Places to stay in Walnut Grove

Places to stay in Walnut Grove
Close to the Grand Island Mansion and Grand Island Vineyards. Stay here while on a wine tour of the Delta or be within two miles of the mansion for a wedding. The apartment is right on Steamboat Slough and a quarter mile from Steamboat beach. Just 10 minutes up the river road and you are at the popular Sugar Mill in Clarksburg. You’ll love my place because of you can enjoy a nice glass of wine while taking in a beautiful Delta sunset from the deck that overlooks the slough.
The apartment has one bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite and a bunk bed room off the back deck.
  • Wonderful location and view of the river right out the back door, and a great space! Roomy with everything you need to feel right at home - we would definitely stay here again.

  • This clean, quiet spot is a great place to get away from it all. Surrounded by vineyards, down the road from a historical mansion, and overlooking the meandering waterways, we actually came back early from our excursions one day to just sit on the deck and watch the sun set.

  • Emily's place was really lovely for a weekend getaway with the family. The Delta is such a magical place to go. We love the history of the area and of Emily's place in particular (it used to be a restaurant). Can't beat the view from the deck. We sat our there, late at night, watched shooting stars and listened to coyotes.

  • A lovely little place right on the slough. Close to Staten Island for bird watching. Having the heat on at our arrival was a treat on a cold day. We really enjoyed the place. And two bathrooms! Thanks again Emily

  • What a terrific place! Great view of the river and excellent hospitality! My friend forgot her shirt and Emily was kind enough to ship it back to me! Thanks, Emily!

  • Jean's hospitality is beyond wonderful. Place is sparkling clean and she was very helpful in showing the different things that are available to check out around. Also enjoyed the lovely conversations with her and Jerry.

  • Have just spend a couple of weeks at Jean's apartment located in the charming historical town of Isleton, visiting relatives residing in nearby Rio Vista. Jean is the perfect hostess, very helpful and obliging, bringing up great suggestions as regard to what to see, interesting places to visit and even taking part in events of the local community. The apartment is equipped with all amenities you'll need for a most pleasant stay, and Isleton is, given its location, a perfect spot for a stay in the delta area with short distances to nearby historical towns at the Sacramento river as well as larger cities such as Sacramento, Fairfield, Stockton and, of course, San Francisco. Would highly recommend Jean's apartment, 5 stars!

  • Beautiful apartment-style home. More spacious inside than I thought it would be. Very clean and Jean was an amazing host. She met us at the door, showed us around and had an array of pamphlets with info on what there was to see and do around the Delta. The location was great, too. Just across the street from a market, and a 30-second walk from at least three restaurants and a fun taproom, as well as little shops and art galleries. Only 30 minutes or so from Lodi’s wine country. There were some early-morning noises from a restaurant that is next to the place, but nothing too bad. Would stay here again!

    Benjamin2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jean has been a fantastic host and her apartment exceed the expectations. She was able to welcome us the same day I booked, despite having to get everything ready in a short time. The apartment was very clean and the little town of Isleton is lovely, the perfect spot to get away from the Bay Area and still be close enough to commute. Can't get better than this.

    Silvio2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little town on the delta with succulents everywhere! (We were able to take a mix of succulents in a handmade clay pot home). Great for a nice and quiet getaway. Conveniently located on Main Street near restaurants and unique shops. There is a laundry mat which was great for our extended stay. Jean was around, but it was mostly private. I definitely recommend staying at Jean’s place!

  • Fab stay. Thanks!

    Maggie2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The California delta is a wonderful place to experience history, architecture, agriculture, cuisine and so much more. Isleton is a perfect location for a restful stay as well as sightseeing. Isleton and the neighboring towns of Locke, Walnut Grove, Clarksburg, Ryde and many more hold so much rich history and host an array of rotating festivals and events. Steps away from Jean’s place is, Yes My Sweet bbq (definitely a must) as well as the Mei Wah tap house. Only a short commute to the Bay Area, Sacramento and Lodi makes this a hidden gem. Jean was a perfect host in every way imaginable. Jean’s place is immaculate, beautifully decorated and has all the comforts of home. We fell in love with Isleton and the delta at large and really look forward to exploring the delta again. Thank you Jean!

