Apple Tree Corner with its 9 acres of land is a luxurious, fully-equipped studio with full kitchen and breathtaking views. Huge bathroom with twin tub looking out on an area of outstanding natural beauty. Enjoy land including orchard and grazing for lambs and horses. Explore the nearby attractions of Canterbury, close to Channel Tunnel. After a day enjoying the local beaches and attractions, relax and cook a meal in the beautiful living space or head to the local great pub 15 mins walk away.
APPLE TREE CORNER IS A GREAT PLACE TO SELF ISOLATE AS WE ARE VERY REMOTE AND WE DO NOT NEED TO MEET YOU AS WE HAVE SELF CHECKING IN. ALSO WE STERILISE EVERYTHING EACH CHANGEOVER SO YOU CAN BE SURE ALL SURFACES ARE SAFE. THE PERFECT SPOT DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES SO COME AND STAY FOR LOTS OF WALKS AND ISOLATION!! Apple Tree Corner is a luxurious entirely self-contained studio home, sleeping two people, perfect for couples and also business travellers. Adjoining the studio space there is a large luxurious bathroom with incredible views and a bath deep enough to share, (bubble bath provided!). Within the studio space there is a fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, fridge and dishwasher, very comfortable bed and exclusive use of the extensive gardens. It was recently built and has its own dedicated entrance and private off street parking. A romantic spot for couples but also suitable for business travellers with self check in if required. Space for laptops and WiFi is provided. ****One of our more recent guests (November 18) found it so romantic that he proposed to his girlfriend there and then! We are delighted to say she said YES!**** Apple Tree Corner is on a quiet and secluded lane near the friendly and historic village of Wootton in the stunning Kent countryside. It is in a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty and you can enjoy the peace and the views that this brings. Pheasants, rabbits and badgers roam around and can often be seen. With a comfortable bed and a hotel style bathroom with walk in shower as well as the twin tub this peaceful and well designed spot is perfect for unwinding; a great find. The fully equipped kitchen provides a home away from home; enjoy tea and breakfast in the morning or chilled wine in the evening on the grounds. On a clear night the stars are very bright - there are great dark skies and by opening out the wide bifold doors you can watch the stars from bed! A choice of outdoor areas means a variety of spots where you can relax outside, perhaps in the orchard with its incredible views (help yourself to apples and pears), or in the hammock in the private garden. During the winter the studio is a cosy and welcoming spot; share a deep bubble bath while admiring the views across the valley. As well as sheep and horses in the fields, you'll often find pheasants wandering through the property, often right outside the windows and bifolds. The surrounding fields attract buzzards which you can often see wheeling high above you on thermal currents, and hear their plaintive, long 'peeee-uu' calls. Also in the air you can regularly see Spitfires passing over the house. A continental style breakfast is supplied for the first night of your stay and there is plenty of tea, coffee and cooking essentials in the cupboards. The property is just a 15/20 minute drive to Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and the High Speed Rail to London takes around 45 mins. You will be hosted by Richard and Julia who live on site.
The apartment is near an extensive network of footpaths and bridle ways, several golf courses and riding schools. The cathedral city of Canterbury is a 15-minute drive away, offering sightseeing and a huge variety of shops and restaurants.
  • Richard and Julia were such lovely hosts who added a lot of little touches to make the trip special! Such a lovely area xx

  • The place was a lovely getaway from London. The living space was cosy and comfortable, the bath amazing and the country fields just lovely to explore, even if a little cold. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

  • Wow! What a wonderful and perfect get away. My husband and I were there with our toddler and there was so much that kept him busy from the little pebbles, hunting for shells, feeding apples to the horses and going to the zoo only 15 minutes away. We were even given a few snacks in the fridge that was not at all expected and so was a wonderful treat! Everything you need is available in the kitchen including a dish washer! The bathroom is to die for, the views from the tub are amazing. This was just a perfect get away and we will definitely be coming back.

  • A lovely place for a relaxing time. Lots of special touches such as toiletries, breakfast provisions, games and books, wellies etc. Fantastic bath with a view. Highly recommended.

  • A lovely romantic weekend away with my husband to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The location was perfect for us and we had a lovely muddy walk to the Jackdaw pub which was recommended by Julia and Richard and previous quests. They serve amazing food and good value and a good selection of beer on tap. Apple Tree Corner was just what we needed to spend some quality time together. The little touches of bread, milk and eggs was a pleasant surprise. The bath was amazing and the views were brilliant. Again a nice touch with leaving bubble bath. Would highly recommend to any couples who want to hide away and spend some quality time together together.

  • This was our second time visiting and it was just as amazing as the first. The space is peaceful and and excellent place to disconnect. The bathtub and view was excellent as usual and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for a break! Thanks Richard and Julia for having us again. Looking forward to returning!

