Tucked-away Riverside Cottage | Escape the Hustle!

Tucked away in the forest you will find a beautiful little cottage right on the Madawaska River. The private river access is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing. Early risers will often be blessed with a serene mist hovering just above the water that you can enjoy from the dock with some tea. There are many good spots up and down the river for fishing. Cozy up by the campfire at night and make some smores. Close by you will find Slate Falls, Crooked Rapids, and the Uplands Trail.

This cabin site is tucked into the forest at the base of the Deacon Escarpment with a view of the Bonnechere Valley Hills. It is a 10 min hike to the Escarpment Lookout, and roughly a 25 min hike to your canoe on a small lake. There is a picnic table, firepit, outdoor gazebo bar, seasonal outdoor shower and private outhouse. The cabin comes with a map of 30km of trails for you to hike or snowshoe. No neighbours within 500m in any direction. Possibility of occasional guest cars going past.

The Guest House

Our guest house is a cozy log cabin with three floors. It is the original homesteader cabin to our property, revived and restored with care. Nestled in the Bonnechere region of Renfrew County, this magical place of solitude offers nature right outside your door. Local paintings by Ottawa Valley landscape artist Angela St. Jean displayed throughout the cabin feature lakes, rivers, and natural places and spaces that surround us.

The Bunkie

Come spend time in a cozy solar powered cabin on our homestead located on the edge of 50 acres of forest. When you aren't cozied up by the wood stove, there are many trails to explore throughout the forest. Guests are also welcome to use the sauna, explore the gardens and meet the chickens. The Bunkie is located 25 minutes from Bon Echo and 15 minutes from Lower Madawaska.
