Daisy Lodge is set in the garden of our beautiful country home, see location photo for proximity to our home. We are 3.2 miles from the wonderful market town of Abergavenny, gateway to the Beacons National Park. We have amazing views of Skirrid Mountain and countryside. You can roam freely around our 5 acres of land/garden,which in summer benefits from a flower meadow. We supply outside furniture and sole use of our external hot tub, all year around, a disclaimer to be signed prior to use.
Please do not ask for less than a 2 night stay as it's not possible to accommodate this request. We offer storage for cycles, we can lend you maps and give personal knowledge of the local bike parks and activities in the area. Daisy Lodge is a beautiful 1-bedroom bespoke, ecological building, which is energy efficient and produced in Lapland, Finland. The property benefits private access, off road parking and is finished to 5* standard, with the use of a hot-tub all year round, providing a waiver has been signed. We have installed a brand new and improved hot tub for 2019. Please do NOT adjust the settings on the hot-tub or move or close any of the jets. We provide designer bedding, bath robes, smart TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble Dryer, luxury shower, mobile reception for most providers and breath-taking views. We also provide an external sink to clean boots and a boot rack, and deck shoes if required. There is also a bioethanol fire, we provide the first bottle of fuel if you require more you will need to purchase prior to your arrival, as no local stockists.
We are very lucky to be located next to a working farm and so we have Cows, sheep and horses as part of our everyday scenery.
  • If this place isn't booked up you'll be lucky. And there is a reason for that......its very, very nice. Modern and sleek but cosy and peaceful. In the middle of beautiful countryside, its so relaxing. Very clean, comfy with milk and butter in the fridge upon arrival and a cute little bottle of prosecco, all nice touches. So book if you can, you won't regret it.

  • We booked Daisy Lodge for a little weekend getaway and had a wonderful time there. I can only recommend it. The lodge was spot clean and we had everything what we needed.

  • Claire's place is as beautiful, if not better than the photos. The interior is modern, spacious and very comfortable. They are located amongst fabulous scenery (and down the road to a michelin star restaurant!) and our stay was very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the hot water was not working for the first evening/morning of our stay, but the hosts made up for it with it being fixed fast and a half-day extension to the end of our stay.

  • Excellent accommodation, super hosts, beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

    Helen2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is done to a very high standard, to the extent we enjoyed staying in more than going out. Both hosts were helpful and attentive and made our stay special. Thank you.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I will definitely be coming back as this place is a little cozy gem. Close to a lot of attractions or just a good place to relax.

  • Beautiful accommodation in a gorgeous setting. The lodge was stylish and spotless with all of the lovely extra touches you could ask for. There wasn’t a thing we needed that Claire & Justin hadn’t thought to supply. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend!

    Kayleigh2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time, Claire and Justin were great hosts and the hot tub was an extra special treat. I would definitely reccomend daisy lodge for a romantic get away.

Even though the weather was stormy we still sat out in the hot tub watching the rain. Just what we needed!

  • I can't comment on the glamping pod as we were upgraded (thank you!) to the railway carriage. The carriage was lovely. It included a shower and toilet with heaters which definitely helped during our cold and wet November night stay. The hot tub was spot on. We went for food in the local pub (which was about a 5 minute walk) and it served lovely pub grub. Would definitely recommend staying here to friends and family! Thanks for a great stay!

An amazing self contained romantic glamping space with wonderful views across the valley to be enjoyed from the cosy inside or relax in the wood-fired hot tub adjacent. If you're looking to escape from the real world and switch off from technology then this place is for you. There is no lock key. Located perfectly for exploring the Black Mountains & Brecon Beacons with amazing places to discover & fantastic scenery. Double bed, sofa, en-suite shower, kitchenette (hob, microwave, sink & fridge).
Our Pod is set in a private location with uninterrupted views across the valley towards the mountains of Wales, which can be enjoyed from the seating provided on the porch, or from the cosiness of inside. It is a wonderfully organised, self-contained unit, accommodating double bed, en-suite shower room with toilet and sink, kitchen area and sofa. We provide all bed linen, towels, cutlery and crockery. There is a kettle, saucepan, frying pan and utensils for your use. We offer no shared facilities, and the hot tub is situated immediately adjacent to The Pod in a private secluded location.
The local neighbourhood offers a true getaway from busy lives, with local pub, shop and many beautiful walks and fantastic scenery. We are a very rural area, with limited mobile and 4G coverage which means you can truly switch off. The closest supermarkets are 20-30 minutes drive away.

  • A lovely spot overlooking some stunning scenery. Extremely responsive and helpful from the minute we booked till the minute we left. The hot tub was just magical under the stars. The pod was extremely clean and had absolutely everything we needed to make the most out of the weekend. Cannot recommend enough.

  • Rob and Sophie's place is absolutely lovely. They are generous and kind hosts that are available if you need anything, but give you your own space as well! The location is also awesome for hiking in the local area :)

    Hannah2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • WOW!! looking for peace & quiet? the perfect couples break? somewhere to just sit back, relax and enjoy the view? this is the perfect place. Perfectly sized, clean and well thought out. Plenty of room for cooking, book reading and sleeping. The bed is SO comfy and the spa shower is an amazing add on (although make sure to turn the spa jets on AFTER the door is closed hahahaha). Anyways, we booked super last minute but both Rob & Sophie were so kind and lovely through our stay. They very kindly also lent us some oil to cook with. Lots nearby with a small drive and beautiful views. Hot tub is an amazing add on too and was very kindly lit for our arrival by the hosts. Perfect in the summer or winter, as underfloor heating keeps the whole pod toasty. Bed lifts up for clever storage and has everything you need from cooking essentials to books to read. Will 100% be staying here again and will recommend it to everyone!! 10/10 thankyou so much guys xx

  • Absoloutely loved our stay at the pod! Beautiful place to spend a few days away. Thank you x

    Evie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have had a better stay over the New Year. The location is remote and we cooked our own meals most nights but that was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to switch off for a few days. Hot tub is great and Sophie pre-lit it for us for when we arrived. Would definitely stay again.

    Laura2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time in the pod, the views were absolutely stunning and the cat was adorable!

    Mackenzie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The pod is in an idyllic location with stunning views across the valley and of the mountain. It's very peaceful and provides the perfect location to unwind. Rob & Sophie are brilliant and the pod has everything you could want for your stay.

  • This is our third time staying at Jacqui and Daves. We absolutely love this place!!! The cabin has everything you need with plenty of added touches which make it feel extra homely. We had tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh orange juice as well as toast and jams. There was even a box of salted caramel chocolate match sticks for us to share which was lovely. We always tend to visit in the winter and the cabin is nice and warm with the heater but there are also hot water bottles provided and water in the kettle if needed. Last but not least by far the best part about our stay is their beautiful dog Barney he is so friendly and always greets me for a cuddle om arrival and in the morning. He is adorable. This place is great and we will be back again soon no doubt about that. X

    Gabby2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and people, great advice on where to get food and Barney is lovely!!