  • Aileen's place is great! Good location, very central and close to everything. And she is a great host! The place was in perfect condition and exceeded our expectations. She was also very kind and allowed us to leave our luggage before the check-in time - besides a very nice chat and tips about the city. I definitely recommend staying in her studio and will make sure to check if it's available next time we head to Dover :)

    Luiz Henrique2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for a night prior to the ferry journey. Due to storm we came late - no problem, Aileen was still waiting. Uncomplicated. Quiet, nice central place.

  • An ideal stop for one night on our journey over to Switzerland. The flat is close to Dover car ferry. Aileen was great at communicating and we had everything we needed for the night. Many thanks Aileen.

  • Stayed here for several days with my mom. Aileen had about two hours notice we would be coming (which we apologized for profusely) but when we got to our rooms everything was clean and organized. She gave us advice on things to see in the area and restaurants to try and also gave us a map. We had a really great time and would definitely recommend staying here

  • Beverley is a fantastic host and is very accommodating. I booked the room in her house in the morning and she was able to accommodate me on very short notice. She even allowed me to drop my bag off in the morning and keep it there for the day after my checkout so that I didn't have to carry it while exploring the area. Her place is centrally located and easy to reach the middle of town or the beach. I was able to walk to the cliffs and the castle within 30 min. The room is great with a bed and a comfy couch. There is a kettle with tea, coffee and milk and a heater. Beverley even provided yummy croissants for breakfast. The bathroom was nicely appointed and I had a nice warm bath. I would highly recommend staying at Beverley's place if you're looking for a nicely priced, mostly-private spot in Dover. Thanks again!!

  • Beverley’s place is lovely! It’s cosy, warm and comfortable, which is everything I wanted as it rained a lot and the weather was miserable. It was conveniently located by the station and a short walk from town, which was great. Beverley is really welcoming and a great host, too!

    Charlyne2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

    Géraldine2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beverley’s place is perfect for a stop over prior to taking the ferry. Eateries are a short walk into town, as is the seafront. It would also be useful for business people needing a comfortable bed for the night.

  • We spent a perfect night with Chris who is an adorable and very responsive woman. We had to take the ferry to Calais at 9:00 pm and the latter left an hour and forty five late which made us arrive very late at home and yet, never a thought, that kindness and courtesy. And as a bonus we have stayed in a small dream house. In short it was a very nice moment and doubled with a beautiful meeting. Our new address when we arrive in England for on.

    Teddy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect, very clean and cute. Chris and her husband are very friendly and you could laugh a lot. Breakfast was delicious too. We would definitely come again!

    Vivian2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I booked the afternoon for the evening, Chris was helpful and kind to welcome my brother returning from Scotland to Italy. It is a long journey, made to help us in our move. Knowing it in a cozy place was of great help to us. Even though he arrived a little later than check in, Chris welcomed him and even personally accompanied him to get some food !!! We have no words to thank! The room is comfortable and clean with the bathroom outside the door, the location is great for boarding in Dover ... More than that you can not! Thanks Chris !!

    Genny2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What amazing value at Chris’ place. Fantastic communication from the start, welcoming host, local tips, great location, lovely breakfast spread and overall incredible value (I would pay double what she charges!) Would highly recommend.

  • Chris and Bob were very welcoming and their home is very beautiful. 100% recomended

    Ruben2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chris gave me a friendly welcome, comfortable room, nice clean bathroom next to my bedroom. I would definitely stay here again should I find reason to. We communicated well beforehand and Chris was attentive to me needing space to rest, yet she was available should I have needed anything extra (which I didn't). Scrummy yummy continental breakfast including fresh fruit salad, which I love. Gave clear local information I requested. Totally recommend. Thank you.

    Linda2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was so friendly and helpful. She gave us great recommendations of local places to eat, cheerfully helped us Americans with how to actually pronounce the names of cities, and told us where the best place to park was. Besides this, we loved staying at her home and everyone conversation with her was full of smiles and laughter. The private room and bathroom were clean and had everything we needed. We would stay with Chris again.

  • We highly recommend this lovely Airbnb with charming hosts, Lin and Mark. It is a spotlessly clean modern flat in an historic building and we loved that we had a separate garden from the quarters above. The kitchen and bathroom with large soaker tub are newly renovated and we enjoyed relaxing in this cosy haven at the end of each busy day. The use of the sauna is a nice option and we were sorry that we didn’t have time to use it during our visit to the Dover area. The flat is close to many attractions and there are several nearby that you can walk to. Our hosts provided good maps and other helpful information. A great place to stay!

