  • Beautiful house with fantastic facilities. My family stayed at the property for a celebration and everybody had a wonderful time. We had children with ages ranging from 6 to 14 years, and also had a couple of young lads aged 20 and 22, but this property made it simple to keep everyone happy. A well equipped kitchen and excellent dinning area enabled us to hire a private chef that came to the house to cook an evening meal rather than eating out. Surround sound in the lounge, fabulous and very secluded jacuzzi and sauna and lots of seating made the evenings relaxing and fun. Bedrooms were very comfortable and plenty of bed options with enough bathrooms to feel private. We also used the Spring Barn which was equally well equipped and added a great extra hideaway for the those of us that needed an escape occasionally! Gill was a fabulous host and I couldn't recommend the property enough.

  • Absolutely superb space for large groups. Gill is a very friendly host and everything in the house was as expected. There was lots of helpful information in the house about things to do and see. Particularly enjoyed the local pub, the halfway - definitely worth a visit. Thanks again!

Enough space for everyone. Gill was a wonderful communicator and provided a lovely cake. We managed to use the croquet lawn despite the weather. Wonderful.

  • A lovely place to stay with comfy beds and comfy sofas. Kevin and Dave were friendly and welcoming and Kevin was fast to reply to any communications. Kevin was helpful when it came to advice on what to do locally and brought us some lovely bacon when he visited a farmers market. Thumbs up. The hot tub was an added bonus and was lovely to soak in of an evening. It takes a bit of commitment to keep stoked and get hot, but it was completely worth it. (It's not a bubbling one)

    Craig2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Its definitely worth it

  • We had a wonderful stay with our family here. One of the cleanest and most spacious air b&bs we have stayed in. A log heated hot tub is a real luxury especially on a winters evening with a glass (or bottle) of wine and Kevin couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. Lots of space for our little ones to run around and I imagine it would be even more special in the summer. We went to a pub in Langport and Somerton, both were great and we would thoroughly recommend and hopefully will stay again!

    Jon2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a wonderful time here. The space is perfect, lovely comfortable bed, great shower and the open plan living room is great. The wood burner is a lovely addition and we used this a lot during our stay as it was very chilly outside! It really heats up the room quickly. The location is great also, lots of lovely surrounding fields and close enough to local amenities. The best part of our stay was star gazing in the hot tub, this really was magical! We hope to return again soon!

    Emma2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Kevin for a lovely stay off grid! The hot tub is huge and so lovely to be able to sit out and look at the stars

    Kerrie2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay. The chalet was great, nice and spacious and a good space for our two toddlers to run around. We also made use of the wood fired hot tub which was brill!

  • Absolutely amazing, highly recommend, great host, great location, the hot tub is terrific, already booked to go back (yay)

  • We rented both barns for a belated Christmas get together. It was really important to us that the accommodation would suit three generations and it did ! We were met on arrival by Gill and immediately made to feel completely at home. The barns are both very well appointed with everything you could possibly need, in fact my husband managed to cook a delicious Sunday lunch for 10 ... no mean feat in an unfamiliar kitchen. The sauna and hot tub were a wonderful addition as were all the games, particularly Jenna which caused much hilarity! Thank you Gill for such a wonderful stay, we would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend the property to anyone wanting a thoughtfully presented, versatile place to stay.

    Polly2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gill is a super host. I ran a wellness retreat at the Threshing and Apple barns on the weekend and couldn't of asked for a better space or host. We had everything we needed. Complete ease of service and very comfy. Would book again. X

  • Booking with Gill was great from start to finish. Quick responses to all our queries and offered great advice about the local area. When we arrived the barn was decorated for Xmas and there was a home made cake waiting for us. Would highly recommend staying at the Threshing/Apple barn.

  • Thank you Gill for having me and my family over the weekend; i could not have asked for a better place to stay, it was absolutely perfect for the one year old right to my grandparents! It was so lovely to be in such a open planned home where all the family could be together at once and still feel that you had space! The spa was amazing and we all left feeling so refreshed. The place was perfectly clean and everything was there that we possibly could have thought of! This place has made us have such special memories and we could not have done that without you and the effort you put into our stay. We had every single bit of information about the place prior to arriving, and lots of information was provided to us about local places to visit and takeaways ect. The location was perfect and was so nice to get away to a quiet area with beautiful views . The beds were super comfy and showers were immaculately clean! My grandma was over the moon with the beautiful cake you provided for us too on arrival!! There is not one thing I would have asked to be different! It was simply perfect and beautiful. Thank you so much to you and your partner for helping us create more amazing family memories! We would love to come back in the future. P.s “spice gallery somerton” .. best Indian takeaway I have ever had!!! 5 star food hygiene great service and beautifully tasting food!

