  • This was a fantastic spot! Very cozy with the wood fire place and Judith left us some local cheese & crackers, half & half, coffee, and orange juice! This was such a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Beautiful, comfortable, and spacious apartment. Kristen is a great host - she always has time to answer questions and make sure you feel at home. I did an extended stay for three weeks, and loved it. Highly recommend!

  • Lovely place in a great location to see Bellows Falls! My family had a wonderful stay and loved the flat

    Raymond2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen’s apartment is amazing. It’s in an old Victorian home with great historic features, quiet yet very close to downtown. The decor is uniquely curated with beautiful art and sculpture, brightly colored walls, comfy furniture. The kitchen has everything you need. We were greeted with a personalized hand-written note, cookies, and local apples and cider. One of our favorite stays ever!

    Eva & Leif2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed several times and will continue to consider this my first choice in bellows falls. Kristen’s personal touches are what Airbnb is all about. Her place is an artist’s haven, beautiful design and artistic touches. Tasty local seasonal treats like fresh local cider and cider donuts await your arrival. I almost always am able to check in early and leave a little late, although don’t hold me to that. She is an excellent communicator with regards to that. I’ll return a million times. Mickie

  • Kristen's place is just stunning. She has a great eye for art and design. Her recommendations around town were spot on. She provided apple cider and donuts which made our fall trip to Vermont perfect. There is a generous selection of good books, a nice roomy kitchen, and a wonderful view of the church and cemetery from the comfy, warm living room sofa. The local town is really charming and friendly. We plan to return next fall!

    Carolyn2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed Kristen’s eclectic home while visiting Vermont. She had all the amenities we needed. Bellows Falls is a good base for exploring nature and covered bridges, which was our goal. We ate terrific meals at Popolo for dinner and the Moon Dog Cafe for lunch. We would stay here again if our travels take us that way. Thanks, Kristen!

The area is home to great hiking, boating, skiing, antiquing and New England's laid back, friendly, welcoming communities. This village of Bellows Falls is home to many old, gracious Victorian homes, a lovely downtown with unique shops, wonderful restaurants and beautiful views of the Connecticut River and the hills of New Hampshire. The house is one of the old Victorians, creatively rehabbed into a grand yet down-to-earth home. A backyard is available for guests' lounging outdoors.
The Blue Room is on the second floor, overlooks the backyard and has two large windows. A large closet and chest of drawers is available. A bathroom is nearby, on this floor.
  • Really beautiful and clean, wonderful service and amenities!

  • Barbara's is a grand old home in excellent condition, and she is warm and welcoming. Very comfortable stay, with a host that goes out of her way to make you feel at home.

    Suzanne2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My time at Barbara’s wonderful home was more of an experience than a stay. The home is such a lovely older antiqued home that has been restored and kept up so beautifully. Barbara is one of the most wonderful host you could have through the Airbnb experience. I would definitely stay there again given the chance.

    Cheryl2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My Dad actually stayed this time. It was everything I had explained to him. He will definitely stay there on his next trip to Vermont. Great value for the money.

    Rhonda2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s place is the best Airbnb I have stayed at, and what an opportunity to stay in such a beautiful Edwardian home! Great facilities, breakfast items, gorgeous rooms, garden. Short walk to the Main Street -Moon dog cafe & Wunderbar were my favourites. Thank you Barbara, such a wonderful host & I hope to stay again beautiful Bellows!

    Jody2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara is the nicest person on the planet and couldn’t be more hospitable and accommodating. She went above and beyond in a near crisis situation for me. Her communication before with advice during my visit was exceptional. Bellows Falls is charming and the location of her magnificent home is perfect. I’ve had many, many fabulous Airbnb experiences and visited Vermont several times, but my stay far exceeded my expectations.

The Rose Room is a spacious bedroom in a beautiful Victorian home with elegant yet comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is extraordinary as are the tiled bathroom and the deep, long claw foot tub. Tall ceilings, oriental carpets and attention to detail make this room and home visually attractive and charming. Bellows Falls offers a movie theater (one of the largest screens in New England and ) all seats $5), an antique emporium and great restaurants. Plus an old time diner.
Called the Rose Room because of the wall color and the antique Oriental rug with a rose background, this room is situated on the first floor. This room has access to a unique and beautiful bathroom. The tiled bathroom was created in a European style with the shower as part of the room. Lush plants create a special setting.
  • All I can say is that I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Barbara is the quintessential hostess (and my Mother went to finishing school...). Barbara could not have been more gracious, thoughtful, considerate or helpful. Her historic Victorian home has been lovingly and beautifully restored to its original splendor and is a treat to stay in. It is located within easy walking distance of the Village of Bellows Falls which has some lovely restaurants and shops. This is a real find and if you are reading this review - stay there. (I just hope that when I return that she'll still have space for me!)

  • I had a wonderful stay. Barbara was a lovely host, and her historic home has such great character. The house is conveniently located within easy walking distance of local shops and restaurants, and a couple of minutes by car from Shaw’s supermarket. I stayed in the Rose Room, which was spacious, and also had to plenty of other spots in the common places and backyard to relax and work on my laptop. Will definitely return.

  • Thanks Christopher for our amazing staying. The Place was clean and has excellent condition, it seems renovation was done not so long ago because all towels, kitchenware are absolutely new. Also host provides a lot off different amenities starts from drinking water and end with pool table . In addition it is just 30 minutes to Okemo ski resort. I rate this place at 5/5 and definitely recommend for everyone!!

Old farmhouse built in 1800s on 200 acre old dairy farm (non working). Most of the house recently updated. On conservation land/working Christmas tree farm. Great hiking, sledding, XC& alpine skiing (close by). Large lake public beach 2 miles away. Dog friendly. WiFi /Direct TV/Fire Stx Keene, NH & Brattleboro, VT 15 minutes away. Mt Snow 36miles /Stratton 45miles. place has been in my family since the 1940s/ on old dirt road/ private/secluded getaway close to town(s)/minutes from RT 91
A rural setting, but close to two thriving communities (Brattleboro VT & Keene, NH). Family owned for 70 years. Beautiful place to spend some time.
  • Dan’s farmhouse was the perfect romantic winter getaway. It offered everything you could expect from the cozy and warm setting of a family farmhouse to a fire going in the wood stove to the sprawling hills and pine trees of the property. It had the perfect home away from home feel. Meeting Dan and seeing his love for this place added the finishing touches along with the dozens of beautiful photos showing all the years and generations of love and family throughout the home. An essential and classic New England experience to the fullest. Can’t wait to go back!