    Sheryl2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lin was very accommodating. Her house is very homey, despite the bad weather I still enjoyed my time in her place. The sauna and the small cabin was great especially during the cold months. I wont hesitate to go back. Thank you Lin!

    Zandjiharah2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very much at home in your updated place. It had everything we could have needed and wanted and exceeded expectations on cleanliness. The train access to Dover was super close and easy. Thank you for being so friendly, accommodating, and dog friendly.

    Rana2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This flat is centrally located in Kent, easy driving distances to touring spots. The master bedroom is huge and would work very well for families with a small child sleeping in the same room. We particularly liked the cozy and sauna. Fur skins for comfort, awesome fire place, small fridge, music and quiz game. By far this was favourite part of our trip for our teen girls! Many thanks to Lin and Mark.

    Maryse2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat. We really enjoyed the sauna and firepit. We had a lovely day in Folkestone, visiting the Creative Quarter. And a good meal at the Lydden Bell. Thank you Lin and Mark for looking after us.

Our large detached house stands in 5 acres of grounds surrounded by open farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Kent Downs. Within half hour drive of Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and High Speed Rail to London takes under an hour.
If you like space around you and animals, you'll like it here! We have a very friendly dog who lives with us in the house, two ponies who live in our adjoining paddock, chickens which roam our grounds and provide us with amazing eggs and bees which of course provide us with delicious honey. We also have a very friendly cat who lives at our stables. We have one double room with en-suite bathroom, plus two other single rooms with standard sized 3' single beds (which can be made into two twins) with a shared private bathroom, so we can comfortably accommodate a family. Please note that this listing is for one single room - if you want to book multiple rooms or the double room please see the separate listings: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3014436 and 3014311 or let me know your requirements in your enquiry and I'll make you a special offer. Breakfast is included in the price and you can try our lovely free range eggs from our hens, along with cereals, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit in season/dried fruit, our own honey and homemade jams.
Wootton is a very small village, but with an active, sociable community. There are under 200 people who live here, but we have an ancient church and a beautiful wooden village hall which is used for village events and occasionally for weddings. Our nearest pub is the famous Jackdaw at Denton which is about a mile away down the hill. Our lovely single track lanes are surrounded by open farmland and are often used by cyclists, horseriders and walkers. If all the peace and quiet get too much however, we are within easy reach of the Kent coast as well as the historic city of Canterbury, and the high speed rail link from Folkestone gets you to London in under an hour.

  • I arrived in the evening after a long drive and was welcomed by Keith and his lovely dog. We had a great talk and a cup of tea. Then I sank into the (really comfortable) bed. On the next morning the sun woke me up and I had a view out of my window over the green meadows. I was served a delicious breakfast by Jo, with homemade eggs and honey. They gave me a lot of helpful tips for my further journey. Unfortunately I had to leave early, otherwise I would have enjoyed their beautiful garden. The area is very calm and perfect for a longer stay. I highly recommend to stay there.

  • Josephine and her husband were really nice. In the morning at 6 am (I had to leave that early) they prepared a delicious breakfast. I would stay there again.

  • I really enjoyed my stay. Josephine and her husband are committed to giving their guests a warm welcome. I felt like I was home away from home. A very tranquil surrounding. Ideal if you wish to unplug and connect to nature. My bedroom had east facing windows perfect to enjoy the sunrise😍.Breakfast was a real treat;) . I recommend this airbnb.

Welcome to our brand new one bedroom apartment set in the heart of the picturesque village of Temple Ewell. Our self-contained, self-catered Annexe is a home from home, in our own privately walled garden. Designed and built by us, it is an ideal retreat for a couple visiting Dover for a one-night stop over, a chilled weekend or an extended stay. It is conveniently located near the cross-channel ferry port, cruise terminal, channel tunnel and Kearsney Station. We can't wait to share it with you!
This bright, airy and brand new loft apartment is in a quiet location with its own private entrance. The apartment has 1 double bedroom with shower, sink and separate toilet. Towels are supplied. It has an open plan lounge/ kitchen diner with a sofa bed and fully equipped modern kitchen. Tea, coffee and milk are supplied. You will have the entire use of the flat, which includes its own private parking area and private compact garden and patio area. The flat is part of an annexe attached to a newly built detached house in the historic village of Temple Ewell. Therefore, it is simply a 5-minute stroll to the beautiful gardens at Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens. Our Annexe is close to the port of Dover and the Eurotunnel terminal. Additionally, it is only a 3 min walk from Kearsney railway station and there are direct HS1 trains to London from Dover Priory. If you do not fancy the train, a bus stop at the end of our road will get you Canterbury in 20 minutes.
We live in a picturesque and peaceful village. Our annexe is attached to our home but you will have access to your own private parking and garden, which catches both the morning and evening sun - a lovely place to enjoy your breakfast coffee or tea. There are many lovely walks, parks and great golf courses to explore. Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens are just a short walk away. Don’t forget to see the White Cliffs of Dover during your stay and take in their spectacular views. This area of South East Kent has many historical sites to visit, including Dover Castle, the Roman Painted House, Walmer and Deal Castle. The Fox, The Oak and The Cricketers are excellent local pubs- they are all within walking distance.

