  • This cottage was everything we wanted for a little weekend get away. It was super clean & very homely. The bed was very comfy. We loved the bath, this was great.. we also liked that there were bathrobes provided! Would definitely stay here again.

  • This cottage is the perfect escape. We drove from South London which took just over 4.5 hours on lovely winding country roads through the welsh countryside and mountains. The cottage is bursting with character (we particularly liked the beams and log fire) whilst perfectly modern with every amenity under the sun. The jacuzzi bath is fabulous and the kitchen is incredibly well stocked. We had a welcome note and package which was a lovely touch. The free parking right outside is a helpful touch, and the town nearby is very easy to get to, sporting a huge supermarket and then some smaller bakery’s, book shops etc. There is a huge range of information provided at the cottage and we took one of the hiking routes along Harlech beach which was wonderful. Overall would absolutely recommend a stay if you are seeking a cosy country escape.

    Aimee2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! Had everything you could want and more! The cottage feels like a home away from home. Host was extremely helpful and provided all the information required. Would definitely stay here again!

  • We stayed for 3 nights and in all honesty we had a fantastic time- it exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect; the pub (The Grape) with wonderful food/service only 1 minute walk down the road. 10 minute drive to the nearest village, has everything you need for a short stay (Tesco/ shops/ cafe's). During out stay one of the days it was impossible to go out due to the weather (we attempted and nearly got stuck due to flooding!) but still had a lovely day chilling in the cottage and again was super handy for The Grape to be within walking distance. The property itself was beautifully decorated/ very homely/ clean with high quality fixtures and fittings. The parking outside was an added bonus as well as the area being super quiet. All in all we would love to come back in a couple of years but we would personally choose to come around April. We could not fault our stay, it was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Comfortable, well-appointed cottage providing ideal accommodation for a short break or longer stay. Blaenau is the perfect location for an active holiday in Snowdonia, for just relaxing, or for a bit of both. Direct view of the Ffestiniog Railway.
The cottage provides a comfortable base for a short or long holiday, whether you intend this to be full of activities, a chill out, or a combination of both. The cottage sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms. One of the rooms has a double bed and the other has a double / single bunk bed, so it can be used either as a double bedroom or as a twin bedroom. There’s wardrobe and drawer storage in the bedrooms. You can either bring your own bed linen (we provide duvets and pillows for all guests) and towels, or we can provide and launder bed linen and / or towels for an extra charge (see "Other Things to Note"). In the open-plan living room there’s a comfy three-piece suite, dining table, sideboard, bookcase (with a selection of books, DVDs, maps, local information and games), coffee table, smart TV (satellite and internet), Blu-Ray / DVD player and a Wii games console (with games). There’s a wood-burning stove in an Inglenook fireplace. High-speed wireless internet is accessible throughout the cottage and included in the price. In the modern bathroom, in addition to the obvious sink and toilet, there's a full-size L-shaped bath, an electric shower and heated towel rail. There’s a small garden to the front of the cottage, and a there’s a yard to the rear with steps up to a terrace and the hillside garden. Private, off-street parking is available directly in front of the cottage.
  • Really nice little cottage with everything we needed in it. The hosts were very responsive and very helpful too. In an excellent location, less than a 10 min drive from the slate caverns and right next to Snowdonia. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others. Thank you for having us!

  • Perfect place & location for Snowdonia

    Robert2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed the location of this home. It was perfect for what we wanted to do, which included hiking, a deep mine tour (which i recommended to anyone that has a chance), and just general site seeing. make sure to bring socks in the winter because the kitchen floor is chilly!

    Ilsa2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint little terraced cottage in a good location for hiking, biking, sight seeing etc approximately 40 mins from Snowden. Entirely self catering but there are also a couple of nearby local options.

  • Very easy to access as stated in instructions, i really liked the bonus when i seen free car place exactly for me as very narrow streets in there. Nice idea with the key locker, everything was perfect, fire place best thing, 15 minutes walk to the shop, and You need 3-5 wood bags for long evening. Have a nice stay who read this post. :)

  • What an amazing find! We booked for valentines weekend to get away and experience the Zip World Slate Caverns! The accommodation was even more lovely than we expected, amazing views and decor - spotlessly clean and the hot tub with Bluetooth speakers was a great bonus and great in all weathers! Adrian was lovely and informative with lots of local tips but we were given lots of space and privacy - the perfect balance! A great place to stay regardless of the weather (Even Storm Dennis didn’t dampen our stay)! Close to lots of cute villages and towns, the cost, zip world and country walks! We are looking to come back! Thank you!

Gorgeous detached Victorian house on edge of lake with views over Cader Idris and the Rhiniog Mountain range. House is full of character and original features- open fireplace, log burning stove, servant bells! A perfect house for family gatherings
Snowdonia is full of quaint cottages. Bryn Gwyn is special because it is a large handsome family home- standing in its own grounds on the edge of the village- but with shops of the village only 3 minute walk away. This is not a bland ‘holiday house’ -nor is it a posh country house hotel. It’s a a quirky, slightly shabby, very comfortable, deeply loved home full of lovely things.
Great views from a very Welsh village, easy access to beaches, mountains, Harlech castle, Portmeirion and Porthmadog. Brilliant for mountain bikers and the trampoline and zip wire at Llechwedd slate quarries
  • Beautiful place, would highly recommend.