One bedroom apartment with kitchenette (mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dishes etc.), full bathroom with laundry, and open living space. I am an English teacher, so there are lots of books! Apartment is located in the Village of Saxtons River- within easy walking distance from the Market, Vermont Academy, our new Park, and Main Street Arts.
This space was a full apartment under a previous owner, but no longer has a full kitchen, so minus the stove-thing, it is a big cheerful apartment. We have provided enough for kitchenette life (making coffee, storing take-out, making pb&j sandwiches...) and lots of nice spaces to read, hang out, and enjoy your time in southern Vermont. The bedroom has closets, there is room for a crib if you are traveling with young children (we have an extra if needed), decorations are artsy and eclectic. In the bathroom there is a full washer and dryer, and a combined tub/shower.
Saxtons River is a small town, with the standard general store, inn (with bar), breakfast place, and church. There is a cool arts organization (Main Street Arts) that often hosts art shows and theatrical productions. We are also really close to Bellows Falls, which has a few nice restaurants, some breakfast spots, coffee shops, and antique stores. We are also really close to Grafton, Chester, Putney, and about 45 minutes from Okemo.
  • Whitney's AirBNB is adorable! My friend and I only stayed one night but the stay was clean, warm and the bed was very comfy. The town is very quiet and we enjoyed a bit of the night sky for once. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

    Wendy Awesome2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • 1st AirBNB experience, and it will be a hard one to top. Lovely space with lots of room. Travelling to a local event with dogs. Host was very accommodating. How can a place with Make Way For Ducklings, the Harry Potter series and a Tom Robbins novel be bad? Look forward to visiting again.

    Laura2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one very short night, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We received detailed information on where to park and how to access the apartment. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised; the space was larger than I expected. Very cute and cozy. Note in the description that there is no stove/oven, but there is a mini-fridge; larger than the usual college-type mini fridge. Plenty of space in it for a couple of days of groceries for small meals and snacks. The bed, and bedding, was very cozy! After a long drive, crawling into a comfy bed was a treat! Wish we could have stayed longer, but if we are back in the area we'll definitely look to stay here again!

  • Amazing charming space!

    Cassandra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were seeking a cute & pet-friendly apartment as our relative is in a nearby assisted living facility—this place was just adorable!! It was nice and toasty when we arrived, and when the overnight low dipped below zero, we were snug as a big in a rug! If you are a reader, you will be in heaven—books abound! Clean, with a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator, and coffee accoutrements such as cream and sugar as well as some teabags made this exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Lovely home of cheese makers on a quiet country road perfect for morning or evening jogs, walks or biking as you pass fields of corn in the summer, eagle's nest 1/4 mile away and horse and dairy farms. Bring your x-country skis or your snow mobile in the winter and start your trip right from our front door on groomed snow mobile trails or on a "rails to trails" less than a mile away. Price includes the 9% New Hampshire Rooms & Meals tax.
Lovely, clean home of cheesemakers. If you love cheese this is the place for you! Two bedrooms are available, one has a queen size bed and the other has a trundle bed. There is a shared bath for the two rooms. You are invited to make yourself at home and use the kitchen and the rest of the cozy home we built in 2003. We have a cheese aging room in our home and make the cheese at a small farm 12 miles from our home. We are located in the countryside 4 miles from our historic village of Walpole, NH which has a great chocolate shop and fabulous restaurants, vineyard and winery, artist co-op, summertime flea market, a creamery with the best homemade ice cream and a couple of cheese makers (and we are one of those cheese makers). Ski areas are a 45 minute drive. Boston is a 2 hour drive and NYC is a 4 hour drive. We request a 2 night stay during fall foliage in October.
Our home is in a quiet rural setting. In the spring you are lulled to sleep by the spring peepers (small frogs that make a big sound) and the summer has the frog songs, all from our nearby pond and wetlands. Bird songs are enjoyed during the day.
  • The place was clean and beautifully appointed. Sonia and her husband were very hospitable. I would recommend their air B and B to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.

  • It was such a pleasure staying with Joe and Sonia. The vista of fields, woods, and distant mountains is spectacular. Their place was very clean, comfortable, and serene. They made us a delicious homemade breakfast from their organic garden. It's exactly what we were looking for on an Airbnb with their unmatched hospitality and friendliness. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

  • I had such a wonderful stay at Sonia and Joe's, it was difficult to leave! The house is comfortable and beautiful, with lovely views of the New Hampshire countryside. Sonia made breakfast each morning, a nice surprise, including apples from their tree. I was welcome to use the kitchen anytime for cooking, or storing food in the refrigerator. We had such fun conversations, and I loved hearing about their former work as artisanal cheese makers. Do book a stay here, you won't regret it!

Cozy efficiency apartment with loft. Daybed downstairs doubles as a couch. This apt works well as a stay-cation spot too. Sanitizing of surfaces done in between all stays. We are close to downtown Putney, which features a live music venue, an independent bookstore (roasting their own coffee!) and local food co-op. There are lots of hiking trails in Putney, as well as cross-country skiing opportunities. Close to Landmark College, the Putney School and the Greenwood School.
The apt is a separate space, suitable for two people very comfortably, three if good friends or family.
Putney Mountain is a short, beautiful hike. Black Mountain is also lovely. There is an independent bookstore, a General Store, and a food co-op. There is a Farmer's Market at the local orchard during the winter months, and the Putney Craft Tour is famous for the quality of the artisans.
  • Amazing place, sparkling clean, easy to find and very nicefull touch. Would definitely recommend it.

  • Gay's apartment is a very cute space that had everything we needed to enjoy a night away from home. The loft bedroom was adorable, and so was the daybed and kitchen. My boyfriend and I were very comfortable there, and I would definitely recommend it! They also left a homemade chocolate coconut bar that was gluten free and dairy free, which was completely unexpected, but amazing because I have those dietary restrictions! Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

  • This is a lovely first floor unit with lots of privacy. The bedroom is in a second floor loft but there is also a daybed on the first floor. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, with many thoughtful touches to make the place more welcoming. We loved the exposed beams, comfy flannel linens and beautiful views! The sulphur content in the water is pretty high so someone with a sensitivity might be uncomfortable, but we didn't mind it. Gay was great about communicating and very responsive when we had a question. We definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay for a few days!

    Kim2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect spot for a 1 night ski vacation. Gay was outside to greet us and she was very flexible about check in because of a snow storm. Very clean are with only a 20 minute drive in to Brattleboro and less than an hour to mount snow. Would recommend.

    Eli2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect spot for a long weekend getaway! Gay's place is very cozy and well stocked with lovely touches like tea/coffee, they even included fresh butter and half&half in the fridge. It is conveniently located off the main road in Putney, perfect for exploring the Brattleboro/Bellows Falls area. Would be delighted to stay here again!

  • A true gem! Kathleen and Hans have a beautiful property. The cottage was super clean and beautifully appointed for our cozy getaway. We will definitely be back.

  • Loved our time here! The place is super quaint and cozy yet new and sparkling clean. Very quiet and peaceful location. Great place to come to relax and re-charge. We came in the winter and got to enjoy the wood stove. Some really nice hiking close by. Full brand new kitchen with gas stove for those who enjoy cooking. We're thinking of coming back late summer/early fall to experience it during another season!