Our people friendly cows, Melvin & Roy love attention from all, especially those that have treats of carrots, pumpkins and peppermint sticks. We are pet friendly and look forward to your visit.

  • This is the cutest place ever! The dogs are sweeter then sugar and the cows are adorable. Michael was so friendly and accommodating and the home was so cute!

    Delaney2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay when visiting the Delta. Perfect for the angler who has a boat along with them. Tons of room to park and the 5th wheel works great for your needs. Fuel is reasonably priced right in Isleton and cheap ice at the grocery store. Michael is a great host. Will stay here again. I highly recommend.

    Walt2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was very nice. This was my first time staying inside a camper, and I must say it was a pleasant suprise. The camper was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. Behind the camper there's two cows. I went to say hi and they walked right up to me and let me pet them..kinda reminded me of a dog..they just wanted love. I give this place a thumbs up.

  • What we really liked: Friendly hosts Country feel Short walk to town Unique experience Under-the-radar area of California

    Trinka2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time staying on the farm. The sunsets are beautiful and their 2 mini cows and 3 dogs are the sweetest. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind. Would highly recommend staying here for a relaxing and wonderful time.

    Shilpa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Terri are the best kind of Air BnB hosts; they have created a special space in a charming and relaxing community and enjoy sharing it. The Meadow is lovely, with a fantastic open view of the sunset. The 5th wheel that acts as your room is actually pretty swank, surprisingly roomy and very comfortable. Priced like a Motel 6 but sooooo much nicer! You will meet friendly dogs and awesome miniature cows(ask for a few carrots to feed them, it is fun!)When we return to the Delta, we will definitely try to book here again.

    Mark2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were looking for a quiet retreat in a calm, scenic, isolated place and that's exactly what we got. Additionally, Mike and Teri were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, with some delightful surprise treats. We met their three dogs and two cows, and explored the property, but weren't interested in seeing the town. It was a dreary day, but we really enjoyed the peace and quiet, watching the birds and enjoying our fire as day turned into night.

It was clean, comfortable, well located, and there were nice little touches like coffee. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to stay close by the Delta, check out Isleton, historic Locke, or any of the other nearby places.

Clean and separate. Social distancing compliant. Zero contact required for lockbox checkin. Small 2bd/1bath cottage. A 2 minute walk to the Sacramento River, bars, and restaurants. Boat launch is practically accross the street. The kitchen is stocked with plates, silverware, pots, coffee maker, etc. (Just please clean up after yourself)
An electric fireplace/heater in the main room gives a homey atmosphere. The larger bedroom has a queen bed and the smaller has a twin with a pull out trundle bed plus a rollaway twin.
There are only 2 occupied properties on this block: mine and the 4 plex next door. On one end of the block (next to the house) is a church and on the other end is the Library. Beyond that one more block is the city park with a pool and playground. Over one block is Main Street, where there are a few restaurants and bars to choose from within walking distance (seriously, 2 minute walk). I recommend Lucy's for the food but everyone visiting Rio Vista must stop by Foster's Bighorn to see the famous collection mounted animal heads (not for the sensitive or young children). A 1/2 mile walk along the river will take you to the Rio Vista Bridge and the city pier. In the other direction you can stroll down Edgewater Dr through one of the fancier collections of waterfront homes and end up at The Point restaurant for dinner and drinks overlooking the water. The city boat launch is directly across Front St and charges $10. A 10 minute drive up Hwy 12 will get you to the Delta Loop where you can explore the waterfront resorts and restaurants.

  • The delta remains one of the most important cultural and historical landmarks in California with Walnut Grove sitting at its geographic heart. I have come to this area for many years because I simply can’t get enough of its unique environment and welcoming people. This spot is perfect to stay for the proper delta experience. It has everything you could possibly need at the perfect location which is walking distance from food and drink. Nearby are other historical landmarks such as Locke and Isleton, incredible bird watching at the nature preserves, and great wine without the pretentious attitude that so often accompanies it. I highly recommend you stay here.

