Places to stay in Lyndhurst
Hi! Please read the entire description before emailing questions. Thank you :-) Close to Beverly Lake Park, Kingston, Brockville, Gananoque, Ottawa. Great fishing, private, great place to get away and re-charge. It's great for couples, families, and furry friends (pets). We've been renting since 1976, generations of families have fished with us, and still do. The majority are from the Allentown PA area, but we welcome all! While the space is modern, it's still a rustic cabin.
It's a semi private location, with amazing fishing. 100 Catches a day is an easy goal to hit if your dedicated. It's also a great central spot to tour around, Kingston, the 1000 Islands and Ottawa are close. It's a modern cabin, with a large open concept living dining area, a 55" TV and 25MBPS internet. That said, it's a rustic cottage, there is the occasional ant/spider and sometimes things break, when they do we respond promptly. While most guests are extremely happy with the experience here, I have had the odd guest that was dissapointed. Ultimately I believe they were looking for a boutique hotel experience, so if that's what your looking for, this is not for you. If your seeking some solitude, a comfortable break away, this place is hard to beat.
The cottage is walking distance to the Hamlet of Delta, while it's a little tired, it has some things to offer. It has a township park with play structures and two excellent public beaches. There is a small grocery store with a good bakery - try the chocolate tarts! A decent LCBO, and a chip truck. There is no restaurant. That said, in Elgin, The Ridea Pizzeria does excellent Pizza & Poutine, and a decent breakfast. Further afield, Kingston has amazing Resto's - Woodenheads, Chez Piggy and Fort Henry is fun with Kids. The boat cruise in Gananoque is good fun, remember your passport to be able to see Boldt Castle. There are some decent Resto's around, Riva, The Gananoque Inn. Brockville has the best Fish in Chips this side of the pond @ Don's Fish and Chips down by blockhouse Island. A nice road trip is to drive to Brockville for some fish, then drive the parkway to Rockport for a cold pint at Cornwalls Pub. Then on to Gananoque and for a boat cruise and perhaps some dinner. The ladies in our family like the shopping and cafe's in the town of Westport. But, in my humble opinion the finest thing you can do is spend a lazy afternoon in the hammock with a good book and some ice cold beers.
  • We had a great and comfortable stay at Troy's and Elena's cottage. It had all what we needed for a relaxing Family day weekend. The cottage is spacious, super quiet and the views all around are amazing. Troy and Elena were prompt with responding to any questions, thanks!

  • This cottage was the perfect place for some quiet solitude. I had all of my questions answered faster than I could possibly have expected. I'm looking forward to coming back again!

  • Nice quiet spot with gorgeous views. Windows all around in living room makes for lovely views - be sure to catch a sunrise! Town is super close for any needs.

  • A lovely cottage on a beautiful lake in a lovely area. What a wonderful place for a stay in autumn.

    David2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great get away in the woods, lake on three sides of the cottage. Boat and kayak on site for use. Place is super quiet except for birds the critters in the forest. The cottage is very cozy with all working amenities super fast WiFi and large tv. The kitchen is well equipped and there is also a propane grill for bbq. Small fireplace in the living room and a bonfire in the yard for those night hangouts. Troy gives you your utmost privacy but is still within communication.m reach should yo need him. Will definitely be back to “our cabin in the woods”

  • This place is amazing. Very clean and private. The host is extremely helpful. Also a good place for some fishing.

  • We just got back from a 3 night stay at Troy’s cottage. What a beautiful place - from the clean air conditioned and spacious cottage itself (with two decent size bedrooms and two full bathrooms) to the serene surroundings. The location of this cottage is incredible - first, you get lots of privacy and so very peaceful, and second, it’s surrounded by water on both sides. So you get a very nice view in the morning and evening. My husband love fishing off the dock, he managed to catch quite a few - some small and some big ones but then again he’s got lots of patient, he could stay out there for hours. We also took advantage of the provided row boats, it was a nice added touch and a good experience for both our kids. Forgot to mention, the WIFI reception is amazing, very strong - we could even listen to our YouTube playlist out by the dock. One tip: Bring all your groceries before heading to the cottage as the market down the street have very limited supplies and may not carry what you need. Overall we had a wonderful time and very restful experience at Troy’s - love that it’s clean, love that there’s AC, WIFI and the feel of being in the middle of the woods - we would definitely love to return!

  • This is the most lovely little spot. The cottage is nestled alongside a bend in a creek, so that water and greenery are all around you. It is very well appointed with a complete kitchen, so snuggling in is easy. At the same time, a quick walk to town. Elsie was lightning fast in her responses and everything in the cottage and the property was immaculate.

    Sarah2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Very clean and quiet! We came to hike and we had 2 wonderful days with some great hikes at Charleston Provincial Park and Foley Mountain! Highly recommend! The cottage was wonderful and Elsie was amazing! She met us upon arrival and we loved her dog too! We used the bbq and fire pit! We also played board games in the sun room during some rain and it was so perfect! We can’t wait to return! Our dog and 9 month old had a great visit also! Perfect for families!

  • Great place! Even bigger than what it looks in the photos, complete privacy, had the option of going on the water via canoe but we picked a bad weekend for the weather unfortunately. Place was easy to get into with door code and everything inside was labeled for ease, Aaron responded promptly! Would come again!! Had a great time :))

    Clara2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cutest most charming cottage on the water! Mother and daughter weekend was so nice and relaxing! Just what we needed! 5 stars!

