The Old Bakery is set in the heart of the beautiful South Downs National Park. It is a detached traditional oak framed building surrounded by ancient woodland with stunning scenery, walks and country pubs on the doorstep. An hour’s drive from central LONDON with the peace and quiet of a country setting. There is a flat above the Old Bakery. Both floors have their own private entrance.
You'll enjoy 60m2 of space across two generous rooms with modern shower, separate toilet and dressing room. The Old Bakery has a small Kitchenette area with complimentary teas, coffees, sugar and milk. The kitchenette has a small fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. A table and chairs for two can also be used as a desk in the main room.
We're a 15min walk through the woods to a lovely old English pub, the award winning Duke of Cumberland. Also other fantastic pubs, including a wonderful Indian (The Banyan), a short drive away.
  • Natacha was a fantastic host. It is such a beautiful barn, in a stunning location with lots of things to do. It was immaculately clean and bed was so comfortable. We loved our two night stay here and would definitely come again and have recommended it to friends and family already!

    Rebecca2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice comfortable place, location was perfect for us as it’s very safe there. Big gates that secure the ground. The Shower is probably one of the best I’ve seen in an Airbnb. host was really nice as well. Can’t fault this place one bit. 5 star

  • It's a wonderful place. Really enjoyed stay at Old Bakery and definitely will get back in the future.

  • Natacha is the kindest, loveliest host you could meet. She is so welcoming, friendly and kind. From the minute I booked, she made the whole process so easy and recommended some lovely places to eat and visit. (I highly recommend Noa's Ark pub near Petworth) The barn is absolutely immaculate and so stylish. The bed was incredibly comfortable too so we slept very well. The attention to detail in every area of the barn was amazing from the beautiful fresh flowers, to the lovely fresh bed linen. It is just stunning everywhere you look. I cannot wait to visit again and will miss my daily view of the trees.

    Em2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Natacha was an absolutely excellent host. The barn conversion was incredibly stylish and it had everything you could have needed for a short stay. Would most certainly recommend to a friend looking for an idyllic weekend away.

  • Lovely people and clean, comfortable room. We didn’t realise it was part of the house but it’s in a separate bit just off the lounge and we didn’t feel too much that we weren’t completely private and the room is beautiful and it’s great value. I would recommend the room and think that anyone that stays will have a comfortable and pleasant stay.

    Catherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Ewa and Richard when I was in the village for a trail race. It was the perfect place to rest my head - with a cosy room and THE MOST comfortable bed. Thanks for a great stay!

  • We spent a very comfortable couple of nights at Ewa's and Richard's place. The room was fantastic, bed extremely comfortable, exceptionally clean with lots of nice touches. They were both extremely welcoming, as well as very responsive to questions in the lead up to our stay. We used it as a base to travel into London, for which it was well located a short walk to the station. Overall a fabulous stay. THank you!

A comfortable double bedroom with the use of the kitchen and other downstairs rooms. The shared bathroom is normally only used by you. Less than a mile from Haslemere station, the house has easy access to the town and the many attractions of the South Downs national park. The room has a TV, facilities to make tea or coffee if you don't want to pop to the kitchen, and great views over our back garden with a brook running down the side. A simple "serve yourself" breakfast is included.
The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Guests may use the kitchen and living room downstairs for preparing and consuming drinks and meals, and relaxing in. Feel free to explore the garden and enjoy the garden room too.
Haslemere is a beautiful town with plenty of amenities and interest. The leisure centre (including a swimming pool) is a short walk from Brookside, and the town centre a little way beyond. There are nearby walks to the National Trust beauty spots of Marley Common and Black Down (with its wonderful views over the Surrey and Sussex countryside), and easy access to the Devil’s Punchbowl.
  • I had a great experience staying with Pete and Kate. They made it an easy experience and I received a warm welcome. I would stay again if needed in the future.

    Ellie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I received a warm welcome from Pete and Kate who managed just the right balance of being both attentive and laid back hosts! The room and facilities were just what I needed whilst attending a 3 day intensive event nearby. I will definitely return if the opportunity arises :)

    Shelagh2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Kate are very welcoming, friendly and accomodating. I really enjoy staying with them.

    Sonya2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room and house that the room is in, is absolutely wonderful! Pete and Kate are excellent hosts, very considerate and accommodating. Very knowledgeable, Pete and Kate always had insights for every need - where to go for a night out, good places to hike, etc. The room itself is wonderful and homey, with all things necessary to meet simple pleasure in life, e.g. an electric kettle for coffee/tea in bed. The proximity to great hikes and beautiful walks is an added bonus, as there are a surprising amount of redwoods in the area! For nature enthusiasts/ecologists/artists looking for inspiration, this is a great spot to see many ecological wonders and the joy of nature! Many amenities are in easy walking distance - not more than a 20 minute walk to the local Tesco, a wonderful cafe (the Lion's Den), and a few pubs. If you're looking for a rustic stay, some peace and quite from the bustle of the city, or in town for a wedding, this is the perfect spot to stay!