    Robert2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca’s place is a lovely two story home with several separately rented rooms. Some with private bathrooms, some with shared bathrooms. Coffee, tea and store bought muffins are available to you for breakfast. With milk and OJ in the fridge. There is a lobby entry and dining room with couches and chairs to sit after a busy day poking around the delta. Rebecca suggested a couple of wonderful places to eat. Al Wop’s burger in Locke and an Italian restaurant on the water just outside of Walnut Grove. Both places had excellent food and a real atmosphere of days gone by. Good to take note that many places are closed Monday-Tuesday/Wednesday if you want to experience more of the shops. Her place is well located, well appointed and clean. A great place to rest while visiting the area and highly recommended.

Welcome! Our farm studio is set up for individual travelers, couples, small groups of friends or family to enjoy a one or multi-night getaway to the delta! With its private second floor patio entrance, its own small kitchen plus use of a fully equipped industrial common kitchen downstairs, a full bathroom with checkered flooring and a happy green tiled countertop, the studio sleeps up to 5 comfortably. During the cooler months the wood burning stove offers a cozy touch for your stay!
During your stay you are welcome to walk the vineyards, visit the horses, play with our farm dog Carla, check the chicken coop for fresh eggs, relax in the hammock by the fruit trees or on chaise lounges at the white sand beach. You may roll out a yoga mat and breathe through some sun salutations on the yoga deck. And at sunset hour its funs to enjoy a glass of wine in the front yard looking West watching the sun go down. And you are welcome to build a fire at our beach fire pit so long as you stay to see that the fire goes out entirely.
Our part of the Sacramento River delta is charming to say the least! As waterski enthusiasts there is no better stretch of water to be found! Cycling is increasingly popular in our area. And nearby wineries such as The Old Sugar Mill, Bogle and many more make for fun local exploration for wine lovers. Locke, the oldest still standing China town built by the Chinese in the 19th century is a must see spot for photographers, those interested in California's history or those wanting to duck into Al the Wops a local bar unlike any other. For coffee, sandwiches and ice cream Mels Mocha is great. For an Italian family style dinner experience Guisti's is the best!
  • This is, hands down, one of the greatest Airbnb experiences I have ever had! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! The pictures don't do justice to what an amazing, beautiful, and spacious place this is. Leila was super kind, helpful and communicative every step of the way. She met us at the farm and had extra special touches for us, like building a bonfire for us on the private beach, and fresh flowers in our room. The farm studio is a second story space and it was so much bigger than I expected! It has a kitchen, high ceilings, room enough for a family to stay, and a wood stove that we enjoyed using to build a fire. (The room has central heating/AC as well). The bathroom is enormous with a tub/shower and two sinks. Everything was clean and cozy. Also, the grounds are gorgeous!! We enjoyed walking around, taking in the scenery, laying in the hammock, and visiting with the 3 horses that are on the property. It is hard to put into words exactly how lovely and peaceful this place is, but if you are looking for a magical and regenerative place to stay, look no further. We absolutely can't wait to go back!!!

    Christina2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a wonderful weekend away at Leila’s Farm. It was just the retreat we needed from the city. The house and grounds are beautiful!!! We loved all the animals and we even got to pick our own persimmons! We will definitely be back soon.

My boyfriend and I thought that her place and the neighborhood it was in, was so cute and peaceful. We will definitely be looking to see if this place will be available in our future trips up that way for next time. So pleasantly happy with this Airbnb listing and I would give it the highest rating I could.

  • Wonderful place in a very picturesque historical neighborhood. We stayed because it was near the sandhill cranes, and I’m so happy we did! The space is lovely with everything you might need. Restaurants and stores within walking distance. Would very happily stay here again!

  • This place is super cute, clean and comfortable. It worked out perfectly for us when visiting family in Courtland over Thanksgiving. We rented the bird room which has an en suit bathroom and is really nicely decorated with beautiful antiques and linens. Though we really didn’t use it because we were spending most of our time with family there is lots of living room and dining space as well as a working kitchen. There are several bedrooms and think it would be really fun to rent out the whole place with a friends or family.