    Jane2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fabulous few days at Bryan Gwyn. Clare and Gwyn were fantastic hosts and very welcoming. Travelling in storm Dennis we were very appreciative of the fires being lite for our arrival and the 5 children we had with us loved sleeping in the upstairs space at the top of the house. It is an ideal house for families and dogs that like the outdoors....... we will be back for more blustery adventures and nights in around the fire 🔥

    Kate2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing weekend - couldn’t have asked for a better house for the weekend and the hospitality from the hosts was amazing!

    Jade2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing property, stunning location and great hospitality. Close by to great walks and mountain biking trails. Highly recommended for those wishing to explore the great outdoors. We were 7 adults and 5 children, little bit of a squeeze but still great!

  • Fantastic stay, thank you!

    Robert2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The listing really does not do this place justice. 8 of us stayed here, 4 couples and we were delighted with the beautiful house - from the well equipped kitchen, the games (dining) table and the comfy beds. Clare and Bryn were lovely hosts and made everything really easy. The house is full of character and family mementos and was just a lovely, welcoming place to stay. We walked alpacas on a local farm, walked around the reservoir, climbed Snowdon, visited Harlech castle and beach, and visited black rock sands - in short, it was the perfect house in the perfect location and we hope to return again. Thank you!

My cosy cottage is a homely getaway which is full of character with a woodburner, lots of artwork, books, antiques, 2 comfy double beds, shower room, and a large lounge/dining room with mountain views. There is a yard and private garden at the back. Great for Zip World, Bounce Below, walking, Snowdon and Coed Brenin (bike hire) and glorious beaches just 12 miles away.
The cottage is located about 1/4 mile from the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog, brilliant for hiking and activities such as caving (Go Below), cycling, (Coed Brenin) surfing (Dolgarrog) and only 12 miles from the amazing beaches at Porthmadog. There is a Barbeque in the back garden with a table and 4 chairs. There are lots of books and board games to while away the evenings, and some artists materials. The heating system is new and is a gas combi boiler, which is serviced annually, appliances have all been PAT tested.
Very friendly people, with a friendly pub The Manod just 2 minutes up the road.
  • Lovely cottage, with views that pictures just don't do justice. Had a lovely stay in February with a mixture of weathers over the four days, but leaflets in the cottage provided us with plenty of options of activities and a cosy place to return to after time in the snow. I'm an over protective dog mum, but felt the cottage was secure to leave her to get dinner etc., and she settled very well. Would definitely visit again as there's so much to see/do in North Wales

    Hannah2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time despite the bad weather! The house is lovely, spacious for a family of 4. The beds are really comfy, we really enjoyed our sleep there. Beautiful touches all over the house that give you a feeling that you are home. When we arrived a lovely chocolate cake was waiting for us. Highly recommended!

  • Cosy homely cottage, beautifully decorated, lovely views, walks right from the door and in a friendly village. Loved the cotton bedding and comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, log fire, books and jigsaw! Couldn't have asked for more. Such a relaxing 5 days, plenty to explore locally, and we were just as happy staying in and relaxing by the fire. Thank you!

    Kate2020-01-21T00:00:00Z

  • Michelle's home is simply gorgeous. She has decorated it with love and huge artistic flair. There is so much attention to every detail. The beds are comfy and the bedding and bedlinen are lovely quality. The house is extremely cosy with a great selection of DVDs. The kitchen is beautiful and very well equipped including lovely china. Parking is extremely close and all amenities such as Co-op, cash points, cafes, take aways and pub are close at hand. This is the perfect base to explore the area from. I can't wait to return.

The cabin is really cosy with gorgeous views of the lake, the private bathroom is very clean and warm and the hosts were great. Derek came out in heavy rain to help us start the fire when we was struggling which we were so so grateful for. The check in and out process was easy. We are planning on coming back and doing the entire weekend again in nicer weather 😊

The neighbourhood are all very friendly and very helpful
  • We had a lovely time at jaspreet’s house. However it was pretty cold, especially If your not the best at making fires. We used the two heaters that were there, and it got nice and warm then. It did have everything we needed in it, as well as gorgeous views. The house overall, was a nice place and would come again.

    Luke2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for exploring Snowdonia, as long as the weather permits! Very cosy lounge when the fire is going, and kitchen has all necessary facilities. Very nice to have millk in the fridge and teabags on the counter when we walked in. Amazing views from the front of the house. Well connected to decent roads as soon as you are out of the village. Nice pub just down the hill with good food on the menu. Beds comfy and no issues with light as some have previously reported, the Velux blinds do the trick perfectly.

  • Enjoyed a really nice stay in February at this cottage. The cottage is kitted out really nicely, and the beds were really comfy. Shops are easy enough to get to by car and its a great base to explore the national park and visit Portmeirion. The Grapes hotel 2 mins walk away does great food and generous portions. Parking was easy a few meters from the cottage. Would stay again.

  • The cottage was perfect for cosy little break! It had everything we needed. Only issue was the living room light flickered when switched on, but we just used the kitchen one instead! Also, probably me just being silly, but the instructions for where the empty the bins were a bit vague...wasn't sure if it was right to put them in the neigbours or not!! But all in all, a brilliant little place & would definitely recommend!

    Emma2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is lovely! We were amazed by all of the mod-cons incorporated into such an old, cosy cottage. We loved the boiling water tap (great way to save work space!) and the heating/hot water system was very easy to use. The electric fire was outstanding - it kept us very warm! And, of course, the hot tub was perfect - it rained the whole time during our stay, as well as being no more than 6°, but that didn't stop us from getting in! It was a fab additional touch. The place was very clean and Ryan had left tea, coffee, sugar and milk for us, along with Welsh cakes, which was really nice of him. The one thing we found was that there were no nice walking places in the local area, so we drove into Betws-y-Coed both days, which was about 40 mins away, but a gorgeous village with lovely walks - we highly recommend it if you like the outdoors! Overall, we had a delightful time in the cottage and would recommend it to anybody!