  • It is obvious from our stay that jacqui and dave had implemented what ever they could to make their guests stay as best it can be. Nothing was too much trouble . The guest house was perfect for a relaxing and extremely comfortable stay. I will certainly be recommending this guest house and the service jacqui and dave provided at every opportunity. We can't wait to return

    David2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Wow wow wow! What a gorgeous little space. You can smell now clean it is as soon as you walk in. Fresh sheets and the bed was made beautifully. Some lovely chocolate was left out for me as well as a selection of jams, fresh milk and plenty of tea and coffee! Just the small touches such as hot water bottles, a microwave and kettle and a dressing gown for those midnight toilet trips! I was so over the moon with this stay I will definitely be going again! Both Jacqui and her partner were lovely and best of all was the gorgeous Barney, their little spaniel ❤️

A newly renovated cottage in the grounds of a country house close to Abergavenny & the beautiful Black Mountains. Stylishly designed, it retains the stone walls, beams & arched windows of the coach house it once was. It's the perfect place to relax after a day in the Welsh countryside: There's a well equipped kitchen, a cosy wood burner (with a basket of logs & kindling), a smart TV, wifi, lots of books, 100% cotton bed linen, fluffy cotton towels & SenSpa bathroom products. Outside, the kitchen garden is a great place to chill & there's also a private courtyard right next to the cottage.
Court Cottage was once part of the stable yard of the country house to which it belongs. We have recently refurbished it - turning it into a lovely cottage that retains the original roof beams, stone walls, arched windows and doors. Outside, there is plenty of private space - including a pretty courtyard next to the main house, with a table and chairs. Guests can also use the South facing kitchen garden - where there's a bench that's a great place to read a book or take in the views of rolling countryside. There's space to store bikes under cover and an outside tap to wash down bikes, boots and wellies. Inside, you walk straight into the sitting room, which is open to the roof eaves. It has two comfy sofas piled with cushions, a wood burner for chillier days, a digital TV & DVD player, a selection of board games and lots of books & local guides. Through the old pine double doors is the cosy bedroom, with its large arched window and beamed ceiling. It has a king size bed with pure cotton bed linen and a blanket woven from local wool. The bedroom has plenty of hanging space and a chest of drawers (and lots of room under the bed for suitcases etc). There's a digital radio on one of the bedside tables, usb plug sockets and also a hair dryer. Next door is the stylish en-suite bathroom, with a roll-top bath and separate shower. White cotton towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and shower gel are provided. There's a socket for electric toothbrushes or shavers. The kitchen leads off the sitting room. It has painted cupboards and a marble worktop, together with a kitchen table for two. There are two usb sockets near the table, making it perfect for working as well as eating. A large antique pine storage cupboard houses everything you'll need to cook up a feast (or microwave a ready meal...). There is a microwave, induction hob & oven, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and washing machine. Tea, instant coffee and sugar are provided - and there's also a cafetiere if you're a real coffee aficionado. There’s also salt & pepper and olive oil. We also provide a clothes drying rack, iron and ironing board as well as tea towels, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. There is wifi throughout the cottage. There is central heating throughout & we also provide a first basket of logs & kindling for the wood burner.
Abergavenny, renowned both for its Food Festival and as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons & Black Mountains, is 4 miles away. There you'll find local shops, a really good butcher and bakery, as well as a great local cinema and some of the best restaurants in Wales. For wonderful walks & cycling, you're spoilt for choice: the Sugar Loaf & Skirrid mountains are very close by, as is the famous Offas Dyke Path.
  • It’s nothing that hasn’t been said before, but what a beautiful place. Quaint setting in a courtyard, peaceful, quiet and tastefully decorated. There’s also a huge stockpile of firewood to keep cosy. Absolutely recommend! (Maybe just take slippers in the colder months as the stone floor can feel cold!)

    Sophie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Well designed and incredibly tasteful. The location was very peaceful. I would highly recommend it and will definitely return.

    Helen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay at this stunning cottage. Perfect for us for our birthday weekend. Cosy, beautifully decorated with a luxurious feel.

    Lucy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cottage - spotless throughout with great bath and shower. Comfy bed and lovely linen. Had a nice time relaxing after walking the nearby peaks. Plenty of places to eat nearby or stock up on food for the cottage. Very easy to find. Thoughtful hosts. Would recommend.

    Penny2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay at Joanna's beautiful cottage. As the weather wasn't amazing, we mainly stayed in, and felt really at home doing so. There was plenty of wood for the fire provided, the kitchen was amazingly well equipped meaning we could spend lots of time cooking, and the entire place was just really comfortable and cosy. The bath and shower we're lovely - it was very hard to leave!

    Emily2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful, even better than it appears on the photos. Joanna was also a great host who was easy to get hold of should we need anything. Location-wise there were plenty of shops (Aldi, Waitrose) and restaurants about a 10minute drive away and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. There were a variety of local walks a short distance from the cottage, we drove a bit further afield into the Brecon Beacons national park to the four waterfalls walk which was about a 50-minute drive. I'd recommend this AirBnB and would happily come back.

    Greg2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Every detail well thought out and meticulously executed. A thoroughly wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country andJoanna ensured we had everything we needed for a perfect trip.

    Ed2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for our first Christmas together and we cannot fault the airbnb or Joanna in any way. When we arrived, it was spotless, tidy and welcoming. She even sent us a message to ensure we had enough kitchen utensils to make our Christmas lunch the next day (we absolutely did, the kitchen is very well stocked!). It was a very special place to spend Christmas, and the grounds it's situated on are absolutely gorgeous. We went for a walk around the gardens and it was teeming with woodland wildlife (including the odd pheasant or two). Most importantly, it was absolutely silent! A perfect place to go if you want to get away from the city and hide away for a weekend, or ideally longer. This is an airbnb where the pictures really do not lie. I highly recommend booking a trip so you can see it for yourself. Worth every penny. Side note: my girlfriend accidentally left an item behind, and Joanna soon arranged for it to be sent back to us!

Just 10 minutes by car from Abergavenny but a peaceful country retreat. Simple, modern log cabin with open plan sitting/kitchen/dining with double sofa bed & a double bedroom and bathroom. Away from it all: 50 metres from the farmhouse, away from the road and screened by trees. There are board games, books, toys etc. Garden furniture for sitting out. Farm to wander over. Animals to see. Good places to eat out. Walking in the hills.
The cabin is in the back garden screened by trees from the house. It looks out over fields and gardens. There is one bedroom with a double bed and a sofa that turns into a good size double in the main living space. The kitchen has a fridge, kettle, toaster, small oven/grill, two ring induction hob (new in response to guest feedback). Lots of bowls, pans, plates, cups etc. Please ask if you need anything else. We provide a few cooking essentials like salt and pepper, mixed herbs and sugar. In the bedroom is a full length mirror, hair dryer, iron, lots of hooks for hanging clothes up and some shelves. The bathroom has shower, toilet and basin and a heated towel rail. We provide towels. A travel cot and a high chair are available. The accommodation may suit a couple, a couple with one or two children, or two couples. Wi-Fi is available in the conservatory in the farmhouse or it can be accessed from outside when its warmer. Mobile phone signals are erratic--some people get much better reception than others. The thick pine wood walls offer excellent insulation. Electric heating and electric blanket are available if needed so the cabin can be used all year.
The farm is set in a valley just 10 minutes out of Abergavenny but a world away from the town. We are near the Brecon Beacons National Park and surrounded by farm land where traditional dairy, beef and sheep farms are interspersed with holdings for horses and some chicken farms. There are lots of possibilities for walking, cycling, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities locally in the Brecon Beacons and the surrounding countryside. There's a cycle/walking tarmac path up an old railway line leading from Llanffoist to Bryn Mawr (with a gap). It's easy to walk to Govilon up this track then walk back along the canal towpath to Llanffoist. There’s a short walk to the top of the Little Skirrid directly from the farm. Abergavenny is a lively country town. The main market is on Tuesdays. It's worth visiting the Market Hall just to see the huge decorations which go up each year for the Food Festival. Smaller markets happen over the week. There are quite a few independent shops, loads of places to have coffee, some good places to eat. There's a small, modern two screen cinema (for an old fashioned cinema feel try the Savoy in Monmouth or the Working Men's Club in Blaenavon). The attractive 300+ seat Borough Theatre is housed upstairs from the Market Hall.
  • The cabin is great! And the location is really good! Lots of great places to visit and the landscape is fantastic

    Oscar2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin had everything you need to relax and unwind for a few days, lovely country walks right on the doorstep with Abergavenny only a few minutes drive away. Tessa is a fantastic host and was very welcoming-we would definitely stay again!

    Jodi2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place very cozy and sparkling clean. Tessa and Chris were amazing hosts. Our little one loved the farm animals. We would love to stay again.

  • A place to relax and enjoy. Our boys want to come back.

    Gregor2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in Tessa's cabin, it was clean, plenty of games, outdoor space for kids and Tessa was an excellent host.

