Little Coombe welcomes all couples, lone travellers and fellow pooches. Little Coombe is a totally self-contained cottage attached to the main cottage, where the owner lives. It is a tranquil stone cottage sitting by the brook in a small hamlet near Shaftesbury. The cottage was formerly two thatched farm cottages and where our family has lived for nearly 100 years! Really comfortable and warm converted stables next to our main house but with privacy, standing in idyllic private valley. Less than 2 miles from Shaftesbury. The cottage overlooks our small lake (about 1/2 acre). Peaceful countryside with buzzards, woodpeckers, a barn owl, ducks, pheasants, deer and even otters. See them at your breakfast table or in our indoor/outdoor veranda with circular table and overhead heater. Well behaved small / medium dogs only - strictly by prior agreement.

The Vintage Hideaway

The vintage hideaway is a self contained annexe attached to my house. It is light and comfortable, it has a bedroom with sofa, kitchenette with small oven/grill and two hotplates ,fridge, freezer and microwave and a shower room. Access from the bedroom to a seating area on the deck ,over looking an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house is close to lovely walks and the historic town of Shaftesbury with a variety of cafes , individual shops and pubs, and of course Gold Hill.