  • This was a lovely and cosy place to stay which was very well decorated. We had the best sleep as the bed is very comfortable. Hot tub is perfect for 2 people and we will definitely be coming back again. Ryan is very helpful and responsive. Thanks for a great stay!

  • The cottage is beautiful, very clean stylish design and the hot tub makes it proper luxurious. The location is fantastic with stunning views of the hills from the property, and easy access to local attractions. Ryan was a fantastic host answering any question very quickly. Will definitely look to book again in the future.

    Ian 2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's place was a really beautiful spot in Wales! We got a bit lost to the house (I am going to blame it on the fog) but it is on the main road just down the road from the stone bus stop if you also are travelling there at night! Ryan was also amazing when we did get lost and answered his phone straight away so thank you for that! The house was spotless and the bed was super comfy we slept so well! The place is really close to lots of attractions in Snowdonia and you can see the mountains from the house! Would definitely stay again!

    Chelsea2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place was cosy yet stylish, and was equipped with modern touches such as an instant hot water tap and a gas fire. We were left lovely little touches such as slippers for the hot tub, welsh cakes and milk which made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was lovely and didn’t require pre heating. The bed was very comfy and the space as a whole was perfect, the pictures don’t do it justice. Located in a lovely area of Snowdonia which felt remote but with easy access to local amenities such as shops and pubs. Close to lots of lovely walks. Would 100% recommend!

  • We had a fabulous stay at Dawns ‘posh pod’, the pod was super cosy and stylish. There were great touches such as ‘Alexa’, and TV! The bed was comfortable, the pod was very clean and all basic amenities available... I loved the hand soap on the wall! The tips were great, we ventured to the beautiful waterfall down the road and the views well... wow waking up to the beautiful view made each day great! Dawn was quick to respond to queries and checked we were all okay once we were settled in! I would definitely come back and stay here!

  • Picture perfect view of mountains in front of an amazing wooden pod set in its own area with parking space right next to it. Arrived with spot on directions sent by Dawn who was a perfect smiley host and who clearly loves living there. The pod was lovely and warm due to underfloor heating, very spacious bathroom with hot shower. Lots of thoughtful touches in pod to make yourself at home and great outdoor seating along with pizza oven which was easy to light using wood which we bought along ourselves. Lots of walking routes and a spectacular waterfall set in a rainforest in the Coed Llennyrch, Nature Reserve, all walkable straight up from the back of the pod. Perfect break in Maentwrog with stunning views and lots of fresh air! Thank you Dawn.

  • We had an amazing stay at the PoshPod. Words cannot describe how beautiful the view surrounding the pod is - just like a post card. The pod was really cosy, warm and very clean. We would definitely recommend visiting the alpaca farm just one mile down the road, where you can feed and walk alpacas, and meet many other animals. Would definitely recommend to anyone - thank you Dawn

Our valley cottage is ideal for couples. It is a small but perfectly formed 500 year old dwelling nestled in the idyllic Nantmor Valley near to Beddgelert with walks, along rivers and lanes or over the hills and mountains, all from the front door The outside offers you gorgeous views or you can sit & gaze out onto the hills through the wall of glass from inside this pretty home The woodburner is perfect for those precious evenings of simply relaxing together and enjoying the tranquility
Looking straight out onto the hills and with mountains beyond, this little home is warm and cosy in winter and sunny and bright in the summer. We have plans to add even more to this lovely space over time including a wood fired hot-tub but presently, the landscaping is presently basic with the garden mainly laid to lawn. It has a patio area and a bistro table and chairs to enjoy the wonderful views overlooking the paddocks and hills and.of course, a glass of bubbly. There is a small ensuite shower room, a pretty bedroom with a king sized bed, Living room with the most comfortable settee ever (well, we think so) and a woodburning stove to snuggle up in front of. The kitchen is fully equipped with Bosch dishwasher, oven and hob, a hood extractor fan, a fridgefreezer and a microwave (we offer a free laundry service) There is a bistro dining table and tub chairs in which to sit and relax while looking out at the views through the full length glass gable end. For anyone looking for guests to join them, we also have two rooms in our own home that may be available, please see our other listings for details.
We are in the Snowdonia National Park, a short car ride to Mount Snowdon or a longer walk of four miles to get to the Watkins Path. Our local village is Beddgelert, a pretty mountain community with pubs, restaurants, gift shops and a general and post office store. The exhilarating zip wire rides at Blaenau Ffestiniog are nearby and Bethesda (the largest and fastest in the world) is just a twenty five minute drive. For a more sedate pace, we have some of the loveliest beaches within easy reach and golf courses of high standards including the Royal St David at Harlech. Spring brings the opening of cafes and coffee shops in which to enjoy a bit of people watching, not something you can do in the cottage but you will see the odd sheep, horse or goat!
  • Fantastic secluded location with amazing views over the river and woods. Very quiet and peaceful so perfect for relaxing and time alone. Super nice touches from the host made this an experience to really enjoy and remember. A great base for exploring northern Snowdonia and then coming back to relax and recharge.

We slept comfortably, and ate delicious breakfasts. Also we left knowing much more about Wales and Welsh history due to some very interesting talks with both Ross and Eveline. Wonderful experience. I can't wait to return!

