“From the very moment we entered Essex, to the wonderful surprise of opening that big wooden gate and seeing what was ours for a few days was truly something. The streets are enchanting, as well as the people, and do not get me started on the houses! They’re beautiful! You can see and feel the history, while taking a drive to the bigger cities like Boston and Salem (which were also so amazing) for some modern or tourist entertainment. The cottage itself was adorable, and so accommodating down to the little things provided such as coffee, teas, and a few other goodies to enjoy. We took many walks down the path in the back that goes along into the town, and satisfied our bellies with local places within walking distance. There’s even an Essex walking tour, to all the other history nerds like myself, which provide info and guides through the strip to gain a deeper insight into the history of the town! Tons of antique shops just down the road from the cottage, but honestly it was so nice, we rarely left. Spending the cold nights playing Scabble or hanging on the back patio just talking, this was the perfect vacation for a couple of Texans. My first trip using this app, and definitely not my last! Thank you again to Mary, meeting you was a treat and everything was beyond great. Five out of five y’all. Book while you can!”

“Very clean. Quiet. Comfy king-size beds. Super Host provided us with everything we needed. Beautiful morning panoramic Snapchat videos of the lake and surroundings to share with my family back home. A lovely spot we hope to revisit in the summer.”

“Our family had a fantastic experience at Malt Hill! We needed a last minute place to stay for five days and Julianna was able to pleasantly and immediately accommodate all our needs. Our family of four (2 adults and two teens) enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the whimsical and well thought out landscaping. Upon our arrival we were greeted with smiles and given a tour of the grounds and all the hidden nooks and crannies. What a delightful botanical location! The apartment was prefect for our family of four and we enjoyed cooking and grilling nightly. We had a few fires in the fire pit that was surrounded with comfortable rocking chairs and a huge slab of stone that can double as a dining table. The teens enjoyed the walk to the private beach and returned many times to enjoy the sun/sand/water. Daily dips in the grotto pool were magical as were our nightly soaks in the redwood hot-tub with fabulous views of the ocean from both. The proximity to the center of Beverly Farms made it easy to pick up supplies as needed. An added plus was the ability to do our laundry! We had complete privacy and never felt help was more than a quick call away and all our questions were immediately answered. We are looking forward to planning another stay at Malt Hill. Thank you for sharing your beautiful historic home with us. It was far superior to staying in a hotel. ”
