For adventurous travelers who will appreciate the 10-minute panoramic walk to the house (we will transport your luggage and groceries by tractor). The magical view of the world below with the coast on the horizon which can be enjoyed from every room of the house and from the entire olive orchard with its walking paths and plunge pool with waterfall. Being a pedestrian village, Metato is quiet and peaceful. Yet, the beach and many great places to visit are a short drive away- Pisa, Florence, Lucca, the marble quarries of Cararra, Pietrasanta, Viareggio.... Guests have exclusive access to the pool and property. Metato is a friendly litttle village in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There is a quaint family-run restaurant in the village that serves local homemade dishes at a very reasonable price. Our pedestrian village tends to attract kind people in search of peace and quiet and a proximity with nature. Time seems to go by more slowly here. It is a perfect base for families who want to explore Tuscany and the beaches of the Versilia coast. The home is in a beautiful, quiet location on a hill surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Explore the medieval village of Metato where fireflies and breathtaking views await. Take an invigorating hike or head to the beaches a short drive away. There is a parking lot at the base of the village where you can park the car. The village itself is pedestrian but I am happy to greet guests at the parking lot on their arrival to transport their luggage, groceries and whoever wants to ride to the house with my little Italian tractor! The nearest airport is Pisa (45-minutes by car). All the major car rental places can be found there. The nearest train station is Viareggio.

"Mercanti" cozy attic in a tower house

An old tower house in the heart of Pisa. A fully equipped stainless steel kitchen with espresso machine and kettle. The interiors blends wooden beams, steel and glass with a swinging hammock, designer lamps, a turntable and an extensive library of art and illustration books. The bedroom is accessed via an internal staircase, while the apartment is located in the attic (3rd floor) of a historic building: the staircase is a bit steep, so unfortunately it may not be comfortable for everyone.

The Gegia Matta

In the green of Tuscany La Gegia Matta is the guest house of Villa Ruschi, a magnificent eighteenth-century property characterised by the typical Tuscan style. It is located in the centre of Calci, in Val Graziosa and is easily accessible by car or motorcycle. Nearby you will find restaurants, wine bars, groceries and you can also visit the beautiful Certosa di Calci. It is 10 minutes from Pisa, 20 from Lucca , 1 hour from Florence and 20 minutes from the beaches of the Tyrrhenian coast.

The large glass arches of the ancient structure, equipped with semi-darkening curtains, open this environment to the light and colors of the garden; for this reason, the apartment is not recommended if you need total darkness to rest.

Recently renovated apartment of about 60 square meters on the ground floor of an old building with terrace of about 40 square meters. Possibility to accommodate 4 people (double bed, 1 bed in a square and a half), with the addition of a cot for children. The neighborhood, Santa Maria, is one of the oldest in Pisa. Nearby is the Sinopie Museum, the Botanical Garden and Museum, the Museum of the Tools for the Calculation, the Duomo Opera Museum. You can easily visit the city on foot.