  • Well presented house in a beautiful and quiet hamlet. Has everything one needs. Would recommend and stay again.

  • Lovely cottage, very cosy and clean. Driveway is, as are the stairs, but Julie was very clear about this beforehand and it didn’t prove a problem at all. Very peaceful, with occasional moo-ing from across the road. Beds were comfortable and the cottage was well provided with anything you could want. Our teenage kids were relieved to find there was good WiFi! Lovely meal around the corner at the Lydden Bell too. We were attending a wedding at the Old Kent barn, which is about 3 miles away - just an 8 min journey away by car. Thanks Julie!

  • A lovely quiet, clean cottage that was ideal for us for one night as we attended a wedding reception at The Old Kent Barn (10 mins away in a taxi). Great communication with the host and no problems to report! Would definitely recommend!

  • A very comfortable stay for a pause walking the North Downs Way. The cottage was spotlessly clean. Lovely views across the valley. The excellent local pub, The Bell, is only 5 mins walk, serving delicious food. Tea (VERY welcome), coffee and sugar provided at the cottage but don't forget to bring own milk/food for breakfast. There's a Co-op about 2 miles away in Shepherdswell, open 7 days a week.

I host a large double room with fantastic views across Dover, it is 0.5 miles from the ferry port and walking distance to the town centre. If you are visiting Dover Castle this is the perfect location, the White Cliffs trail is also easy to access on foot. Parking is free outside & check-in from 12 midday. My apartment is within Victoria Park, a grand crescent of 26 houses built in the 1850s. Originally occupied by high ranking officers stationed at Dover Castle, the property is Grade II listed and very much a part of Dover's historic landscape.

  • Esther's lovely place, which abuts one of Dover's white cliffs, was a great place to stay. Her thoughtful touches were much appreciated, the location was perfect for hiking the cliffs and a short walk to the center of town, and she even left us candy and flowers for our anniversary. Highly recommend!

    Dino2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect for our short stay overnight in order to get a ferry. The ferry is a stone's throw away! Esther was great about our very late check in and early check out, which the self check-in was perfect for. Plus, when we arrived there were mini twix bars on the bed which were very much needed after a long journey so an added little treat! Thanks so much!

    Charlotte2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room with view to the ferry dock. Esther is really nice. I got some amazing tips what to see and where to eat.

Peaceful double room with a view of the Kent North Downs valley in my 1920s art-deco styled home. Room has a TV, wardrobe space and desk space. There is also access to a private large bathroom across the corridor, and a sauna (which is downstairs). Luxury bedding and a comfy sprung mattress. There is also another large double room I rent out on air bnb if you need an additional bedroom. See link below to listing of other room: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/29644304
One double bedrooms available for up to 2 guests with views of the North Downs. My home reflects my long career as an opera producer- with elegant posters, some designed by artist Ralph Steadman. The 'blue room' has a private bathroom including a bath and shower. Guests also have access to communal areas including a large dining and living room, fully equipped kitchen and a terraced garden spreading over 4 rising levels with beautiful views of the North Downs, as well as a front patio and courtyard at the back. The garden is lit up at night, a romantic spot to enjoy a glass of bubbly and watch the sunset. Guests can also use the sauna after a long day exploring the Kent downs, an area of outstanding beauty. (Use of the sauna would be an addition £10 fee to cover the heating price). There is also an additional dining space (so guest can have as much space as they choose) and a laundry room including a dryer.
The house is set back from a quiet road and is very peaceful at night. It is a short walk from the rolling valleys of the North Downs and nature reserves. Temple Ewell is a very pretty village; Kent known as ‘the Garden of England' has very picturesque villages and beautiful countryside. A 15 minute stroll from my house, through Temple Ewell village leads you to the historic Kearsney Gardens. There are also several local countryside pubs, either in walking distance or a short drive away. The Lydden Bell (in Lydden village a 10 min drive/bus journey) serves amazing food. Dover, 5 mins drive/bus journey away, has the historic Dover Castle up on the cliff top and two very good restaurants, the Marina Hotel and Hythe Bay Fish restaurant with panoramic views of the sea. There are also local takeaway restaurants close to my house, including a fish and chip shop and Indian. In Canterbury, also close by, the local Marlowe Theatre shows lots of big shows including musicals there's Canterbury Cathedral, canal boat rides and several delicious restaurants .
  • Ellen is a great host, there is nothing to complain about. She will do whatever she can to make your stay better and she has great stories about her awesome carreer. Her place is very beautiful and really confortable, pretty views and a wonderful garden. It is in a good location and close to the train station.