    James2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Kate were the perfect hosts. A real home from home and they even provided cereals and toast for breakfast. Much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

    Nicolas2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve enjoyed our 1-night stay at Pete and Kate’s place. Everyhting from check in to check out was smoothless and it’s a grate value for money. They both are very kind and ready to help with you needs ie early check in / late check out etc.

    Mehmet2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a warm welcome at Brookside. It's a comfortable bedroom at the back of the house away from the road so is nice and quiet. The room looks out onto a lovely garden with brook..hence Brookside! I didn't stay for breakfast, though it was offered, as I'd been invited out. Pete kindly took me to the venue. A big thanks.

    Fran2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Pete and Kate's place for a weekend while attending a course. They were very warm and welcoming hosts, Pete even collected me from the train station the night I arrived! The room is exactly as pictured, bed was very comfortable and there were tea/coffee facilities and a TV in my bedroom and I was able to use the kitchen to make dinner every night. Lovely stay and would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you

  • The Piggery was an ideal spot to stay while attending a course in Midhurst. It is compact with everything needed for a pleasant stay.

  • We had a wonderful weekend at the piggery. Gemma and her family are super friendly and helpful. The place is in a great location - with lots of places to walk and eat within easy reach. The accommodation is bright, spacious and has everything you need - even with a dog and baby in tow. I would highly recommend a stay here and will be back.

    Hannah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and perfect sorroundings, quiet and well kept place. I am sure when the weather is great this is even a better location (unfortunately we had gust wind and rain practically the whole time we stayed) but having a nice, warm and dry place to stay made Gemma's place even more attractive!

    Carlos2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the Piggery. The space itself is very clean and comfortable and you can tell a lot of thought has been put into ensuring guests have the best possible stay. I would highly recommend the Piggery for anyone looking to explore the local area.

  • We really had the best time here! The Piggery has lots of thoughtful touches which is so thoughtful and refreshing. We arrived to the sound of music which was left on for us - I loved this so much. The property was absolutely impeccable. It was spotless, warm and inviting. Everything mentioned on the listing was there and everything worked fine. Gemma was responsive, the instructions received were clear and the information provided was great. The taxi service worked very well and the forest trail and pub Gemma suggested were great fun and just as described! We would be sure to return if possible :)

This is a self contained flat built above our garage in the building that used to be the old coach house. Set in a quiet location on the northern edge of the South Downs National Park it is well placed for walking, National Trust, Jane Austen, HMS Victory, The Mary Rose, The Watercress line, Goodwood, Haslemere, Petworth, The Devil's Punchbowl and the lovely town of Petersfield. It can accommodate 2 comfortably and 4 using the bed settee , but this can be quite a squeeze.
This property is on the edge of the village of Liss which is on the main line railway to Waterloo or Portsmouth. Trains run hourly and it is a 10 minute walk to the station. Despite being near the village centre, with a small Tesco, a Boots and a great little café, it is very peaceful and within an easy of The Sussex Border Path, The Serpent Trail and other waymarked paths. The flat is self contained with its own entrance and has access to a small garden. It is perfect for two but could take up to four with use of the bed settee which can be folded during the day. It has a kitchen with washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, cooker, fridge and is heated with storage heaters. A tumble dryer can be used on request. There is a Smart TV, which works on FreeSat, offering the usual terrestrial channels as well as internet access providing catch up, Netflix (use your own account) and other internet channels. There is a strong WIFI signal as well as the possibility of an ethernet connection. There is a DVD player and a good selection of DVDs as well as books and some games. Our family use the space when they come and love it - you will be very comfortable and made very welcome. We do ask that guests park at the bottom of the drive rather than adjacent to the property as space is limited. The space is best used by two adults, but could accommodate two more with use of the bed settee or the option of mattresses on the floor for children. Please let me know if you will need the extra bedding for more than two people or indeed two people who wish to sleep separately.
The neighbourhood has all the advantages of village living, plus proximity to a main line station, but retains a country feel. It is within easy reach of many places of interest as well as stunning countryside and South Downs waymarked paths.