  • The place was great ! Very spacious and the decor was adorable. Only thing is bad reception throughout the house and WIFI was nonexistent/ spotty. Rebecca was very responsive in this matter when brought up , and I do appreciate her promptness and general concern. I would recommend the place, very nice host that accommodated to an early check in, nice stay, nice communal areas, and overall great deal.

  • The room was bigger than I expected and very comfortable! I'm so picky about beds and pillows and I was very pleased with this place. Becky was kind and super responsive. Thank you so much!

  • Great place and great location. Having never been to Rio Vista I was pleasantly surprised at how cute the town is. Our stay was made all the better by staying in this home. It was clean, inviting and comfortable. The beds are super comfortable and Joy even provided soaps and laundry detergent. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a nice meal and the backyard space was perfect for our kids to play around in. There is even a great park directly across the street that our kids loved. The neighborhood is pretty quiet during the day and very peaceful at night. My family even stayed in one day and enjoyed a movie day together in the very comfortable living room. We will definitely ask to stay again should we ever find ourselves back in Rio Vista.

Our historical downtown features the famous Mei Wah Craft Beer Room, located in the town's old opium den. Walk the streets to visit the small shops and locally owned restaurants-- Pineapples Chinese Restaurant, Regelio's Mexican Restaurant and Peters Steak House. • Great little place near the river. Quiet neighborhood, and easy to get to. We stayed here while visiting family in the area. The cottage is warm, cozy, and had nice amenities, and a comfortable bed. The hosts provided a bottle of wine, loved that! There are just a few small cafes and local restaurants so you will definitely have to travel to find a coffee shop or other shopping. The Keurig was great! Overall, a perfect stay for the holiday weekend.

  • Everything was wonderful. Cute and spacious, clean and cool. I felt comfortable leaving my pup during the day if needed and it was relaxing to come home to just watch a movie in the evening. Perfect little spot.

  • I always enjoy my visits at the Rio Vista Cottage. The fully equipped kitchen and quiet neighborhood for walking make for an excellent stay!

    Michelle2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, beautiful space with a river view. Walkable neighborhood. Super dog friendly. We loved it. One note: During our week’s stay in early August we had a few nights of noise from neighbors in what I assume is a downstairs apartment. They were coming and going between midnight and 4 am loading car and diesel truck, doors closing, engine etc.

    Alexa2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean & well appointed. We stayed 2 nights for a wedding. We brought our dogs & found the high school across the street a good place for walks. It was summer, so no kids were around. We made most our meals in the cottage & used the gas grill with no problem. The bed was used by my mom & she found it comfortable. All kitchen appliances worked. You get a little peak a boo view of the river from the back deck. I would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone needing a place to stay in Rio Vista or surrounding area. Nice place.

  • This is a lovely house that is well supplied and furnished and met the needs of our group perfectly. We are three couples that met for a wedding in Rio Vista. Each couple had their own bedroom and no one had to sleep on a sofa bed in a common area. This is a HUGE benefit for a larger group of mature adults. Originally we had planned to have our dogs with us. Finding a nice place that accepts dogs is very challenging, so this is another terrific benefit of this rental. Sukru was responsive to our needs. We had a problem operating the thermostat and he had the issue resolved in minutes. A nice house with a responsive landlord made for a good stay in Rio Vista and we recommend this property for others who are visiting this area.