  • Beautiful, serene space. Lovingly cared for and cozy cabin. All the worries of life can fade away under the stars.

    Misty2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen's home was everything I was hoping for and more! Her space is intionally currated to be welcoming, cozy, and tranquil. I came to Vermont looking to unwind and spend some time in the mountains. This cabin was the perfect place to do that. From walking around the grounds to local trails, the peace of nature was everywhere. The location was the perfect distance to see the Green Mountains as well as explore several quaint towns. Kathleen gave so many recomendations on where to eat and what to see in the area. It was so nice to have some local insight. I will be staying at Kathleen's again the next time I feel Vermont calling.

    Mary2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and very relaxing. Perfect place to drink your coffee or glass of wine and stare out the huge windows or stand on the deck and observe the nature. Kathleen was very nice and provided great recommendations on places to go in the area. It was also nice to get there after eating dinner and a long time to a fire going for us, thank you! We hope to definitely be back in the future. If you want a place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, I definitely recommend her home!

    Kelsey2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great space, highly recommended to anyone looking for a trip to VT. The cottage was the perfect place to get away from the hectic hustle of daily life- the land, the barn, the view, the nature, the pups, all of it. The cottage itself was beautifully designed/ decorated and every detail was so thoughtfully placed. The reading ‘nook’ by the fire was my favorite spot. Kathleen was welcoming and a fantastic host. I hope to return again this Spring or Summer!

    Lauren2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a dream getaway with nature. From the moment we walked in, we gasped at the beauty and cleanliness. It was stunning, warm and inviting. What stood out to us the most in comparison to other AirBnBs were the numerous unique touches that we discovered throughout our stay. There are hidden gems here. As you slip into peacefulness, be sure to explore and allow your soul to be inspired by everything you see. In addition to being wonderful, it is also in an excellent location for easy travel. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

    Kenny2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen's place was a total dream. We were looking for a relaxing weekend to unplug and connect with nature. Her place has been thoughtfully curated for exactly that. Kathleen greeted us when we arrived and gave a thorough list of excellent recommendations for local places to eat, drink, and hike. We can't recommend her place enough and are already planning our return!

  • A great find for a weekend away!

    Hannah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place had everything one would need while away (except a microwave). It was very quiet and peaceful but occasionally could hear footsteps from upstairs. Andrea quickly replied whenever I texted and yet was patient when I took time to reply due to being away from my phone. The place is as described and would recommend it for any types of getaway including romantic ones. It was one for me and newly hubby.

    Hansarah2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s apartment was perfect for our weekend away. The kitchen was great for making breakfast in the morning and the walk down to the river was a great way to start the day.

    Erin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very comfortable, clean, and modern. The walk down behind the house to the stream was quite beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and Andrea, the host, was a sweetheart.

Our shingle Victorian is a short walk to Bellows Falls, with its antique and craft stores, Opera House movie theater ($5 at all times!), book store, and farm-to-table restaurants. Nearby is Weston Playhouse, The Vermont Country Store, and the historic Rockingham Meeting House. Full or continental breakfast (your choice, your time between 8 and 10 AM) offered in our beautiful dining room.
Our blue room gets beautiful light all morning. Furnished with the original 1888 bedroom set.
We are located in a quiet residential neighborhood on one of Bellows Falls' many lovely terraces. Many nice walks available throughout town and river park areas.
  • Beautiful historical Vermont home! Eileen and her husband are thoughtful, and the place is quiet, clean, and cost. A short yet scenic drive to Okemo!

    Dongying2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality of the hosts is absolutely tops. Everything is taken care of and you are given room to enjoy and appreciate the space at your leisure and in great comfort. This was a business trip and to land at night in such beauty and comfort was memorable and luxurious. This took care of my needs and more.

    Jonathan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The highest level of hospitality! Great hosts with an extremely comfy setting.

    Jonathan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best AirBnB I’ve ever been to. I couldn’t have stumbled upon a better port in the snowstorm. If I’d written this charming a place into a book by happenstance, no one would believe it! My room was comfortable, the space was steeped in historical charm, and Ed and Eileen were enthusiastic about ensuring my comfort. I made a pot of tea to drink in my room, and the breakfast the next morning was NO. JOKE. I felt like a proper queen. I will definitely be staying again, for longer, and bringing friends.

    Lauren2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Ed and Eileen was fantastic. A comfortable bed, a lovely home, and generous and friendly hosts. We stayed in several places on a NE tour and the Eva Blake house was far and away our favorite. We hope to make it back again some day! Truly a not to miss visit if it’s in your travel plans.

    Jesse2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house is incredibly victorian, Ed and Eileen were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious!

    Flo2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The best air B and B we ever stayed at. The hospitality is amazing. Their attention to detail in restoring the home takes you back to another era. Charming breakfast in the morning that makes you feel like your Victorian upper class! Highly recommended

    Rachael2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This home is beautiful and the hosts were amazing. I would highly recommend staying here. Conveniently located off several highway systems and minutes from downtown Bellows Falls. Eileen and her husband gave me a fascinating history lesson of the town and their lovely property. Breakfast was wonderful. Thank you both very much.

This custom build apartment is located just 10 minutes from I91. In the winter you are 30 minutes away from some of the best skiing around. Located on 85 private acres with great views this is the perfect winter get away. In the summer you can relax by the firepit, hike in the woods, work in the gardens (just kidding), collect breakfast from the chickens or visit some of the local breweries. We are as close or as far away as you would like us to be with our house right next door.
  • This place was flat out amazing! Bethany was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had, especially before we checked in. The space was spotless and had a bunch of small things that made it feel like home.

    Alfred2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Awesome private apartment with a quick 30 minute drive to Okemo Mountain!

    Jordan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this barn apartment for a ski weekend at Okemo Mountain. The pictures do not do the space justice at all. The drive up to the barn is beautiful in itself. The space is gorgeous, and the details provided by the host (farm fresh eggs! Hershey’s kisses! Coffee! A stocked medicine cabinet with toiletries!) were thoughtful and adorable. The barn is located a short drive to the mountain and the town of Chester has a couple of cute spots to eat (we loved Heritage Cafe for a pre-ski breakfast and coffee). Extra blankets and a postcard view....we loved it so much that we canceled our Airbnb for Burlington next month and rebooked with them for another ski weekend at Okemo next month.

    Cheryl2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bethany’s property was absolutely beautiful. Tucked away up on the hill, it was a perfect escape but still close enough to everything you need. Although the snow made it a little tough to get up the driveway, she was super helpful in assisting our way in. The barn loft was very cozy, very clean and a very welcoming feel. There were all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. Communication was great start to finish. Loved the stay here and will absolutely be back to enjoy the warmer weather and explore all the private property! Thanks Bethany!

    Justin2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfy and cozy studio with warm and thoughtful touches. The blankets were so comfortable and perfect to snuggle with. We were very at home in the studio with the thoughtful touches of fresh farm milk and eggs. We will definitely come back. I think it’s a great spot for any season. We went in the winter but I would love to come back anytime of year.