    Stephanie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • So peaceful. It is hard to overstate how calm this lake is. There is literally nothing across the lake. The stars sparkled and the place itself was so thoughtfully equipped. There was nothing missing and Aaron communicated everything clearly and accurately and even checked in on us within 24 hours. Highly recommended as a calm complete getaway!

43 At The Lake offers spectacular views in all seasons. Large decks cross the water side. Easy access from 401. The suite consists of generous livings spaces - Three bedrooms 2 bathrooms with ensuite off the Master. The kitchen is large and complete -Dining room overlooks the lake. A dock for boats - a BBQ & Fire Pit to enjoy campfires The grounds are open to stroll -Swimming off the dock - A small sand beach - Rent a canoe/kayak - Enjoy the coffee shop down the lane .or an ice cream .
With the world as it is we have relaxed the cancellation policy .. Getting here compared to others is easy - 10 mins from 401 - One minute off main road. Many places are down long narrow lanes hard to access. The setting is tranquil and is not suited to large groups and I totally reject the big party crowd . It is a quality retreat to have great fun. The suite is three ample bedrooms with two complete bathrooms. The water is clear and clean - A bit shallow off the dock being three feet - There is a small sand beach that is ideal for setting off in canoes or kayaks and great for small children to paddle about in the water and sand . The fishing is top notch with a boat launch at the end of the lane and a dock suitable for a 16-18 foot boat. The furnishings are all very nice and the kitchen is fully complete - The dining room view is exceptional all day into the evening for enjoying the stars . Dishes - Linens - Towels - Soaps/Shampoos are all provided as well as condiments - cooking oils - spices - pots pans etc. I provide glass and china for inside and high quality plastic for outside including the deck. This is for safety to avoid injury. Please no glass on the deck or grounds .. I have very nice metal mugs for tea / coffee on the deck or grounds and dock. I have wood on hand for those who desire a fire (at a small fee) Do not collect wood from around the property please . For those arriving with a boat, there is power to the dock. I was a super host for three years - Some odd reviews and being closed for a few months took away that rating - I offer a great experience ..
"The Outlet" area of Charleston offers amazing views - tranquil waters and a boat launch - Nearby are superb hiking trails at Blue Mountain - The World Famous "1000 Islands" are seven minutes away or trips into the USA as well - Boat Cruises - The Thousand Islands Playhouse and on and on .. High end dining is nearby at The Ivy and more pub style at Cornwall's - The Rapid Valley is famous for the quality of food in a none pretentious manner . The lake is famous for the fishing - The property next door is a more traditional cottage rental operation and is well run with good rules that allow us all to enjoy our time at the cottage ...
  • The panoramic view of the lake here is beautiful and unobstructed! Thank you Gregory for the clean and comfortable space.

The facilities in the house are sufficient, it is a countryside accomodation, you can't expect everything fancy. • Very comfortable and cozy, excellent communication with host and cottage clean with the required amenities. Would definitely return again.

    Suzanne2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We went here during the Thanksgiving long weekend. The view itself warrants a 5 star especially with the fall colours all around. The lake was gorgeous this time of year and you can clearly see both the sun and moon rising over it. Communication and check-in was great. Enough instructions were provided before hand but also during our stay as the instructions were printed and framed on the wall for easy referencing. Mel and his wife live on the same property so we were greeted when we arrived but also when we left. The place was well stocked with all the essentials needed. We enjoyed bbq’ing and hanging out by the outdoor fireplace. If there is one area to improve upon would be cleanliness particularly the pans that when we pulled out were still greasy. It was no problem for us, we just rinsed and washed but for some might be an issue. Overall, this was a gorgeous spot that provided us with a much needed unplugging from the hustle and bustle.

    Kenneth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views! Great spot. Spacious cabin and great location.

    Michelle2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. Mel gave us recommendations for everything. Arrival was hassle free and easy. Everything was very clean and we got to use the canoes! We'll surely come back if we pass by again.

    Cristina2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins provide a rustic setting with great views of the lake. Free use of paddle boats, kayaks, canoes with BBQ grills and woodfire pits are top amenities. Taught my girls how to fish, catching and releasing loads of sunfish right off the dock. Bass were also to be had.

    Hugo2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to relax with your loved ones. Well equipped cottage, great to have access to canoe/kayak, kind and hospitable host. Would go again!

  • Justine’s cottage is a perfect cozy getaway! Super cute and clean space with everything you need for a retreat. Check-in and check-out were super easy and Justine was quick to respond to any of my questions. The location of the cottage is great - with access to the lake, awesome hiking in Charleston Lake park, and we also ventured out to Marble Rock for some hiking, which was just a short drive away. It was an amazing thanksgiving weekend with my daughter in the cottage, full of laughs and memories! We are both excited to return. 😊

  • Justin's Cozy Cottage was the perfect solo getaway for me. The space is beautifully decorated with many thoughtful touches. Kayaking and hiking were a highlight.

    Laura2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing Host to deal with! The house was more than expected especially for the price. Everything you needed was there for you to have a great time. The only thing you need to bring is food. 30 second walk to water, nice dock to sit on, extremely quiet during day and night. Perfect location for a couple to get away for peace and quiet! Pictures don’t do it justice as it is better than it looks. This would cost @$400 night if it was in a hotel or resort.