    Gustavo2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • A home away from home! A house that instantly touches your heart with a homely feeling. Ellen’s magical touch to the house, the interior and the endless world of Opera enrich your stay here. This stay is a testimonial to the fact that AirBNB is definitely a better option than a conventional hotel. Kudos to Ellen for her warm hospitality!!

    Mithun Nanjappa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal location to be quiet in an old village adorable. Three bus stops from Dover and from there, StageCoach buses take you all over Kent. Bus tickets for the day, very advantageous. But the most beautiful is waiting for you at Ellen's. Real journey in the world of the Opera. Ellen will offer you all her hospitality in her home, her splendid rooms, her upstairs gardens overlooking the peaceful Kent countryside. Here, everything bears the artistic and meticulous imprint of Ellen's experience. She will transport you behind the big posters of the most romantic operas she always organizes ... An unforgettable stay guaranteed.

    Claire2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a really great time! Ellen is extremely hospitable, helpful and smart. I stayed at her home for two nights with my boyfriend. She welcomed us warmly and also helped us to find a nice restaurant and gave us a life (because we had no car). You can be sure that she tries her best to make you feel comfortable. We had great conversations as well and there are also a lot of nice additional facilities. All in all this place is really lovely and I highly recommend this place! Btw. you can easily go to Dover or Canterbury by bus.

    Laura2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Ellen, warm welcome and interesting chats, plus, lots of lovely touches that helped make it a special place to have a break away

    Liz2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience overall - Ellen was a kind, caring and friendly host, very clean room and facilities, all essentials provided. She was really helpful and made sure each guest has what (s)he needs and has relaxing time whatever (s)he prefers to do. House decorated in a beautiful Art Deco style. Room has an exceptional view of the Kent Down, plus there is a spacious stepped garden with yet another breathtaking sunset view. Village is well connected to Dover, Canterbury etc. and great for hiking even if you don't have a car (like me).

    Nodoka2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • You will love everything about your stay with Ellen! We had a wonderful time. Great hospitality, location and breakfast! Everything was lovely.

    Megan2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We fully recommend this accomodation! It was clean, we had all we needed, the garden is very beautiful and Ellen is always a good company - very caring, she has a lot of interesting things to tell, you feel home very quickly! The surrounding is quite calm, but one can reach the Center of Dover and other nice villages easily.

Port of Dover ~ 15 minutes by car Eurotunnel ~ 25 minutes by car On the North Downs Way too for walkers. Note: A teenager, two dogs and one cat live in the house.
Welcome to my home. A detached house with on street parking. The twin room that is available overlooks the garden at the rear of the property so is light and airy most of the day.
Shepherdswell is a semi-rural quaint English village sat on the North Downs Way. We have the following amenities in shepherdswell - A small co-op supermarket (5 minutes walk from my home). Jenna2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • At 37, I thought I might be too old to stay in a hostel. Jeffrey’s place proved me wrong. It is clean, quiet and friendly. It has the best shower pressure in the UK! I always felt safe, and he suggested some great restaurants for dinner. Chilling in his pub was cool, too. I had lots of fun talking to the locals, and Jeffrey provided some great stories about the area and English Channel swimmers. The beer is great and the prices more than fair.

  • As a timid little Canadian man embittered & broken by 3 years living in London, I was seeking a brief escape to prevent the frayed, anxiety-ridden final thread of my sanity from breaking completely. I came to Dover to look into my mum's side of the family, & find a possible writer's retreat to complete a book I'm commissioned to write about my London experiences. Jeff's place came up in the accommodations list, and the only one I gave serious consideration to. Dover, and Les Fleurs, proved to be the tonic I needed. Even before checking in, I treated myself to a breakfast at the cafe down the road. I mentioned Les Fleurs and was treated like royalty. My stay at Les Fleurs was even better. The stress melted away and I slept better than I'd slept in months. Jeff was a helluva great host, and I can't sing his praises enough. I will definitely be back -if only to start looking into a more permanent stay in Dover. If you only stay at one place this year, stay at Les Fleurs. You won't be disappointed.

    Peter2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was perfect for a quick trip into Dover to explore the white cliffs! Jeff was extremely accommodating and friendly and made you fee right at home.