  • This a very comfortable self-contained flat with all the amenities you could wish for. The parking is on the road, about a minutes walk away, but I had no problems finding space. I was attending a course at Longmoor Barracks so had little opportunity to explore Liss and the surrounding area but it looked perfectly positioned for walks. It is an ideal base for anyone that does not want to stay on camp (or whose other half does not want to!).

  • My partner and I had a lovely stay here! The place was spotless and had everything you needed for a nice weekend away. Ruth and Graham were thoughtful hosts and were on hand if we needed them. There was also a good range of suggestions for places to eat and places to go while we were there. Very quiet surroundings and gorgeous countryside! We would recommend and would stay here again!

  • Ruth's place was quiet and clean and perfect as a rest stop after a long day exploring. The flat had everything we could need.

  • Thank you so much to Martin and family who made this the best Air B and B experience we’ve had. Such a friendly, personable experience and the apartment was beautiful! 10/10 would really recommend to anyone

    Siân2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What an exceptional host both in the lead up and once we arrived. The place was spotless, modern, comfortable and well located. There were very kind personal touches in the apartment, such as fresh bread, ham, milk, juice etc. which was such a pleasant surprise. There are some wonderful long country walks you can do locally, i can't recommend this place enough. 10 out of 10.

  • Great place, great host!

    Laurence2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Martin's studio is the perfect Airbnb. This cosy self contained studio has everything you need; it's warm, inviting and extremely comfortable. The thoughtful touches such as additional breakfast items and the friendly welcome lift this place to another level. Communication is excellent, friendly and prompt and lots of additional information provided by the host but also leaflets and brochures in the studio. Martin is an excellent host; his affable nature and genuine interest in his guests bubbles through and he strikes exactly the right balance between being available if anything is needed but ensuring privacy is guaranteed. The secure nature of the property makes for a relaxing stay and prioximity to the town is another tick. The bed is super comfortable and the studio really flows well so that even though it's open plan you feel the living and sleeping areas don' conflict with each other. I would highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again if I am ever back in the area. Thank you very much Martin.

The Cabin replaced our old tumbledown sheds. It is completely separate from the main dwelling and has far reaching views to the South Downs. There is one double bed in the main area and in the mezzanine, there are two single beds which can be linked together and become a double. Goodwood (Racing), Midhurst (Polo), Chichester (theatre), South Downs Way (walking / mountain biking) are all within easy reach.
The Studio is an oak clad building. Inside, there is a vaulted ceiling which gives way to bare wooden beams. A solid fuel burner keeps the cabin cosy in the dark, winter months. The Studio has its own entrance and there is ample parking at the front of the main dwelling. There is a safe area where guests can leave bicycles over night next to the main house. If you are searching for a little extra space or somewhere quiet away from a busy family home then the 'Cabin' offers a perfect staycation or a work-from-home alternative.
Our position here is special. We are just over one hour from London by car and it takes about 25 minutes to get to the seaside. We are in the heart of the South Downs National Park. There is something for everyone; walking, mountain biking, riding, or paragliding are all possible if you are an adrenaline junkie(!) whilst on the other hand, the Chichester Festival Theatre is not far; racing at Goodwood, Polo at Cowdray (Midhurst) are all here. We are equi-distant between Petersfield and Midhurst and there are some excellent places to dine out, some typical country pubs or simply just independent cafes and coffee shops if you just want to watch the world go by...
  • This place is incredibly beautiful, clean and quiet, amazing view. Perfect !!

This garden room has been converted from a shed in our garden. It is quiet and secluded, by a soothing stream with a lovely outlook into the garden, with space for a bed settee and a table. The garden itself provides more space in good weather. An easy walk to the main house gives access to the kitchen, cloakroom and dining room (with a TV) . The garden room does have its own TV and WiFi. A shower is available by arrangement with the hosts. Parking is possible by the room.
  • Just returned from a lovely stay with Pete and Kate in the garden room. It was me and my two young boys age 3 and 5. We are between homes so needed somewhere to stay. We stayed there 4 nights and it was a lovely warm cosy room with heating, electricity and tv plus facilities to make coffee. Pete and Kate were so welcoming and we were able to use the bathroom and shower in doors. Boys also has a great time making a den the garden!

