Baroque apartment at the Old Town Hall 1

A very special apartment in a dream location with a view of Bamberg Town Hall, stylishly furnished with antiques. The front building was erected in 1530, and the water-side building followed in 1640. Originally a half-timbered house that was plastered during the Baroque period in the 17th century. The façade was restored in May 2026 with great attention to detail and now shines again in all its glory next to the town hall. The house was bought by my grandparents in 1968. Before that, it had been a pharmacy for 200 years.

While in the silence of the night you only hear the stream in the valley, you can reach a lot of hospitality on foot: 2-3 restaurants, a popular bakery café, the spa park, a gas station with shop & café, a mom-and-pop shop, doctor, pharmacy and 2 banks. There is plenty to do: guided tours of the castle and rock cellar, the hiking paradise starts right outside the door, rock climbing, baking bread, and much more.

Hiking, biking, climbing and culture in Franconia

Apartment, on the first floor, two open sleeping areas (no closed rooms) climbing roof, balconies in all directions. A steep staircase leads to the sleeping roof! However, the double sofa bed is in the lower living area. Garden area with fireplace, outdoor sauna. Fully equipped kitchen, with gas stove. Spices are available, but you have to bring your own coffee. In summer, the service water is heated via the solar system. It may take some time for the heating to start when it is cloudy.

Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem ehemaligen fränkischen Bauernhof, am Waldrand im schönsten Gebiet der fränkischen Schweiz. In der Engelschanze befinden sich 2 separate Wohnungen, die aber auch als Einheit für 8-10 Personen gebucht werden können. Der große Garten kann von allen Gästen genutzt werden. Er erstreckt sich über den angrenzenden Wald, in dem sich auch eine Hängematte zur allgemeinen Nutzung befindet. Zu jeder Wohnung gehört eine eigene separate Terasse mit Ausblick.

The apartment is located on the ground floor of a former schoolhouse dating from 1888. The apartment is ideally located between Franconian Switzerland (a popular climbing and hiking area), Erlangen (university, Siemens) and Nuremberg (trade fair, Christmas market). It owes its special charm to the many architectural elements (e.g. Franconian floorboards). The garden invites you for breakfast, barbecue and relaxation, the direct surroundings for extensive hikes and bike tours.

Ideal zum Wandern und Radfahren, separater Eingang, eigene Terrasse, keine Treppe, Parkplatz bzw. Carport, gemütlicher kleiner Wellnessbereich, Autobahn in 7 km erreichbar, Freizeitmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Funpark, Schwimmbad, Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in wenigen Auto- Minuten erreichbar. Auch eine Ladestation für E-Autos ist vorhanden.

Small, open-plan apartment/granny flat on the ground floor with fitted kitchen (coffee machine, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer), bathroom (shampoo, shower gel, etc.) with shower and toilet, towels, bed linen, hairdryer. Bedroom with wardrobe, living room with sofa bed, dining table, TV. Please let us know if you want us to make the sofa bed. Families with children are very welcome, there is a high chair available as well as various toys.

The apartment is located in the basement of the hillside house in a secluded location. Due to the hillside location, the bedroom, kitchen and living room have daylight. In the built-in kitchen, a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a freezer/fridge are available. There is a bathroom with a bathtub and shower and an extra toilet. The terrace is covered. The terrace is adjoined by a small lawn that is only used by this apartment.