The women loved spending time in the spa whilst the men played pool. We also took a trip out to Harry’s cider tasting which was brilliant and well worth the money. We had a beautiful xmas basket filled with local produce, a quirky xmas tree an a very warm welcome on arrival. The space is fabulous for large groups, the beds are super comfy and the spa is out of this world, we spent alot of time in it, relaxing and having fun. • We have recently stayed in a number of big houses, and this has been the best booking by far. The property looks exactly like the photos, however, what the photos can not really show is the combination of openness and togetherness, alongside having private space. This house works really well the table seats 16 people and everyone can hang out together, in the kitchen and or in the lounge. However, there is still enough space for you to be able to get away from each other as well. The rooms had flexibility regarding doubles or twins and everyone's bed was super comfortable. The spa facilities were delightful and made the house feel extra special. The setting was very tranquil and we felt well cared for without any intrusion. Thank you for the perfect stay, we feel lucky to have stayed here and hope we get the opportunity to stay again.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Pennys stunning, quirky home. There is so much to see and enjoy, both inside and out. Very personal, extremely creative and full of warmth. Penny and Sian were welcoming and responsive. Couldn't ask for more. We loved it.

  • We all fell in love with the house and location during our recent stay at wick farm. The house has such a welcoming feel with its gorgeous open fire, a big, warm sociable kitchen and stunning views of the garden and surrounding fields. Penny and her team were the perfect hosts who were always on hand if we had any questions. Will definitely return!!

  • Wick Farm is the most wonderful quirky interesting place to stay where around every corner and in every nook and cranny there are the most amazing things to see. A perfect place to spend my 50th Birthday with dear friends and family. All of us there felt as if we were in a family home rather than an Airbnb. Set in sumptuous grounds we couldn’t wish for a more perfect place and intend to return. The manager Sian was so lovely and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us.

  • Really lovely space with lots of interesting gardens to explore. Beds were super comfy and a great space to spend time with old friends. Responsive and helpful hosts. Thanks so much! Would love to stay again in the summer and make use of the pool as well!

  • This is the second time we have stayed at Penny’s place, and it was as charming and radiant as the first time.

    Paul2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is quite possibly the most beautiful Airbnb home I have ever stayed in. But it was also super relaxing and we didn’t feel like we had to worry about the dog bringing the outside in! Penny is an excellent laidback host who has thought of everything to ensure her guests have the very best experience. We want to come back!!

The cottage boasts a large and beautiful en suite bedroom where there is also a small childs bed and a travel cot if needed. Underfloor heating throughout with silk carpets in the bedrooms, a beautiful Neptune kitchen with large range oven, American fridge freezer, microwave, Nespresso Machine and Nutri Bullet! Stable Cottage stands alone opposite the main family manor house in the grounds of Midelney Place. You will enjoy being away from the husslele and bustle of daily life with only the noise of the horses to listen to. The village of Curry Rivel has a lovely Pub and Coffee Shop within walking distance but we especially recommend the Devonshire Arms 10 mins down the road. We are a 15 min drive from the M5 and A303 so a great stop off point en route to Cornwall. There are many wedding venues nearby and we enjoy hosting wedding couples on their mini moons or wedding guests who are attending local weddings. We can tailor make customers stay to make a visit extra special whether it’s an anniversary or special birthday celebration. We are happy to provide extra touches to the cottage for special occasions. Champagne on arrival, fresh flowers, home made cake etc. We happily make dinner bookings and offer a taxi service as and when we can? We are always happy to help as much as possible to make your stay extra special?
Located in the heart of the beautiful Somerset levels, we are surrounded by historic Somerset villages, Curry Rivel, Muchelney, Drayton and Langport. We are 20 minutes from Millfield and Taunton Schools, the well known shopping village of Street and Glastonbury Tor is definitely worth a visit. There are national trust homes to visit as well as Cidar farms, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. Beautiful walks and cycle rides along the river of Langport where you can stop for lunch at the cafe on the river. There is a village stores just yards away and a small Tesco’s, award winning bakers and butchers in LAngport 1 mile away where, on a Friday morning, is the village market and fish van who brings fresh fish straight up from the south coast. All in all there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area.
  • We had such a lovely stay! It is the most beautiful location and stunning interior of the stable block. The highlight was seeing 6 deer hopping through the grounds from the window! Jenni provided lovely little touches in the fridge and all the kit for our 1 year old which was of huge help. Everything was immaculate and in perfect working condition - the comfiest bed ever and the most luxurious bath, only wish we could have stayed for longer! Thank you.

  • Great little stay. We booked for a last minute night away with the dog and Gill was very fast to respond and was very friendly. the flat was a quaint small place perfect for a couple for a short stay. The only thing to note was that the local field wasn't dog friendly so worth bearing in mind if your a dog owner. Otherwise great value for money, would recommend!!

  • Gill's place is lovely and warm. The bed was so comfortable. The hosts were really nice and they made sure i was ok and that everything in the room was ok. I would highly recommend this place especially if you want the privacy of your own space. I would return again if I'm ever in the area again. Thanks Gill for your hospitality.