    Lenka2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A basic but cosy cabin with everything you need. The board games and books kept us entertained in the evening, and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect for the areas we were visiting. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Wendy2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin for a weekend with our two daughters ages 17months and 3weeks. The cabin was toddler friendly, there is a swing and slide in the garden and Tessa kindly provided a travel cot, there are also some toys and books that were an unexpected bonus! There was plenty of space for us all and everything we needed to have a relaxing time. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and we had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend for families with young children who want a quiet getaway that is toddler friendly.

    Jerilyn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place for our family to spend the weekend! The cabin is open and bright, and we all slept well. We made good use of the little kitchen - it worked brilliantly for our simple supper. The farm is beautiful and our children (all of us, really) were in love with everything. Our hosts very kindly invited us to participate in a few of the more fun farm chores, and we said yes to every opportunity! One afternoon we drove the few minutes into charming Abergavenny, and the children wanted nothing to do with it because they wanted to get back to the farm. A wonderful place to stay! Highly recommended!

Dating back to 1752 this rustic Granary has been sympathetically converted to retain its original features. Perfect for chilling out or walking, set in our family farmland with direct access to Offas Dyke footpath. Dramatic high ceiling oak beamed bedroom with ensuite. Cosy low beamed kitchen/diner with wood burning stove. The sunroom/lounge makes the very most of natural sunlight with rural farm views.
The dramatic high oak beamed ceiling of the bedroom provides a unique space combined with the modern convenience of an ensuite bathroom. The cosy kitchen/diner (originally where corn was ground in 1752), has a range of modern kitchen appliances including coffee machine. The wood burning stove is available for romantic evenings in and the sun room/lounge makes the most of sunny days.
The nearest village is about a three minute drive away or a pleasant twenty minute stroll across the fields. The local village pub has a great restaurant or bar meals and is open every day.
  • My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautifully unique barn conversion. The space was spotlessly clean and has all the necessary amenities. Fresh bread, jams and butter were provided (delicious, thanks!) as well as tea, coffee and fresh milk. The log burner made the space really warm and cosy as it was a chilly night. The hosts were very welcoming and were on hand to help with anything we needed. A very peaceful and relaxing stay in the Welsh countryside, I highly recommend staying here!

  • The Granary is a great place in a beautiful location. Caroline was a fantastic host and even lit the log burner for us! The Granary has everything you need for a relaxing stay with stunning views. Would highly recommend 😁

  • Sue’s place was great. Just as shown on Airbnb. The fire was a treat and the conservatory great for watching the night sky. Lovely all round - highly recommended.

  • Thank you so much for our lovely stay, all we wanted was peace, quiet, and beautiful surroundings which we got, the log burner kept us cosy and we had everything that we needed. Would 100% recommend ♥️

  • A great host, great place, great location. What else is there to say!? Will definitely stay again!

  • We travelled to The Granary in ‘Storm Dennis’ and so very glad we did. It was warm, cosy, spotlessly clean and filled with character. Caroline came over to welcome us, she is absolutely lovely and made us feel so at home. Fantastic location for walking from the door, across owners land to Offa’s Dyke trail past the very vocal donkey 😀 but we spent hours in the spacious sun room enjoying the antics of the hens, the sheep and the hawks soaring overhead. On a clear night we gazed through the roof at the amazing dark skies....incredible!! This place exceeded all our expectations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    David2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t arrive until around 7pm. The host came out to greet us and explained what was in the house. She had already lit the fire so we were toasty warm straight away which was really thoughtful. There were also roses on the bed as it was Valentines weekend and roses in vases. The pub down the road we were recommended was brilliant. The pictures don’t do the place justice. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. Perfect for a couples night away. :)

  • A beautiful quaint cottage with a personable touch. Gina is possibly one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever met and we travel a lot. It’s lovely to see just how much Gina takes pride in the cottage and the guests are very much forefront. We arrived to goodies, vino, chocolate, the best peach jam I’ve ever tasted, crisps (needless to say this didn’t last the night) and some gravy bones for our dogs. The cottage was toasty warm, beautifully presented and very much felt like home from home. The hot tub was a lovely touch, though the blistering winds not so much. The local chip shop was pretty good too. We were meaning to ask what cruise ship you went on?! A slideshow appeared as a TV screensaver, it looked lovely! We’ve done a few ourselves and love it! Thank you for having us <3

  • We would definately recommend this as a perfect place to get away from the busyness of life. We went to the Potting Shed for 3 nights with our small Spaniel and hibernated from the world. There was no signal on phones in the accomodation so no phone distractions. While we were there the weather was quite stormy but the Potting Shed was lovely and bright and warm inside and felt very cosy in the evenings. When we ventured out for a walk there was lots of fields surrounding for the dog to run around in. The kitchen was well equipped so we had everything needed to stay in and cook meals, although there was a very nice looking pub about 30second walk away. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you Brenda! Pip, Dan and Daisy x

  • This has become our favourite retreat spot now, we absolutely loved our stay here and wished we could’ve stayed longer. The Potting Shed is stylish and cosy. The kitchen had all the stuff we’d need to cook for ourselves, but there’s also a lovely pub at the end of the lane that serve great food and beers & wine. We can’t wait to be back!

    Johanna2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing beautiful space...in an amazing beautiful place. Such attention to detail with beautiful little luxurious touches...including the delicious Welsh cakes...such a treat! • I don't know where to begin - The Old Dairy was more than we could have hoped for for our relaxing New Years getaway. The views were breathtaking (even in low cloud) - throw in the hot tub and the ability to stargaze and the whole experience was tremendous. The inside of the cottage did not disappoint either. We were surprised to find underfloor heating and the log burner fire made for a really cosy evening. The bed was incredibly comfy (some of the best sleep I've had in a while as a primary school teacher so was very much appreciated). Also managed to make use of the luxurious bath - would definitely recommend. The Old Dairy is somewhere we would recommend to any prospective bookers and we hope to return ourselves. We got engaged on the first night (to my surprise) and the setting could not have been more perfect. Pam and Steve have rennovated the property with a keen eye for detail and love. Many thanks for having us.

    Samantha2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Where do you start with this place? Everything is just perfect Set in stunning scenery with the most amazing views, the property is decorated so stylishly! The interior is incredible and great for relaxing infront of the fire or watching some tv curled up on the sofa, the kitchen is modern and has everything you need to cook a great meal. The front room has a great log burner to keep you warm and it’s perfect to cuddle up on the sofa infront of. Upstairs the bedroom is spacious and has the comfiest best (so much so my wife wants us to replace ours with the same mattress!) The bathroom is spacious and modern and with a great power shower you can’t go wrong. The bath looked incredible and generously sized but we never tried it. Outside the hot tub is worth going for alone! Even in December we sat in it and admired the views of the English hills across the border and watched the sheep, life doesn’t get much better then that! Checking in was a breeze and it’s a short(ish) walk to the local pub. Top tip, stick to the road, we tried the path that google suggested and it meant a lot more effort especially as it was wet mud and over a big hill!! Worth noting the local pub does take card :) We can’t wait to come back and stay !

    Peter2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning place to stay for couples, for us we wanted a weekend together without outside interruption. It was perfect! Lots of walks available and a really friendly pub with good food 30 mins walk. Pam & Steve are friendly helpfull and are easily available should you need them.

  • Wow wow wow. This cottage is absolutely amazing. It’s so beautiful inside and in such a wonderful location. The hot tub is also an amazing addition. We were sat in there at midnight star gazing, it doesn’t get much better than that! Pam was also so helpful in the lead up. We will definitely be back and I would recommend anyone looking for a beautiful little place to get away to to go here. We were here for our first wedding anniversary and it was simply amazing!!!

    Harriet2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The old dairy is beautiful and Pam & Steve were wonderful hosts. The cottage was warm and cosy, perfect for nights in after long days in the country. The cottage has everything you could need with the added bonus of a hot tub. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely have another stay here.

    Laura2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly restored space in a gorgeous setting. Loads of homely touches and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Fantastic undisturbed views of the local scenery. Make sure you visit a supermarket before your arrival.