  • What a beautiful home in a breathtaking location. We loved every minute of our stay here, with walks out onto stunning countryside all on the doorstep. Bedrooms we're cosy, clean and very comfortable. Jenny was very prompt in replying and helpful. Welcome pack was packed with information on the house and surrounding areas. Can't wait to go back, thanks Jenny!

  • I can highly recommend this lovely place, we had a wonderful time there. We loved sitting around the fireplace in the cold and dark evenings. 10/10

  • Lovely cosy cottage more lovely than the pics convey. Place is ideally located for beautiful hill walking and lovely beaches

    Timothy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, great location and a really generous amount of fuel provided which really helped us through the storm!

    Richard2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage! We loved our stay.

    Ellen2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is a wonderful retreat for anyone wanting to escape the hubbub of city life! It’s a very well equipped kitchen to cook up a storm. It’s a decent size fridge and freezer, as well as a microwave and cooker. The bed is very comfortable and has an electric blanket which really helps combat the weathers cold. The Airbnb itself is extremely quiet and had a wonderfully calming sitting room so you can wind away time reading. If you’re after decent walks, you’ll also find these on your door steps, as we were able to do a 4 hr walk straight from the cottage... All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to couples and families alike.

  • We spent a lovely few days at the cottage over New Year. The village is very pretty and the people we met were helpful and friendly. The cottage has lots of nice thoughtful amenities to make your stay comfortable. Once both fires are roaring it’s very cosy, we didn’t need the extra heating, electric blankets etc. the steps up to the house weren’t an issue and they provide excellent views. We visited Port Meirion , Bedd Gelert and Harlech whilst staying, all very accessible and worth exploring. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a cosy place in a quiet rural setting. The area itself is stunning, fantastic for anyone into landscape photography. Maentwrog village has some lovely buildings and a great westerly view down the valley, The Grapes pub was handy for an evening meal, it gets very busy so you might want to book...and arrive hungry, the portions are the biggest I’ve seen! The kitchen is well equipped and there are some board games and good books if you want to spend time indoors or have cosy evenings. Always hot water in the shower and the bathroom radiator was always hot which was a pleasant surprise (many Welsh cottages we’ve stayed in have cold bathrooms). We were a party of 6 (ok the 2 grandparents did grumble a bit about the steps, but their fire laying skills are better then ours!) and we were comfortably accommodated, though we didn’t meet Jenny our host she is contactable and the lockbox check in and out couldn’t be easier. Thank you Jenny :)

    Kate2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely, traditional and cosy welsh cottage in a beautiful location. We were able to visit the beach, go on hill walks and try a zip wire - all within 15/20m from the property. The local pub is great for food and Jenny was a fab host. Highly recommended and perfect place to explore and enjoy Snowdonia any time of the year. We went for Christmas and Jenny had left a thoughtful little Christmas tree for us.

This house was originally a butchers shop in the picturesque village of Tanygrisiau. It has a self contained garden flat on the lower ground floor. The Ffestiniog railway runs in front of the main house and beautiful walks are on the doorstep.
The house retains many original features although the lower ground floor flat is newly renovated with an added private conservatory. It still retains the old character with wooden beams and a log burning stove in the living area.
Tanygrisiau is a small old slate mining village on the outskirts of Blaenau-Ffestiniog in Snowdonia National Park.
  • Thank you Sheila! She has been an amazing host. We stayed at the place below and it’s spacious with proper big toilet and small kitchen.

  • This was a lovely place to stay - quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again!

    David2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila is a very thoughtful host. The accommodation is cosy and quaint. The living room doubles as a bedroom and opens out onto a conservatory and a little garden. There is a large bathroom with a deep cast iron bath and separate shower. There is a clothes washing machine and a hanging clothes maiden to dry damp jackets or washed clothes. There is lovely stove and Sheila has plenty of dry logs for cold days although the accommodation is centrally heated anyway. The location is close to some interesting walks but most walks in the National Park are a short drive away. The local indian restaurant (about minute drive) is homely and plain but nice food. We didn't try the chippie/pizza takeaway but it looked fine. Nicola and I will definitely try and return.

    Shane2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • You couldn’t wish for a more cosy place. Log burner, huge bath, hot shower, fluffy (and plentiful) towels, comfy bed, private garden, little but practical kitchen made this a lovely base for a weekend away. But what makes this place extra special is Sheila - the thoughtful touches like biscuits in the tin and proper coffee, board games, the offer of a toothbrush if you’ve forgotten yours and extra logs on offer really do make this like visiting a good friend who is a great host. Thank you!

    Ali2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila was a friendly and generous host, and very helpful. The apartment was gorgeous and thoughtfully prepared, perfect to come back to after a long day out in the mountains.

Situated in a quiet area of Blaenau Ffestiniog, our place contains a ground floor en-suite, single room, with central heating and access to lounge and kitchen area. Our place is close to the following: Blaenau Ffestiniog railway station - ten minute walk. Llechwedd Slate Mines (where you'll find Zip World, and Bounce Below) - fifteen to twenty minute walk or five minute drive. We have a single bed but can accommodate a second guest. We have a floor mattress or a camp bed if needed.
The room has a single bed, however we have a floor mattress or camp bed, sleeping bags, duvets and pillows for a second guest if needed. Please note that with a second bed the space can be cramped so make sure your both comfortable with each other. We have a Border Collie named Tess - she is a year old and very friendly. She loves canine company, so if you have a well behaved pooch, by all means bring them along. We also have a secure back garden, with plenty of space.
Our neighbourhood is in a quiet area of Blaenau Ffestiniog, and is close to all amenties in the town centre (such as supermarkets, convenience stores and cafes). We are also in close to proximity to Llechwedd Slate Mines and Antur Stiniog.

