Elephant butte lake is 3 miles north. And 2 miles south is downtown TorC with 13 hot springs. NOTE: Like all rivers in New Mexico the rivers water flow runs low in the fall, winter & early spring.

In the morning walk across the street to the large riverside park to get some exercise, do some bird watching, or visit the Farmer's Market. In the afternoon walk downtown for some eclectic shopping opportunities and to grab a beer or craft cocktail at the brewery.