  • As a previous poster say, do not hesitate to stay at this hostel. This is by far one of the nicest hostiles I have stayed in the rooms were clean, the beds were large and comfortable. My daughters and I were hiking through portions of Kent and this was our second to. last stop, it was also one of the best locations that we stayed in. Jeff is a fantastic and entertaining host, makes you feel right at home and at ease. The location is central to downtown area about a 30 minute walk to the Cliffs. You can spend time up in the sleeping area or while the night away in Jeff great pub. the decor in the rooms is stylish, and the pub has so much character and warmth you won't want to leave. Great place, great value, great host!

  • If you're waivering on where to stay, just stop and book this place. Jeff is awesome, the rooms are comfortable, and the bar is outstanding. Make sure you are juiced up though because the bed areas do not all have electrical sockets (though they are available in the common areas). Great stay!

The location is great as well, right in front of the white cliffs and you can see the English channel from the house. It is lovely and would recommend if you need a room to sleep.

A family home with guest annexe (ground floor), accessed through main house. Private parking. Children and Pet friendly. Very close to Kearsney train station with really easy access to Dover and Canterbury. 1x Double bed (included in price) for 2 guests sharing ***Extra costs*** *Extra guests cost £5 per night. Pull-out sofa bed available for extra guests. *A third, small pull out single bed could be included if requested. *Any pets (£5 one off payment each pet. Fee not included)
Our modern family home with annexe is situated in the historic village of Temple Ewell. Being very close to the busy port of Dover and the Eurotunnel terminal, but far enough away to enjoy the scenic and peaceful Kent Downs, we have the best of both worlds in terms of location. We have a young family (2 boys), so we are perfectly placed to accomodate those also with children. Our children will not disturb your visit. We also have a dog (Golden Retriever) and we are also willing to allow dogs to stay, but they must be well behaved and house trained. Please note there is a £5 additional fee for each pet (one off payment). This payment is not included in the booking, and will require another payment after original booking. There are lots of local activities and things to do, or if you're just passing through to/from France, this is the perfect stop. Canterbury, and its beautiful cathedral, is close by. The green and rolling Kent Downs are on our doorstep. So come and enjoy the part of Dover most visitors sadly never see.
Located in the Kent Downs, we have rolling countryside and parkland near by, including Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens. Good for dog walkers and ramblers. There is a pub within walking distance ("The Fox"). There is also a convenience shop 250 metres away. Our home is situated on a small quiet road.
  • Sonya´s place and her family is absolutely awesome! I had a really great time and thanks to their accomodation I had an easy week for doing my course in Whitfield. The place is very quiet and clean with everything you need. Little snacks in the kitchenet included which was very nice. House is located 3 minutes from Kearsney railway station which is great if you have to walk with your luggage, you hop on the train which is going straight to London Victoria Station. There is also bus stop 2 minutes from the house. You can actually walk to Whitfield (Tesco) which is 15 minutes away. There are some little groceries shops near. Anyway, I definitely recommend Sonya & Chris and hopefuly I will see them again in future. Many thanks for letting me stay for a whole week! :) Kevin

Welcome to Blandred Farm Shepherd’s Hut, a luxury camping experience in the idyllic village of Acrise, an area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’. If you’re looking for a getaway to escape the everyday and indulge yourself in panoramic views, open sky sunsets and the tranquillity of the Kent countryside, then we invite you to experience this for yourselves.
Blandred Farm is both a working farm and home to our family who have owned this farm for almost 50 years but have been farming for generations. Here on our farm we are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by breath-taking landscapes ranging from sloping hills, endless natural grasslands, rich woodlands and an unspoilt coastline only a 15-minute drive from the Shepherd’s hut. We also are hugely enthusiastic about the natural world and wildlife and so are extremely proud to share our home with a diverse range of plants, animals and insects. The fields, hedgerows and trees are commonly home to owls, hares, hedgehogs, pheasants and butterflies to name just a few. Whilst our hut follows the traditional design that has been used by shepherds for hundreds of years, we have also kitted it out with a few simple luxuries for your added comfort. Our hut features: A comfy double bed  An en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and heated towel rail A glass-fronted log burner  A two ring electric hob A fridge A Kadai Fire Pit® with grill and skillet for barbecuing  Also provided: Towels 100% linen bedding Logs for wood burner and fire pit  Washing up liquid, sponges, tea towels Salt, pepper and cooking oil Cooking equipment and utensils Cutlery and crockery Kettle and cafetiere Toaster Jars of tea, instant coffee and ground coffee Milk To make the most of the beautiful surrounding scenery we decided to add an adjoining raised deck, seating two chairs and a table. Not only has it doubled the floor space, it also has created the perfect spot to dine or unwind on a warm evening, treating you to a panoramic view of the accompanying landscape and the sunset.
Despite being tucked away in the peacefulness of the countryside, we are only an approximately 20 minute drive from the historic city of Canterbury, a 12 minute drive from the coastal town of Folkestone, and 15 minutes from the port of Dover.  We are also very fortunate to be surrounded by an abundance of footpaths and cycling routes, making for wonderful walking adventures or cycle rides. We are spoilt with a wide range of places to eat from local country pubs to all kinds of restaurants in the nearby towns and city. Our local pub, The Jackdaw, is located in the heart of the village of Denton, a charming, popular and traditional country pub that is only an approximately 8 minute drive from the hut.
  • A lovely stay at the farm! Beautiful location! Annie was very friendly and helpful! Cute and cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable! Lovely walks! What more could you ask for :)