    Will2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A dream for any camper on the road looking for a quaint, quiet stay! We pitched our tent right alongside a small garden, fire pit, and an apple tree. Dennis offers an outdoor shower and sink as well as the cleanest and freshest outdoor toilet I’ve ever encountered! Access to some of the amenities inside the guesthouse make this such an outstanding value. Be sure to check the rich history of the town of Acworth as well as the house itself! Would stay here again anytime!

    Nicole2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have been more pleased with this space! The gardens and yard are so beautiful and Dennis was amazingly kind---hospitality through the roof! He went out of his way many times to make sure we were comfortable, above and beyond what we expected for just camping out back of a guesthouse. This place is such a treat, don't miss staying here!!

  • Super host. Very nice, even going out of her way to let me know about what was happening in town and beyond, such as a historical wall mural project. She welcomed me in a caring way to use her kitchen and dining room. Her dog Jazzy is lovely. Taryn always had the lights on when I came home late. I can't say enough about her great hosting skills. We also had great conversations, and I just felt like I was at my home away from home.

Cozy, light filled guest bedroom with a memory foam bed. Our guests agree: this bed is super comfy! Spacious shared bathroom. This modest, clean and warm home is on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to parks and trails. We're less than 5 minutes from major shopping plazas and Antioch University; about 7 minutes to downtown and Keene State College.
Our guest room is quiet and clean, with hardwood floors and views of green spaces from both windows. Nice sunset views and ample closet space for storage. Blackout drapes provide a restful environment. Please note that if you are especially tall, this may not be the bed for you! It is a double (full) size bed with headboard and footboard.
We're in a suburban neighborhood; vehicle traffic on our street is pretty minimal. Our lot sits between a wooded park and school athletic fields; on weekdays, expect to see morning and afternoon school foot traffic, and sports practices in the afternoons during fall and spring. Weekends and evenings are typically very quiet.
  • Jim and Raven are great hosts. I am a frequent guest. The space is always clean, welcoming, and quiet which is what I’ve needed after working a long day.

Welcome to the Tiny Art House! With a covered porch nearly as big as the house itself, there's plenty of room and a pleasing view of white pines and field grasses. It has a sleeping loft with a queen-sized bed and 2 extra twin mattresses. We offer one free one-time spa pass for quests book at least 2 nights (hot tub, salt water pool, gym, sauna, steam room and shower). Additional passes are $15 and do not have to be purchased ahead of time. Please read the full description of the space.
The Tiny Art House has a composting toilet, gas stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster, and simple cooking supplies. Spring water for drinking and light clean up is provided but there is no hot or running water (you can heat water on the gas stove). Tiny Art House is a ten-minute walk from the West River where you can walk or bike the 8 miles of trail along the river. You can take the 45 minute walk on the trail or drive 10 minutes to downtown Brattleboro where you'll find eateries, breweries, a movie theater, bowling, art museum and galleries, local shopping, book stores, hiking trails, and tubing and canoe/kayak rentals. There are also some great swimming spots on the West River.
The Tiny Art House is located two miles from the exit 3 rotary on route I-91. Most of the two miles are dirt roads. There are six other homes on our dead end road (Fox Farm) with lots of fields and woods in between.
  • Had an amazing time here! Ending up going by myself and it was a perfect peaceful retreat to relax, read, and keep things simple. The downtown area is close and has a lot of nice stores and restaurants. Honestly, wasn’t sure how the toilet worked but I managed and the bed was so comfortable!

    Lauren2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay! Three people and a dog stayed comfortably. Secluded in nature but close to conveniences.

    Jess2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night at Chuck’s place. Everything was clean, cozy, and easy going, and felt totally comfortable and private despite being on a property so near other homes.

    Amy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fun space. The bed was comfortable and the house was delightfully warm. The stars were gorgeous from the porch.

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely getaway for a weekend or more! We enjoyed being close to nature along West River and downtown Brattleboro.

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty good place. If you don’t want a typical motel in the Brattleboro area, this cute and cozy mini cabin will do the trick. It could use a little work on the craftsmanship (walls need extra reinforcing, painting) and the door should be able to be locked from the outside. I’d also add that you should definitely make sure You have a 4WD or AWD car if you’re staying here. The dirt road leading up to it is quite muddy and difficult to navigate if you don’t have a capable car. Other than that I wish there was running water and a fireplace, but since Chuck was upfront about that stuff, this place met my expectations. I don’t recommend this place for someone over 6 feet tall and over 250 pounds.

    Anour2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck provided us with an unforgettable stay; his Tiny Art House is so perfectly cozy and comforting, especially for watching the snow fall on a Winter’s night. The place was warm and inviting upon first entering, and kept it’s homey feel while still feeling like a retreat in the woods. I cannot recommend it enough, and I look forward to coming back and making more memories!

    Kendra2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck's TAH was the greatest answer to our need of a "do nothing and relax" getaway. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and Brattleboro was the best to wander and explore. But don't let the size of this little cabin fool you-- it is well beyond comfortable to just hang around and play cards in! The porch was even wonderful to sit out on while it snowed, wrapped up in a blanket. Our stay was beyond our expectations; we even got to buy some of Chuck's art to take home with us! This is an experience you will not regret, and one we plan on reliving many more times!

Relax and recharge in our recently renovated Vermont cottage. Enjoy this perfect getaway with hardwood floors, wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, a quiet sleeping loft, gorgeous natural light, views of surrounding hills and pond, gardens, and your own private entrance and back deck.
Our recently renovated Vermont cottage is your perfect retreat or getaway. The cottage shares 2 acres with the main house, but is a separate structure and is completely private. It is the perfect space for your wintry escape, summer vacation, romantic getaway, girls' weekend, or artist's retreat. Upstairs in the loft, you’ll find a quiet retreat with a queen bed surrounded by bookshelves and an extra long twin bed in the nook. With the window open, you'll fall asleep to the sounds of the brook. On the main level is a fully-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, full oven and propane stove, a countertop bar with stools, and a small table. The bathroom is just off the kitchen with plenty of shelves and a funky copper tub and shower. Four steps down brings you to the sitting room, a great reading or lounging spot with full southern exposure. The bay window has peaceful views out to the pond and woodlands and our neighbors' farm. For additional guests, the sofa opens up to a generously sized single bed and the south facing bay window and cushion seat doubles an additional single bed.
We live in a gorgeous, rural setting yet very close to the rich outdoor and arts scenes that Putney, Westminster West, and Brattleboro offer. The cottage is located just 5 miles to downtown Putney where you’ll find the Putney Food Co-op, The Putney General Store, the West Hill Bike Shop (mountain bike and x-country ski/snowshoe rentals) Check out our local orchard, Green Mountain Orchards, where you can pick-your-own blueberries, raspberries, plums, pears, peaches, and apples. They also sell delicious homemade pies and cider donuts. For outdoor enthusiasts, we are close to ski mountains— under an hour to Mt. Snow, Stratton, Magic Mountain, Bromley, Killington, and Okemo, and 30 minutes to Grafton Outdoor Center for nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Wake up early and be the first on the slopes! We live on a paved road (no problems in winter or mud season!). We are 9 miles to the quintessential village of Saxton’s River, 10 miles to Walpole, New Hampshire, 15 miles to Brattleboro, and 13 miles to Grafton. Under 10 minutes to The Putney School, Greenwood School, Landmark College, and Vermont Academy.
  • The place was amazing! Spacious, clean, stylish, with really nice personal touches. Lauren was a great host, and made sure everything was to our liking. We live in Boston and it was a great place to get away from the city, the place also felt very private. Highly recommended it.