Stay at one of the original summer estates on Indian Lake. This beautiful log cottage and lovely secondary white cottage stand amidst towering pines, overlooking one of the prettiest views on the Rideau. Lake frontage of 275 feet offers excellent swimming, sunbathing, diving right off the large dock, a sunny Western exposure and a stunning sunset view. This pair of cottages together makes this the perfect spot for large families, up to 12, or for two families holidaying together. Twelve is max.
Our pair of cottages, rented as one unit, share the dock, boathouse, laundry, telephone and grounds. A smaller kitchen in the white cottage is good for breakfasts. The road is very private, nothing but forest across the road. One neighbour's cottage is visible from the veranda. You will see some boat traffic on the lake plying the canal route or water skiing or sailing.

Bright clean cottage with a big yard and great fishing. Close to Beverly Lake Park, Kingston, Brockville, Gananoque, Ottawa. Great place to get away and re-charge. It's great for couples, families, and furry friends (pets). There are stairs to the water and a couple decks to enjoy. Note: These are housekeeping cottages, so you need to bring all sheets, towels, toilet paper etc. and you are expected to do a light cleaning before you leave.

Peaceful setting on Stafford Bay. Great for fishing, canoeing, kayaking or just relaxing in the hammock. You can explore the Rideau Canal from Jones Falls to Upper Brewers without locking through. We have 2 canoes and a 2 seat Kayak which you are welcome to use. You can launch your boat from the Main docks at Seeley's Bay or rent one from 2 local marinas.
The cottage is cozy but very functional. We have supplied all the dishes and cookware that you will need and have allowed for storage in the kitchen for your personal supplies. There is a supply of herbs and spices for your use, as well as an herb garden right off the deck. Linens are supplied. Bath tub with shower. The hot tub is there for your use, we monitor and adjust the chemicals for every booking. Washer and dryer are there for your use if needed.
We are on a private road with a maximum speed limit of 20 km /hr We do ask that you respect this limit as there are small children enjoying their properties and exploring the wonders of nature. We are at the end of the cottage road so traffic is minimum, making it a great place for long walks down the road.
  • Procrastination bay is the perfect place to relax and unwind! The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. We loved the coziness of the cottage and the hot tub was an extra bonus. Julie was super lovely to communicate with and the added touches she put in really made our stay extra special. Would highly recommend this place to get away and disconnect from city life.

Julie was very accommodating and easy to coordinate with, even late at night when an unexpected family emergency had us arriving much later than expected. • Julie is the most helpful and friendly host I’ve ever received. Establishes a decorum of polite and engaging conversation to help with any assistance necessary, as well as aiding guests by leaving clear guidance and directions throughout the cottage. She is a super host for a reason. The cottage itself was immaculate upon arrival and the scenery that surrounded it exceeded expectations. Not too mention the beautiful towns and cities nearby that made for a great adventure aside. Highly recommended staying at her procrastination bay.

  • Great spot, comfortable with nice kitchen set up. Bonus to have access to canoe; kayaks; paddle boards and paddle boat- left our kayaks on the roof😉

    Bruce2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The comfort indoors and outdoors was exceptional. We used the kayaks daily and evenings sitting by the lake were gorgeous and peaceful. The decor and comfort of the house is outstanding. I give our stay a ten out of ten.

    Cathy2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Justine's place is very nicely decorated inside and is very cosy in the evenings, very warm and comfortable. The sofa and TV are perfect for an evening in watching a movie. The BBQ and firepit/chiminea are a great addition - even though it's a shared BBQ between the two cottages, the chiminea + deck area is around the other side so there is still lots of privacy. We were much closer to the lake than we thought we would be, you can see the lake from the driveway; it's very easy to navigate to and is less than a 2-minute walk away! The kayaks and canoes provided were excellent, we were out on the lake every day! As others have suggested, if you stay here you should definitely take a picnic out with you on the lake and stop off at one of the small islands - we stopped at Watch Island which is just rocks, but you can sit at the top and get a lovely 360 view of the lake.

    Tom2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Justine's place was just as described. She included many thoughtful touches to make us feel at home. We couldn't have asked for more! Thank you very much!!

    Erin2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Justine is a lovely person; she was available if we had any questions, and easy to talk to. The cottage is sparkling clean and very cozy. She has thought of all the right touches to make you feel at home. There are boats available at a nearby private dock, including a peddle boat which we took out on the lake. We had a great time.

    Patricia2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Justine's house is really great. Much bigger than it looks from the outside and the rooms are designed with so much attention to detail. In the kitchen, there is everything you need for cooking, Justine also provides coffee and tea for free use. There is also a barbecue and a fire basket. The highlight is the direct access to the lake about 200m away where you can use the kayaks, canoes and SUP's of the family. We had a great time and would return anytime!

    Valerie2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space. Everything is super clean and new. The cottage was bit closer than anticipated to the property next door, but there was still one side of the cottage which was very private.

    Andrew2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! Would recommend this to anyone wanting to spend time on a beautiful lake, but in a comfortable clean home. Access to boats and paddle boards was a huge plus! The lake has lots of weeds though, so perhaps not the best if you'd really like to swim