    Marianne2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place to stay in absolutely stunning countryside. The Old Dairy has been beautifully renovated and is such a lovely, warm, cosy space for 2. The view, hot tub and wood-burning stove all add to the ambience & experience. Pam was a great host - responded quickly to all questions, gave us very clear instructions and overall really lovely. Great local places to eat, walk & visit, so makes for a good location as a base. We spent a very relaxing 3 days here - a great break from work & London!

    Belinda2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend the old dairy. Very high spec, all mod cons and roomy for two people. Great outside space with spectacular views especially from the hot tub. A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. I will definitely be back!

The place itself was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean making it the perfect retreat to escape, chat, relax and base ourselves for a few walks and a little R&R. Thank you Brenda!

  • Michael and Candida’s hut is such a wonderful, private and relaxing space. Away from any distractions, it is so peaceful and quiet.....and the hot tub is the icing on the cake! We didn’t want to leave. Everything had been thought of and catered for you, including a welcome pack of butter, bread, milk, jam and home-made apple juice, and we were given lots of handy tips on places to eat, shops, walks, places to visit. Nothing was too much trouble. We just wish we had seen more of Merlin!

    Andy2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • 5 stars are not enough! Such a relaxing time away. A great place to recharge your mind and body with lazy days or lots of things to do locally if you want that as well. Michael and Candida are such welcoming hosts and so thoughtful. All the little touches in the shepherd's hut make it just perfect. Such a wonderful couple, great amenities in a perfect location.

    Katie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to get away from it all! The hut itself is really cosy and has everything you need, and the adjacent wood-fired hot tub is amazing! The setting of the hut is completely private with stunning views over the Welsh countryside. Michael and Candida were lovely hosts going above and beyond on all accounts! Nice touches such as a welcome package of milk, butter, locally baked bread, eggs from their own hens and delicious apple juice from their orchard really completed the experience! Also worthy of a mention is their gorgeous Labrador Merlin who quickly became firm friends with our own dog Rosie, coming to visit her several times each day for a game of chase!

Set in the beautiful rural Herefordshire countryside, next to the Welsh borders, The Garden Cottage is approached over private tracks. (These are well maintained but please drive slowly). The cottage overlooks beautiful scenic farmland. Come and relax. The only sounds you hear are farm animals and bird song. The Garden Cottage is up on Ewyas Harold common, surrounded by its own land and the butterfly conservation fields. It is about half a mile away from the popular village of Ewyas Harold.
A tranquil cottage set on a hill overlooking beautiful views of farmland and hills. Guests are welcome to roam about the 1 acre of country gardens. The access to the property is through my own private gated land and is grazed by my very friendly welsh mountain ponies.
Ewyas Harold is a very well served large village.
  • Lovely welcome from the host, her dogs, ducks, geese, hens and horses. Lovely little cottage away from it all but within walking distance of Ewyas Harold.

  • Rhona's cabin is just perfect. Its a wonderful space, so relaxing and cosy, we had a fantastic break. The views are beautiful, the animals are friendly (shout out to Olive and Betty, two beautiful dogs), the whole atmosphere is one of calm and restfulness. Thank you for your hospitality, including freshly laid eggs! We will definitely be back!

    Helen2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rhona was so lovely and helpful and the place was just idyllic, a cosy hideaway with beautiful garden views out of the huge windows, we had a wonderful peaceful stay, thank you ever so much

    Tammy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptionally cosy space created by Rhona, in a lovely elevated position in a secluded setting on the rural borderland of England and Wales.

    Andrew2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The location is really beautiful and is easy to get to but feels remote. The cabin is very cosy & Rhona was a very welcoming host.

    Amy2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rhona's place is magical! Such a lovely peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings. Lovely walks straight from the cabin, and really close to some nice local pubs. We'd love to come back soon.

  • Amazing place. So peaceful and views are fantastic. Lovely short walk to the main village where there is a decent pub and fish & chip shop. My 2 children really enjoyed it and there was easily enough space for the 4 of us. I would definitely recommend this for a relaxing and peaceful get away.

Kingfisher Camp is a romantic hideaway set in the dimple of a hillside of a small farm in the foothills of the Black Mountains. The hut is available for anyone who is content to cuddle up by candlelight and light the woodburning stove to get cosy, or spend a night out by the fire, cooking food and star gazing. The perfect space for anyone looking to self isolate in a special location!!
It's a tin hut, warm and cosy, tucked away from the world with stunning views. Previous guests have described it as the loveliest wendy house ever. It will accomodate a couple - or two good friends. It is all one room, with a sofa bed at one end and the kitchen department at the other. We do ask that guests bring their own sleeping bags or bedding (double sheet/duvet cover and pillow cases) and towels, and firewood. Everything else is provided for cooking etc.
We live on the edge of a fantastic village in the lee of the Black Mountains. There is a wonderful village shop - Hopes of Longtown - which stocks everything you could possibly need and more and caters for all types of dietary preferences, with a large focus on locally sourced food. There is the Crown Inn in Longtown and the Cornewall Arms in Clodock, well worth a visit, and the walking in the surrounding hills is unsurpassed.
  • Was a great experience! Arrived to a warm welcome from Amber and he husband. Everything there needed for a stay with plenty of wood. Views and scenery are stunning. Highly reccommend to anyone wanting to get away.

    Liam2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amber's hobbit hut in the hills is truly wonderful. With the fire lit, we stayed warm and cosy despite the gales blowing outside. The futon bed was firm and comfy, the kitchen helpfully stocked with tea and other essentials, and the view from every window was breathtaking. We'll definitely be visiting again.

    Steve2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We visited the hut in early March and had a wonderful experience. The hut has all the essentials and wonderful views. The wood-burning stove kept us very warm and was great to cook in!

  • Great stay here! Small walk from a pub & shop. Great place to chill out for the weekend.

    Jamie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a peaceful, heartwarming place to stay and relax. The hut is so cosy and we felt instantly at home. The views were incredible and you have a lot of privacy! The place was toasty warm even during a storm and we had all the amenities we needed. Despite being off grid we still managed to cook some lovely meals with all the kitchen utensils provided. We didn’t want to leave! Thanks Amber!

Staying in the Redwood is just like being high up in a tree house, - its floor height is elevated into the middle of two wonderful mature oak trees. It has the true wooden cabin feel, and it is particularly easy to hide away in for quite some time!
There is a 360 degree view of the Golden Valley around you from the Redwood, with great big windows all round the space. While you sit cosy on the sofa in front of the woodburner, you can see out for miles into the countryside in front of you, whilst being beautifully sheltered inside your ‘cabin on wheels’. The Redwood was handmade on the farm, and the wood milled in the field just next to you! I made the effort to pay a lot attention to detail. When you are lying in your big comfy kingsize bed in the mezzanine bedroom, you will be nearly 15 feet off the ground, with a window out to the tree branches, making you feel like you are suspended in the tree canopy while you sleep. Chanstone is a working farm and provides the backdrop of a genuine rural experience. The Redwood is a real one-off structure, you wont be disappointed. The Redwood sleeps five people. The mezzanine has a king-size bed. There is an delightful little single bedroom underneath the mezzanine and also a double sofa bed by the wood burning stove. All of the beds have memory foam mattresses a French linen bedding. You have hot water on demand, a heated towel rail and a nice big power-shower, hair dryer and toiletries. The kitchen is very well equipped with cooking kit. There is a gas cooker and oven, fridge and small freezer. There are also some cooking basics such as a variety of herbs and spices, stock cubes, olive oil, sauces etc. There is also tea, good coffee and milk provided. Outside you have a lovely elevated deck area with a seating for 6 and a BBQ (please bring charcoal with you). This space works well for someone on their own looking for some quiet time, couples wanting a bit of a wooden cabin-like escape, or families to have a rural holiday with a twist.
  • Stunningly put together, clever little hut that feels magical. Just the right balance of simplicity and comfort. Thank you!

  • All the other reviews say it better than i could simply put, if you want an escape from the pace and stress of modern life, this is the perfect place for you. Every aspect of the redwood is perfect for rest and relaxation and the scenery is beautiful. I would live here if o could, quite happily. Thanks.