✓ Two Beds: One Queen and One Futon. ✓ Bedroom has Adjoining Sitting Room. ✓ Wifi and Smart TV with Local Channels. ✓ Complimentary Water, Tea and Coffee. ✓ Bathroom Includes Shampoo and Soap ✓ Two Block walk to Downtown Keene You will be staying in one of the oldest homes in Keene. The Aaron Seaman House was built in 1804 and maintains much of it's antique Colonial Charm. We welcome travelers from all walks of life and consider hosting a privilege.
Your rooms include a bedroom with a queen bed with 100% cotton linens and an adjoining sitting room with a futon that can be used as a double bed. There is a door in between the rooms so if one person wants to sleep, while the other stays up to read or watch some TV, this gives added privacy. Your rooms also include a ✓ mini-fridge and ✓ coffee / tea set up ✓ and bottled water. Your bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in the 42" x 36" stand-up shower. Please note the decorative shower door has an opening of 18" wide. We only use 100% cotton towels / wash clothes. The Aaron Seaman House is over 200 years old and retains many of its antique charms such as wide wooden board floors, stained glass over the entryway, and classic crown molding around the downstairs doorways. Being over 200 years old, it also has the typical quirks of a house this age. The walls are original plaster / horse hair and the floors have settled throughout the years. Back in the day, homes were made for much shorter people, so for our taller guests, keep that in mind as you enter the rooms! In addition to your private rooms and bathroom, there is also a sitting area at the top of the hall, beside your bedroom. It’s another area that you are welcome to use.
Keene is a quaint New England town with an "up and coming" foodie and art scene. You will be two blocks from downtown Keene / Head of the Square with easy walk to Keene's many local shops, cafes, restaurants as well as Keene State College. Enjoy the free walking tour of the Wall Dog Historical Murals scattered around the downtown. There are also walking bicycle trails nearby too. We are an easy drive to many lakes, hiking and ski areas, including the famous Mt. Monadnock. Spofford Lake, Surry Dam, Island Pond and Warren Lake are some local favorite swimming and kayaking spots. 15 minutes North is beautiful Walpole, NH with Burdick's Chocolate Shop and European Restaurant, as well as the stunning Walpole Mountain View Winery. A 20 – 25 minute drive West will take you to Brattleboro VT, a funky, fun classic VT spot. The Marina Restaurant and Whetstone Brewery's rooftop Beer Garden both overlook the Connecticut River. We love visiting the Grafton Cheese shop and Saxton River Distillery in Brattleboro. Many ski areas are in easy driving distance: Granite Gorge, Crotched Mountain, Mt. Sunapee, Mt. Snow, Pat’s Peak and more!
  • Bonnie and Abe are great hosts. Could not have asked for more. Thank you for being such awesome hosts

  • Bonnie and Abe are sweethearts! Their space is sparkling clean and has thoughtful touches everywhere! She went the extra mile; buying some chocolate covered strawberries for my wife's birthday which coincided with our stay! They were available but always gave us space and privacy. Matter of fact it was as though the space was in another house altogether. The space is thoughtfully furnished! Bed is incredibly comfortable. Area has a small but tasteful living room with pull out couch and tv and such. Bathroom is spotless and furnished with everything a guest would need. The house is easy to find and a walking/short driving distance from restaurants and entertainment. If ever in Keene again, I know where I'll stay. My wife and I both loved it!

  • This AirBNB was amazing! The decor was lovely with authentic charm and complimenting colors. It was very clean and well maintained. There communication before and during our stay was exceptional. The extra amenities such as bottled water, Keurig coffee/tea, mini fridge and bathroom toiletries were thoughtfully provided. They even provided bathrobes, cloth slippers and eye masks, for lounging or relaxing. The electric mini fireplace provided a cozy New England feel to the room. We especially enjoyed the separate/adjoining sitting area. We look forward to staying again!

  • I had the most amazing stay at my first ever Airbnb with Bonnie & Abe. They were so nice and hospitable. This was way more than I expected. Thank you, - Phil

  • To stay at the Aaron Seaman House in Keene, New Hampshire was unique opportunity while visiting this small college town. The historic home has charm and warmth, with personal touches made by Bonnie and Abe. The room and sitting area is warm, bright, welcoming, and provides provincial colonial charm and comfort to the weary traveler. From the personal touches of maple candies on the bed, a welcome note on things to know, and a slate board for a personalized message welcoming you, this was a genuine diamond of a find. I most enjoyed my stay here, and would highly recommend it to anyone. I video-called my spouse to show her the space, and we wish to visit sometime in the summer to enjoy the town of Keene and to stay here at the Aaron Seaman House.

You would have the entire second floor, up a fairly steep stairway, which has two bedrooms (a queen and a full size) and a private bathroom. Our house is in rural New Hampshire surrounded by pastureland and gardens but is only 10 minutes from Keene. There are plenty of outdoor recreation possibilities. There are miles of trails adjacent to our property for walking or running, biking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Many major ski areas are less than an hour away.
It is a quiet and picturesque setting. We have 2 mountain bikes available for use as well as cross country skis, skates and snowshoes for winter time. A rail path runs near the house with miles of trails. We provide a light breakfast of toast or english muffins with homemade jams and tea or coffee
We live on a dirt road with rail trails adjacent to our house. We have many gardens, fruit trees and a large veggie garden. It is quiet and rural yet easy access to Brattleboro or Keene.
  • Jan and Dan were excellent hosts! They were very accommodating and understanding of our trip plans etc. They were happy to y’all with us and be pleasant, but also happy to leave us to ourselves when necessary. Overall, I would highly recommend staying with them. PS their cat Gary is a cuddler!

We are a pet-friendly BnB and this 1865 Victorian Farmhouse has several bedrooms that are available. This listing is for the Blue Room. Quick walking distance to the beautiful village and town of Bellows Falls with its turn of the century architecture for antiques, book shops and locally made art, retail boutiques, dining and entertainment.
  • Leah is a great host with a beautiful house filled with positive energy. The Blue Room is comfortable, quiet at night and has amazing wallpaper. Leah also gave us great restaurant recommendations - Flat Iron Exchange has great coffee!