The Studio is a wonderful, peaceful little hideaway, the countryside views are simply stunning. Its private, clean, comfortable and quiet. A short walk from one of the best pubs in the UK (The Duke of Cumberland at Henley ***booking is advised especially at weekends****) and 2 miles from Midhurst.
The Studio at Verdley is a delightful hidden get away. Situated on top of Henley Hill it boasts stunning views and a long private driveway with electric gates to access. It stands on its own with a private entrance, accessed via a shared (with the main house and the 2 bed cottage (also for rental) car parking area. From the car parking area there are 3 brick steps and a gravel pathway leading to the private terrace. The studio doors open straight into the cute country style bedroom, where there is a standard double bed, kitchenette to one side and very small shower room with a loo the other side. There is no space for a basin in the shower room but there is a sink and mirror in the kitchenette. We furnish the kitchen with a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and all cutlery, crockery and glassware. Tea and coffee, milk, butter and jam will be provided. There is no indoor dining area, if the weather is nice the terrace has a table and four chairs. If it's not so warm there are many great eateries a short car drive away and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction! The wifi is not included as coverage isn't great on top of the hill, however if it will reach your device I'll gladly provide the code, 3g and 4g work quite well. There is a TV (with freeview) and dvd player and a selection of DVDs in the room which guests are welcome to use. If required I can provide a travel cot for a baby/toddler, there is room in the bedroom (just!) The charming little property is hidden away, very quiet and peaceful in a beautiful part of West Sussex. Ideally situated a mile and a half from Cowdray Park polo club, approx. 10 miles from Goodwood and 2 miles from Midhurst.
Within walking distance, or a very quick drive there is the local pub the Duke of Cumberland in Henley, Cowdray park clay shooting school, Cowdray polo lessons at Madams farm, The Banyan Indian restaurant (superb but booking advised) and many other fabulous country pubs!

Fantastic self contained little barn conversion a few minutes from Haslemere and the surrounding villages. Perfectly cosy place to begin or end a walking holiday in the beautiful countryside on our doorstep, or as a short overnight stop whilst visiting friends or relatives.
The Little Barn is a recently converted space which provides everything you need for a short stay. With its own private entrance, it has a comfortably furnished living space with a vaulted ceiling and loads of natural light. Also a sofa bed and wide screen TV with Sky Q and Chromecast, a DVD player, a beautifully finished shower room with large rain shower. The kitchen area has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, small induction hob and a Nespresso machine (and a few capsules to keep you going!) as well as all crockery and cutlery needed for simple meals. Breakfast isn’t included as we’d have to interrupt you to bring it over. A small (but steep) flight of stairs takes you to the galleried bedroom with a double bed and premium bed linen. There is parking directly outside the property and we ask that you park directly in front of the garage to allow other vehicles on and off the driveway.
Just step out of the door and you can explore the area through a maze of public footpaths. Also great for keen mountain bikers! Horse riding, clay shooting and course fishing are available in the area. A walk across Bramshott Common takes you to a wonderful pub with great food! But if its wet you will need wellies!!! Walk, cycle or drive to National Trusts Blackdown, Swan Barn Farm, Hindhead Common, or the Devils Punch Bowl. Spend the day visiting the market towns Haslemere and Midhurst. Stroll through the historic Cowdray Ruins and maybe take in a polo match. Head to Cowdray farm shop and café to stock up on or sample locally sourced produce. Or sample wine, beers & spirits at Lurgashall Winery & Blackdown Distillery. If you'd like to relax for the afternoon book into the Amarna Spa, which is a 10 minute drive away, or Champneys which is 10 minutes in the other direction. There is much to enjoy in the surrounding area too, including Petworth, an important centre for antiques and a bustle of boutique shops and cafés. Within the Petworth area is the famous National Trust Petworth House. Other nearby sights are Uppark, Arundel Castle, Nelson's ‘Victory' in Portsmouth Historic Dockyards, the delightful Elizabethan mansion and gardens at Parham House & Gardens and Weald & Downland Open Air Museum. Go horse or motor racing at Goodwood, we are a great place to start from if you are attending Festival of Speed or Revival!! In fact we will probably see you there! The City of Chichester is the next stop along the route. Spend a day on the West Witterings beach, Fossil Hunting at Bracklesham Bay or visit one of many charming seaside villages. See a show at the Festival Theatre or go to see a movie at the independent New Park Cinema. The area offers sights and activities for all ages and you will not be disappointed with your visit.