Tremolo Island is just the place to sit back and enjoy the amazing views while you let your dog or dogs run free! A private one acre island with a large, open concept main house and a one room bunkie at the back of the island. It has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. Herons, loons, otters and ducks are your constant companions. Pets are welcome, particularly dogs. The fishing is great! There is a canoe and 2 kayaks. Conveniences nearby. Located in the Rideau Lakes region!
Tremolo Island is just that, an island, tucked back into a little bay at the eastern end of Sand Lake in Elgin, Ontario. The island has wooden walkways throughout, which makes getting around easy. The main house is open concept floor plan with a sleeping loft that makes you feel like you are in a tree house and another sleeping space downstairs. There is plenty of room for tents! There is a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running water, Wifi and a television for viewing DVD's. There is a bunkhouse or "bunkie" at the back of the island which sleeps 2 comfortably and with another loft space that can sleep 4 with sleeping bags and mats. Next to the bunkie is a firepit for roasting marshmallows and singing round the campfire. The main house has a wrap-around deck that reaches almost to the water, allowing you to feel that you are on a boat. The views are spectacular, sunsets the best. There is also a flower garden at the center of the island; it is another place to sit and relax.
The closest town is Elgin, about 10 minutes from Sand Lake Marine or the concession, where you can find Gordineer's Grocery Store, a hardware store, drug store and liquor store. Nearby is also Wendy's Farm Market, an organic farm with amazing produce, cheeses, meats and home-baked goods. The lovely town of Westport is only 30 minutes away by car but you could always wend your way up the Rideau Canal to Westport and see how the lake lock system works!
  • Great place (this was our return visit). From enjoying quiet morning coffee on the dock and watching the beavers and loons, to swimming in the amazingly clear lake, this place is truly relaxing. Carol is a great host and very responsive. Family had a great time and we will return again.

    Alex2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice comfortable cottage in a fantastic setting. We loved it so much we are booking it again for next summer

    Roger2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning water views then this is the place for you. Carol was a great host and checked in with us to make sure all was well. This was our second stay on the island and we loved every tranquil moment. We used the kayaks and canoe provided to explore the bay and nature. There are lots of great fishing spots and amazing sunsets. The cottage is rustic but has all of the amenities you need for a low-key, relaxing vacation.

    Danette2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tremolo Island is a dream! A secluded, private island cottage with everything you could possibly need for a perfect, relaxing week. Each time we thought, “oh, we forgot ____ and could really use it,” suddenly it seemed to appear. Spent so many hours just sitting on the deck staring out at the water, watching the boats in the distance, the ducks, and the loons. But then also, spent hours kayaking or boating around the lake, with many little hidden spots to explore, and amazing fishing (caught a small-mouth bass right off the deck!). The cottage itself was very cute and had all we needed and plenty of space. Definitely hope to be back someday.

    Alison2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely breathtaking views with private island and cozy accommodation! Highly recommend!

    David2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was a wonderful host. The cottage was simple, rustic, and equipped with everything we needed for a week-long family vacation. The dogs and kids had a great weekend exploring the island and I felt they were very safe there due to not being able to wander off. The Bunkie was an added bonus as well. It allowed us and the in laws to each have a space for sleep. Sitting on the deck on Tremolo island is so amazing. I saw the best sunsets. Carol was quick to communicate with us when questions were asked and very helpful and caring. Thank you for a great week!

    Tabatha2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay! Exactly what a cottage should be. Rustic and relaxing with stunning views. Spent many hours simply looking out over the lake. Accurately described. Lots of places to explore with a nice swimming spot. Will definitely be back!

    Alex2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was wonderful at Tromolo island. There was plenty of room for my family of 5 plus our dog, who loved being able to run and jump in the water. We would definitely return to Tromolo island! The surroundings were relaxing beautiful. The boardwalks were in excellent shape and were very helpful going from place to place on the island!

Private, rustic cottage amid towering pines overlooking Whitefish Lake. We are part of the Rideau Canal system, a designated world heritage centre. Easy access to water and walking trails on 260 acres of undeveloped woodlands. Best suited to nature lovers, privacy seekers, and fishermen, or just a romantic weekend getaway.
Guests have exclusive use of the cottage, and it's deck, as well as a waterfront deck/sitting area. There is a fire pit at the cottage and firewood is provided. Gas BBQ on the deck with propane provided.
We are in a beautiful wooded area along the Rideau canal. The area has much to offer guests with the Jones Falls locks just a km. away by water. There is a Black Smith foundry which offers historic tours. Directly across the lake from your cabin is the deepest part of the lake with rocks cliffs for those who are brave enough to dive. The popular hiking spot known as Rock Dunder is also on this area of the lake (google Rock Dunder!) and can be accessed either by car in the village of Morton, or by canoe or rowboat provided (less than a km.) Life jackets in assorted sizes are provided. There is also a trail on our own property which leads you to a high rock with spectacular views of the lake. Grocery store with in store bakery, liquor store, pharmacy, bank and hardware store approximately 10 km. drive. For shoppers there are unique shops in both Newboro and Westport, less than 20 km away. Thousand Island tourist area, 30 minutes by car. And of course, Kingston offers a multitude of activities, destinations, and second to none restaurants. We would suggest the Kingston Penitentiary Tour, (reservations required) , Fort Henry, and farmers market and free movies and concerts in the downtown waterfront area.
  • Our stay at Nick’s place was amazing, Nick and Jeanie are awesome hosts ! The location is great, Nick took us on a fall tour on his boat to see the colours on the lake, these people care about their hosts. This place is a must do if you want a nice cottage on a lake !

  • Nick and Jeanie are fantastic hosts, very thoughtful. The location was perfect, so peaceful. The hummingbirds where adorable, we enjoyed watching them every morning while having a coffee outside and the sounds of the Loons was so pretty to hear. Canoeing was awesome! We highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to be surrounded by nature.

    Aaron2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great mini vacation! The cottage was spacious and well stocked. Nick and Jeanie let us use their canoe, and also gave us the option to use their dock if we wanted to. We visited Jones Falls and Rock Dunder which were each about a 15 minute drive away. The Rock Dunder hike was several hours long and supplied some gorgeous views! Definitely worth it. The water by the cottage was nice and warm, though a bit weedy at the beginning. Overall, it was a great way to unplug. Feeling very refreshed!