    Elise2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our one night stay here - the hut was cosy and well equipped with everything you'd need for a short break. We were given some milk and butter along with tea/coffee etc which meant we had all the basics. Annie was there to greet us when we arrived to make sure we knew where everything was etc. The location is fairly rural but only a short drive from Canterbury which was ideal for us. We hope to stay again one day - thank you Annie!

    Hannah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was a truly incredible experience. We went for my partners birthday, and couldn't have been happier. From the log fire, to the special birthday note and chocolates, it managed to surpass all of our expectations. Nestled on a quiet farm, you soon get a sense of calm and relaxation. There was something very special about being all cozied up in the cabin with the log fire on during a rainy evening. A trip that we will never forget :)

  • It was my second stay in this exceptional shepherdshut. The weather was awful and there was a lot of rain and wind. Although, I had an excellent time. You can burn a woodstove but they provide also a small electric heater. There is a lot of comfort and lovely detail in this hut. The host is fantastic. Always there with a big smile and very accurate. Look forward to my next stay.

  • An amazing stay in the Shepard’s Hut.. unfortunately, the weather wasn’t the best but the views were lovely! The little hut is the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life and it’s tucked right out of the way so feels like a lovely little escape. • We had such a great weekend at the hut! It was an ideal escape from London. Annie greeted us when we arrived and left us to it along with a few tips of locals pubs etc. Would definitely recommend and go back.

  • If you are looking for the best of tiny living, than you should come to this Shepherdshut. The cabin appears in stunning views, is very tidy and handy (shower and toilet in the cabin) and with a very practical kitchen. At night, it almost looks unreal, so beautiful with the outside small lights. Annie is a truly a superhost. She is a beautiful young lady who communicate extremely well and is really available. I can not wait to come back here.

  • The location of the house is very good, 10 minutes walk from the center of Dover, 20 minutes from the castle, the landlord is very good, communicates smoothly, loves to chat, the bedroom is clean and comfortable, the bathroom is large, there is a simple breakfast, you can use the landlord's kitchen and kitchenware, there are two Cute children and two cats.

    2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • It's a nice house with nice people. We had some good talks and we got some advice to find stuff in Dover. The extra reminder about the Dartford crossing was also really appreciated! Overall a great place to stay!

  • Great room and amazing hospitality.

  • Thank you very much Samantha for this wonderful welcome! Very spacious room, comfortable and very clean! A pleasure to speak French with Samantha who was a very attentive host! We will come back

    Jeanne2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, very kind and friendly hosts, awesome heated swimming pool (even in the dark).

  • Samantha and Will are warm hearted and friendly. We chatted a lot though it was a short stay. The room is spacious and the bed is large. The house is located just by the train station and not far from the castle. I am thankful to Samantha and Will.

    Bin2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Samantha and Will's was excellent. The room is large and very comfortable. They made me welcome in every aspect of my stay, including letting me take over their kitchen to make my meal. They have a lot of knowledge on places to go (and places not to go) as you travel Engalnd. I was part of their family while I was their.

Our large detached house stands in 5 acres of grounds surrounded by open farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Kent Downs. Within half hour drive of Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and High Speed Rail to London.
If you like space around you and animals, you'll like it here! We have a very friendly dog who lives with us in the house, two ponies who live in our adjoining paddock, chickens which roam our grounds and provide us with amazing eggs and bees which of course provide us with delicious honey. We also have a very friendly young cat who lives at our stables. We have one double room with en-suite bathroom, plus two other single rooms with standard sized 3' single beds (which can be made into two twins) with a shared private bathroom, so we can comfortably accommodate a family. Please note that this listing is for one single room - if you want to book multiple rooms or the double please visit separate listings: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3014436 and 3951532 or let me know your requirements and I'll make you a special offer.
  • An absolute pleasure. The breakfast was abundant, varied and Josephine and Keith were really friendly. The village is lovely and the village Hall a dream! Congratulations and all the best.

  • It's in the country and its quiet. It has access to several villages and to Canterbury. It's very comfortable and the hosts are friendly and generous. It was perfect for my trip. I hope to do it again.