  • A perfect retreat. Loved every minute.

    Andrew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We booked to stay at the Redwood for a couple of nights to celebrate our two year anniversary and it did not disappoint. Such a pretty cabin with brilliant kitchen facilities and such a comfy bed in the mezzanine! We had a lovely, relaxing time in beautiful surroundings.

    Becca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Redwood is an amazing getaway and Tilly's attention to detail really makes it special. I will be recommending this to everyone I know and will definitely be booking again!

    Amy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very special place. Cosy, relaxing, and comfortable. Lots of great little touches. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back. You can go on great walks right from the doorstep and then sit by the fire all evening. Fully-stocked kitchen, so no need to go out for food. Don't miss it.

    Tatiana2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give 6 stars instead of 5 I would. Gorgeous location surrounded by rolling hills and forests. The red wood is perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle ....we didn't see another person out entire stay. Great base for exploring the area as it's right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and very close to some beautiful villages. Hay on wye is a must. Super clean accommodation with some really nice touches .

Spacious Herefordshire cottage, packed with rustic charm in a beautiful rural setting. The Pottery is a perfect place to get away from it all, and a great base to explore historic towns and cities on both sides of the Welsh Border.
A lovely spacious cottage for two people. The Pottery is a couple of miles from the village of Ewyas Harold, on the edge of the Golden Valley, with great views over gorgeous rolling countryside towards the Welsh Border. Just perfect for a peaceful getaway, with walks galore and great food on the doorstep. The cottage used to be a working pottery, hence its name, and there are some wonderful old features, like oak beams and exposed stone work that give it buckets of character. It's a bit of a Tardis inside too, with a good sized kitchen, bathroom (with shower over a bath), upstairs bedroom and a large sitting room. The Pottery has a homely feel with all the usual mod cons, though please note, there's no Wifi - so a real chance to escape from it all! The bedroom is up a small flight of stairs - downstairs there's the kitchen, bathroom with a bath (and a shower over the bath), and a spacious sitting room. There's parking next to the Pottery, and the cottage faces onto the owner's colourful garden. Their home is a short distance from the cottage, further up the driveway. Rowlestone's small picturesque Norman church, St Peter's, with its renowned stone carvings is behind the cottage, and the biggest treat of all (March-October) is you can buy ice-cream next door at Rowlestone Court Farm. No need to travel far to eat out either - Ewyas Harold is just a few minutes drive and has two pubs serving food, as well as a popular Fish and Chip shop. There's also a village store, Post Office and two Butchers. Rowlestone is a great base to explore the wonderful Wye Valley - and the Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons are within easy reach too. If you want a change from wide open spaces, then why not take a trip to the Cathedral city of Hereford (25 mins), or Abergavenny with its bustling markets (25 mins), the pretty border town of Monmouth (35 mins), or beautiful, book-tastic Hay-on-Wye! (45 mins). And if you fancy going a little further afield, Bristol, Cardiff, Chepstow, Worcester and Cheltenham are all within easy reach.
Herefordshire is one of England's hidden gems - stunning countryside, wonderful walks, charming churches, bustling market towns, famous festivals, fabulous food…and of course, cider! Rowlestone sits in the South West of the county on the edge of the beautiful Golden Valley that heads up to Hay-on-Wye, but it also looks out towards the Welsh Border. There's something special about borderlands - rich in history and castles! There are many well worth visiting nearby, like Grosmont, Raglan and Usk. Herefordshire is renowned for it's wonderful Norman churches - from the magnificent Hereford Cathedral, home to the Mappa Mundi, to St Peter's, right next door to the Pottery. There are other wonderful examples of early church architecture and stone work close by, and beautiful, peaceful Dore Abbey at Abbey Dore is well worth a visit. Another, not to be missed, is the 12th century ruins of Llanthony Priory, nestling at the end of a valley, with a rather unique hotel built into part of the Priory walls. There can't be many places where you can enjoy a drink and breathtaking view amidst the ruins of an ancient monastery! It's a fabulous spot for walking too, from energetic hill walks to something more leisurely. As you drive towards Rowlestone, you'll see the black mountains straight ahead and the Skirrid to your left. You can ramble across the fields and rivers from the cottage or drive a few minutes to Eywas Harold and walk up to the common with its abundant wildlife and fabulous views. The meadowland by the common is a designated Butterfly Nature Reserve. If you fancy a more gentle amble around some inspiring gardens, then Abbey Dore Court garden and Kentchurch are close (check opening times online), with many more open to the public during the National Garden Scheme (NGS) As well as the Cathedral, Hereford is a great place to visit either for a spot of shopping (some lovely boutiques and gift shops down Church street), a walk along the river or a trip to the Bulmer's cider museum, though we do have an even more local cider maker on our doorstep - you'll see Ty Gwyn cider on your left as you drive towards the Pottery. For a real taste of the county you can travel the Herefordshire Cider Route, which takes in some of the main cider orchards in the Wye valley. Abergavenny, the Gateway to Wales, is well-known for its busy markets - tuesday is the main one, but others are held on fridays and saturdays, with a popular flea market on wednesdays, plus regular antique and craft fairs too. The Abergavenny Food Festival held over the third weekend in September has really put the town on the map, bringing together local food producers and renowned chefs for demos, workshops and tasty treats! There are some fabulous, award-winning restaurants here that have proved quite a draw, like The Walnut Tree, The Hardwick and The Foxhunter, all near Abergavenny and all with an impressive reputation. Closer to the Pottery there are two great pubs in Ewyas Harold that do food; a popular village Fish and Chip shop, and also the Carpenter's Arms - a tiny, homely old fashioned pub that's just a few miles away. Hay-on-Wye is famous for its Literary Festival at the end of May, but is well worth a visit at any time of year. You could easily spend a whole day browsing through the many quirky secondhand bookshops and there are some fantastic galleries, gifts, crafts and antiques to see too. Plenty of fabulous cafes as well, like The Granary or Booth's, which is at the back of one of the town's best known bookshops. Other festivals nearby include the Borderline Film Festival, Flavours of Herefordshire and the Bromyard Folk Festival.

The cottage is set well back from the main road across a couple of fields. Direction and sign from Myra were very useful. Lovely log burning fire and excellent kitchen and bedrooms. Recommended.

  • We had a lovely weekend at the barn, it’s so beautifully decorated with lovely little touches and Myra was a great host! Lots to do in the surrounding area - including Mountain Mayhem (fun day of activities). Thank you

    Lucy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly wonderful stay in The Barn - it is a total treat to relax and just wind down there. The view over Hay Bluff from the back garden is idyllic, the huge kitchen ready for proper cooking and baking, and the spacious living room with stove just perfect. Lovely personal welcome from Myra even though we were pretty late arriving from Yorkshire. Beautiful furniture, textile colours, comfy beds and homely touches like throws and rugs everywhere. Would love to see the garden again earlier in the season, full of lovely perennial clumps and thoughtful planting. We had September sunny spells and strong showers but nothing that stopped us getting out into the magical Welsh Marches and rolling countryside all about. Owls calling at dusk and buzzards everywhere too! A very good location (with a car of course) to get to: Hay 12 miles, Hereford 16 miles and Abergavenny 12 miles. The Black Hill and deep Llanthony Valley are very near to get to for proper walking, plus good local field strolls right on your door step for example to the ancient gem St Margaret’s church. Loads of OS maps and local walk books provided in the hall too which we used daily. Thank you Myra - it was perfect and we will be back!!

    Claire2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is beautiful - extremely characterful and charming. The location is stunning but it is remote so do have a good OS map to hand! It is very well equipped and we really enjoyed our stay.

  • We had a wonderful time at Rachael’s house. Rachael’s mum, Myra, was very easy to communicate with and the house was immaculate when we arrived. The house itself is gorgeous! So quirky and homely. We loved sitting in the garden and looking at the beautiful view. We would love to return, thank you so much!