  • On October 26, 2019, the Kincaid Fire threatened our Town of Windsor and we were forced to evacuate, from our home. As the evacuations spread further, we had to move two more times. Fortunately, this Airbnb was not only available, but it was pet friendly. After explaining to the owner what we had been going through, he allowed us to enter then home at 1030 rather than the normal 3pm check in time and because the early entry didn’t allow for the cleaning service to come, he waived our cleaning fee. It was a huge relief to pull up to a comfortable place where we could stay with our pets and be safe. This home was well equipped, tidy and pleasant. The owner was flexible and communicated his expectations well. Next time we want to visit Rio Vista we know where to stay. 👍🏼👍🏼

  • What a great spot on the Delta! The views from the deck of the relaxing Georgiana Slough were just what we needed for a long weekend to wrap up the summer. We spent some great quality time with family down the road at nearby B&W Resort, enjoyed breakfast at Korth’s Pirates Lair Marina, dinner at Riverboat II Restaurant and Rogelio’s “Mexi/Chin” - a favorite of ours for more than 30 years now! Make sure you bring swimsuit so you can try out the crazy slide! We didn’t get a chance to and we regret it. It’s really something! Great Blue Herons in the morning, Cranes in the afternoon, and distant vistas of Mt. Diablo - what more could you ask for?! The water was glassy and the breeze through the tules was like a lullaby. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Delta is a short trip for those living in the neighboring cities and a great escape from anywhere. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. It's only a 15 min. drive to world famous Kite Surfing area on Sherman Island, kayaking on the Delta or driving the Delta Loop, extensive wine country, the SF Bay, or state capital : Sacramento. Launch ramp is less than a 1/2 mile away for great fishing and exploration. Good for short term relocation. Extra parking on lot below. A/C in bedrooms.
Located in the old town, lots of restaurants are closely located. The Delta Loop is across the bridge and readily accessible. A great introduction to the Delta
Great quiet neighborhood. Please be courteous with noise. Please park cars (2 max) in the driveway because the street is narrow. Additional parking in the lot behind the house for extra vehicles, RV's, Boats, Toy hauler etc.

It was a beautiful neighborhood and we really enjoyed sitting out front on the porch. We would recommend this house to our close family and friends.

  • Our experience was wonderful. We were in town for a family wedding, and we had a chance to experience Rio Vista as a local. The hosts are very professional and attentive. We can tell they put a lot of effort into making our stay comfortable and beautiful. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms allowed our two young families to have plenty of space for relaxing, playing, cooking, and hosting other family members who were also in town. Everything is very well maintained, all of the appliances are updated, and there is even a washer and dryer. The backyard snd front yard spaces were also enjoyed! It was great to let the kids play outdoors. We would stay again if we are in town in the future.

    Steve2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this place. It was spacious and located remotely (which is exactly what we wanted). Our host was awesome, communicated regularly. My entire family had a great time!

  • Great atmosphere, very comfortable and clean. The place is spacious and cozy and very homey.

    Donna2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was better ten we expected! Had a family reunion(longtime friends) last weekend. We are all from the Bay Area but we've never sent time in Sac so we were a little hesitant about the location. We were looking for a spacious lace, with a pool, and some sort of privacy. We got it all! The house is perfectly situated on a ranch surrounded by animals, and vineyards. The pool was perfect for sac hot weather, and the house was beautiful. If your looking for something off the beaten path to chill and enjoy your guests. Look no further!

The home is a gated, rural 2 story home, 4 bedrooms, a loft, and 2 full baths, 2400 square foot, with an exceptional master suite with vaulted ceiling. A full kitchen fully equipped with a dining room and patio with vintage carrera marble top tables for meals, a traegger BBQ. Nestled in pear orchards, it is great for housing a family or a small group. This home has a beautiful spacious yard that can be rented additionally as a venue for small events with consultation and planning.
You will have access to the whole house, with the exception of the garage. This space works well for entertaining inside and out for groups up to 40. The front and side yards are spacious for additional dining, or a wedding ceremony, with music. Any events or large parties will have to be approved 2 weeks minimum prior to the event date. The fee varies accordingly.
The neighborhood is quiet and comprised of mostly pear, cherry orchards and vineyards, with neighbors being 200 to 500 yards apart. Courtland has a small town with a post office, grocery store, which specializes in their unique old fashioned butcher shop, serves burritos and tacos daily and carries most everyday items. Courtland is the home of the famous "Pear Fair", always the last weekend of July, loads of food, artist vendors, live entertainment, pears for sale, pear pie, and much more. A great family event! Courtland is the home of the "River Docks Marina", 1 mile from the location of this home.