The Orchard Room is attached to our home (At Last) and is a large studio room with comfortable settee, TV, workstation and king size bed. There is an en-suite shower room and small kitchen diner. With your own front door and parking space, and use of an area of our large garden, we think the space is perfect for couples, lone travellers or business people. Compton Dundon is a small village, well placed to explore the beautiful Somerset levels, with Wells, Glastonbury and Street all close by.
The Orchard Room is a relaxing place to stay, where you will be made to feel at home with a welcome box of breakfast provisions, helpful hosts and all the essential comforts, giving you a five star service experience. You can park outside, let yourself into your own front door and put your feet up ... we want you to enjoy your stay and come back one day! The basic kitchen is equipped to enable you to put something on the hob, in the toaster or slow cooker, or rustle up something cold from the fridge. You will find shampoo, hand wash and shower gel in the bathroom, and we are on hand if you need anything. We even consider your work needs, with ample plug points and USB ports accessible to you on a spacious desk. A large area of the garden is yours to enjoy.
Compton Dundon is a rural village, but well placed for local attractions like Wells, Glastonbury and Street, all of which are 10-20 minutes away. You will sleep well, although the birds are often chirping their dawn chorus before we wake. You may hear the odd tractor or horserider go past. The delights of Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Bruton, Bristol and Bath await. There are walks from the doorstep. We can give you our take on the best pubs, bars and restaurants which, in our experience, will enhance your stay and really make your visit a memorable one.

There is plenty of room to relax; an extremely comfortable king-size bed is provided and there is a huge sofa to lounge on. I was warm and comfy; this is a real home from home. It was totally private. I was able to make myself some light refreshments the charming kitchenette. The garden is absolutely lovely and there is plenty of parking space. Sharon and Brian are generous and thoughtful hosts and I can’t wait to make a return visit. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough. Stunning accommodation in a beautiful rural setting.

Light, spacious home, well equipped with essentials. Located in historic town within walking distance of numerous pubs, cafés and local amenities, including Craft House Chocolate shop. Nearby bus stop servicing local towns. Easy access to beautiful countryside and numerous public footpaths. National Trust properties (Montacute House, Barrington Court, Stour Head and Lytes Cary) nearby. The beautiful Dorset Jurassic Coast is located an hour's drive away. French spoken and understanding of Spanish.
The water supply to the property is charged on a metred basis. I would ask that all guests help to protect the environment and are careful to minimize water usage when taking showers and for this reason, baths are not included.
In general, Somerton is a friendly town and welcomes visitors. I feel very lucky to live here and enjoy the access to beautiful countryside on my doorstep.

The 'Hut' at The Halfway House The iconic Halfway House pub, has its own self-catering accommodation within the pub garden. Which is renowned for its real ales and good hearty food. The 'Hut' is the perfect accommodation for a short break. The room offers its own access, kitchen, Kingsize bed, crisp white linen, en-suite bathroom, TV and complimentary breakfast refreshments. You can enjoy dining with us in The Halfway House next door, sample a few real ales and retire to your own ‘Hut’.
The Halfway House is an authentic rustic pub with a slate floor worn smooth by the tread of generations of drinkers, a faint scent of wood smoke from the fireplaces and the delicious scent of home cooking coming from the kitchen. Enjoy sitting out in the fenced garden on a sunnier day, which has tables and benches to relax and enjoy. The pub offers a great selection of beers, ales and ciders drawn straight from the barrel and a menu of real homemade hearty food. With a devoted following from both the village and further a field, the friendly atmosphere is filled with chatter and laughter especially at the regular events. You’ll also hear the sound of the occasional dog snoring in the corner, without a blaring jukebox or TV.
We are in the heart of Somerset just off the A303 from London to Exeter. There are plenty of place to visit locally from Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar Caves, Bruton.
  • We arrived quite late of a Saturday eve but it wasn’t a problem. We were shown around and how everything worked etc. The Hut was spotlessly clean. • We really enjoyed our stay in the Summer House, it was lovely and cosy and had everything we needed for a weekend away. Cheryl was an excellent host and made checking in very easy. We walked to the local pub for a drink and it was very friendly, with a lovely big fireplace. Great location for exploring some stunning countryside.

  • Ideal country accommodation, excellently presented, perfectly equipped, near to all amenities and run by a wonderful person. From the moment of booking everything was taken care of; Cheryl was thoughtful enough to provide a photo of the turning into the lane through which the premises are located. I arrived before dark to ensure that I would find it without a hitch although in hindsight it is easy to find. Upon arrival I was greeted by Cheryl in the more than ample parking area and shown to the accommodation - a large, well insulated summerhouse situated to the rear of the house in the paddock. I was shown around and familiarised with the layout and facilities. I was then left to my own devices although I enjoyed several conversations with Cheryl as and when our paths crossed (I was staying for work so out early and returning in the evening). The accommodation is excellent; more than spacious enough for a couple, excellently equipped and very characterful - A home from home. Although only just off the main road it feels as though you are located in a more remote setting - very peaceful and quiet. Cheryl was kind enough to provide all the essentials for breakfast and this was the icing on the cake for me. I would like to return later in the year to enjoy the peace and see the garden/ paddock in bloom. There is really no scope for improvement. Highly recommended and superb value for money.