The Cottage sits on a rise overlooking the lake - Fully renovated & will accommodate 4-5 guests (Not a party zone ) There is a large deck with screened in area that adds to the space. The view is lovely with morning sunrise & views over the lake & toward Blue Mountain . It is nestled into the edge of the trees - - Boats - Canoe and Kayaks can be rented next door. The dock fits an 18 foot boat - Small sand beach great for small children - Hiking nearby . Short walk to the coffee shop.
Getting here is easy - 10 Mins from 401 and no long narrow lanes to traverse if you arrive in the dark.. This is an ideal setting . The cottage is just that "a cottage" . very tidy and renovated last spring . The added 16 x 12 deck with 10 x 12 screened in sun room adds 120 square feet of out door screened in space WOW !!! Plus the BQQ area just outside the sun room looks over the lake .. This is a two bedroom space with a good living area.- The second bedroom is efficient and has a bunk bed with a double lower for adults and an upper for luggage or children. The cottage is open and has a new modern kitchen - There is a new bathroom with shower - Guests really enjoy the space -It is a cottage, not a city condo . It is a unique space that has an aspect of privacy nested into the trees with ample play area around it .. This is not a party zone - Yes enjoy a few beers etc but I do not tolerate drunks & parties . The property next door is the same - Have fun - Do not get drunk & silly - Charleston Lake Park is a few mins drive away with a great beach - I include a park pass for those who really want that sand beach swim experience . Access here is ideal for canoe / kayak - Small boat ..And "soft bottom swimming" Some people do not like the soft bottom so I include a pass to the park nearby with a sand beach .. Wood is on hand but not included in the price ..There is an electric fireplace for warmth and ambiance . I do not allow pets as it just does not work out .
Charleston Lake is a lovely large lake with great fishing . People swim off the dock - there is a small sand beach and the bottom is soft .. ideal to launch a canoe etc.

I find Google Maps to be a great resource for finding local businesses and the hours of operation. look on Google Maps when at the cottage and type in "restaurants", or "beer store" etc, and it will show you the locations and hours of operation for most of the businesses in the area. Elgin is the closest town with a grocery store, liquor store, hardware store and a pizzeria, but Chaffey's Lock is also very close and it has a convenience store and restaurant.

Amazing waterfront cottage, completely renovated in 2016. Paradise! Our cottage, "The Gathering Cottage", is the perfect place to get together with family and friends. 200 ft of park-like shore on beautiful Sand Lake (part of the Rideau Canal System). Fun & space for everyone. Rental includes a canoe, 4 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board for our guests to explore the lake.
Our retreat on Sand Lake is a place to disconnect and be together. Sure there’s WIFI and a TV/DVD but that's not what cottage life is about. We have lots of games to play, and plenty of spots to hangout, relax or curl up with a good book - just disconnect! All of that before you even hit the lake, the dock or have a campfire. This property was completely renovated from top to bottom in 2016. This is your chance to share a cottage with friends, or get together with extended family, and allow everyone to still have their own space! • Beautiful place with a beautiful scenery! Highly recommended!

  • This spot is an absolute gem! A little piece of heaven, we loved our stay and our hosts were amazing! Highly recommend!

  • This was our very first Airbnb...could'nt ask for a better first experience!...it was for our daughters wedding @ Furnace Falls Farms...beautiful area. Thanks Mark.

  • Great spot - beautiful views over a lovely lake. Was very close to a caravan park, but this was not an issue and there was no noise at all. Really comfortable living spaces and very comfortable beds. Overall a wonderful stay and we would not hesitate to return.

    Laura2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house is amazing so does the surrounding. It is beautiful and relaxing location on the lake. What you’ll see in the photos is accurate. Just bring drinking water and towers and you are set for your vacation. Mark, Thank you for all the tips and detailed instructions. Avi

  • What a wonderful experience! Three levels of spacious bedrooms and bathrooms! Very comfortable beds, pillows and bedding. Many spacious sitting areas inside (our favourite was the porch) and a fully stocked kitchen. Outside had great spaces to cook, eat, relax, play, fish and soak up the sun. With two fire areas (one by the water and the other by the house and outdoor eating area) you couldn’t go wrong. Now to the best part...the boathouse! Stocked with a stand up paddle board, 4 adult kayaks (2 sit on and 2 sit in) also a junior kayak, a canoe and many life jackets to choose from. We also took the rental of the fishing boat and I’m so thankful that we did. With early morning fishing trips, afternoon sightseeing and evening fishing/sunset adventures it was well worth it. I was a bit concerned that there was a camp/trailer park and boat launch right beside the cottage but it was not a problem at all. It was so quiet you hardly even knew it was there. We headed into Elgin, barely 5min drive, for groceries and LCBO, both were very well stocked. We also visited the recommended town of Westport and it was lovely. With 8 people (3 generations) all loving our stay, we hope to be back next year.

  • Had a great vacation! Would definitely recommend renting from Mark & his wife.

    Lori2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t hesitate, book! The Gathering Cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean, the two bathrooms are huge, top quality kitchen supplies, spacious, comfortable beds, and the cool lake breeze keeps the home comfortable. The three large pine trees down by the lake provided all day shade. We enjoyed the quiet, peaceful lake and surroundings. Off the sunny dock we swam and snorkeled every day. The fishing was fantastic! Most of all the hosts are amazing. If you want the perfect vacation, this is it.