    Omar2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed the night at Leah’s while we were at a funeral, and are very appreciative of Leah’s kindness and flexibility in working with our peculiar request. We needed a much earlier check-in time, as well as the ability to leave my dog at the house while we attended the funeral, and Leah not only agreed, but she also offered to personally watch my pup for us while we were away. In the end, she unfortunately could not watch him because she had to unexpectedly spend the night at the hospital for personal health reasons... and yet even sick and from a hospital bed, she arranged for a friend to let us into the house and Leah was extremely communicative in making sure we were comfortable and happy. She opened up her home to us wish such trust and ease, and we are very thankful for her kindness! In the end, we unfortunately did not meet Leah in person but we had a wonderful interaction with her through messages. Her home and apothecary are very quaint - the antique charm was lovely, and are very happy with our stay. Thank you again Leah, and I hope you heal soon!!

    Andrea2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Leah is a very warm and welcoming host. If you stay in this authentic 1860's house, be sure to take a class with Leah. It was the highlight of our stay! A truly wonderful experience! Leah was so generous with her time and knowledge. We made wonderful apothecary products custom made to our own preferences. Bellows Falls was also a good jumping off point for sites in southern VT and NH.

    Susan2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot in the middle of rural Vermont. Great for a quiet get away and close to nature.

    Sam2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Leah, the owner, is definitely the star of this show, going out of her way to accommodate all our needs, showing us about town, and generally making us feel at home. This is an early Victorian mansion, very large, with all the wonderful woody aromas, large double hung windows and many period features still in place. If you like old houses, as we do, the place definitely has personality. While it is on a main street (as “main” as can be in this tiny picturesque village), it is quiet; what little street noise there is didn’t filter into the room. It is four or five blocks from the main village Square, reached by a street with a charming set of stairs leading to the commercial area. I’d also mention two places (at Leah’s suggestion of course,): Leslie‘s Tavern, a farm to table restaurant of New York quality, and Halloran’s farmstead with it’s Café Loco for breakfast or lunch. Both are literally about a five minute drive from town.

    Mitchell2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, wonderful mid-19th century house that has not fallen victim to sub-par "upgrades", so there is charm in every room. This also means there are some quirks that come along with a 175 year old house, so if you are expecting a bland hotel atmosphere this is not the place for you. Leah was knowledgeable about the history of the house and also the area, and gave me a tour of her apothecary shop and some homemade parting gifts as well! Fresh hand-blended iced tea was available in the kitchen all day. Leah offered to make coffee and breakfast that I was not able to take advantage of due to time constraints, but Leah also offers full use of her kitchen and made recommendations on where to go to eat. She also made space in the fridge for some of my special non-dairy items. The house was very clean and bright, with antiques everywhere, a lot of which are original to the house. The house is super clean, I couldn't even tell there are two cats. The main road can be a little noisy if the windows are open, but I was so tired from my activities that I had no trouble sleeping. One tip for travelers with a sensitive nose: my room did not smell like smoke, but the common areas did, and the listing does state that smoking is permitted in designated areas, so just something to be aware of in case you are sensitive to smoke. Overall a great stay and I would definitely go back!

In the village there is a wonderful farm to table restaurant, the Gleanery. A local pub, friendly, great food with indoor and outdoor dining, JD's Pub. The General Store, is the oldest continually run general store in Vt. The Next Stage, Yellow Barn, Sandglass Theater, these places provide an amazing collection of visual, musical, spoken word and world renowned art and artist to experience. These cultural event locations are but a mile away for the Cottage I hope you choose for your stay.
Originally built as a guest house. A perfect getaway for some peace and quiet. It gets dark here at night, very dark. You will see a sky full of stars most nights. Only a mile from the village on a dirt road. Very quite, private and in the woods. Extra care is put into cleaning every surface between guests. Keeping it very clean brings me another peace of mind I can share with you.
  • Kathleen cabin was the perfect place to get away into nature during our trip to Vermont. Tucked away, it was the perfect place to enjoy the peace and quiet in her comfortable cabin. Kathleen was the perfect host even accommodating our late 9 pm arrival, and then graciously teaching us how to use her wood stove. The wood stove was the perfect touch to the clean and cozy cabin. Kathleen was quick to respond to questions through texts and calls and we can’t wait to be back. Thank you Kathleen!

    Jess2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen’s place was super cozy and super rustic. It is nice to stay here because you really get the sense that you are out in the woods.

    Rj2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage is a perfect retreat when you want to get away from it all. Kathleen is responsive to questions and ensures there is plenty of wood for the stove, tips for the area including having a flashlight for late afternoon walks and some supplies in the fridge (milk, granola, yogurt..). The bathtub with the view of the woods is heavenly and the bed was cozy and warm with another great view of the woods. It's rustic with the pleasures of on demand hot water, electricity and good cell service. My hardest decision was whether to sit up in the bedroom or down by the wood stove hearing it crackling.

    Tracy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen's place was absolutely fantastic! She was very communicative, kind, and flexible. Everything was incredibly clean - and just as described. Super adorable place, and perfect for a getaway. The town is nearby - with great restaurants and diners and lovely people. Will likely be back, and could not recommend more.

  • Kathleen’s place is perfect for an escape. The cabin has small touches that make your weekend perfect. The wood stove was warm and cozy on a snowy weekend. It was the most comfortable bed with the softest blankets. Hope to come back again.

  • Beautiful home / b&b in a great little town, great breakfast and hosts. A+!

  • This place was the perfect spot for a romantic Vermont weekend! The house is charming, Eileen and Ed are so kind, the town has plenty of options for food, drink, and adventure, and the breakfast in the morning was amazing. We’ve stayed in many places in Vermont, but this is a spot we are making plans to come back to! Would highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy night in an idyllic Vermont town.

    Emily2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful 19th century home. Beautiful and comfortable bedroom with an amazing breakfast in the morning.

    Chris2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience! They were extremely nice and thoughtful in every detail of our stay. Totally recommend staying at their place.

    Gloria2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Where to even begin!!! I stayed with Ed & Eileen last year (which was SUCH a wonderful experience) and then again this year while I was attending a local artist retreat. They are some of the most hospitable, gracious and kind-hearted people out there. Ed & Eileen always make me feel SO welcome from the moment I arrive. They greeted me with delicious appetizers and sparkling cocktails to enjoy on the porch with them. My room was gorgeous, spotless and SO comfortable. They even had a little gift basket waiting for me! The breakfast in the morning is just incredible!!! I loved getting to choose from the many delicious options-such as pancakes, waffles, bacon, eggs, sausage, pineapple juice, orange juice, etc. And I swear they have the best coffee ever. :-) As I mentioned, this is my second stay with them and they truly do make you feel like family. I loved coming home to them after my workshop in the evenings--we would enjoy wine and wonderful conversations on the front porch together. The last night was really special and we went into town and enjoyed drinks and appetizers at one of the local bars-what a great time!! Ed & Eileen are truly so special and I can honestly say I consider them family at this point. Do yourself a favor and stay at this beautiful home. 10 STARS!!!! I cannot wait to come back. <3 <3 <3

  • I really enjoyed my stay in this lovely house. Eileen and Ed are warm and welcoming, helpful with suggestions for the local area and provide delightful small touches that make your visit special. I hope I am able to return to Vermont and to this wonderful home.