Already looking forward to another stay later on in the year. Thanks again Cheryl!

  • The accommodation is perfect if you want to switch off a bit. Quiet location and the house is nicely decorated you feel right at home. Cherly is a great host. She is loving and accommodating and always has time for a conversation and wishes. We were there in winter and like to visit again in summer when you can sit in the beautiful garden. For a cozy stay but also for traveling around a perfect little house.

The old cider press of a 1750’s Georgian village house. The newly decorated stone attached barn, is quirky and comfortable. Featuring premium quality fittings. A small, secluded courtyard allows the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or an al fresco meal. Set in the lovely village of Pitney, right in the middle of the beautiful Somerset Levels, the accommodation lends itself to experiencing the many special places of interest in this historical and magical area. Yoga classes on site...
I hope to make your stay as lovely as possible. With quality fittings including a DeVol kitchen, Everhot Stove, Fired Earth tiling, Sofa.com beds, Sanderson fabrics... i wish for you to experience a comfortable and memorable stay, experiencing all this fantastic area has to offer. In easy walking distance, Pitney, has its renowned village pub, the Halfway House and also Pitney Organic Farm shop and cafe, plus a playing field with new fitness course opposite the house. The house and gardens are undergoing a bit of a ‘re-design’ with the garden being very much geared towards wildlife conservation. I have bats, dragonflies as well as lots of butterflies and moths. Often during the winter from the end of October to the start of March, you can see flocks of starlings heading over to Ham Wall where they can be seen doing their famous murmurations. A must see! We are close to Millfield school so great for stopovers. Extra bed space available if needed. So sorry but unsuitable for anyone where steps would be an issue due to nature of old building.
Pitney has a super, renowned pub and an organic farm shop with cafe all in easy walking distance. This makes a good stop for breakfast or coffee and cake. There is a beautiful, historical church in the village and one also in Low Ham called ‘The Church in the Field’ - a remnant from an old Manor House no longer standing. A Roman villa was found near this site between the two villages as filmed by Time Team. Another Roman Villa was also found towards Somerton, which is a beautiful, historical village; the ancient capital of Wessex. Langport is close by with very good cafes, ‘The Wharf’ in particular, is worth a visit. The river Parrett is rather special where you can get boat rides or hire canoes. There is a cycle trail (with bike hire) in Langport, heading towards Mulchelney. Here, are the famous John Leach pottery and the Muchelney Abbey remains. Head the other way towards Glastonbury and Street, about 20 minutes by car and you have all that they have to offer, including Clark’s Village Designer shopping outlet. National Trust places abound, with notable Montacute House, Barrington Court and Lytes Cary to name a few. Further afield is Bruton with the famous Hauser and Wirth gallery and ‘The Chapel’ a restaurant/cafe where you are likely to see a famous face or two... This mid Somerset area is known for its many festivals. There is always something going on. Being here in the middle of the Somerset means everything is readily accessible. Having come from Sussex, i have found the area to have a slower pace of life, where people have more time to stop for friendly chats. Millfield senior school is 20 minutes away, max, whilst the prep school is less than 30 minutes drive. Rookery Press is a handy stopover if you are visiting your child or children during their time boarding.
  • The Rookery Press is a beautiful peaceful little retreat, which has been decorated with great care and love. Clean, well kept and with some lovely thoughtful touches. The property is in a great location to relax, recharge and explore Somerset. Madeleine was a great host, friendly, attentive, offering suggestions of where to visit but at the same time she wasn't over bearing. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property.

Conversion of stone built outbuilding, finished to a very high standard with oak flooring, underfloor heating, woodburning stove. Spacious characterful accommodation for a couple, with a chairbed and a single folding mattress to accommodate two more people in the sitting room. Breakfast pack of local produce provided for the first morning (including eggs from our own free range chickens and honey from our bees). A good base for a self catering holiday in Somerset.
The building is converted from a former cow byre and cart barn to form a spacious self contained guest house. We have several acres of gardens and fields, with views across the Somerset Levels to Glastonbury Tor.
We are in a small hamlet, about 5 minutes drive from Langport, which has a good selection of shops. This is a beautiful part of Somerset, with varied wildlife, lovely old market towns and several National Trust properties to visit within a short drive. We provide an information pack for guests, with recommendations of places to visit.
  • What a wonderful place. It’s in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to lots of places providing you have a car. Brilliant set up, really cosy and fantastic internet. We would definitely recommend it.

    Catherine2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn’s place is the perfect little place to escape from the world. It is quiet and peaceful and the log fire and underfloor heating made it incredibly cosy. Carolyn gave helpful directions for how to find her, and the bread and eggs in the morning were a lovely touch.