  • Great place. We were a group of 9 and everyone slept in a bed and had a great sleep. We went in the winter. Was a great property to play outdoor games, long table for board games and lots of space for the dogs to run around. The place was right on the road but felt like we were alone.

  • Beautiful house, perfect for a big group. Would stay again

  • Wonderful old home. We enjoyed the hot tub and the people we met in Delta were all very nice. The outdoor skating rink was a bonus.

    Connie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place, was a gem in a such a small little town; its literally two doors down from the small grocery store and LCBO. Michael's property was decently size giving room for the dog to run around, beautiful view of the lake, and it had a hot tub, though small was perfect for enjoying those snowy night. In the pictures, Hot tub is pictured further down the yard, but it's been moved to the back deck which made it very easy to access. The house itself, was very nice, spacious, and though the kitchen and bathrooms had some updates the floors of the house were a bit uneven and some spots were worse than others so just had to watch the unevenness but nothing a pair of slippers couldn't fix, it also showed how well the house has stood up in time as that's the only big issue we found. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs, two in the front and two in the back and the bathroom is sorta of in the middle though the jack/jill door doesn't lock super easily but we made it work. All rooms had queen beds which we loved and very cozy blankets! The downstairs consists of a living room which has two sets of double doors which is nice if your trying to contain chatting when people are sleeping, dining area has a huge table with 8 chairs, and kitchen had beautiful granite counter tops and lots of space for food prep, including two oven which we took full advantage of as well as the dishwasher. There is also a guest house, which has another bedroom and pull out couch, full bathroom and kitchen if you are over 10 guests. We had a couple people staying in the guest house and they loved having their own space and somewhere to hang out when the majority of the people in the main house went to bed. There was a small issue with water backing up into the bathroom sink, but a quick message to Michael and he sent his handy man right away. Michael's place is about 30 mins from Brockville and 40 mins to Kingston, both of which we went to. Michael was a great host, he responded very quickly to all inquiries whether before our stay or during. All in all, we had a great relaxing weekend in this 1850s house!

    Samantha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay for a nice girls weekend. Kitchen had everything we needed and the hot tub was great.

  • This place is a true gem, looking forward to our next stay 🤗

    Julie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous house right in the heart of delta that still feels like a secluded cottage retreat. With only one neighbour and backing into the water the setting was just gorgeous. The house is a perfect blend of rustic and comfortable and modern and the updated HVAC system kept the cottage comfortable for the whole five days. The kitchen is very well appointed and had everything our master chef needed to whip up several memorable meals. The little additional cottage behind the garage is nice if you have extra people. We found it a perfect place to retreat from the rest of the adults with our children to give them a chance to wind down before going to bed. Bed were super comfortable but be warned there isn’t a firm mattress in the entire house. All very soft and luxurious but if you prefer a very firm mattress like I do then you will find yourself disappointed. Can’t say enough about how amazing the host Michael is, very accommodating and incredibly responsive. Anytime little issue we had was quickly resolved by his expert groundskeeper. Would gladly stay again!

  • We stayed at Kingsgate for Christmas and I have to say that this place including the property and location did not disappoint!! We loved the charm and gorgeous details of this house with all the modern amenities anyone could want. The kitchen is very well equipped, the house is clean and well organized. The bedrooms are quite spacious and plenty of room for everyone. We spent a lot of time at the dining room table playing games and we also spent plenty of time nestled in the living room watching movies. The village is wonderful to walk around through the streets or in the woods where we discovered some wonderful trails and made friends with local dog and ambassador to the park named Jolene who entertained us with her boundless energy and good natured personality. Let’s not forget to mention the view from the cottage that has a view of the lake to one side and a park with a view of the falls on the other side. We would like to return in the summer to discover it’s summer beauty! What a wonderful place to reconnect with friends and family! A big thank you to Michael for being so patient with me in answering all my questions and for being so accommodating with my requests!! This is why you’re a super host!! Many endless countless thank you!!

  • We had a lovely stay at Allison's cottage. It was clean, private, and spacious. We went on a walk around the property to a lookout which was really beautiful. Check in and out was really easy and the instructions to find the cottage were great. The water was weedy by the dock and shore, but the centre of the lake was a short float away.

  • House is clean, beautiful and has everything you need. Surroundings are magnificent. You can rent a boat and see the hole lake (big one!). The only thing I missed was wifi, it's nice to have non social media evenings but if you want to look for things to do it's a bit difficult. Would rate it 9,5/10!!!

    Jonas2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific brand new place with excellent hosts and lots of amenities.

    Rob2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Great hosts. Very clean. My grand children enjoyed a lot

    Elisabeth2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and his wife Patty were exceptional hosts, and added extra touches. The space was impeccably clean and although it's a basement it's bright, the windows are very large and you get excellent views even from the bedrooms. It was cool and comfortable in the heat and warm on the chilly nights. We saw white swans, hawks, loon, great blue heron and even a turtle and hedgehog right from the front deck! We used the kayak to go out swimming because there were a lot of weeds around the dock both growing from the bottom and blowing in, forming mats. They said they were going to get a rake to help move some away. We enjoyed the "lower deck" in the shade, the BBQ, and the campfire at night. It was a relaxing place for our women's weekend!

  • What a beautiful place! The most idyllic location. The golden leaves, the water, the peace and quiet. We had a great time in the kayaks and took the baby out on the pedalo. Deer literally frolicked outside the house. We saw two bald eagles fly over us onto pine island. The house had plenty of space and the beds were really comfortable. Norm was there to meet us and called to check in on us too. Waking up to see the sunrise over the lake from the terrace is something I won’t forget. Would highly recommend staying here.