The Old School House is a traditional and cosy one bedroom detached cottage in the grounds of our home on the western edge of Liphook village in Hampshire. Easy car access, just off the A3 and south of the Hindhead tunnel. The village has a train station. Situated in the South Downs National Park and ideally located for the market towns of Haslemere, Farnham, Petersfield and Alton, it is only 25 minutes from Goodwood. Great countryside and lots on offer locally for holiday or break.
The cottage is within a secure and gated property with parking and extensive grounds. Features include: central heating, log burning stove, TV (including sky movies/sports), wifi, King sized bed with luxury bedding, a fully equipped kitchen with oven and washing machine, a shower room, private patio and lovely decked area off the bedroom and small secure garden with table and chairs / BBQ.We offer use of our tennis court and you can enjoy a hot tub.
Liphook is well located, just Off the A3 with easy access via road or train to London approx 1 hr and to the coast approx 30 minutes. There is plenty to see and do in the area which is located on the edge of the South Downs national Park so the countryside is beautiful with many walks/cycle/ riding routes. We are also near the town of Haslemere which has some lovely independent shops and is well worth a browse. Goodwood is 25 minutes away for horse and car racing events. Neaby Midhurst offers Polo. There are a number of good pubs in and around the village, our local being the best in our view, The Deers Hut which is just a 5 minute walk. This pub is very popular for food so early booking is advised. There many excellent golf courses in this part of Hampshire/Surrey; Liphook and Hindhead are nearby, whilst Old Thorns Golf and Country Club is just around the corner, as is Champneys spa. Larger shopping areas are available in Guildford to the north and Gunwharf Quay outlet stores in Portsmouth to the south, both about half an hours drive.
  • Fantastic stay, hot tub was better than expected and laid out so our privacy was considered. Perfect for a relaxing weekend break.

  • Had a lovely one night stay at Jo’s beautiful cottage! Jo was kind enough to allow a couple of friends to visit which really made my birthday evening extra special, as did the very hot hot tub which was amazing! Wish we could have stayed longer!

  • My partner and I had the most romantic Valentines weekend here. It was so cozy with the log burner as Storm Dennis raged outside! That didn't stop us from using the hot tub too, It has some lovely lighting for a dip in the late evening. Thank you Jo for creating a lovely place to stay.

  • This is a truly a little oasis of calm. Sally couldn’t have been more accommodating and warm, and has decorated this expansive space, with wonderful high ceilings, to perfection. Highlights include the lovely little secluded garden, an enormous TV, and some delicious banana bread, yoghurts, orange juice, bread and homemade jam that filled our bellies in the morning. Oh, and Sally’s super sweet friendly doggies greeted us too! All in all, a wonderful stay.

    New2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely one night stay at Sally and Johns beautiful new barn, the space is wonderful, expertly designed and really large! It has a private garden which our children enjoyed running around in and a lovely mezzanine bedroom with a window looking into the barn as well as a separate room. All fittings are very high quality. Also the barn is 10 mins walk to a lovely pub where we had a nice meal and everyone in ten village was very friendly. Sally also baked is a cake and left fresh bread for breakfast which was very nice of her, we will return for longer next time!

    Andrew2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous, restful stay in a beautiful space. Really breathtaking to have coffee by the window in the morning light and enjoy the comforts of the barn (wonderful shower, amazing TV) between walks in beautiful countryside.

    Emma2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay at Sally’s , she was a great host who went over and above for us. The barn itself is extremely well furnished and equipped. Very clean and quiet. Would definitely stay there again.

    Chris2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sally’s place is absolutely gorgeous and the photos do not do the place justice. The place is a lot bigger than we expected and it is incredibly high tech and modern. We loved the small touches with bottles water by the beds and breakfast bits. We had a minor hiccup with the hot water but Sally was very quick to come round and resolve the problem. The beds and sofas are very comfy and we felt right at home staying here. This really is a hidden gem and we cannot wait to visit again.

Within walking distance of the centre of Midhurst which lies at the heart of the South Downs National Park, The Old Dairy is a fantastic place from which to explore the local area and all that it has to offer. There is something for everyone from walking or mountain-biking on the South Downs Way (local bike hire available) to visiting the beautiful National Trust gardens at Woolbeding, Polo at Cowdray Park or visit the fantastic sandy beach at West Wittering. Goodwood is a short drive away.