  • Rachel and Roland's place is lovely, clean, comfortable and has really amazing views. We were looking to get away from it all for a long weekend and it was perfect. You feel sounded by beautiful countryside but still have all the modern comforts. Having a pool is an amazing plus for the price - really good value. They were both really nice and welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend.

  • We loved our stay at The Granary and Rachel and Roland went out of their way to be welcoming hosts. It is set in the most beautiful surroundings and we can’t wait to return.

  • This is a beautiful location with views stretching across the Wye Valley. The Cottage was sparkling clean and the bed very comfortable. It had all the amenities to prepare food in the evenings. The pool was very clean and Rachel and Roland were very welcoming. Great location for peace and tranquillity with lovely walks right on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend.

    Emma2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot praise this lovely place enough and will definately be going back! Rachel and Roland could not have been more welcoming and the accomodation was superb. It was clean and the decor was so lovely that we actually made a trip to meet the lady who made the bedroom cushions and ordered some for our home. The Granary was equipped with everything you needed and the swimming pool topped it for us (using it each eve and morning). Views were breathtaking! More than perfect. X🐾

This Showmans Wagon, The Sipson’, is 35 feet long, giving you plenty of room to stretch out and relax! It sits in a quiet corner of a traditional Herefordshire orchard in The Golden Valley. Chanstone is a working farm and provides the backdrop of a genuine rural experience. The wagon has its own private access and is hidden from view, amongst the dappled light of mature apple trees, where you can properly hide away. Follow on instagram @farmhomenow
It is very well kitted out with a full kitchen, fridge, freezer and hob and oven, and all the kitchen equipment you might need. The bathroom has a wonderful hot power shower, the sitting room area has a wooodburner and comfy sofa. The bedroom is a cosy wooden hideaway with French linen sheets and a soft memory foam mattress. There is a deck and dining area outside the front of the wagon, a hammock under the trees and a fire pit to sit round at night.
You will be situated 10 miles from Hay-on-Wye, the famous book town, and in easy reach of the Black Mountains. The farm has 180 acres of SSSI woodland and lots of walks available nearby, along with great pubs and the odd sheep! Check out my instagram page for views of the wagon and the farm: https://www.instagram.com/farmhomenow/
  • The Sipson was the perfect weekend retreat for us. The farm offered an amazingly peaceful backdrop and we loved waking up to the sheep out the window each day! We’d definitely recommend visiting Hay-On-Wye - it’s a gorgeous little town and we only Wished we’d had longer there (you could easily fill a day stumbling in and out of coffee shops and antique and books shops). We are at The Bridge Inn, as recommended by Tilly, on our first night and it was excellent. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, which we profited from on our second night, making a meal from fresh produce followed by board games. A wonderful stay in a wonderful part of the country - thanks for having us, Tilly.

    Steph2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to say, so fun and stylish and very cosy. Tilly is great with communication too, I'd highly recommend.

    Hannah2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Tilly’s wagon. Often these sorts of airbnb’s are in someone’s garden overlooked by a house but this couldn’t be further from that, in a field with not a soul in sight - just what we wanted. I was worried about the outside loo but was amazed by how clean and fresh it was. We also had some eggs from the farm for breakfast which were the best we’ve ever had. We spent the morning in Hay on Wye but then decided to spend the whole afternoon and evening in the wagon as it was so cosy with the log fire! Couldn’t recommend enough :)

    Abigail2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a quiet couples retreat. If in doubt about booking, book it.

    Chris J2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect getaway from busy London! It was idyllic- lovely walks, beautiful views and good company from the sheep. The wagon was cosy, sparkling clean and the fireplace kept us warm. Tilly was a great host and provided us with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

    Christina2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous and Pinterest worthy place to stay. Very relaxing and the rain in the evening made the log fire cosier. I’m glad I had my site boots in the car as the rain made the track muddy but that’s just where the car is parked, once your through the gate into the field it’s not muddy at all - a lovely garden area would be great for bbqs in the summer! We recommend buying some fresh eggs from the farm. We can’t wait to stay again!

    Cheryl2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely wagon in a beautiful setting - the perfect escape!! Really nice interior, filled with thoughtful touches of things you might want/need! Tilly replied to any questions I had and provided loads of useful advice on the local area. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend if you want a little escape from life and ready to relax in peace in something a little different. 5*’s !!!

Mimi's Tree yurt is light, airy and romantic. We built every part of it together as a family and it's designed as an escape for couples who want to relax and reconnect with nature and a slow way of living. As you lie in bed, you can see up into the stars. There's a woodburning stove to keep you warm and lots of blankets. To really relax, we've put a luxurious copper beaten bath in there too. A composting loo and solar panel generated 12v electricity keeps your environmental impact low.
There's a kitchen cabin that has been completely crafted by hand from local wood. It's got lots of details that we've thought carefully about to keep your experience down to earth and pleasant. There's a simple gas hob you can boil a kettle on or cook a fry up, a coolbox instead of a fridge, and what you'd pack for a camping trip really, pots and pans, crockery, salt, pepper and coffee! The bathroom is just as simple, it's a composting loo, which means you use sawdust instead of flushing and what you eat goes back to the earth in the form of fertiliser. There's a sink with running water and an outdoor shower. You can take a bottle of wine and your supper down to the picnic table outside and eat outdoors under Mimi's Tree, which is what we've named the yurt after, a little white pony who always chose to rest under the tree, one leg cocked.
The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are a walker's paradise. The Carpenter's Arms is a wonderful traditional pub in walking distance with Vera at the helm. There are great restaurants too - The Hardwick, The Walnut Tree, The Angel Hotel and the Crown at Pantigelli. Abergavenny is a 15 minute drive away with railway station and supermarkets.

Perched in the high corner of a Herefordshire wildflower meadow, with fold upon fold of rolling hills running off into the Black Mountains, this great green and gold-ribbed showman's waggon (old Herefordshire spelling) boasts wonderful comfort and cosiness - with full bathroom facilities in its own heated cedar extension, and a fantastic wood burner for year-round warmth, you can enjoy all the wildness and romance of nature with every comfort from home. Sleeps 2, plus up to 2 well behaved dogs
Down a farm track, you arrive into a secluded orchard - and there, at the end of a woodland path, stands the Edwardian. Push open the front door, and you step into another world: inside, exquisite period detail; and outside, just there, through the French windows onto the south, is the sun terrace overlooking the glorious view. At the heart of the wagon is a fiercely efficient wood stove - ensuring that you can be deliciously cosy in all seasons - and two comfy armchairs each with their own reading lamp. Again, you can survey the view - this time from the comfort of your chairs. ( Generous supply of wood for the stove included in the price). The kitchen is superbly equipped ( " more amenities than my house in London", said one delighted visitor) - including original 50's gas stove, microwave, toaster, fridge. And you can watch the sun set as you dine at the kitchen table looking through one of the kitchen's south or west facing windows. The bedroom boasts the full sweep of the view through the picture window at your feet, whilst through the window onto a glade to the east, you can watch songbirds nibble at a bird feeder just four feet from your pillow. The Edwardian boasts its original antique pine polished floor, and exquisite lighting that cleverly mimics the original gas and oil lamps. And at night, with shutters closed and velvet curtains drawn, you could almost imagine yourself travelling in a first class cabin of the Orient Express, complete with exquisite wood panelling and gold stencilling lovingly inscribed onto the ceilings. Adjoining the wagon is its own cedar clad bathroom. Complete with floor to ceiling towel rail to ensure warmth at all times, flushing toilet, tiny Belfast sink ( shaving plug nearby) and its fabulous Moroccan tadelakt-plastered shower - so big that it doesn't need a glass door. And through the eye level window on the shower's eastern wall, you can gaze at another nearby bird feeder, and the woodland glade beyond. Another French door to the west leads onto the wagon's garden, and the fire pit where you can cook superb grilled food on the state-of -the-art Kotlich grill. So you can dine cosily in the kitchen; al fresco at the table on the veranda; or around the garden fire-pit.
This is farming country, so there is peace and quiet in profusion with only occasional farming sounds, like the baa of a sheep, the cluck of a chicken, or an occasional tractor in the lane. But overall, there is a simply wonderful silence - no background A-roads in this beautifully empty part of the countryside. Instead, the sky-larks sing intermittently high above the field; nesting lapwings in season make their inimitable cry; and there is the odd mew of the buzzards that visit regularly. And, of course, all the many small songbirds that come to nibble at the bird feeders. So, staying put and enjoying all these peaceable sounds is immensely relaxing. There are plenty of walks from the doorstep, too.
  • The Showman's Wagon was the perfect countryside retreat. It's been beautifully decorated and maintained in keeping with the Edwardian era which really makes you unwind and switch off. Beware of the country roads as we popped a tyre in a huge pothole, but if your tyres can manage it there's amazing walks and loads to do in the area. Or hide inside by the wood burner like we did! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • What a beautiful place. We loved every minute in the gorgeous Showman’s wagon. The birds, the fire, the views. Everything was perfect. Annie and John have created a wonderful place to stay and all the little extras made this a very special place. We can’t wait to return ☺️ x