    Sinead2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Norm's cottage, which is situated on a beautiful bay in Charleston Lake. Norm met us at the cottage to give us a tour of the amenities which were incredibly clean and was even nice enough to show us some hiking and canoeing/kayaking trails around the cottage. It is located seconds away from Charleston Lake Provincial Park which has multiple trails and beaches. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend.

  • We had a great time at Norm's. Made full use of his cottage and the lake! He had everything we needed there and was very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend. The stairs down to the dock were great exercise, but might be a problem for some!

    Michael2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This is a gem and Norman a wonderful host. We spent an incredible week in his lakefront home. Loones, boats, swimming, a gorgeous deck, hiking trails literally out the front door. Norman is a wonderful guide for canoeing and hiking routes. Some days we just sat around on the dock or deck and enjoyed the quiet. We were very thankful for the a/c when the temp’s rose. A very well appointed kitchen and king size bed. There is a fire pit across the street. We tried to unplug as much as possible but the WiFi was very reliable. Thank you Norman. We hope to be back some time.

    Katie2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This chalet was absolutely amazing. Norman greeted us and showed us everything available on the property. They have a bunch of water toys and even let us burn the wood he had at the nicely set up fire pit. The house was nice a cozy, bed was comfy. It was me the wife and baby and we had a great time. Wish he was older so we could have used the canoe and kayak but we had fun on the paddle boat. The lake is one of the nicest spots around, i have been camping there before and love it. Clear water and great to swim in. Normand was more then nice to us, thanks for the great stay.

    Corey2019-06-24T00:00:00Z

  • Full disclosure: I didn’t stay at Anne Marie’s. Rather, she hosted overflow guests for our wedding at the nearby Opinicon. Anne Marie was wonderful to communicate with, friendly and helpful, and even organized a boat trip for our friends and family. Our guests were happy with their stay, they found the place cozy, clean, and beautifully located.

    Alex2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great cottage, great value! Four of us stayed at Anne-Marie's cottage for a weekend wedding at the nearby Opinicon Lodge, which was only a two minute walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay there again. Perfect for 4 adults, plus could have 2 kids in the bunk beds as well, if needed.

  • Clean, every amenity needed. It is situated on a lake where our fishing guide easily picked us up. And it is 1 block from the Opinicon Hotel for delicious food and ice cream store. Location very quiet. Washer/dryer huge help for post fishing. Owner lives next door for help if needed. WIFI worked well.

The land has many granite outcrops, sweeping views, lovely forest paths, and miles of waterfront to explore. Off-site, you can visit the Rideau canal and its locks, historic mills, and quaint villages with good restaurants and shops. We rent this property only once in the summer; it is a beloved family cottage which we keep for our own use the rest of the time.

Elvasline's Cottage is located in Seeley's Bay, Ontario, Canada. The cottage is a few minutes away from a small grocery store and some local diners, a pizza restaurant and chip wagons. Upscale dining, major restaurants and fast food chains are however, approximately a 20 minute drive to Gananoque or 30 minutes to Kingston, as well as the 1000 Islands boat cruises. Seeley's Bay is a great launching point to 4 great fishing lakes, it's also a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts, biking, hiking and a quiet spot for chilling.
  • A great, clean, cozy place with every need met or exceeded for a nice, quiet relaxing stay!

  • A cute and cozy getaway with a lovely full kitchen offering a nice private attic loft space upstairs. Branker is very attentive and quick to respond. I would definently like to come back in the summer once the patio is all set up!

  • Thank you very much Branker! Everything was perfect during our short stay.

  • Spotless well appointed little cottage in the center of a quiet little town. We came in by canoe on the rideau and the owner had no problem with us storing the canoe on the property. Perfect for 2 or 4 (mezzanine upstairs) full kitchen. Did I say spotless!!!! Visit the chocolate store across the street from the grocery store a few doors down! No cable or WiFi but it’s nice to unplug once in a while. Very well laid out and bigger than the pics make it out. Would stay here again

  • Lovely, quiet, and quaint. This location worked so well after attending a wedding in the area.

    Katherine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Clean comfortable spot in the middle of town, close to a restaurant and grocery store. Great spot to launch off from to walk local trails and see performers in one of the Festivals of Small Halls events. The house is very comfortable, clean and has all the amenities one requires. The added touch of having coffee, creamers etc for the morning was a bonus!

Private setting with unique rural surrounds. within reaching distance of great small towns and cities.
There isn't any close neighboring cottages. very private with a nice flow of boat traffic in front of the property.
  • We chose this lake house for a family gathering over Thanksgiving- we comfortably seated 8 adults at the table and 7 teens at the kitchen island for a memorable feast. The kitchen was super clean and well-appointed and has a great stove and fridge/freezer. All bedrooms and baths where perfectly clean and made up with good quality linens and lots of pillows on comfortable beds. But best of all- it was cold and blustery weekend- the house is snug and warm, well-insulated against the Canadian winter! It is also close to great prov. parks (Murphy's Point & Charleston Lake) with great walks, and some lovely lake country towns (Lyndhurst and Delta), and it's easy to get to from the 401. Google maps locate the property correctly. Apple maps - not so much. It is a peaceful, quiet retreat from city life (no wifi!) I recommend Justin's place to groups of 6-8 who want to tether themselves to reality, connect with each other and disconnect from the internet.