  • This is the best Airbnb we have stayed in, the garden is simply beautiful and it gets even better on the inside. The lounge is stunning with two very comfortable sofas, the decor is very warm and homely. The kitchen is modern and extremely well equipped, the bathroom is also modern with a great shower. The bed was very comfortable with lovely smooth sheets and soft pillows. Stan & Angela are lovely people, we were welcomed into their home above for a chat and were very helpful when advising places to visit. The location is central to so many of the best towns, villages, scenery & activities and there is a pub a few doors down that serves good food! We would have no hesitation in recommending Greystones to our friends & family when visiting the Snowdonia region, they were amazed at the cottage pictures we posted to them, they all loved it! Simply superb!

  • The accommodation was simple but very comfortable, quiet and very clean and perfect as a base to explore the beautiful country. The view from the kitchen window is stunning and lovely walks began right at the door. The wi fi is occasionally patchy but didn't give us any problems. Good phone signal. Loved the power shower! It's definitely on our re-visit list :)

  • Stayed here for 4 nights on our first trip through Wales, great location on a farm in the hills with amazing views of Snowdonia NP and the sea. Dafydd and Carys were very welcoming on arrival and helpfully asked and showed us everything we needed. The cottage was exceptionelly well done, clean and spacious for 2 person. The bed, bathroom and kitchen were very comfy and the little touches of cake, milk and flowers was very welcome. Highly recommended if you're visiting the area around Snowdonia and search a convenient location. We thoroughly enyoyd our stay...thank you!

    Melanie2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • There are few places on these crowded islands as free from concrete and plastic as Tallin is one such place: dark skies thick with stars, biodiversity, and the fascinating culture of Welsh hill farming. Dafydd and Carys Arwel are warm, welcoming people with a fund of local knowledge. Their cottage accommodation faces West, and has astonishing views of the sea, Snowdonia and the LLyn Peninsula. Surrounded by hills and pasture, the calling of the farm's sheep and cattle is the only sound. The cottage has a kitchen/living room, double bedroom and a cosy shower room, great after a day on the hills. It has everything you need for a week or two. Set high above Porthmadog, there is a winding drive up to the farm which becomes easier with familiarity, and is actually a fine walk, round a lake fringed with water lilies and through ancient forest. There are numerous other walks from the house, both up into the mountains, and along old tracks across moorland and through woodland. Nearby Porthmadog is a dog (and human) friendly town with good places to eat and buy food. Beyond Porthmadog is one of the finest beaches in the UK - Morfa Bychan, a vast stretch of yellow sand. There are the castles of Criccieth and Harlech to visit, the famous mountain railways to ride on, and the sea never far away. A wonderful place.

    Judith2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a place to stay while exploring parts of Snowdonia. This place was perfect. The location was out in the middle of the countryside. It was so quiet with beautiful views and simple accommodation. It ticked every box and I would recommend that you give it a go for yourselves. The hosts also made me feel really welcome and were on hand to ask questions or just have a friendly chat. Thanks Dafydd and Carys

    Darren2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend break, Dafydd and Carys were so approachable and helpful. Great little annex on a working farm. So well located for a secluded break. It really is in the middle of nowhere but we feel it adds to the charm of the place. It would be difficult to find potentially but guidance was clear and easy to follow and locate. So many places to visit from this location. Can't recommend enough and if we come back to Wales soon we'd definitely come back here! Thanks for having us

The kitchen and dining room is huge and perfect for cooking and eating in all together. The living room is also a great size with space for 11 of us to comfortably hang out in in the evenings. Find it by clicking on our host profile photo* Our cabin is a nature lovers retreat for those looking for an adventure on foot or 2 wheels, or merely an escape from hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's located in the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by native ancient forest and the wildlife it supports, nothing but the sound of the river and birdsong. After leaving your car at the garage, make the rest of your journey on foot, a short walk over a bridge by a waterfall and up a tree lined track up towards the cabin. The cabin is a long stone's throw from the main house but enjoys complete privacy through it's own gate and is hidden amongst trees and shrubs. It comprises large furnished deck complete with hot tub, perfect for relaxing in nature and under the stars. Inside there is underfloor heating, kingsize bed, fully equipped kitchen & dining area, wet room and large comfy couch on which to enjoy a full cinema experience. *From mid March we will be changing our hot tub from an electric to a wood fired tub. We think you’ll agree it’s a cut above as we have learned from our other Airbnb rental :) * The cabin is a perfect way to explore this part of Snowdonia, the surrounding area is crisscrossed with walkers paths and bike trails, there are outdoor pursuits galore from surfing to zip wiring over the slate mines. Snowdon itself is close for more great walking, as is Coed y Brenin for mountain biking and Bala for watersports or simply amble through nearby forests, by beautiful rivers and lakes. On a sunny day, the beautiful white sandy beaches of Harlech, Borth y Gest and the Llyn Peninsula are all within a short drive away. Now for the basics, we provide bedding and towels, small welcome pack (for 3+ nights). Eco-sensitive toiletries are provided which we encourage you to use. The cabin comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a further 2 small children or babies and we can supply travel cot, blow up bed and high chair. The cabin has full cinema experience and we have an extensive library for you to choose from. We are both keen walkers and can supply maps or advice on the many local hikes. You can even borrow 'Jake' - our perfect dog - if you promise to take him for a walk!!
Our nearest neighbour is well over 1/2 a mile away. It's you, the trees, the birds and the stars. There are nearby towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog for your supplies and various pub food and restaurant options. We are also close by to Portmeirion Village.
  • Excellent place already booked our return! Thanks so much!