    Jeni2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • It's a proper gem this one. A little tricky to find on the back roads in the dark, but the directions sent were clear and accurate. Well worth the effort for a very comfortable stay in a stylish barn conversion.

    Thomas2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This home is amazing, after a trip to Cornwall, we stopped off to extend our holiday and to rest before a long drive for my son. It had everything we needed and more. Special touches , make this home very inviting. I wish we could have stayed longer. Underfloor heating makes it very comfortable in colder weather. The bathroom facilities are brilliant with a large bath and walk in shower. Quality towels are a bonus. My son, whi is a chef, found the cooking equipment easy to use and lots of expense here on top.of the range Neff oven, and hob. The items left by Carolyn to cook breakfast are great, and come in handy without going to buy to extra expense. There is nothing negative we could say about this home, except my son did at first miss a TV. However, this gave real time to relax Would love to rerun and stay longer. We highly recommend it.

    Elaine2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really stylish and sparkling clean bnb. Lovely comfortable bed and beautiful log fire and kitchen. Large bathroom and spacious space. Bumpy windy roads to find it but other than that would stay again.

    Francesca2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Carolyn’s for a quick stopover en route to north Devon and discovered the most beautiful barn conversion in rural Somerset. Very stylish & comfortable, set down a quiet country road. It was very cosy with underfloor heating in the bathroom (also has a wood burner but we didn’t use it). Lots of thoughtful touches. There are several nice pubs in the area and we enjoyed a meal out at the Lime Kiln Inn. Definitely would return or recommend.

  • A beautiful little gem of a place. Very well presented and sparkling clean. The hosts were wonderful and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay, even breakfast which we didn't expect. Having the log burner on in the evening made it a perfect and magical stay.

Beautiful light little shepherds hut. Such a colour-fest! Cosy and bright. Very secluded. Tucked away by a tranquil pond surrounded by green fields. There is a little wood burning stove, a fold out floor mattress and an outside swinging seat by a pond. We have a shower and toilet available but access requires a walk across the field. There is power (to charge your phones etc) by the showers and a lockable space if you have bikes We don’t provide bedding or towels so please bring your own : )
You’ll have the pure seclusion of the hut and fields and the woods to explore and wander around. There is also a lovely garden to explore, meditation garden to enjoy and bathroom facilities you’ll have access to.
Zen out in this magical place. It’s quirky colourful nature fest. Great place to really connect with the beautiful surroundings.
  • The Shepherd Hut is a unique place to stay. We had an amazing time. If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet spot, this is the place to go. Penny’s thoughtful touches making it truly magical.

    Anna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and peaceful with plenty of room to roam around. We took our dog and she loved how much space there was to explore! Would come back again for sure but next time would bring our own camp chairs as our backs hurt after a few hours of sitting round by the fire on the seating provided (Thats just us being old though!) Penny did mention before hand to bring extra padding for the bed as it can be uncomfy, next time i will definitely bring more or an air bed (again my own fault!) Lovely to wake up in the morning and have a cup of tea by the fire and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

    Milly2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A magical little space!... We only stayed one night, but the location was idyllic and the shepherds hut quirky and comfortable.... We will definitely be back again...

  • I greatly enjoyed staying here. A beautiful location, nice wildlife around the pond, good views to be had, decent value for money, good communication from the owners. All in all 10 out of 10.

    Jamie2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had very relaxing stay away from busy city life! Enjoyed walking in the woods, cooking on fire and looking at the stars at night. We loved fresh flowers on the tables which made us feel welcomed. Our pup enjoyed running in the long grass fields! Will definitely be back!

    Irina2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The 'Wick Hut' was the perfect place to spend some time away from home. It was almost impossible to not feel relaxed when being sat on the bench looking over the water. The check-in directions made it very easy to find even in such a rural area. I didn't even stay for a whole night and felt it was value for money just to spend an evening there. Complete relaxation. HIGHLY recommend to everyone.

    Reece2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was pure heaven. We loved it so much we added an extra night... our mind were made up within minutes of arriving. Gorgeous little haven with everything you need to relax and recharge. We took our own mattress and bedding (as recommended) and some extra bits for cooking and eating. I really cannot fault the space, the log burner made for lovely cosy evenings and the firepit is perfectly set up for cooking. We spent a glorious sunny day on the swing watching the dragonflies and surrounded by beauty. We will most definitely be back.

  • We couldn't have chosen a cosier, cleaner or better-equipped place to stay for a week! Fiona even baked us a cake as part of a welcome hamper, which was much appreciated. Probably the largest and most comfortable bed ever into the bargain. Travelling with a young spaniel, this was the ideal place to stay, with small, privateand enclosed outside spaces; she also enjoyed the dog biscuits left for her! This was a truly dog friendly stay.

