Halmhuset - The Straw House

Our thatched house is probably the only "Halmhuset" that is rented as a vacation home in Denmark. It is breathable, made of clay and straw, and is sustainably supplied by heat pump and photovoltaics. In summer, the thick walls provide pleasant coolness, in winter it is cozy and warm, with a room height of up to 4 meters. A real feel-good place for up to 8 people, located at the gates of the city of Tønder, close to the Wadden Sea National Park and the islands of Sylt and Rømø.

Outdoor thatched roof, interior unique design

The house has been newly renovated and has a particularly unique furniture with attention to detail. The house has a large garden with fire bowl where every summer night becomes a beautiful memory. In the immediate vicinity (10 km) you are already on the North Sea and after only two train stations you are on Sylt. Not only in summer, the cottage is a popular destination, even in winter it impresses with its coziness that the oven in the living area contributes to.

Byhus midt i Ribe med 100 m til Domkirken. Boligen har 2 gode soveværelser, køkken med spiseplads, stor hyggelig stue. Derudover badeværelse på 1. sal og toilet i stueplan. Huset har stor dejlig sydvendt lukket gårdhave, hvor man kan nyde solen hele dagen. Der kan parkeres på gaden tæt på huset to timer gratis mellem 10-18 på hverdage og lørdag mellem 10-14. Ellers er der gratis parkering hele døgnet ca fem minutters gang fra huset

There is space to barbecue, play or unwind. The garden is completely enclosed. Of course, there is also a cot in the house. The beach is 15 minutes away by car. To Rømø, about 40 minutes. Charging hybrid and electric cars is prohibited

An oasis of peace invites you to relax. The building, which was completely renovated in 2020, is in an outdoor location and offers you a mile-long view of the Dutch town of Friedrichstadt on the large south terrace. End the day with a view of a unique sunset. Explore the area on extended bike tours or cool off in the natural swimming area 350 meters away. The nearby Treene river offers you a variety of leisure activities.

Charming “chapel” in the north German Bullerbü

Our small "chapel" is located on a former farm between the Schlei and the Hüttener Berge Nature Park. Peacefully nestled between meadows, fields and moors lies our unmistakable "mini village". Four families live with us, with a total of five children, as well as a friendly Hovawart dog, four cats, a rooster and two hens. All two and four-legged friends run free on the premises, there are no fences or gates with us.

My North Star

We modernized the approximately 200 m² holiday home "Mein Nordstern" with a lot of love for detail in 2021. We have the house equipped and furnished as we like it best. In addition to design classics, there are high-quality beds and selected kitchen utensils that make the house modern and cozy overall. Our sauna is brand new from autumn 2023 onwards. Kick back and relax in this quiet, stylish space.