Goodwood is a short drive away. The Old Dairy is a detached, single storey former dairy adjacent to our family home and sharing a driveway which forms a courtyard between the two properties. The open plan living area has a fully functional kitchen with fridge (including small freezer compartment) oven (with integral grill), hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, washing machine, kettle & toaster. There is a table and chairs for two, a sofa and a smart TV with freeview, catch up, Amazon Prime and Netflix (you will need your own subscription to access Amazon Prime and Netflix) as well as a Bluetooth speaker and a selection of books and games. There is also a full length mirror. The living area is separated from the bedroom by a sliding door. The bedroom has a double bed, pocket sprung mattress with memory foam top layer and king size quilt. The duvet and pillows are feather and down and the bed linen is Egyptian cotton. Within the bedroom, there is a freestanding bath with hand held spray attachment, toilet & sink together with Cole & Lewis toiletries. There is a privacy screen separating the two functions but it is essentially open plan (please see photos 7 and 8) Please note that there is no shower. Double glass doors open on to the patio. There are muslin curtains at the doors to provide additional privacy during the day without blocking the light. There is also a chest of drawers, peg rail with clothes hangers and a fan. There is a second TV which is mounted on a swivelling bracket and may be watched from the bed or bath. There are USB charging points in the living area and bedroom (android and iphone charging cables are also supplied) The Old Dairy has under floor heating and a combination boiler which provides hot water on demand. Outside to the rear is a small patio area with a table and chairs. There is also an outside light. To the front is a shared parking area with 1 guest parking space. This is well lit by the street lamp opposite our home and an outside light to the front door (which will be left on for you if you are arriving after dark)
We are located in a quiet lane just a five minute walk away from Midhurst which caters for your everyday needs with a supermarket, convenience store, chemist, banks, post office, butcher, baker, shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also a farm shop nearby. Midhurst is located within the South Downs National Park and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Walk straight from our gate in the opposite direction and within 5 minutes you will find yourself on Midhurst Common where there are lots of lovely walking routes through the woodland. If you are visiting to attend a wedding, several venues are within walking distance including The Spread Eagle Hotel (10 minutes) and The Walled Garden (20 minutes) Grittenham Barn and Southdowns Manor are both a 10 minute car journey away and Farbridge is around 15 minutes by car. If you require a taxi during your stay it is essential to book in advance and I am happy to recommend some local companies.
  • It was a phenomenal place to stay and we’ve never felt so relaxed on a weekend away. The note and little extras made it the best. My partner was so happy about the milk. Definitely the small things that made it the best! Will be returning!!

  • Claire’s Airbnb was brilliant! Although we had a short stay we loved every moment. The barn is very peaceful, tastefully decorated, extremely clean and tidy. We felt at home. It is a brilliant location just a short walk down the road to Midhurst. Thank you Claire!

  • Can’t recommend Claire’s enough lovely place to spend a few days, spotlessly clean, stylish and welcoming. Some great little touches like the Bluetooth speaker and Netflix available to guests, loads of helpful information about the area as well. If you’re a couple looking for a nice little trip away this is your place short walk from town with some great pubs then back to the dairy for a warming soak in the great free standing bath!!!

    Daniel2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s place was lovely, beautifully clean, an easy walk to the town and very cosy and warm. We had a great stay and was able to catch Claire at the end of our visit who was lovely. We can recommend the pizzas at The Queens Head Sheet pub as recommended by Claire in her well made welcome pack. Thanks for hosting us Claire - we had a lovely time!

    Erin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. It was warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a good break. The kitchen is really well equipped, the bed gave us a really good night's sleep and we weren't as troubled by the whole toilet in the bedroom thing as we thought we might have been! The privacy screen is fine. The location is ideal - a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Midhurst whilst being in a peaceful spot. Claire is a great host - she gave us a friendly welcome and while we didn't need her during our stay we felt we could have contacted her had we needed to. Would definitely book again.

    Ruth2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s place is warm, cosy and perfect for a relaxing weekend away. Midhurst is a stylish yet interesting town with great pubs, shops and cafes. We spent the weekend there and loved it. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable and we especially loved the freestanding bath tub! Every detail had been considered - there was even a Bluetooth speaker, netflix and phone chargers in the drawer. Check in was smooth and simple. Would certainly visit again!

During this extraordinary COVID-19 time you might need to escape the City or town where you live for some country walks, breathing space & perspective. Or you might need to be visiting loved ones. Whatever your reason, please be assured that the cottage is isolated and you would not need to have any direct contact with myself or my family. I will be cleaning the cottage myself making sure that extra care is given to cleaning handles, surfaces, floors etc.
This cottage is fresh clean and bright although certainly rustic. If you are wanting extreme modern then don’t come here! The two bedrooms are located upstairs and the sitting room, dining room kitchen and bathroom are downstairs. Please note that the bathroom is rustic with the actual bath being mini size so definitely does not cater for a long soak! The cottage itself is situated in the drive to our family home. So although not totally isolated, it’s a beautiful spot and we definitely don’t have any neighbours! There are many walks from the back door including being able to get to he top of the South Downs / South Downs Way in just 30 minutes. A steep walk up and you feel as though you are on top of the world! If you are wanting to BBQ or just dine Alfresco style we can give you access to our Orchard which will feel private and peaceful. Please ask in advance to borrow our BBQ and wood burners. There is lots to forage nearby subject to the correct season; blackberries, Sloes, nettles, Elderflower etc. Let me know if this is of interest and I can point you in the right direction. Similarly, you are welcome to collect fresh eggs from our chickens in the morning and help yourself to our apple, plum and pear trees which produce mid Summer.
Midhurst is the nearest town which is host to an array of restaurants, pubs, shops and general tinkering! Cowdray Farm Shop and cafe is great for brunch and local produce. On a Tuesday and Friday you can even get local fresh fish which is second to none. But be warned none of the above is cheap! Durleighmarsh Farm is an excellent seasonal pick your own. Wander through the strawberry fields, blueberry bushes and raspberry bushes collecting produce as you go. If that isn’t enough there is a cafe on site too. Don’t miss out on the fairy door which is enough to capture every child’s imagination! Petworth Park is great for easy walking and scenic views. Easy for little legs and a duck pond to add interest. Try climbing to the top of the hill and rolling down! Petworth itself has an array of Antique shops, cafes so good for general pottering. West Wittering - THE best beach in the world! A little less local but worth the trip rain or shine. Peak season traffic can be dodgy so leave early before the crowds hit! Take a picnic in the Summer or low season venture to Billy’s Cafe in Bracklesham Bay. Remember, blustery walks can be better than hot days in the sun!
  • Amazing place and amazing Host