    Myra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing property. Hosted by some truly lovely people. My wife and I stayed here with our toddler for two nights as we were making our way down from London to Cornwall. Fiona and Gary are brilliant hosts. Very friendly. And also with good recommendations. Including a fun lunch at a local pub. Special mention for all the small touches around the place that can make all the difference. Like bread and milk to welcome us, and even homemade cakes, plus a children's book, high chair and travel cot for our son. The place itself is super clean, very well appointed, and has been done really well. Very impressed. We had a great time! Highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings and countryside too. We'd absolutely stay again. And give this top marks across the board!

    Adrian2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Woodpecker Lodge was brilliant. Fiona & Gary couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the lodge was clean and very comfortable. Little touches like a welcome hamper in the lodge were lovely thoughtful perks, and both Fiona and Gary went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and in the know about local amenities, walks and. places to visit. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Absolutely beautiful lodge, so cosy and homely. We stay at woodpecker lodge for 4 nights over the new year break, went on lovely walks and had a lovely meal at a local pub. Fiona and Gary were great hosts, leaving little finishing touches to the place like a hamper of bread, milk, biscuits and even biscuits for our dog Woody. Definitely will be staying here again

  • Another wonderful stay at Woodpecker Lodge, highly recommended, looking forward to staying again next year!

  • Most beautiful Airbnb in Somerset, I’ve no doubt. Fiona is a sincere and generous host who is, as we say in Australia: FAIR DINKUM. A home away from home with every consideration implemented into this sweet and ever so comfortable retreat. A thousand stars.

  • Woodpecker Lodge is in a great location for exploring the Somerset Levels and villages and towns in the vicinity. Very quiet and peaceful location. Fiona was a great host and I really enjoyed staying here, it had everything and more I needed, great WiFi as I was on a work trip. Thank you!

    Tessa2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to go to relax and get away from things. The lodge is in a quiet, rural setting and was very comfortable to stay in. Everything is new and exceptionally clean, with tasteful decor and a homey feel to it. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, with cooking basics provided such as tea/coffee, bread, milk, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc. Excellent value for money. Fiona and Gary were also so welcoming and helpful. The communication was excellent - very informative and responsive. I have no complaints at all and hope to stay again in the future!

  • This is a little oasis in the centre of Langport with lovely river walks nearby. The cottage was all that you would want for a relaxing stay. (The bed was VERY comfortable). The shared courtyard was a lovely space with a fishpond and the sound of the fountain was soothing. Emma and Steve were always on hand if help was needed with anything and their children and dog were a delight. Our dog, Alfie, loved it! We'd certainly stay there again

  • Smith Cottages is a little haven tucked away but very easy to find with the directions provided by Julie. Number 5 is clean, compact, but perfectly formed, and had everything I needed for my short break away visiting family, along with my dog Yogi. The peace and quiet was bliss compared to our noisy city life! The garden is a lovely bonus. Great walks start by the river behind the property. We got to meet and chat with Emma, Steve and their children (who live onsite and help run the cottages) which made the place even more welcoming.

The cottage is beautifully decorated, and has everything you need. This is an excellent property with a lovely host - we will definitely be staying again when we go to visit our UK family.

  • Absolutely beautiful, spotless cottage, so comfortable and warm. Morag deserves her title of Superhost as she really goes above and beyond to welcome her guests, she kindly left us lots of goodies, which were most unexpected. The cottage is perfect, great location not far from many local beauty spots. We enjoyed every moment of our stay, and would love to go back to Morag's. As for value, it's just amazing, and if I could give Morag 10 stars for everything I certainlywould. Thankyou for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!

  • Great place!

  • A very warm (Dec 2019), comfortable, very quiet, and bright space with eye-level skylights that provide lots of daylight and that swing open for ventillation. The food preparation area is compact but well equipped, likewise the bathroom. Wifi download speed is "Somerset rural" - typically less than 1Mbps but with occasional, unpredictable, bursts of 3-4. Highly reccommended; I really enjoyed being there!

This eco-cabin made from locally sourced timber is the ideal hideaway. With a comfy living space and kitchen, a double & single room, a woodburner and shower it's got all you need. There's also an award winning Organic farm shop on the farm.
The eco-cabin is self contained so you'll have your own space within which to relax.

The shop also stocks a wide range of wine, cider, apple juice, fresh vegetables, cheese, milk and ice cream so you won't go hungry! In our village is the award winning pub the Half Way house, which has an excellent reputation for real ales and good food. You can be sure of a roaring fire in there to warm you up! So whether you fancy cooking your own locally sourced meal or enjoying someone else doing it for you, there are plenty of options available.

  • This is a lovely cabin and Jessie is a fantastic host. With a lovely fire burning on our arrival and enough wood for the night to keep us snug it was great. Jessie couldn't do enough for us and I would highly recommend this little gem! Oh and the farm shop is awesome, (meat, eggs, bread, cheese and loads more.)

  • Yamuna is a wonderful host. I felt very welcome into her peaceful and welcoming home. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is just what I needed.