  • Myself and my partner recently spent a week in the cabin, along with our 8 month old puppy. The space is gorgeous - clean, warm and full of thoughtful little touches like prosecco, popcorn and dressing gowns for after the hot tub. Now I mention it the hot tub was amazing - we saw 5 shooting stars whilst relaxing one night and plenty of secure space for the dog to run about. Mark and Lindsay are welcoming and helpful hosts - definitely recommenda stay for anyone needing an escape from the real world!

  • Amazing cabin, location and hosts!

    Metin2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Such a lovely cosy retreat in the heart of the beautiful landscape. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the place. So much so that on the second morning we had already booked for our next trip there. The cabin is perfect, from the hot tub on the deck to to the lovely comfy bed it couldn't be faulted. The hardest part of the stay was choosing which film to watch from the brilliant DVD collection.. can't recommend enough.

  • Mark and Lindsay are lovely hosts and great at communicating, very helpful. This is the best air bnb I’ve stayed at! Even staying during the storm we had a lovely time. The cabin is beautiful, and the hot tub and surrounding area is amazing. We found a few treats left for us, and Mark and Lindsay were really quick at responding to any questions, never seeming like we were hassling them. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. We managed a few hours walking despite the stormy weather (storm Ciara) and the area is really nice. Being in an ancient oak woodland in a hot tub even in bad weather and being able to cosy up with a home cinema screen (blue ray collection is great), is awesome. Highly recommend ‘Us’ if you like to be a bit scared. No complaints at all.

    Anthony2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here with our dog. All three of us felt well catered for. The cabin has everything you need and extras from Mark and Lindsay that make your stay even better. We loved the enclosed area so our dog could roam around safely whilst we soaked in the hot tub after long walks that were recommended by the hosts. We were provided with so much info about the surrounding areas. It really is a one of a kind kinda place!

    Stevie-Leigh2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great countryside, well worth a stay

    Jake2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Lindsay’s cabin is a must for anyone looking to escape the rat race. Hidden away in a picturesque valley, the cabin is in an ideal location for rest and recuperation. My partner and I had 3 perfect days, making the most of the walk maps left behind by Mark and Lindsay. It’s ideal for little ones too, as our daughter loved watching the sheep and spending time at the local waterfalls. The evenings were extra special for us, spending time relaxing in the hot tub, staring at the stars, miles from any light pollution or noise. We will certainly visit again!!!!!

  • This place is “wow”. Nicely decorated and very warm. You have a full kitchen with a shop about 10 minutes walk so no need to lug food around. You have private entrance, off road parking, WiFi, TV with sky, and the view when waking up is amazing! Very close to Snowdon so great for three peaks challenge. You need to stay for more then a day to appreciate the place.

    Abbas2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious, beautifully decorated apartment located at the lower level of the host's home. The area round is spectacular and the little kitty is super friendly. There are plenty amenities- towels, coffee, sugar a well stocked kitchen with utensils. We had a wonderful stay here

  • Just got back from a 3 day stay for our 1st wedding anniversary. Check in was easy and hassle free. Paula was available for anything we needed from the minute we arrived. The place was very clean, warm, very characterful and charming inside. Special little treat waiting for us to wish us a happy anniversary and welcome us to the place. Such a thoughtful touch. Lovely under floor heating which was nice and cosy under foot. The spa bath was just lovely after a cold, wet and windy 5 mile hike it was a real treat. The back drop was simply beautiful and such a lovely sunset when the weather was nice. Very friendly dog who would run over and greet us daily, so cute. Paula was very sweet and gave us some fresh eggs and chopped some carrots up so we could feed the pigmy goats and my favourite, Teddy the Alpaca who was very, very friendly. To sum up, a lovely place and surrounding area to visit and explore. A fabulous place, high quality, warm friendly hosts and would highly recommend and would definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Alison and Neil

Was perfect in every sense of the word I highly recommended! And the hosts were so helpful! It was an amazing trip and we will definitely be going back. Plenty of local countryside to walk around as well mountains to climb. (We travelled to climb Snowdon which was a 40 minute drive). My cottage is perched high above Blaenau FFestiniog with stunning views in a quiet residential area but only a few minutes walk from the town centre. It is beautifully warm in the winter and in the summer catches the sun from dawn until dusk. Zip World, Bounce Below , the LLechwedd Slate Caverns and the FFestiniog Railway are all close by.
CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS - I take the safety of guests seriously and during this epidemic there is a free day between all bookings. All surfaces, door handles, key safe, hand rails etc are thoroughly cleaned and bed linen is being given an extra long wash. The cottage is centrally heated and consists of a lounge/kitchen/ diner, double bedroom, bathroom and utility room. The kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, slow cooker and fridge with freezer compartment. There is a dining table with three chairs and the lounge has a comfy sofa and chair. The cottage is equipped with a Freesat TV with a DVD player and a small library of DVD's, some books and games. Free WiFi is available. There is also a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there is a roomy double bedroom with stunning views from the window. The bathroom consists of a bath with overhead electric Mira shower. Bed linen and towels are provided and gas/electricity are included in the price. Outside there is a front garden with bench and the rear terraced garden has a table and chairs and a gas BBQ. There are steep steps to the front door and the rear garden. The cottage is available for 2 nights from November to Easter but there is a surcharge of £15 for cleaning for this short break. Please see other things to note.
The cottage is in a very quite terrace in the Summerhill area of Blaenau Ffestiniog and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre and all its amenities which include three small supermarkets which stay open late. There is a dog friendly pub, Y Meirion, at the bottom of the hill which also serves good food and Cell B, which does excellent food, is dog friendly as well. Superb food is also to be found at Red Chillies - the Indian restaurant. The Ffestiniog Railway is a short stroll away and Zip World is within walking distance. Cell B not only does food but also boasts a small cinema and often provides entertainment on a Saturday night. Walks from the cottage lead straight into the mountains.