    Anna2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It's difficult to describe how much we enjoyed our time in the showman's wagon. Every detail in this gorgeous secluded sanctuary is perfectly observed not one thing is out of place and it instantly felt like home. John and Annie have thought of everything and we couldn't have asked for more. We arrived in the middle of storm Dennis and were literally stranded for the weekend and there was nowhere we would have rather been. We would love to keep this our little secret, but such a special place deserves to be shared. We will be returning as soon as we can, and hopefully in better weather.

  • Amazing place, so unique! It's.... Cosy. Remote and private. Surrounded with personal little touches. The perfect place to escape from it all. Great for walks and exploring. Perfect for pooches. Ours curled up by the log burner very happily and loved the surrounding area for morning and evening wanders. Small but perfectly equipped for making great dinners. Had an exceptional steak dinner on new year's eve! And some great breakfasts sitting at the table watching the abundance of birds outside. A very special little place 😊

3 adults max. Main bedroom king size bed (adjoining 2nd room 2 single beds* plus mattress) and bathroom (radiator from AGA) up your own staircase. This is my home... we share my kitchen and sitting room. My bedroom and bathroom at other end of the house up separate staircase. Well behaved dogs welcome. Non smokers only. Low impact living. Breakfast provided organic milk, Fairtrade teas and coffee, eggs, homemade bread and jams. No central heating... woodburner and AGA, so wear layers in winter!
My home is an early 17th century oak frame and stone, grade 2 listed farm house with a range of tumbledown barns. I’m surrounded by fields and woodland, have a herd of fallow deer and am an independent midwife. I LOVE having people to stay! As long as you can cope with a "lived in feel", probably some cobwebs and a wild garden, come and enjoy my home… very old traditional oak beams, original flagstone floors, loads of steps because the house is built on a hillside with no foundations, amazing views and tranquillity... other than barn owls, tawny owls, little owls, buzzards, foxes, sheep and deer and occasionally the SAS doing some training in the woods across the valley! You have your own staircase to a large double bedroom and bathroom (with radiator off AGA... a warmish bathroom is one of life's essentials in my opinion) power shower (hard water and Herefordshire clay and lime stained and roughened bath. Only showers at present because of low rainfall... my water is from a spring. When it's been raining, the water may turn clay pink). There's also a smaller bedroom up the same staircase with 2 single beds and an extra mattress available... I don't let this separately to the double room. *(If you'd like 2 rooms for 2 people or the 2 single beds plus the king sized bed for 3 people, there's a one off extra £20 to pay... please ask me for a special price). Feather and down duvets. Hairdryer. I sleep at the other end of the house, up my own staircase and have my own bathroom but we'll be sharing the kitchen and sitting room. Heating is from the AGA and woodburner... true country living! NB No central heating so wear extra layers in winter. Seriously, please cancel and wait for summer if you need a central heated environment! Hot water bottles available!
My home is on the hillside overlooking the very small village of Abbeydore (or Abbey Dore depending on the map or sign) in the Golden Valley just into England on the Welsh border. Cistercian monks came to the valley in the 12th century and built the abbey. The story goes, they asked the locals for the name of the river and were told it’s the dwr (water in Welsh… we may well have been in Wales at the time) and the monks saw it running east west, catching the sun and thought d’or (gold in French), hence river Dore, Dore Abbey and Golden Valley! I’ve lived here for 18 years and love it. Stunning countryside, very rural so aware of the rhythms of the seasons but just half an hour from anywhere (Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye) and about an hour from everywhere else (Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester, Ludlow, Brecon). Fascinating castles, churches, lots of walking including from home and good food. Talking of food, this area has loads of amazing places to eat… sadly no pub in Abbeydore but lots of local pubs and restaurants providing good food. The Temple Bar Inn, Ewyas Harold, 5 minutes drive (every day lunch, Wed-Sat evenings), the Bridge Inn, Michaelchurch Escley, 20 minutes drive (every evening,Tues-Sun lunch plus BH Mons), the Carpenters Arms, Walterstone, been the same for 50 years, 20 minutes drive (every lunch and evening), or Michelin starred restaurant the Walnut Tree, Llanddewi Skirrid, 25 minutes drive but so worth it! (Tues-Sat lunch and evening) or more simply Marcus’s very best fish and chips, Ewyas Harold 5 minutes drive or a 40 minute walk (Wed-Sat), Abbey Dore Court Gardens Tea Rooms for coffees, light lunches including yummy puds and afternoon teas, 5 minutes walk, (March to September, Thurs-Sun and bank holidays) and really delicious made on the farm, ice cream (Rowlestone 10 minutes drive, 1 1/2 hour’s walk, April-September 2017, Wed-Sun and bank holidays). As well as lots of choice in surrounding towns... just ask me! There's a village shop, two butchers and a garage in Ewyas Harold (5 minutes drive). Or Lock's Garage (12 minutes drive) which sells everything conceivable. Or Waitrose in Abergavenny (30 minutes drive) or Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose in Hereford (25-35 minutes drive) or Co-op in Hay-on-Wye (30 minutes drive). What to do? Dore Abbey (10 minute walk across fields or through lanes) Abbeydore Court Gardens and Tea Room (in village) Abergavenny food festival September and December h.Art sculpture and art exhibitions all over Herefordshire in September Hay-on-Wye… all year round book town and annual literary festival in May/June Walking: Circular walks from home and all over Herefordshire. Close to Hay Bluff, the Skirrid, the Sugar Loaf and Black Mountains. Walking Festivals October and June Dore Abbey choral music festivals and courses. Canoeing on the river Wye from Ross, Symonds Yat or Hay Three castles Grosmont, Skenfrith and White castle (circular 20 mile walk or drive). Numerous historic churches… my favourites: -St Peter's, Rowlestone, Norman with Romanesque stone carving... find the green man, and Peter upside down (he refused to be crucified the same way as Jesus) supported by an upside down angel. Also an extraordinary bracket candelabra... are they doves, pigeons or peacocks? -Kilpeck, Norman with many stone carvings including an almost cartoon like dog and a sheel-na-gig -St Faith's, Bacton Blanch Parry Embroidery, only known surviving fabric proved to have been worn by Elizabeth 1! -Partrishrow church and St Ishow (or Issui) the hermit's cell and well... exquisitely simple and remote. -St Michael's, Garway very simple Knights Templar church Black and White Village trail Big Pit National Coal museum with underground tours by former miners Llantony Priory and the drive up the Vale of Ewyas, over the Gospel Pass to Hay-on-Wye Hereford, cathedral city and home of the Mappa Mundi, The Old House and Cider Museum Raglan Castle

  • We stayed at Clock Cottage as a base for hiking in the Black Mountains - for which is is very conveniently located. The cottage was a perfect haven after we had been battered by storms on the ridges. The log burner makes the whole cottage toasty warm, the bathroom has a massive shower and deep bath for warming up and relaxing, and the bed is extremely comfortable. It was very difficult to leave! Highly recommended.