    David2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for tranquility, nature, pure air, organic eggs (fresh laid), organic bread (fresh baked), organic tomatos (self grown), other vegetables and salad, own honey and the best coffee! The most lovely people, dogs, chicken and horses. Chill out in the hammocks or hang out on the sofas in the evenings with Keith and Josephine. Breakfast is served as whished, conversations are easy going, recommendations are perfect, in short: you don't want to stay anywhere else. I met six other guests (3 from Texas, 3 from UK), just as lovable as our hosts. We enjoyed each other and at the same time also to go our own ways. Perfect balance. The only thing you will miss, is: time to stay longer.

    Diana2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jo is a great host, very friendly and helpful. The house is convenient for Dover but located in a tranquil village. Pleasant, clean room. Beautiful garden where the hens that lay your breakfast roam free! Highly recommended.

    Marilyn2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I found both Josephine & her husband Keith very friendly & easy to talk to. Lovely people, lovely house, beautiful location and a very friendly dog. I found other guests that I met polite & friendly. Very good first experience as never used Airbnb before but with this experience will definitely use again and highly recommend to friends & family.

  • Great place for a quiet stay in beautiful surroundings, yet really handy for the Eurotunnel. Jo and Keith are great hosts and couldn’t have made me more welcome. Local pub The Jackdaw is about a mile away and does very good food.

My home is situated in the quaint semi-rural village of Shepherdswell. We are well located just off the A2 with easy road and rail access to both Canterbury and Dover. So ideal if you just want a place to stopover for the night before heading overseas or somewhere to use as a base for exploring "The Garden of England". Port of Dover ~ 15 minutes by car Eurotunnel ~ 25 minutes by car On the North Downs Way too for walkers. Note: A teenager, two dogs and one cat live in the house.
Welcome to my home. A detached house with on street parking. The double room that is available overlooks the front garden at the front of the property so is sunny and light most of the day.
Shepherdswell is a semi-rural quaint English village sat on the North Downs Way. We have the following amenities in shepherdswell - A small co-op supermarket (5 minutes walk from my home). A main line train station (5 minute walk from my property) - access to Dover/Folkestone/Ashford & London in one direction and in the opposite direction is access to Canterbury/Faversham & London. A large recreational ground with a children’s play park. The Bell Inn - local pub (doesn’t serve food at present). The Tipsy Gardener- local pub (doesn’t serve food at present). There are some take away food outlets in neighbouring villages which do offer a delivery service to Shepherdswell. East Kent Light Railway - You can take a ride on the train to the neighbouring village of Eythorne. (some locomotives are steam powered but not all).
  • Friendly greeting, comfortable warm bed, excellent and copious breakfast. Only minutes away from the A2.

  • Susanna and the beagles instantly make you feel at home and relaxed. The house is stylish, clean and welcoming--lovely sheets! You can cook, hang out in the garden, join the fun downstairs, or retreat to the privacy of your room with television and DVD's to watch, good wifi. Refreshing shower, great kitchen. Breakfast is wonderful: plenty of fresh fruit along with cereals, etc. Location is idyllic--with a short train ride to either Canterbury or Dover with other villages en route such as Kearsney, where one can catch a bus. I recommend plus bus for this part of Kent. I very much look forward to returning!

  • It was sooo kind of Susanna to pick me up at the coach station and also take me to Canterbury when I missed my train. It was sooo nice to stay with her and her son Lewis. I didn't expect I could have such a wonderful experience here!! What's more, puppies are really friendly. They always gave me a warm welcome in the morning when I got up and in the evening when I came back. I would really like to live here again!!!

Peaceful double room with balcony and an en-suite bathroom in my 1920s art-deco styled home. French windows open onto a balcony with a view of the Kent North Downs valley. Double bed, luxury bedding and comfy mattress. Room has a TV, wardrobe space & dressing table. There's an en-suite bathroom. There is also a sauna available to use. An additional double room next to this one that can also be rented out, which has it's own bathroom, link below: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/30003427
One double bedrooms available for up to 2 guests. My home reflects my long career as an opera producer- with elegant posters, some designed by artist Ralph Steadman. The 'pink room' has an en-suite, and balcony with views.
Dover, 5 mins drive/bus journey away, has the historic Dover Castle up on the cliff top and good restaurants including Hythe Bay Fish restaurant with panoramic views of the sea. There are also local takeaway restaurants close to my house, including a fish and chip shop and Indian. In Canterbury, also close by, the local Marlowe Theatre shows lots of big shows including musicals, there is Canterbury Cathedral and tons of really good restaurants.
  • Very good bed, beautiful view and nice located house. We definitely recommend this :)!