There are many places to go and see in the area and we are nestled in the Surrey Hills and on the edge of the South Downs National Park. We can arrange horse riding from our lane, cycles can be hired locally. You can walk directly from your front door onto Waggoners Wells National Trust or to The Devils Punch Bowl National Trust and cafe. Cowdray polo at Midhurst and Goodwood are both equally accessible. Haslemere train station is a few miles (10 mins by taxi) and is a main line with London Waterloo 50 mins and Portsmouth 20 mins in the opposite direction.
  • This is a lovely space, great for exploring the beautiful countryside in the area. Would certainly stay again.

  • A genuine beautiful stay. This was truly a rare find and an ideal getaway for time out and to reflect or just have some quiet time with you and a loved one. I stayed alone and could not fault this cabin one bit. It was clean, warm, stylish and ready-made environment to just relax and unwind. The room looks exactly as displayed in the phots. There are so many intricate details of the interior you would be amazed can fit in such a small space. Even the shower was luxurious. I will definitetly be back out here again. Amazing and helpful host, I could go on but really this is a charm and a rare find in my books. I loved it and wish them more success in sharing this beautiful space!

  • A lovely little cabin in a semirural location 15 miles from Guildford. Basic, but sufficient facilities, with good wifi, TV and a fairly powerful shower. It's cosy, but not cramped. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

  • Lovely cosy cabin, would definitely recommend.

We just stayed for 1 night but found the check in process and all comms from Mark very easy and fast. Excellent location for walking or just exploring the Surrey Hills/South Downs. Highly recommend the breakfast if you have the chance. We would have loved to stay for a few more nights. Highly recommended.

  • A beautiful and cosy cabin perfect for relaxing and unwinding in your own private space. It’s close to pubs and restaurants, as well as lovely natural beauty - we went on a walk around the Devil’s Punch Bowl which was fantastic! Mark and Janice were friendly and welcoming, and we would recommend the cabin to all.

  • Lovely little place to stay, very quiet and peaceful. I was worried when I booked that noise from the A3 might be an issue but you can't hear it at all. Convenient position for going south to the coast or north to Guildford, and with shops and a garage locally. Very clean. While cosy it's very well thought out and equipped to make best use of the space. Very clean and homely, definitely recommended!

Our Shepherd's hut is set amongst 30 acres of unspoilt mixed woodland and paddocks, just on the edge of the South Downs national park and yet also moments away from Haslemere's lovely shops, restaurants and cafes. The hut is fully insulated and has central heating so is suitable for year round use. You will have privacy and your own space, and although our family home is on the same site, it is nearly 200 metres away . We are on site and will be at hand if you need anything.
Our brand new shepherds hut has recently been built to a high specification. It is a good sized hut with a kingsized bed, kitchenette and en-suite bathroom with a good sized shower. It is well insulated, with central heating, and is fully serviced so will be comfortable year round. The hut is situated out of sight of our main residence in a secluded position. Due to the bad winter weather the parking is available on the large tarmac area by our garaging & stabling, but from spring and summer it will have its own private space very close by. We have 30 acres of fields and woodland and guests are welcome to explore and we have some amazing walks nearby as are within easy reach of Black Down, Devils Punchbowl (Hindhead) We have lots of animals and you are welcome to collect fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning. Just ask and we will direct you.
The great thing about our location is that you can have the best of both worlds- peace & quiet surrounded by woodland, yet shops and restaurants are only a 10 minute walk away (3 min drive if you're feeling really lazy)
  • This was a truley wonderful little gem of a place...Vicky the host was amazing withbthe little extras she left for us of milk, bread and eggs..the hut was everything and more....could not fault it at all from the location to the actual shepards hut..cosy,romantic and warm...I would definatly come back to explore more..and I I'll be telling my freinds all about it!!