    Dorothy2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen and Ed extended a very gracious and warm welcome to me. Their home was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing in every way. I would have enjoyed staying longer than my one night. It could have been a destination in itself. They have a lovely front porch to sit on and ponder the view of the mountains, they are close enough to walk into town to enjoy the restaurants and shops, and they served the most delicious complimentary breakfast. It was wonderful.

Magnificent garden, comfortable queen-sized bed, private deck overlooking a gently burbling waterfall and stream, delicious breakfast, serene, nourishing and beautiful surroundings. We warmly invite you to stay with us.
Sanctuary, our home, is filled with light and plants and art. There are views of nature out of all of the many large windows. The hand-painted walls give a feeling of warmth and coziness to the spacious rooms with slanting high ceilings. Our lovely guest room is off of the living room and not near other bedrooms. It has a large window onto the garden, as well as sliding glass doors that open onto your private deck overlooking our small garden pond. There is a half-bath in the guest room, and the shared full bath with a great shower and large oval bathtub is next door to your room. A small refrigerator is in the guest room for your use. You are welcome to relax in our living room. Guests particularly like to read or do yoga on the raised platform at the far end of the living room. We provide organic coffee and tea along with a wonderful breakfast for our guests. Sanctuary is situated in the forest just above the tiny village of Westminster West. The villages of Putney and Saxtons River are 7 and 5 miles away, and provide interesting restaurants, pubs, a food coop, a village market and general store, terrific live music of all kinds. The Saxtons River Fourth of July parade is legendary as the best small-town parade ever! We are ten minutes from the Putney School, the Greenwood School, Vermont Academy and Landmark College. Putney has a farmers' market on Sunday. This is the best of Vermont! Oh, and we are just 25 minutes from Brattleboro, a vibrant, eclectic, art-filled town of 13,000. The gardens at Sanctuary are really amazing. It is an oasis of flowers and veggies in the middle of a tall deciduous forest. Fairies live here, or so say our young friends who sometimes build fairy houses. Lots of frogs, toads, and birds for sure. Quiet, beautiful, restful, heartful.
Idyllic Vermont countryside and small villages. We can direct you to great nearby hiking trails: The Pinnacle, Putney Mountain and Black Mountain are all within a few minutes. There are 5 farmers' markets within 30 minutes of us. Good antiquing in nearby Chester or Bellows Falls. Many great performances as nearby as Putney (Yellow Barn, Sandglass Theatre, Next Stage) and too many to count in Brattleboro!
  • As I looked out of our window of the bedroom, the moonlight cast pale shadows of the woods onto the blanket of snow. This is a special place, and beyond the physical beauty surrounding the house, there is a serenity that is present. Caitlin and Peter, our hosts, made us feel welcome and were very caring. The breakfast was delicious and served in a sunny and charming dining room, surrounded by well cared plants. I would gladly return and recommend a stay in this charming home.

  • The happiest of accidents was coming across this beautiful home. I felt so welcomed and right at home!

    Valeria2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our too-short stay at Caitlin and Peter's lovely home! The easy and quick communication, the comfortable bed, and the beautifully decorated space are all plusses, but the real treats are Caitlin's delicious breakfast and talking with these wonderful hosts, who manage to make strangers feel like old friends. We would love to return to see Caitlin and Peter and the lovely property in another season!

    Leah2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Caitlin and Peter's Sanctuary for a retreat, and a rejuvenating retreat was just what we got. The house and grounds are so beautiful and well kept, and Caitlin is so kind and thoughtful, that we basked in soulfulness. Breakfast with Caitlin and Peter was absolutely wonderful too... delicious, nutritious, with interesting conversation.

    Teta2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for us! This was my second stay- very comfortable bed, wonderful hosts and a delicious breakfast...we would happily return again and again

  • Amazing weekend getaway. Truly! It was everything we wanted. BEAUTIFUL space! So unique. Great travel tips, thoughtful touches & great host. Very clean. Very comfortable. We had an amazing time renting snow mobiles a quick 45 min drive away at Mt Snow!

    Julia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is extremely clean, super cute, cozy but feels spacious on the inside, has an amazing bed, and the windows look out into the woods which makes it a very relaxing place to be. We enjoyed exploring the woods behind the house and playing scrabble. Great spot!

  • Loved this winter hideout. Super smart use of space and so tastefully put together. A perfect spot to use as a base for skiing at Mount Snow. Can't wait to return - a hot mug of Duchess coffee, book in hand, watching the snow fall. What an incredible weekend break!

    Chloe2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Very cozy and quiet. We'll definitely be back.

  • Honeycrisp Cottage was incredibly beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully appointed. The bed was so comfortable and the panoramic views of the snow-covered pine forest were incredible to wake up to each morning! The hike down to the creek on the property was magical in the snow and would be beautiful in any weather! The cabin felt secluded but close enough to town to easily run in for groceries/deli at the excellent co-op. Andrea was also super helpful and responsive! I would love to stay again in the future!

Private studio with sauna set in the lush woods of southeastern VT. Walk out your door and onto the best hiking and biking trails in the area. Family friendly. All are welcome.
We are a family with two young children and a quiet, kind, kid-friendly dog inhabiting the house above the studio. The house is quiet from around 7 pm to around 7 am, and then the sounds of daily life can be expected.
Walk, hike, run, bike, or ski right from your private door. Our house backs up against vast protected forest and well-maintained, extensive trails. This is a perfect spot to immerse in nature, unwind, and enjoy the peace, quiet, and a slower pace of being. This is a wonderful place to play: for kids and pets to thrive in exploring the woods, and for adults to relax and rejuvenate. Our space is nestled atop a quiet, cool hill in the Vermont woods. Enjoy year-round nature and exploration from your door, or venture out into the many surrounding towns and destinations. Situated 2 miles from the center quaint Westminster West, we're in quintessential Vermont, and neighbored by maple sugar operations, renowned artisan cheese makers, and talented artists. In the summer enjoy the cool of our hilltop forest, and the quiet of our gardens and woods. In the fall soak in the phenomenal fall colors, and in the winter snowshoe from your door, ski on local groomed nordic trails, or head to a number of popular VT downhill or nordic ski areas. Beauty and recreation abound any time of year!
  • This place is a charm! Perfect size studio for me and my wife for a short getaway. We went skiing at Mount Snow and it was a great time. Liz is a great host and their home has nice touches. Highly recommended.