  • Margaret's place is really cosy! Thoughtful touches made it welcoming and comfortable. Great location for walking and beautiful scenery - we didn't need to drive anywhere the whole weekend as there is so much to see on foot. Kitchen is well equipped too for people who like to cook! Thoroughly recommend.

    Sarah2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely cottage. Cosy and warm when the weather is tough! The cottage is just as described. We arrived and if was spotlessly clean. We had a little trouble with the lockbox but Maggie was on the phone straight away to help us. The instructions we were sent led us straight there with no problems at all. We found that using Google Maps to the Co-Op and then Maggie's instructions was perfect. The best thing about this cottage is that you're so close to so many hikes and the views are incredible. Maggie has lots of recommendations in the cottage for you to choose from.

1 Bron Haul is a mid 1800's former village bakery set over 3 floors which has been sympathetically modernised to make your stay as comfortable as possible but still retains the traditional cosy cottage feel. Ideally located within the stunning Snowdonia national park for easy access to all the attractions yet tucked away in a quiet corner of a small Welsh village. Complete with wood burner & central heating 1 Bron Haul is a perfect place to get away from it all at any time of year.
The bathroom is equipped with a shower(cubicle) WC & Sink The Futon(sofa bed) is located on the mezzanine in the main bedroom, please supervise children as they are open steps. **Please note we do not accept bookings with dogs**
The area around Trawsfynydd is a stunning. There are many walks right from the front door, one of which takes you around the lake where, if you are lucky you may spot Otters, Red Kite or Osprey. You can also fish the nearby lake or hire some bikes & cycle around it. Close by we have Zip world, bounce below, Coed Y Brenin for mountain biking, numerous beaches & of course Snowdon itself. There is a newsagent, chemist & a very well stocked convenience store only a few mins walk from the cottage. There are two pubs within a 5-10 min drive of the cottage which both serve good quality pub food.

Cosy, welcoming end-terrace stone cottage, in the old slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, ‘the town that roofed the world’. Llwyn Hir really is an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts, climbers, walkers, paddlers, mountain bikers or indeed anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing or exciting break in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Titan Zip world, Bounce Below, Slate Caverns, Downhill Mountain Bike Trails, Ffestiniog Railway, and the National Whitewater centre are all nearby.
Small, but perfectly formed! Our cottage has been recently renovated to a high standard and comprises of an open plan area downstairs with a wood-burner (perfect for a relaxing evening after a day in the mountains), comfy sofa, table and chairs for 4 and a modern kitchen (although no microwave). In addition to the stove there is a heater downstairs and one in each bedroom, plus a heater in the bathroom, so you should be cosy! The bathroom is downstairs and although small is newly decorated with a bath and an electric shower. Upstairs (quite steep stairs and no stair gate) we have two bedrooms, one with a double bed and enjoying magnificent views over the Moelwyn Mountains and a second, smaller bedroom with bunkbeds. Please note that the window in the back bedroom is not childproof ( it needs to open wide for fire safety) the lock can be opened by pressing the button, there is a key on key ring by back door if you want to keep it locked. There are no wardrobes (due to space) but there are large chests of drawers in both rooms and hooks on backs of doors. To the rear of the cottage is a small patio with steep stone steps (the path is uneven with no handrail and sometimes slippy, so take care!) leading up to a wooden studio with breathtaking views (you may want to spend your whole holiday here!). From mid autumn to early spring we leave a complementary ‘log pack’ for wood burner, extra supplies of wood and kindling are readily available at the Coop and MColls in the town. Please note that there is no fire guard. There is private, off-road parking outside the cottage. Please note that although the property can sleep four it might be a bit of a squeeze with 4 adults and is better suited to couples or small families.
Sitting in the heart of Snowdonia, Blaenau Ffestiniog, a village hugged by the mountains is the perfect location for you if you are looking for a relaxing break or an action packed adventure. The cottage is around a mile south of the main Blaenau village, in the area of Manod. There is walking, climbing, mountain-biking, and a host of exciting rainy day activities all accessible from the village. Often described as “the town that roofed the world” Blaenau Ffestiniog also has an interesting history to explore. Travel a few miles further afield and the wealth of activities on hand in Snowdonia national park will keep you active for the whole of your stay I am sure. Titan Zip world, Bounce Below, Slate Caverns, Downhill Mountain Bike Trails, Ffestiniog Railway, and the National Whitewater centre are all nearby

It was the perfect mix of traditional cottage with modern comfort - well heated, great shower, oven etc.! It was also in a great location for exploring beautiful Snowdonia - Snowdon, amazing coastlines and Portmeirion are an easy drive away and the zipworld caverns are just minutes down the road. Mandy was really helpful, friendly and available to answer any questions. We would stay again!

  • Perfect trip to Snowdonia. Pero the dog greeted us every morning, the goat and alpaca never failed to make us laugh and all the other farm animals were friendlier than most humans. Could not fault any aspect of the apartment it had more than we were expecting, great location and brilliant view. Will definitely be revisiting for a longer stay next time!

