anything. Clean bathroom area, stocked kitchen, anything you really need for an outdoor stay. We had beatiful weather so we got to enjoy Lake Huron. Also, they were very welcoming of our two dogs. Thank you for hosting us!

30 day minimum stay required. This is due to city code and zoning. We are located off of Main Street, but away from the hustle of downtown. It’s a perfect mix of the two. A quick walk over to Mission Point to fly a kite or for some relaxing by the water. We are ideal for retirees, bucket listers, guests that can work remotely.
30 day minimum stay required due to city code and zoning. If you inquire about a weekend and input a whole month for your travel dates I have to send you a pre-approval to book. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: You can see the national forest on one side of the home and on the backside of the home you can see a neighbor's home. Seniors: Come one, come all! This space is great for those over 60. Sometimes when renting a home, you are never too sure about the terrain: is the home on top of a hill, is parking on a steep slope, are there 100 steps to the beach or the unit, etc. This home gets the FVR approval for the young at heart! Space: Main floor and upper floor. Televisions: Smart TV in the great room with cable. Also, there is a TV in the loft which only plays dvds. Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though. Washer and dryer: YES! Laundry soap is provided. Wood: Wood is provided.

  • Clamping in a yurt! Fun experience!. We had a slight issue locating our spot within the campground but no big deal. The setting was very private and secluded. Sandra left us water, flashlights, and firewood. Very nice touches! We gathered up some plentiful kindling and set off to explore St Ignace. We came back and enjoyed a great campfire then headed for bed. The night air was pretty chilly. Although there was a small heater and extra blankets but it was still pretty cold. Maybe an upgrade to a bigger heater should be considered. Bathroom and showers were close by and very clean. We bought more firewood for the 2nd night. Overall, a very fun weekend in a unique setting!

    Kathy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in the middle of a cold rainy/snowy evening and were so happy that the yurt was all ready with a heater and charming lights. The bed was cozy and it was a fun place to spend an evening.

    Holly2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as listed and great for a "glamping" experience. Bed was clean and comfortable, and the lights were a great touch. It was raining the night we stayed, but there are tarps over the yurt and sound of the rain in the background ended up being an added bonus. There is a small heater, but the temperature dropped quite a bit during our stay so it wasn't producing quite as much heat as we would have liked. Thankfully we brought extra blankets, and would recommend the same to others just in case. The showers are located in two separate stalls separate from the bathrooms and are clean. Overall great experience given the weather conditions and would definitely do it again!

    Amanda2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cute yurt that’s warm and toasty when it’s chilly outside.

    Makayla2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique place to spend a night. The Yurt is pretty spacious, has electricity and has a pretty fair amount of privacy. There are three of them in a row, but they aren't stacked on top of each other. Really glad we made the decision to stay for a night.

    Brandon2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Expect it to be like a campground but not feel like you're crowded. The shower stalls are nice and separated so there's nothing communal about them. You're close to the other 2 yurts but nothing feels invasive.

Located right on Lake Huron...so close to the water that you can fish off your deck! (Dock slip included) Gorgeous views of Les Cheneaux Islands and conveniently located downtown Cedarville next to the Marina. Walk from the cottage to get ice cream or check out local museums, artists, restaurants, grocery store (where they still carry your groceries out) and the new distillery and coffee shop!
This cottage is truly an experience...you can watch the birds, boats and ice fishing “tip ups” (winter) right from the living room. You can’t build a cottage today that is this CLOSE TO THE WATER ON TWO SIDES! Feels like you are on a boat with water views on three sides. High speed internet and a chef’s kitchen with a Vulcan stove and flat top for making pancakes in the morning make this cottage cozy and incredibly enjoyable.
Our Les Cheneux Community is extremely friendly and scenic. There are 36 small islands in Lake Huron to explore. This area is a haven for artists, wooden boat enthusiasts and a bird watchers paradise! We have the most amazing log cabin library, a wooden boat school, nautical museum, several restaurants, a pirate bar, distillery, ice cream shops, book store, grocery store (closed on Sunday) and a coffee shop and distillery.

This is the second time that I’ve stayed at Kelly’s and will do so in the future. Her condos are clean, recently updated and private. Previously, when staying at Kelly’s, I conveniently used her bikes that are available for guests at no extra charge.

Quaint Summer Les Cheneaux Islands Cottage. Beautiful 100+ year old Hessel Bay home on Lake Huron. Best view on lake with fenced in yard, sand beach, dock, BBQ, laundry as well as large new deck overlooking lake. Furnished. Open loft. Sleeps 7.
People come up for therapeutic relief from busy life. There are American Eagles flying over head with luscious green forests in the background and protected bay leading out into Lake Huron in the foreground. Immense opportunities for extreme water sport enthusiasts, salmon fishing, but also great for families as bay is protected.
We are all in an association with summer parties and get togethers. Everyone loves the UP (Yoopers) atmosphere b/c we are completely different from southern Michigan. You will be immersed in a vibrant, rich and rural culture that values traditional hardy American lifestyle. This is where you come where you want to see what the United States used to be 200 years ago. Great escape from the intricacies and nuances of everyday modern technological life. There's a quaint downtown area just footsteps away from the house with a gourmet restaurant/cooking school, ice cream shop, local bar with live music, and Mertaugh's boat marina with homemade fudge!
  • A lovely, comfortable old Hessel house right on the Lake. We loved it. Perfect for family with kids.

  • Katie and her family were wonderful hosts! The lake-front cabin was charming, cozy and comfortable, with a spectacular view of Lake Huron. We spent almost every night watching the sun set over the water. People in the town of Hessel, a 5-minute walk from the cabin, were unbelievably welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed excellent food at both the Island Bar and culinary school, and sampled probably too many of Michigan's many craft beers and local fudge recipes. I would love to stay at Katie's place again in the future. The 3 double beds were perfect for me and my partner, my parents, and my sister and her fiance. Highly recommended to all other Airbnbers!

    Abby2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Great view! Very cozy historic cabin. Easy walking to downtown Hessel. The deck is nice for cookouts. Our hosts were helpful and very accommodating. There are two bedrooms downstairs and a loft up stairs. The stairs are steep, so keep in mind if you have older or really young kids it might be more difficult for them to use the beds up there.

    Daniel2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you would like a great, older, clean home with a Great Lake view with a big deck and front porch in HESSEL - This Is It!!

    Cindy2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was very warm and welcoming. Her family was as well. She is very knowledgable about the area. We loved the local fudge she left for us, sweet touch!! We enjoyed our stay. You could sit on the porch and watch the view for hours. We had 7 people and it was very comfortable for us and we all had our own space. The back deck was a great place to BBQ and watch the water. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have a lovely shoreline of friendly families and we all deeply love our Bay and enjoy sharing the beauty.
  • Amazing place!

  • Going up to Northern Michigan in the heat of summer is one of my favorite things. Staying on a beautiful island in Les Cheneaux made this years' trip even better. Only 5-10 minutes to Cedarville by boat (depending on what type of boat you have). RaeAnn has all the amenities & kitchen items you could possibly need (including extra beach towels). Our favorite things: drinking coffee on the deck while looking out onto Urie Bay in the morning, jumping in the hot tub after skiing, tubing, or swimming in the cool water, beautiful sunsets, and falling asleep to the sound of waves outside.