    Chris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a great weekend for us! It felt like a week-long vacation retreat honestly and that's due to Liz's thoughtfulness and amazing hospitality. The place is SPARKLING clean, very stylish and comfortable, the sauna is a huge perk, and so much amazing space for our doggy to run around and play (letting her right out the front door is huge perk). On top of greeting us when we arrived, Liz also had a great selection of tea, coffee, vegan snacks from the co-op, all the "must-haves" in the bathroom in case we forgot to pack them and more we also appreciated. You can hear a bit upstairs but truthfully that didn't bother us at all as it really was a relaxing place that left us rejuvenated. Def plan to be back!

    Nikki2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We can’t thank Liz and her family enough for your incredible hospitality. Liz was so flexible and we appreciate it so much. Quick responses, easy going, great local tips, lovely and overly generous goodies, need we say more?

    Shelby2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Maybe one of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed at! A perfect spot for relaxing and exploring. Liz and her family go above and beyond to accommodate guests and have many thoughtful touches, including food and coffee. Will definitely come again!

    Justin & Jenny2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly cozy and warm feel. Truly a wonderful get away. Amenities were perfect.

    Jimmy2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's forest studio was the perfect getaway. We came on a ski trip, and we were approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes away from all the hills we wanted to ski. The sauna was a lovely touch after a long day, and the place was nice and quiet. The place had lovely touches of Vermont, and nice little homemade and local treats upon arrival. We really enjoyed Liz's home and we will definitely be back! In winter months the driveway is a little difficult to get up and down if your car doesn't do well in the snow (like mine!). The drive up to the cottage is a little tricky on unpaved roads, but that is the only bad thing I have to say about the place!

    Emma2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, great hiking. Loved this place so much!

  • If you want a comfy stay in a super cool home situated in a breathtakingly beautiful location with amazing hosts, you should stay with Karen and Chris (and their sweet cat)! We loved everything about our one-night stay at The Sugar House. Everything was exceedingly clean, and the bedroom, bathroom and loft space are fantastic - I just wish we had been able to stay longer to enjoy it all. Chris and Karen are very friendly and welcoming, and we really appreciated their suggestions for local food and activities. Thank you!!

    David2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my girlfriend booked this place for a short getaway towards some piece and quiet and we were satisfied. Chris and Karen were very kind and thoughtful throughout our stay. The bed (even the couches) were ridiculously comfortable. They sincerely tried to make sure we feel home and they succeeded. House was very clean, and with a quiet whisper ac the temperature was set to perfection. Overall, very satisfied!

    Candost2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a pleasure staying with Chris and Karen! It was one of the best AirBNBs we have stayed in. Their hospitality and welcoming nature was astounding. It was equally matched with the fantastic scenic views we enjoyed from the deck. There are even walking trails that we’ll enjoy on our next visit there. They provided almost every “extra” or amenity we could think of, from extra toiletries and blow dryer in the bathroom, to a cozy and sunny private lounging area with some space in a small refrigerator (that included some complimentary juices and sodas), to a binder of info on area restaurants and wine. The bed was very comfortable and the room was dark and quiet at night. The entire space was very clean and beautifully decorated with a rustic New Hampshire charm. I highly recommend this AirBNB, and we are truly looking forward to staying with them again!!

    Judith2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice home, private upstairs bedroom, bathroom and loft area. Stunning views. If we go back to Alyson’s for any other weddings we know where we are staying!

We have converted the sauna cabin into a simple retreat at the forest's edge. Nothing fancy, but a fabulous view over the treetops to Canoe Brook below and there are trails that wind through the woods and landscaped gardens of our homestead. You can hear the creek and the barred owls sing in the evening. There's a small woodstove for cool nights and evenings. The Putney School and Green Mountain Orchard are close by as are all of the lovely attractions of the Putney and Brattleboro area.
The cabin is on our property which has flower and vegetable gardens as well as countless trails and walking routes. You can bike the gravel roads, explore the many swimming holes nearby, and visit local farmers markets and orchards. This is rural Vermont living. We have a dog on the property who is friendly. We also run an active artist studio producing paintings and ceramics. The cabin is right next to our house so there will be casual interaction when visiting though we fully respect your privacy. The cabin is small and should really be thought of as a camping experience. There's no kitchen so bringing your own camping gear for meals is essential. There are no sleeping mats or bedding provided. You must bring your own sleeping pads and sleeping bags/bedding. There is no running water, however there will be a large water dispenser in the cabin filled with fresh water for your stay. There is an outhouse, but no shower or full bathroom. Think, simple.
We are the first driveway after the asphalt ends. Rural roads meandering past farms and old stone walls, the perfect routes for checking out the fall colors are right out the door. The Putney School trails for skiing and hiking literally begin at the door of this cabin. You can go for miles of trails here, or nearby is Putney Mountain and the Pinnacle--local favorites that offer even more opportunity to explore this magic landscape. And Putney as a village provides so much in the form of arts, theater, farmers markets, orchards, and great people.
  • This is a sweet little rustic cabin to camp in for a weekend of hiking, trail running or just being quiet and unplugged. The location is quiet and an ideal distance to the quaint town of Putney. There are extensive trails right out the back door and a beautiful brook below the cabin. If you are a camper this is a real treat in the colder months with a woodstove and big windows overlooking a beautiful forest. Aaron was accommodating and kind. A great find!

    Amy2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Putney is stunning in the fall! The Cabin Retreat was truly memorable. The location is incredible - cute, rustic cabin made comfy in the autumn chill by a wood stove; hiking literally out the back steps and loads of places to hike around the area; the aesthetic of the cabin grounds is truly lovely. Aaron was welcoming (so was Thistle!), quick to respond, and helpful with suggestions about places to go & things to do.

    Maggie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Such an adorable cozy cabin, and Aaron was an outstanding host. He had recommendations for hiking, food, and activities; the cabin was clean and supplied with fresh water, and he had an extra sleeping bag when my boyfriend forgot his. Loved it!

    Camelia2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the best camping AirBnb’s I’ve ever stayed in! Aaron and his wife are so friendly and welcome. They met us at check in and told us all about the trails behind the tiny house as well as great swimming holes and hikes in the area. They provided drinking water and electricity which was exactly what we needed. Will definitely stay again if I get the opportunity!

    Katherine2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Thistle gave us a lovely welcome greeting as we arrived around sunset. Beautiful, creative and inviting touches in a sweet natural setting. Lovely, lovely. The tiny cabin didn't feel too small because of the nice size windows that invited in the woodsy surroundings. A string of lights were on to say "Come on in!" We completely enjoyed our stay, took a few hikes, refreshed ourselves in the creek and slept well listening to crickets and owls at night, distant roosters in the morning. Aaron helped us get familiar with the area and was easy and enjoyable to talk to as well. This is a fun and peaceful way to take a break and enjoy the natural world without setting up a tent, hassling with bugs or dirt. A wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend a stay. A great value! Donna