  • Nestled in a beautiful bucolic landscape, Karen's home is clean, quaint and pleasantly quirky with it's whimsical details. Quiet, remote and spacious. Our group of friends wanted a relaxing getaway to catch up, play board games, cook together and explore a part of California we don't really visit. We visited Locke and the Grand Island Vineyards, both very close and unique to experience. We HIGHLY recommend her beautiful home and property. Wonderful host and a wonderful place.

    Daniel2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and relaxing space. Nothing is too much trouble. Karen even dropped off a smoker/bbq for us!

This country home on a San Francisco's Bay-Delta farm, is just 1 1/2 hours from SF. A Farm Stay, it's perfect for retreat from city life. With a swimming pond, beach and bar, riding arena, and yoga deck, the property promises to enchant. Surrounded by organic vegetables and flowers, vineyards and horses you'll have the opportunity to experience life on The Farm. Ours is NOT a party house. It IS perfect for mindful gatherings, team-building weekends, retreats of any kind. Groups 16+ will pay more
Driving up the very long poplar-lined driveway, you'll feel as if you're in the south of France. Then you finally see it... the Farmhouse that's straight out of the French countryside. *Events of up to 300 can be scheduled for additional fee. THE GROUNDS: The northeast grounds (the near side of main photo) consists of: a 500 sq ft patio, and 15,000 sq feet of Kentucky Bluegrass lawns. With festive night time strings of lights, a fire, it's perfect for cocktail hour, dinner, and even dancing. Or...meetings of course. Weddings are magnificent on the Bluegrass. Outdoor farm table dining, on the lawns or patio, is magical perfection. And lawn games are a favorite of many who bring them; we have a regulation volleyball net. Many trees, including two 300 year old Valley Oaks completes the graceful space to make your Farm Stay memorable. The southwest grounds consist of: 2 acres of fescue lawns, a 1/2 acre swimming pond with island, a 1,200 sq ft white-sand beach, and exotic hardwood yoga deck over hanging the water. DINING: is outdoors, on the patio/lawn, one long table under a string of lights (can seat up to 40), an easy reach from the kitchen for dinner. Many love The Beach for lunch or brunch (there's no electricity, just solar and a roaring fire at night time). There is a dining table that seats just six in the Kitchen/Gathering Room. THE BEACH: white sand, complete with palm tree and redwood bar, you KNOW you're indeed "getting away", especially when you hear the breeze rustle in the palm leaves! The Beach has a medium size gas grill, redwood bar, two large round tables, with chairs for 12, four "Butterfly Chairs" for relaxing, and three lounge chairs...for same. And still...there's LOTS of space for soaking in the sun on your beach towels! POND: it's a perfect temperature, clean water (not chlorine-clean like a pool), natural mud bottom, sometimes with frogs, tadpoles or an occasional Egret. Laps around the island are the BEST exercise, or bring tubes or mattresses for just lounging. HANGING OUT/MEETINGS: There are many spaces on the property. The patio has seating for 16. The beach same. "The Gathering Room" attached to the farm kitchen has two couches, chair, table for six. There are acres of lawn of course, both in sun and shade, where folding chairs can be set up (we have about 40). And the yoga deck, covered with roll down shades to protect from the sun, also provides a nice spot to meet. KITCHEN: The kitchen is a funky commercial style kitchen (*our private kitchen with fine china, glassware, silver is available for use with a larger security deposit) with many wood cabinets, a six-burner antique gas stove with two ovens, a three sink stainless steel set-up (no dishwasher), and a medium size, vertical refrigerator/freezer (bring ice, no ice-maker), additional fridge directly above, up stairs. *Be sure to check under "Amenities" for what we have/don't have. *Do have: toaster, blender, food-processor, two coffee makers (one normal size and one 55-cup), huge rice-cooker, electric hand mixer, "S'mores" skewers (so fun!), fun/colorful plastic plates, glass coffee mugs, water glasses, wine glasses, stainless steel ware...for 30. Olive oil, spices, salt, pepper, and sugar. *We ask the guests before leaving to empty the refrigerator leaving no food behind and to take their garbage, recycling and compost out to the appropriate bins close by. GATHERING ROOM: attached to kitchen, with two couches, chair, table for six, it's nice for some indoor lounging (no wet bathing suits thank you). With the Kitchen attached it makes for the perfect social place indoors. Note: CONCERT HALL/GRAND ROOM - The Old World European Grand Room/now converted to Concert Hall is no longer a "living room" - it has no furniture as it is predominately used as a practice space and concert hall. * Please note: the entire indoors is elegant with fine furniture so you and your over-night group must understand this and use it with care. This property is best suited for those who want to be outdoors most of the time including for all meals. *Please note, there is another kitchen/dining table, attached to the Concert Hall/Grand Room which we sometimes allow rental groups to use upon request and with a larger security deposit. BEDROOMS: three are private ("Bedrooms 1, 2 and 3"), beautifully furnished with queens and a king (king can be set up as two twins instead, just let us know), no sets of drawers, antique book cases for shelves instead. Closets. Bedroom 4 is a very large and very beautiful room with two antique writing desks, a double and three twins, perfect for a family, or group of friends. Bedroom 5 consists of a queen, a narrow twin, and two narrow bunk beds, again perfect for a family or group of friends. Attached (curtained off) is a sitting room with a couch, counter and sink, and six bunk beds ("common space"). **"The Haybarn" (not in house!) is a favorite - see photo. And for one who needs their privacy, a narrow antique bed in The Featherlite. BATHROOMS: there are four, one on first floor for easy outdoor use. An all marble bathroom is attached to the master bedroom, with an 8' long marble two-person tub with two shower heads, a two-sink marble counter, and a private water closet (toilet). It's gorgeous and can be private, or, shared with Bedrooms 2 and 3. A second nearby bathroom also has two sinks, bathtub/shower and private toilet, and is for Bedroom 4, or can be shared with 2 and 3. "The Dormitory" has a small bathroom with two sinks, a tiny shower stall, and private toilet. We provide bar soap and hand soap and bath towels. Guests must bring shampoo/conditioner. HOUSE RULES: Be sure to read them all BEFORE requesting to book, thank you (saves us both a lot of time writing back and forth, and possible heartache if damage occurs). Upon booking, Airbnb will require that you agree you have read all rules and will abide by them - your Security Deposit rests on it! Some have made the mistake of bypassing this essential step and it's been costly for them. Us too! No Host wants to have to make a claim on a Guest's Deposit. **THE MAP on this site is not marked correctly with the property, so looking for it will not prove successful. It cannot be changed by Airbnb for some reason, we're sorry about that (maybe it's to protect our privacy given that we're the only thing out here!
The estate is on 100 acres on Grand Island, with 80 acres planted with wine grapes. Surrounding properties are fields and orchards, with country roads encircling many of the Delta's nearly 50 islands. World class kitesurfing spot Sherman Island is just 22 miles down river. Upon request groups can book a boating trip out on the Sacramento River, with access to waterski, wakeboard and ski tube! For those interested in wine tasting, visit Bogle Vineyards, Old Sugar Mill, or any of the wineries near Lodi ( a 20 minute drive) such as Oak Farm Vineyards and Michael David. On The Farm, the night time star-filled sky is awe-inspiring. With two free standing fire pits and plenty of firewood, night time is just as great as sunny daytime.
  • The pictures don’t really do justice to what a beautiful property this is. My 18 friends and I (aged 25-35) were looking for a place with beautiful weather where we could relax and feel our toes in the grass (&sand!) all weekend. The universal review from each of those 18 friends was “wow” - the house with the little beach, pond and yoga pavilion are a slice of paradise and absolutely charming. We would all very happily come again if Leila and Robyn will have us! We are sad not to have been able to take up the offer of wakeboarding and tubing this time around, but next time we shall! I would note that this is a family home which has had a great amount of care and thought invested, so it is not a location for a messy indoor party if that is what you are planning. The description made this clear to me and as predicted we spent 90% of our time outside. We were extremely happy with our stay :) Thank you again to the hosts

  • The farmhouse is idyllic and absolutely gorgeous. The lake was refreshing and clean, the grounds were wonderful to frolic and dance around in, stargaze at night, and laze during the day. We had an incredible time exploring and enjoying everything the place had to offer! Even the sunsets over the fields of fruits and veggies were amazing!