    Clare2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and relaxing stay. Highly recommend, the hut is absolutely lovely.

    Rosie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, can't think of anything that would improve this Shepherds Hut! It had everything I could possibly need. Would definitely book again if in the area.

    Tony2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I would totally recommend this. My husband and I had a much needed night away to relax and top up on parenting tokens. This was a lovely peaceful location with stunning walks just a stones throw away. You will not be disappointed.

    Gladys2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Vicky's shepherd's hut is an absolute joy. It is equipped beautifully with everything you need - all designed so cleverly that is feels genuinely spacious inside. It might look like a shepherd's hut from the outside, but step through the door and it's a real little home from home! The location is truly private and the woodland birdsong blissful. Tip : for any vegan guests "Hemingway's" on the High Street is a revelation, the choice is phenomenal

    Angela2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hut in the woods. We managed just fine without a car- station, supermarket & pub are all within 15 mins walk. It was comfortable & peaceful :)

Lovely private open plan studio in glorious surroundings beneath the South Downs. It is light, airy and very peaceful with stunning views and a private outside seating area. A footpath leads straight from the garden to the South Downs Way and exceptional walking/cycling. There is a celebrated pub, The Three Horseshoes, within walking distance serving great food and local beers. Goodwood (motor and horse racing) is 20 minutes and Midhurst (Cowdray castle) is 6.5 miles. Chichester is 12 miles.
Dear All, Please forgive the need to close for the month of April, at this time being in accordance with government and W.H.O guidelines. As soon as there is better news the BnB will be joyously open and ready for your bookings. Take care of each other and see you soon, Jess The barn is spacious, open plan living with a separate bathroom (overall 980 square feet) with 2 double French doors (south and west) making it super light and airy inside. The kitchen is very well kitted out with all the utensils, pots, pans and crockery you could need for cooking. It has a microwave oven, fan oven, hot plates, large fridge/freezer, n'espresso machine, cafetière (coffee press), toaster, kettle, nutri-bullet, blender, magimix and a dish washer. The accommodation comprises a double bed and a single bed (see below for measurements ) making room for 2 adults and 1 child, or for 3 adults: King sized bed 5' (153 cm) x 6’ 6 (200cm) memory foam mattress. Crushed linen sheets. Single bed measuring 3’ (92cm) X 6’3 (190cm) Memory foam mattress, crushed linen sheets. I also have a travel cot should you need. I can put a spare mattress out on the floor if you wanted to put up another child for a small fee to cover the extra laundry/cleaning time. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, shaving sockets, a heated towel rail and a wall mounted fan heater to make it toasty in the winter. I provide lots of little extras like dressing gowns, slippers and hot water bottles, shampoos, soaps, a hairdryer and some other essential toiletries, plenty of toilet rolls and lots of towels. There are 3 sofas and a big coffee table, making it very comfortable for spreading out and relaxing. A 40" TV with DVD player, a large dining table with 6 chairs and a gorgeous functioning wood burning stove. There's also a picnic cooler bag and a picnic rug for the warmer months and deck chairs in the garden. There is a safe and a radio/CD player. Tha BnB is insulated and really cosy (heated) in the winter and lovely and cool in the summer. I have ordnance survey maps of the area for planning walks which you can take straight from the garden.
Elsted lies in a pocket of beautiful countryside that winds beneath the stunning South Downs. The pretty Anglican parish church shows rare remnants of Norman herringbone construction and a small and un-powered 13th century shepherds' church lies a mile down the winding lane. The Three Horseshoes is a wonderful pub, minutes from the studio by foot and has been an Inn for some 400 years. The Farm setting here boasts big skies and often wonderful displays of stars at night with a 180 degree view of the South Downs right from the studio. The pretty Market towns of Petersfield and Midhurst lie 10 minutes equidistant. Chichester with its medieval cathedral, Fishbourne Roman Palace, world famous Festival Theatre, art galleries and restaurants, is 12 miles to the south. Goodwood racecourse (one of the most idyllic race course settings in the world) and motor circuit is also very near and well worth a visit, particularly during Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood. Just beyond Chichester is the beautiful beach at West Wittering and East Head where you can grab fish and chips on the beach or go to Billy's Beach Bar a mile away in East Wittering. The White Horse at Chilgrove (7 miles) has wonderful food and a lovely jazz trio who play on Sundays.