  • We stayed recently for a long weekend, our host was very accommodating and helpful. The cottage is very well maintained and the view was spectacular! The cottage has all the amenities you needed, and Justin and Stuart are just a text away if you needed anything! It was the perfect setting for a thanksgiving family gathering.

    Karen2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This location is absolutely stunning! The views from the deck are beautiful. There were a pair of loons I saw just off the dock each day, who serenaded me to sleep at night and greeted me every morning. The kayaking was ideal....quiet and serene this time of year. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the cottage was very clean.

  • Incredible airbnb experience, the pictures does not show the outstanding beauty of the lake house. Very responsive and hospitable hosts and I've added it to one of my favorite spots to revisit.

  • Thank you for an amazing weekend! We loved staying at your little piece of paradise and had a great time fishing, swimming off the floating deck, taking the dinghy out and enjoying the stars around your bonfire. The cabins were comfy and so thoughtfully decorated. We had everything we needed for a great time. We loved exploring beautiful Gananoque and the Thousand Islands nearby too and hope to be back soon!

  • Nice place for staying.

  • A rustic cute cabin right on the water. Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake, have a coffee by the dock, close to parks and hikes around, come back to go for a refreshing swim in the lake. Also each cabin has its own small bbq which was perfect. Even though we arrived late, Mel was kind enough to still show us around then. Definitely will be back!

  • Great time for a relaxing weekend getaway

    Geraldine2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice rustic cabin located on a small lake. Great to be able to use the canoe and paddle boats. Very well supplied with BBQ and especially appreciated the firepit. Beautiful clear water but not appropriate for young children as swimming off the shore/dock blocked by weeds. Swimming off of the floating raft was wonderfully refreshing. Mel was a friendly and helpful host. We'll definitely be back!

Quiet and private cottage on Whitefish Lake. Closest neighbour is located 300 feet away around a small bend. Cottage sits on the edge of a point on the lake with 180 degrees of water view. There is a dock for swimming but we recommend swimming shoes. The beautiful Rock Dunder can be viewed from the living room and porch. There are very popular hiking trails located on Rock Dunder that can be accessed by boat or road. There is a public boat launch in Seeley's bay located about 20 minutes away by car and 10 minutes by boat.
  • Jeremys cottage is one of our best experience since we started traveling with Airbnb! Everything was more than great! The place is just a paradise!!! Thank you very much for the amazing time!

    Kai2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy's place was great. It was a fantastic spot right on the water. He had several cottage amenities that he let us use which greatly improved our experience. Overall this is a great cottage to book as a vacation escape. Jeremy was increadibly responsive and helpful. Further, he is has a great system in place for letting guests know how to live in the cottage area.

  • Jeremy’s place is a 5 star experience. If your looking for some beauty, peace and tranquility.... to get away and get some peace in your mind.. then this is your place to go. The rustic cottage is perfect for this lake side setting...... I used Jeremy ‘a cottage for a (4) person Executive retreat... Thanks Jeremy, you are a great host.

    Paolo2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great long weekend at Jeremy's place. There is some beautiful outdoor space- a deck, a dock and a bonfire area- all with great views. We spent a lot of time in the canoe, and when it rained- there were plenty of games to play inside! We had a really nice, relaxing time.

    Katelin2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jeremy's place late August 2018. It was our first time cottaging on the Rideau Lakes. We really liked the location, ie proximity to Kingston and smaller towns for supplies. The only sightseeing we did was to visit the Jones Falls stone arch dam. It was impressive and I would recommend a visit. My favourite aspect of the property was its location on the lake. I really like the way the cottage it situated on rock faces right over the lake. The way the deck projects out onto the lake gives you a 180 degree view. We definitely spent a lot of time chilling on that deck! Jeremy was a very pleasant and hospitable host. He was ready to answer any questions and address any issues.

    Jackie2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • place is exactly what my friends and I were looking for. It's very quiet at night and is quite nice. Lots of fishing activity on the lake. firepit was very well set up and stocked. Jeremy himself is a stand-up guy and is very flexible. everyone in our group enjoyed their stay and really liked the host as well as the location. 5/5 on all accounts.

    Alex2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 5 spend 3 nights at Jeremy's cottage in mid-August, 2018. We loved the 70's/80's vibe and were impressed by how clean it was! We enjoyed campfires at night with the wood Jeremy left for us (thanks!). We also enjoyed playing the board games that were left in one of the bedrooms. The waterfront is pretty weedy at this time of year and wasn't swimmable for the kids, but luckily we had a boat with us and were able to take a short ride over to Morton's cove where there are a bunch of great spots for jumping off rocks into the water. The kids also really enjoyed "catching" fish, a water snake and frogs in their nets down by the dock and spent hours each day doing this. Jeremy was quick to respond to any questions I had for him during our stay. Overall, it was a great few days of relaxing with my family! Thanks!

  • 1 of 3 cottages on a small lake. Cottage #1 where we stayed had an awesome sun room that attached to a deck out back, with a BBQ. Best firepit of the 3 cottages as well. Went canoeing and kayaking multiple times. Mel is super friendly and willing to help out where need be.

  • Very beautiful and relaxing cottage we loved our stay

    Michelle2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I spent the weekend here. The space exceeded expectations - the cottage was clean, cozy, roomy, and the screened in patio and deck were great additions to Cottage 1 - great for relaxing, playing games and having dinner. The lake was beautiful, clean, with access to canoes, paddle boats and a kayak which was really appreciated. Mel also provided wood for the fire pit which was a bonus. There are two other cottages on the property, but we enjoyed having some company, while still having enough privacy. All in all, a great stay for a family get-away weekend!