    Kate2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We hosted our annual team building event here. The house is very big with sleeping arrangements for 16+ people. Many fun things to do, including bon-fire and pond.

    Hannan2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Leila was an absolute pleasure to work with before and after booking the house, was super responsive, pleasant and accommodating with every question and request! The location itself is perfect as well - fully equipped to host a big group and offers lots of space to hold a verity of outdoor activities right there on the property. We had a wonderful time at the pond, played lots of ballgames, held workshops and had all our delicious meals prepared at the location. 17 people left the farm after 3 days with nothing but great memories and compliments. We had so much fun, I truly recommend!!!

    Morán2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Leila and Robyn's property is stunning. The outdoor areas provided a wonderful place for a larger group to spend quality time over the holiday weekend - the pond, volleyball court, and outdoor table/firepit we're enjoyed by all. Robyn's home had some bug spray, condiments, bathtowels, etc. which was very helpful for a larger group. When an issue arose mid-trip, Robyn was very quickly responsive and solved a minor issue within the hour. She was friendly and helpful. The description of the house is very accurate - read the full description to get the understanding of the house set up, including the fact that the grandroom is required to walk through in order to get to some bedrooms. It is clear Robyn cares about her home so this is a house for respectful guests, and it shows in how well kept the house is. I would stay at this property or another of Robyns homes again.

  • This place is absolutely gorgeous. We had my birthday party here for the weekend with 40 people and it was the venue. We were able to fit guests in the house and others camped on the lawn. The place was absolutely magical - the swimming pond, yoga platform, magnificent driveway, fire pit, beach and dining under the stars were some of our highlights. We were able to play music late into the night with no noise curfew. It's important to keep in mind the following: if you are organized, meticulous, good at reading directions and following rules, this place is wonderful for large groups and events. However, if you don't care for rules or have a large number of guests that you can't control, this may not be the best venue for you. This is also the ideal venue if you plan on spending the vast majority of time your enjoying all the wonderful things the house offers outside. However, if you're planning on staying indoors most of the time with a large group, the house is just not well suited for it. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back. Robyn was easy to communicate and work with. The house had a lot more infrastructure than I expected in terms of outdoor chairs, tables, kitchen equipment, yoga equipment, which was very helpful. Definitely, a hidden gem in this region!

    Rene2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking to get away, this is the place to do it. Couldn't have booked a better venue. Absolutely stunning, invorating, and inspiring. Thanks, Robyn & Leila!

  • Rebecca was extremely responsive - very quick and thorough in answering my questions. The house is charming and nicely decorated, and the kitchen, common area and separate bathroom are all spacious and comfortable. The location, on a residential street in the quaint, tiny town of Walnut Grove, is in the historic district, with a little park and coffee house just steps away.

  • This place was perfect! Reminded us of backpacking in Europe. Rebecca was there to greet us when we arrived and was so helpful! We were there for a wedding so she wrote down a list of taxi drivers that frequent the area since Lyft is far and few between. We were running late, so she took the time to drop us off! This place is also in a great location! There aren't many options for eating in this small town, but this place is walking distance to a cafe, pizza, mexican, ice cream shop and even a bar! We'll definitely stay here again!

  • This was my first stay in Walnut Grove. It's a charming place and the Bartlett captures the historical charm. Rebecca was very communicative and made it easy for me to check in. I appreciated the full kitchen that was available for use.

  • We chose the Bartlett Inn because we enjoy the charm of B&B's and we were not disappointed. We loved that the inn was fully restored with new amenities and decorated nicely with the essence of the building's history. Our stay was comfortable and Rebecca was very sweet and accommodating. She provided us with information about the town and places to go. We were visiting Walnut Grove for genealogy research, so staying at a B&B that is part of the history of the town was perfect.