    Jane2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Unpretentious accommodation really handy for Glastonbury and the Somerset Levels. Our host pointed out a great place to watch the starling murmurations, and told us about the impending Glastonbury Carnival (which we sampled!) So we knew to avoid traffic congestion. A warm and generous host! We were given a fantastic breakfast - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, fresh bread, home made spreads, eggs... Yamuna shared her Krishna experiences with us and also offered her skills in a variety of alternative therapies. The reflexology was brilliant! She well deserves the accolade of SuperHost ...

    Elizabeth2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to get to Glastonbury with car. The host is friendly, welcoming and a very interesting lady. Everything you need is provided. Would definitely recommend.

    Lisa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's even nicer than it says in the advert. Yamuna is really cool!

    Alba2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna’s home is so peaceful & she is a very warm, kind hearted host. We only stayed for one night & were made to feel at home. Thank you Yamuna 🙏

    Emily2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna is a very sweet and lovely host, always checking if you have everything you need. The room was comfortable and I especially liked the garden at the back that backed onto the field for my daily yoga practice. As I spent time in Glastonbury it was great as only about a 15 minutes drive. Thanks again Yamuna for a lovely stay.

    Emma2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna’s home is a sanctuary and Yamuna is more than a host - she will treat you as family. Her heart is enormous; her attentiveness to your needs is vast. Her earth/fire nature was a perfect catalyst for the process I went through in Glastonbury. Thank you to my beautiful new Goddess friend, Yamuna! Tips: 1.) It is helpful to have a car 2.) If you are sensitive - bring earplugs for the country road traffic noise as the window is on the st. side of the house

  • Such a wonderful host and venue, if you are looking for peace and quiet in the middle of nowhere, which I was. It was cosy, homely and clean, lovely and warm and soft bed. Tracey let us see the sheep and left snacks, milk and toiletries. We just went for a nice long walk, near to the abbey and just generally relaxed. Thank you

  • Staying at Tracey’s rural Somerset AirBnB was a delight. In the beautiful and historic village of Muchelney, only a short walk across the fields from the Abbey and right next to a lovely farm shop, we enjoyed the peace and quiet very much. The barn was warm, comfortable, and equipped with everything we might need. Tracey was incredibly welcoming and the delicious cake and bottle of bubbly were a lovely touch. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and hope to return soon!

Attached to the ancient Hanging Chapel, Portcullis End Cottage is a quirkily-decorated self-catering retreat giving you the best of both worlds: 5 mins walk from the river, also 5 mins from the unique High Street, cafes, shops, kayak and bicycle hire, markets, pubs and more. Centrally placed for visiting countless towns. A small private courtyard for alfresco dining and stargazing with access to larger shared garden area. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. No other dog on the premises.
Cosy and fun decor of Portcullis Cottage. Well equipped kitchen with microwave and fridge, cooker, toaster, kettle etc. Tea and Coffee supplies. Wifi and a smart TV with its own Netflix guest account if you want to relax in doors. No Smoking anywhere on the premises.
Langport is a tiny town with a big heart and heaps of history. It supports independent shops and services, and has great eco-credentials, with cafes and restaurants that range from quirky to trendy to traditional. There's a creative culture too, with workshops from printing to glass-blowing, drop-in dance classes and regular live music events, often with a vintage vibe. There's a monthly vintage and artisan markets and a weekly country market. People are friendly and very relaxed here, appreciating the incredible tranquility of the river being set right beside the convenience of a High Street. With various places to enjoy a pint or two of Somerset cider - including the famous Rose and Crown (or Eli's as it is locally known) - within walking distance, there's no need to worry about getting a taxi home either. It's also very dog friendly - lots of people here have dogs so they are welcome in most of the cafes and restaurants.
  • Beautiful scenery, lovely hosts. Very well presented in an idyllic location. Will be back in the future

    Laura2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the cottage immensely. The hosts extra touches really made the place special. Despite being dog friendly, the cottage was spotlessly clean. We really liked settling in for the evening as Storm Dennis raged outside with all the creature comforts of home around us. Brilliant hosts!

    Nicholas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cottage was soo much better than we were expecting! David is a fab host, gets back to you so quickly and gives you plenty of information. They have thought of everything you would need plus so much more lovely touches. You wouldn’t need to take barely anything, fully equipped kitchen with thoughtful extras.. they have all you need in a way of lovely shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc including the hosts gorgeous homemade body lotion! The cottage itself is so so cosy and decorated with such beautiful quirky furnishings. The bed is very comfy.. extremely quiet when you are there, and so dreamy to wake up to the sound of the church bells, birds singing and chickens waking up. We both said how we would more than happily move in we loved it so much! Thank you to you both, would love to come back :)

    Paul2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful secluded and quiet place, with a private courtyard too. It was spotlessly clean and well-provisioned On arrival. Friendly hosts, David and Siobhan, gave us plenty of great tips for our long weekend in Langport. If you’re looking for country walks, dog-friendly cafes and heart-warming pubs, look no further.

