Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Make you trip to Edinburgh truly memorable with a stay at Craigiehall Temple. Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". We hope that a stay at the Temple will deliver this experience and stay true to this vision.

It borders Ratho Park Golf club (area of outstanding beauty), a walk from the heart of Ratho village, 8miles from Edinburgh centre. Rooms are stylishly furnished (with wifi), and proudly eco-friendly (ground source heated). The property has parking, doors to the courtyard, patio with views looking onto a beautiful fairway, and a path to the gardens, fire pit, ruins and historic canal.

Our guest suite is in a quiet residential area in Balerno; a village at the foot of the scenic Pentland Hills. A beautiful spot for walkers and nature lovers. To visit the city take a 25 minute car drive or the 44 Lothian bus at the end of the road for a 45 min bus ride to Edinburgh City Centre. Complimentary milk, coffee, tea and sugar plus cereal for your first breakfast. Shops, restaurants, bars, cafe & takeaways within a short walk. A parking spot on the drive is available on request.

Charlotte Cottage is a cozy home away from home.

This is the perfect place to stay with easy commutes to and from Livingston City Centre, Edinburgh and Glasgow with frequent train and bus links into the city centers. Charlotte Cottage is wheelchair friendly and comes complete with an open plan living room and kitchen with fridge freezer, oven and hob, microwave, kettle, built in wardrobe, TV with free view and WI-FI. Our local train station is ten minute drive away or a twenty minute walk from which you can get to Edinburgh city centre in less than twenty minutes. We can offer either a super king size double or two single beds as well as all the usual amenities for a comfortable stay.