  • Absolutely wonderful little hideaway in the beautiful Welsh countryside. The accommodation was perfect for what we wanted and look forward to returning again soon. Thank you Julian!

  • This place is lovely, perfectly situated for a quiet country escape. The communication is amazing and Julian really makes the place very welcoming. We were left little chocolates on the bed and some breakfast things, so we could just arrive and settle in and not have to worry about shopping. The fire was set up and ready to light as well which was perfect as it was getting frosty when we arrived. We made a booking at the walnut tree restaurant which is pricey but lovely for a special treat. They do a more reasonably priced lunch menu (£32 fir three courses) which Julian recommended to us when I asked about the walnut tree. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you could need. I would recommend a stay here. I would love to return here.

  • Well equipt, clean, comfortable and cosy. Perfect location for a quiet get-away. We’d certainly recommend this property.

  • Honestly the best airbnb we have ever stayed at. Fantastic hospitality with a cottage to match. Sadly we only had the weekend to stay but this will definitely not be the last time we stay at the clock tower cottage.

Little Loft is a bright, sunny, well equipped private studio apartment with a small terrace, garden and stunning mountain views: It has a lovely elevated setting with a babbling brook. There's a great village shop and 3 pubs within walking distance.
Little Loft is a studio apartment in the apex of an oak framed barn, built in 2007. It has its own access up a garden stone staircase. A rocky stream flows down a gully through the gardens and separates Little Loft from the main house, thus providing privacy. An oak framed bridge provides another access. The loft has its own private elevated garden and a small, decked terrace built over the roof of a small house—bats. This terrace leads into Little Loft via a lobby, which opens on to a simply furnished space with a bamboo floor. It has a very comfortable king-sized bed. There's a well-equipped kitchenette (with steamer, microwave, toaster, kettle, and Foreman grill, multi cooking pot e.g. slow cooker, fryer, roaster, etc.). NB No hob or oven! There is separate modern shower room, with restricted height by the wash hand basin - the shower is a large rectangle and of course is full height. There is broadband internet, although it is on occasion slow. Mobile phone signals are patchy, improving, but sometimes not available at all. Little Loft is most suitable for two people, but could accommodate an extra adult or two children. There is a private garden with outside seating above Little Loft
Little Loft is set in a stunning landscape on the English side of the Welsh Border. The view from the Loft window flows down to the Monnow River at the bottom of the valley before sweeping up to the mountain ridge that bisects the landscape. This ridge is part of the Offa's Dyke Long Distance Footpath and its summit separates the pastoral hedge lined meadows of England from the more mysterious rolling wildness of the Black Mountains in Wales. It is a magical borderland, dotted with ruined castles, abbeys, and ancient churches, a spot for lovers of nature, for doers and explorers, and for dreamers and thinkers. There are many great options for dining out, and within walking distance there are three pubs, two of which have restaurants. There's no best time to visit; spring, summer and early autumn are all festival times in the market towns. May brings the Hay on Wye literary festival; August Brecon Jazz; and September the Abergavenny Food Festival. Musical events happen regularly and there are small independent cinemas in Hay on Wye and Abergavenny and a multiplex in Hereford. Abergavenny and Hereford have lively theatres.
  • Awesome place to stay. Daughter and I had 3 days of chilling time. There is a double sofa bed in as well as the double bedwith plenty of spare bedding should you require it . Snug and warm. Loved the home made bread to welcome us with . Highly recommended- we visit the Brecon waterfalls several times a year and they are only 50 minutes away

  • Great place to stay. Was really nice to get sent information about the local area before our stay and the freshly baked bread when we arrived was a lovely extra! Gorgeous area, really clean studio which has everything you need in it and within walking distance of a local shop and pubs. Thanks! Ps- the local pubs don't take card so take cash with you

  • Really great hospitality, great base to visit the Brecon Beacons and to get out in the countryside! The loft is separate form the main house so there is lots of privacy. We went to the Crown in the evening and it was a great local pub with plenty of good food options.

  • We had such a lovely time. Kate was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The extra touches were really appreciated. Little Loft is set in a beautiful place close to local pubs and places to explore. A very warm, cosy and stylish little getaway. We loved every minute. Thank you.

  • Quaint and cozy, great views and well located for exploring the Brecon Beacons and surrounding towns. Kate was very welcoming and even presented us with a loaf of freshly baked bread. Would recommend.

  • Super cosy accommodation in a beautiful setting, with many amenities provided and some very thoughtful touches. The Hayloft had books and information about the local area which was very helpful. Kate was an excellent host and communicated information and directions ahead of our visit.

  • Charming little place in a great quiet spot. Would highly recommend for a quiet weekend away

    Luke2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Loft is very quaint and perfectly formed. With everything you would need for a perfectly comfortable stay. It was warm and cozy and very clean. The location is amazing with outstanding views even on the most gloomiest of days. The directions that were offered but Kate were accurate and we had no problems in finding it and there was parking on site. It was central to where we wanted to be and easily accessible. I have no doubt there are lots of walk on the doorstep which i would like to explore, when i go back. There was outside space also which is an added bonus, although we didn’t have the opportunity to use it (weather and time of the year). I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

The Cosy Cabin is a brand new retreat, opened in March 2019. The cabin has beautiful views that the front deck really maximises -perfect for a morning coffee or an evening sundowner! The cabin is a 5 minute walk away from a great village shop, and a pub which serves food. We're close to the cathedral city of Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth; the beautiful River Wye & Symonds Yat. We're dog friendly - how couldn't we be! & we offer total privacy to guests- you won't see us unless you need us!
The cabin has a mezzanine master bedroom with a king size bed. The sofa downstairs is able to turn into a double bed, & we’ve got a single chair bed & travel cot with a new mattress available upon request.
We're situated just on the edge of the village of Wormelow. It's a 10 minute walk to the village pub, & shop, which is excellently stocked. Just a field away is the start of the Herefordshire trail, a brilliant footpath that attracts walkers from all over the country. We're a 20 minute drive to Monmouth & Ross on Wye, & even closer to the historic city of Hereford, all of which are great days out, with plenty to do for all ages.
  • Wonderfully unique cabin. The mezzanine style makes for such a unique space. Superb communication, very welcoming yet completely respected our privacy. Thanks again!

  • We had a lovely time and cannot fault Steph's hospitality... The place was clean and had everything we needed. The farm fresh eggs and flowers were a bonus 💐 also lovely to have a dog friendly accommodation where you can let your dog out and know she is in a safe fenced off area 🐶😊

    Geraldine2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin. Lovely location. Great stay. Really homely.

    Tom2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a cosy treasure in a wonderful location. It’s thoughtfully and stylishly decorated and has everything you need for a cosy night in. The communication with Steph was fantastic and there were several thoughtful touches such as the fresh daffodils, fresh eggs and a late check out which made our stay even more wonderful. My dog came along too and loved the fields to run in, it was so great to have a dog-friendly space. We would absolutely recommend this cabin, it’s a perfect space for a mini break - the log burner is a real treat!

    Deanne2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really warm and snug. Flowers and some ‘home grown’ eggs from steph’s rescue hens are a lovely touch. There is a map with the cabins location marked and some local attraction leaflets. We didn’t use the log burner on our second night, despite being February and storms coming in, the cabin was warm enough with just the central heating on. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants to be able to let their dogs out of the door knowing they will be securely fenced in. The field up the lane is huge and was ideal for our two to release some energy. Keep doing what you’re doing as it really works!! Thank u, Lucy, paul & the spots xx

  • We had a lovely time with our dog, Suzie, who really enjoyed watching the horses and goats in the field outside. Can’t wait to return, I hope you all enjoy as much as we did. From Celine, Ben and Suzie! :)

  • A lovely cosy stay with great walks and pubs in the area, hosts Steph and Tom were super friendly and helpful.

    Daniel2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous cabin where you can really forget the rest of the world and properly relax. If you have a small dog that can get through a five bar gate (like me!) then the area isn’t completely dog proof but they can only get onto a quiet track and the paddock with goats and ponies in so wasn’t an issue at all. A brilliant stay though which couldn’t be better.