    Paul2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful romantic cottage, surrounded by stunning walks straight from the property. We enjoyed the river being so close and the town shops and pubs! The cottage is full of so many things and personal touches, we were welcomed by david and Siobhan on arrival with milk and cookie treats. Comfortable warm lounge and Netflix on the TV which was a bonus. Can’t wait to book again in the spring.

    Chris2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful home! Superbly located near to the charming Langport high street, and within easy driving distance of many local attractions. David and Siobhan welcomed us personally when we arrived and clearly care about whether their guests enjoy their stay. The cottage is comfortable and cosy, full of thoughtful finishing touches. We arrived to delicious brownies in the kitchen, and I couldn’t get enough of the delicious hand lotion in the bathroom, made lovingly in Langport by Siobhan herself. The cottage has its own private courtyard space, is quiet and peaceful, and beautifully decorated and clean. We brought our puppy along too, and he enjoyed his stay just as much as we did. We can’t wait to go back!

Kate's style is very warm, cosy and country with a modern twist taking influences from all over the world using bright and vibrant splashes of colour to bring the place alive. Relax and enjoy yourself in the Jacuzzi Hydrotheraphy hot tub whilst taking in some fresh country air.
Curry Rivel has a lot to offer being the home of award winning pub The Firehouse Somerset, just 1 minute walking distance, open 7 days a week serving lunch, dinner and take away stone baked pizzas, along with some amazing local ales, ciders, creative cocktails and delicious wines. Well renowned teashop Living Pretty serving breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea is a stone's throw away. The Lodge is only 12 miles from the county town of Taunton which has all the amenities you would require. Other places of local interest feature Glastonbury (14 miles), Clark's Village (12 miles), Wells Cathedral (20 miles) and the coastal town of Lyme Regis (25 miles). If you fancy going further afield for the day both Exeter and Bath are 40 miles away which are both well worth visiting with their stunning architecture and history.
  • We absolutely adored our time at Lodge on the Green for our Babymoon! Kate was amazing and greeted us upon arrival to run through everything we needed to know. The lodge was beautiful and spotless, and the attention to detail was stunning! Highly reccomend

    Daniella2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kate is absolutely lovely and her place is stunning! Beautifully decorated, clean and romantic! The hot tub made for a really great evening dip and the local area is definitely worth exploring (including great wood fired pizzas at the Firehouse next door!) We can’t recommend Kate’s place highly enough for a lovely break and romantic getaway!

    Dimitri2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • An Amazing place to relax and unwind.

    Steve2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous modern & stylish lodge with beautiful views. Everything you need for a comfy stay, the local pub is less than 5 minutes away & the pizzas are great. Ed & Kate were helpful throughout & provided personal touches to make our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you so much.

    Sam2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t recommend more. The lodge is stunning; built and finished to high standard. Set is the quite country village of Curry Rivel. We ate at The Firehouse which we would also recommend for good quality food and cocktails. The lodge is very well equipped, and the finishing touches make this lodge a beautiful and highly recommended place to stay. A fresh loaf, eggs and coffee from a cafetiere were unexpectedly provided for us to make breakfast, as were towels and plastic champagne flutes so we could make the most of the extra-large Jacuzzi. The hosts are extremely hospitable, providing lots of information about the lodge and local area and, of course, privacy. Personal favourites were the mezzanine bedroom, rainfall shower, view from the apex window and the artistic design throughout the lodge. We stayed for one very conformable night and couldn’t find fault

    Ashton2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is stunning. We felt very at home and comfortable and had a quiet night's sleep. Kate was a fantastic host, a welcome book was provided with all information on the lodge and local food and drink options. We enjoyed an evening in the hot tub. Thank you Kate!

    Matt2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, exactly as described and more. The little touches are thoughtful

    Justin2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Communication up to the arrival was spot on,quick responses and full of details. Upon arrival we were greeted with breakfast for our stay which was a very nice touch. Facilities were first class with the kitchen compromising a cooker and hob, dishwasher, kettle (including tea and coffee). The lodge itself is modern, clean and very well equipped. Under floor heating ensured the Lodge was always warm. A spiral staircase leading to the bedroom. The views from the bedroom are amazing, especially if your awake at sunrise. The bathroom is well equipped with a rainfall shower and complimentary toiletries. Leaving the lodge you are met with a well lit path down to the hot tub. Very spacious and was a nice touch during our stay. We bumped into Ed on our first night, very friendly and made sure we had settled in OK. Kate had recommended the local pub called the Firehouse, which she made us a booking for. The food there is amazing! During a walk into the village we called into the tea room, also recommended by Kate. The fresh scones are out of this world and a stay at the lodge wouldn't be complete without one. The only down side to our stay was that we didn't stop longer. Can't fault Kate and Ed as hosts. Would definitely rebook at the lodge.
