Tranquil Secluded Studio Steps from Woodland Park
This very unique space is quiet, private and tucked away off the backyard, beneath the branches of a lilac tree. We are located at the nexus of four of the north end's most amenity-rich neighborhoods, Wallingford, Fremont, Phinney Ridge, and Green Lake. Off-street parking is not available, but street parking is free and unregulated. During the day, spots are generally plentiful. It gets a little tight at night, but you should be able to find a spot within a block or around the corner. Enter from a private deck, two steps down into a former workshop, turned into a cozy, comfortable space about the size of an average hotel room. The walls and ceilings are paneled with birch plywood. The steel fasteners are exposed. The floor is painted concrete. A remote-controlled ceiling fan keeps the room comfortable in summer or winter. Heat comes from an efficient, electric, convection heater mounted on a wall at waist-level. Two pendant shop lights, and a light on the ceiling fan, provide the main lighting. There is a floor lamp by the table, and two reading lamps fastened to the bed. All shelving is open, and also made from birch plywood, keeping with the room's industrial theme. The kitchenette comes with a compact refrigerator/freezer, two-burner induction cooktop, compact dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee grinder, French press coffee maker, colander, mixing bowl, dishes, glasses, utensils (including corkscrew, can opener), skillet, sauce pan, and cutting board. A flat-screen TV is mounted on the wall, and comes with cable service. If you have a Netflix account, you can stream videos as well. There is a clock radio/iPod dock on the nightstand. Both wired, and wireless internet are provided. Room has a multi-purpose table with two drop-leaves, suitable for eating or working. The unit also comes with a stacked washer and dryer, full-size ironing board and iron. Guests can check in 24/7 on their own, as the unit is equipped with a keyless deadbolt that unlocks using a numerical code. The bathroom has a tiled shower with a thermostatic valve, allowing you to preset the temperature. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairdryer are provided. The queen-size bed has a memory foam mattress, and comes with a down comforter. An armless easy chair sits at the foot of the bed. For families with infants, there is a portable crib available on request. The place works for couples and couples with an infant. I don't recommend this space for parties larger than that. Guests have exclusive use of the deck, and shared use of the backyard. I live here in the main house and work from home at least half of the time, so I'm often just a few steps away. Interaction is typically very minimal - you'll have your peace and privacy - but I'm generally available to help with requests. This house is located at the nexus of four of the north end's most amenity-rich neighborhoods; Wallingford, Fremont, Phinney Ridge, and Green Lake. The Woodland Park Zoo and Rose Garden are only a one-minute walk away. The unit is close to three major bus lines (the E-line express, No. 5, and No. 44). Downtown Seattle is a 10-15 minute ride, as is Ballard and the University of Washington. There is ample parking on the street for those with cars; you can find parking on our block almost all the time. I also host AirBnb guests in the house, so you might see other travelers coming and going. Street parking only for guests - both driveways have to remain clear. Parking is easy to find during the day, harder as it gets later, but you shouldn't ever have to park more than a block or two away.

The Wedgwood Nest
Get cozy in a charming hideaway with all the comforts of home at an arm's reach. Brew a pot of local pour-over coffee and plan an excursion into the city from a couch in a sunny window. Wedgwood Nest is a converted 400 sq. ft., private backyard cottage located near the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. The Nest is a 5 minute walk to two bus lines, one of which connects with Seattle’s Light Rail system. The Nest is 7 miles (about 30 minutes) from downtown by bus or about 20 minutes by car in moderate traffic and is also located near bike trails. The Nest is a beautiful, inviting and private converted detached garage with YOU, the Airbnb guest, in mind. The space is complete with a kitchenette which includes a fridge, two-burner cooktop, toaster oven, coffee maker and microwave; a washer/dryer, generous walk-in shower, queen size bed and sleeper sofa complete the space. A keyless entry makes it a breeze to get into the cottage. Access The Nest by walking up the driveway and through a latched gate into the backyard. You will receive an entry code for the keyless lock along with check-in instructions prior to your stay. I run my own business and often work from home--I enjoy meeting guests as time allows. If we don’t connect in person during your stay, rest assured I am always available to respond to your questions via email, phone, and text. (Text is preferred method of communication). The cottage, Wedgwood Nest, is near the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. It's a 5-minute walk to two bus lines, one of which connects to the new Light Rail system. Walk to coffee shops, a yummy local bakery, and a gym. We are a busy family with 10 year old twins. They are happy and busy kids. They are at school during the day, but are often found playing outside in the backyard after school and during the weekends, but they know to be respectful of your privacy. We are proud to showcase art and furniture by local artist in our cottage. All artwork is for your enjoyment and if you love a special piece, it can be purchased!

High Style and Vintage Charm in Private Garden Cottage
This is a private guest bungalow, fully detached from the main house. Main living area converts from hang-out room, to dining table/work surface seating for four, to bedroom. Wallbed holds a Leesa high-end foam mattress, and wall-mounted tv swivels for viewing from the bed or leather loveseat. DVD/blu-ray player with a selection of movies, access to Netflix, and dedicated wifi. The all-in-one vintage kitchenette includes sink, stovetop, oven, and refrigerator. Microwave, kettle, french press, pots, pans, & utensils. The tiled bathroom is stocked with towels and bathrobes, soap, shampoo & conditioner, hair-dryer, and make-up wipes. The bungalow is all yours, and feel free to hang out wherever you like in the shared yard. Guests staying 3 nights and longer can arrange access to our washer & dryer. Host is readily available, in person or via phone/text. We are a family of four, so the yard is a shared space with us and our two young daughters, a couple of cats, and the hubbub of family life. We are often outside when the weather is nice, working in the garden, splashing in the small pool, and generally hanging out. The property is in the Loyal Heights area of Ballard, just south of Crown Hill. Ballard is a hip, historic neighborhood in Seattle's northwest corner known as a hotspot for new restaurants and bars, urban development, and Scandinavian heritage. There is street parking directly in front of the main house. It's a short 3-block walk to the RapidRide D Line bus running frequently to/from downtown Seattle. It is 1.5 miles to the heart of Old Ballard, 1.5 miles to Golden Gardens Park (beach), 2 miles to Green Lake Park, and 2.3 miles to Woodland Park Zoo. The cottage plumbing is on a sump pump. PLEASE remember that only toilet paper and, well, you know, can go into the toilet. NO feminine hygiene products. At all. Thank you.

Charming Secluded Guest Suite near Woodland Park
This secluded and very quiet, 370 sq ft in home apartment, space is nestled in the trees with a territorial view to the southwest. If you have an appreciation for hand crafted details this is the place for you: hand made windows, a bed frame made from salvaged fir bleacher seats, owner designed light fixtures, and traditionally crafted woodworking details throughout. The Chestnut stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter with its heated concrete floors. Open all twelve windows south and west and you might think you’re in a treehouse. This space is thoughtfully designed as a restful retreat after a long day of exploring or hectic day of business travel. If you like to cook, the kitchen is complete with a gas range, a full size electric oven, microwave, under counter refrigerator/ freezer, farm style sink, and all the needed utensils. The Chestnut has its own secure entrance and private patio. It is accessible by stairs only. I am here and happy to help. Look for the many public art pieces nearby or walk along the gorgeous ship canal. There are plenty of food options within walking distance and a number of buses that will easily take you downtown, east to the University district, west to Ballard, and north to greater North Seattle.