Welcome to The Barn Owl. In a secluded location in ancient oak woodland beyond the waterfalls. It is a perfect getaway for those looking to kick back, get off the beaten track and get away from it all. Perfect for couples looking for a romantic break. Perfect for families who are looking for fun in the local attractions and a place for kids and parents to play and chill in the evening. Perfect for friends who are looking to spend time together.
Welcome to our home here in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, nestled within ancient oak woodland. Leave your car by the garage and head up the path through the trees, over the river and cascading waterfalls..relax and listen to the birdsong, the only noise you hear. The barn comprises a beautiful, airy lounge and dining area, a modern wet room and toilet with rain shower and a cottage kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms, both are peaceful and relaxing and tastefully decorated; the loft room has a king size iron bed plus a daybed for an extra visitor. Downstairs is the garden bedroom with a double bed and direct access to the outside space. Outside you will find your wood-fired hot tub, a sure way to relax those muscles after a day hiking or mountain biking on the many and varied trails, forests and mountains Snowdonia has to offer. And then there’s our cabin, an amazing cosy den solely for your use..sink into the large, very comfy sofa and watch one of the many films in our library, or play some board games, classic stacation holiday entertainment!
There is no neighbourhood. It’s just you and nature :)
  • Our stay at the Barn Owl was amazing, the grounds were gorgeous and even though the weather was wet and windy, we were able to thoroughly enjoy the outside space due to its thoughtful layout and amenities - We bbq'd and hottubbed every evening! The barn was the perfect cosy place to come back to after a long walk and stayed lovely and warm with the underfloor heating. We are already planning to come back!

  • We had a fantastic weekend at the Barn Owl. We loved how remote it was. The location is great, you can do great trail runs and forest hikes from the doorstep. We both said we had the best night’s sleep in a long time because the bed was so comfy and it was so quiet. There were lots of lovely little touches that made the stay special, we enjoyed the cinema room. We would love to come back as we are already missing it, but it’s not cheap so we’ll have to start saving up!

  • We had a wonderful stay, it’s a truly amazing spot, tucked away with the noise of the birds and the streams. The hot tub and cinema room area is fabulous and and the cottage itself was perfect for our family of 4. The cottage did not feel too small for us in any way. When you visit here, you will be in the heart of the welsh countryside, the remote spot is such a treat. The photos do not do the area and views justice, you will blown away each day when you wake up. Mark and Lindsay were lovely hosts, we will be returning before too long I hope!

  • Such a beautiful and relaxing space. The secluded location means you're surrounded by the most amazing scenery, and the icing on the cake.. an evening soaking in the wood-fired hot tub. Fabulous..! Oh, and don't miss the amazingly equipped cinema room either. Thanks again for all your help and hospitality. Cheers

  • Stunning location, really thoughtful touches like the Prosecco in the fridge and movie snacks in the cinema room. We had horrible weather (thanks Storm Dennis!) the entire time we were there but the house, hot tub and cinema more than made up for it! Really recommend and we’d love to come back.

  • This is our second visit to the cottage and it was just as magical as the first time. We love this place. We sat in the hot tub lovely warm even in the middle of Feb!! We really enjoyed snuggling down in the cabin to watch films. The choice of films had been renewed since we last visited which was great. The local scenery is breathtaking with plenty of beautiful walks. The cottage is a home from home with great comfy beds. We’ll be back for sure. Thank you Mark and Lindsay x

  • If you’re considering booking this cottage for a stay, stop! Just book it! Mark and Lindsay have thought of everything and the space they’ve created is perfection. We spent two nights in the hot tub in the middle of winter which was bliss and the cinema room makes relaxing in front of a film perfect. We went with our 7 month old and they made it so easy for us. We did a few walks directly from the front door and you’re well placed to visit Portmeirion and many of the amazing things to do in and around Snowdonia. Perfect!

Bron Eryri is a cosy and comfortable end of terrace house within walking distance of the Italianate village of Portmeirion. There is a residents car park across the road, but you really do not need a car here. Bron Eryri is on bus routes and two train stations within half a mile. The location is excellent for exploring the mountains of Snowdonia and the coast of Merioneth and Lleyn peninsula.
Bron Eryri is at the end of a short terrace in Minffordd, it is a compact 2 bed terrace house, recently renovated- with modern kitchen, bathroom with tub bath and separate shower cubicle. Living room has dining area, sofa bed, armchair and freeview TV. There is also free Wi-fi in the house. Heating is all electric with night storage heaters All rooms apart from kitchen an bathroom have fitted carpet. There is no garden or parking space with the house, but there is a spacious car park for residents just across the road (see my photographs) Note: the house is on a road and there is some traffic noise
Minffordd is on the doorstep of Portmeirion, and is close to Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile) and Porthmadog (2 miles). There are nice walks in the area to the Dwyryd and Glaslyn estuaries and there are also train stations for the Ffestiniog Steam Railway and the Cambrian coast Railway. Bron Eryri is on the road in the centre of the village, the road can be fairly busy in the daytime with traffic to Portmeirion ; but it is quiet overnight. Attractions in the area include Zip World, Bounce Below, Ffestiniog and Welsh Mountain Railways,, Mountain Biking, Snowdon and unspoilt coastline
  • What a fantastic little house! Great location; close to lots of great Snowdonia sites. Short drive to Porthmadog for supermarkets and cafes etc. The house was really cosy and warm, with everything we needed for a self-catering trip. Hope to come back!

  • An ideal place to stay when visiting North Wales, is the perfect base to explose all the local sights to see, with a bus stop and train station within walking distance. Jeston and Shameem have a lovely home, very cosy and sparkling clean with an amazingly comfortable bed! We were given clear instructions from start to finish, and appreciated all the helpful tips they provided.
