Commiezenhuis

This Commiezen house (customs office/earlier BORDER/TAX CONTROL Office) is one of the oldest houses at the mouth of the North Sea Canal. The house dates from 1875 and thus forms the basis of the later IJmuiden. With the largest sea lock in the world within walking distance and beach and fishing port within a radius of 1 km, this place is an ideal starting point for day trips. Haarlem (15 min.) and Amsterdam (30 min.) are also easily accessible. Public transportation - bus and train - are available as well as free parking.

Warm yourself by the wood-burning stove after a long beach walk or enjoy the setting sun from the front terrace. From the balcony by the bedroom, you can see the sun rise in the morning above the dune landscape, where deer can often be seen. The house is spacious, has 2.5 floors and has all the comforts. There is a shared swimming pool + sauna.

Activities nearby: SnowPlanet, a golfcourse, horse riding, harbour and water activities. Bus 382 stops nearby. Ruigoord is close. Beautiful Bali-style design. We have an outdoor trampoline.

The apartment is in the middle of the Kennemerduinen, with an unobstructed view of the dunes, the beach and the sea at the front. At the back, the apartment overlooks the dunes, where you can regularly see deer. The beautiful, wide beach is a 1-minute walk away, excellent for long walks or letting your dog run, kite surfing or just enjoying a bite or drink at a beach tent. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunsets from the balcony.
