  • Great private apartment, very comfortable and cosy, very clean, everything you might need for a short stay is provided and well thought of, including a thoughtful welcome pack. Great communication with Sue. Would definitely recommend, this was our first stay using Airbnb and it was perfect!

    Carly2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our experience at Sues place. There were so many nice little touches and it had a nice wee cosy cottage feel. Would highly recommend to stay. Everything was excellent.

  • Wonderful place to stay fully recommend

    Michael2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The property is so nice and cosy, with everything you could need and more, for a get away in the country. Sue was a great host and used lots of nice touches to make sure our stay was the best. Highly recommend to others.

    Richard2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very cosy, spacious and beautifully finished, self contained annex which is exactly what it says on the site description. It is made that wee bit more special by the extra goodies which Sue leaves for each visitor - a really helpful breakfast pack which lasted us for three days and some chocolate brownies. No hesitation in recommending and using it again ourselves.

    Eric2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's place is brilliant, it is immaculate and has everything you could need, cosy and warm with good wifi (sadly we were working during our stay) The little touches, like the welcome pack made a big difference to us as we had no time before getting there to get in breakfast supplies!!! Location was perfect for us to attend an event at the village hall but it seemed a great location to explore the area from. Our stay was too short really but we could not have asked for more. Thank you Sue

  • This is a real gem. Tucked away in a quiet village, the cottage is cleverly designed and beautifully appointed. Whether is a cosy romantic stay for two or (as in my case) a welcome change to hotels for a business trip, the cottage is warm, comfortable and with a high spec. Highly recommended.

Watch out for parading ducks while exploring an idyllic garden, and let children discover a treehouse at the edge of the woods. Cook on a massive Aga stove in this sprawling family home. Dine formally or at a rustic table on a stone tiled floor.
We have a cinema room where you can watch our selection of DVDs on a projector. This room also has a pool table and two single fold out beds. The living room has a double sofa bed. We have a large trampoline and a croquet set. There is a basket ball net on the house. Plenty to do for an active family. We have a selection of toys for small children. Please find us on Instagram as hollycroftbarn.
The house is in the middle of beautiful Devon countryside, on 100 acres of land not far from a small town. There are good pubs nearby and the house is a mile from the Bear Trail. Only 7 minutes drive to the National Trust's Killerton House. The Nearest station is Tiverton Parkway, 10 minutes drive. Only 25 minutes drive from the centre of Exeter. One of the UKs most attractive cities. The nearest beach is at least 40 minutes away so this location is not suitable for a beach holiday.
  • Great converted barn and garden for the kids and adults. Our boys loved the toys (including a massive teddy bear, which they called huggles), checking whether the chickens had laid any eggs and jumping in muddy puddles. My mum loved having her whole family together for her birthday.

    Chas2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful long weekend. Marcus and Tracy were easy to communicate with, and very accommodating. The barn is beautiful - the kitchen area is perfect for large groups, and grounds are nice for a country walk. Already considering booking another visit! Thank you both!

    Robert2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house is an absolute gem. It’s spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We loved the Aga and the comfy couch in the kitchen, the beautiful bedrooms, the big, comfortable lounge room, great bathrooms, the games room and the wonderful outside spaces. The family cat was a bonus! And...we loved Tracy’s special touches: beautiful flowers in every room, the children’s billycart in the shed, and the ‘welcome to Hollycroft’ cake waiting for us in the kitchen. We felt so comfy and looked after we didn’t want to leave!

    Jan2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place, 10 of us spent New Years here and it was perfect. Big enough for everyone yet still giving a warm and cozy feeling, lots to do inside and outside. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it.

  • Perfect getaway for 3 generations, my family had a special memorable time there just before Christmas. Spacious, clean and beautiful house. Tracy is easy to communicate with and even went out of her way to provide us things we had forgotten. Also, the cake that welcomed us was delicious- nothing negative to say about this place.

    Nikki2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house there we were 7 adults and and 6 children there was plenty of room for all of us and the children had plenty of room to explore the house. Lovely garden. Would recommend to friends.

    Sarah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is fab! Very spacious and feels very homely with large spaces, lovely kitchen, fireplace and the sweetest cat that came to visit every day. It is superb for families as has plenty of toys in the drawer and the chicken and ducks in the garden were an added bonus! Beds were extremely comfortable and there were lovely details like robes, welcome cake, etc. I would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

The Coach house is recently renovated to a very high standard. It consists of a living room with plenty of seating, wood burner and free supply of logs, under floor heating, a dining room that opens into our extensive gardens, a bathroom with shower and plenty of fluffy towels and an upstairs double bedroom with seating area with views over the River Otter and garden. It is ideal for a couple but we can add a crib and/or single bed for young family if given prior notice.
There is no kitchen although there is a range of crockery and glasses with a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and basket of complimentary fruit teas, ground and instant coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. We want to make your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. There is plenty of parking and although you can park immediately out side we do request that you park by the house and walk through the garden to reduce disturbance of neighbours.
We are located in the tiny village of Alfington mid-way between the market towns of Ottery St Mary and Honiton . We are about 8 miles from the coast at Sidmouth - part of the Unesco 'Jurasic coast' and just outside of the East Devon area of outstanding natural beauty. The coach house overlooks the River Otter that rises in the Blackdown hills to the north and meets the sea at the retirement town of Budleigh Salterton. Exeter , the shire county town is approximately 15 miles to the west of us and the Dartmoor national park beyond that. Exeter or Isca is steeped in history having been one of the most westerly outposts of the Roman empire, it is the regional city and university town with many cinemas, theatres and major shopping centre.
  • Excellent place to stay, really cosy and so peaceful. We felt very welcome and the breakfast was such a thoughtful touch. We could have stayed much longer, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and nature from the first floor french windows. It was so relaxing we look forward to revisiting.

    Laura2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The coach house was beautiful and very well furnished. We were completely comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Thank you Stuart and Debbie for your kindness and flexibility. We hope to visit again one day and would certainly recommend you to friends and family.

We enjoy welcoming guests to our relaxed bohemian family home. You are welcome to use any of our communal areas including the Kitchen. This single room is small but cosy with a comfortable single bed, with a mattress bought recently. I offer a range of delicious breakfast options and I have extensive experience cooking vegan and vegetarian, gluten, dairy free, paleo food. There are building works being carried out next door but the developer is very considerate. We have a friendly cat.
Our cottage is situated at the back of the high street and on the whole is very quiet, at the same time offering the convenience of being near the train station and town amenities.
Honiton is a bustling town with lots of amenities from independent shops to High Street retailers. There are some good places to eat, and if you're feeling adventurous and willing to go further afield there are some astonishingly good places to eat (The Pig, The Jack in the Green, River Cottage Canteen). There is a train station with direct Waterloo.

  • Very stylish and cosy (yet spacious) flat for me, my partner and my dog for Valentine’s weekend. Lovely touches like candles and blankets. A great equipped kitchen, and a very cosy living room to snuggle by the fire. The shower was amazing too. Great for dogs, he loved saying hello to the chickens and sheep, and great to have a wander round the farm and into the dog friendly field. Lovely rural spot yet a short drive to Cullompton Tesco superstore for supplies. Perfect little getaway!

  • We had a great stay at Anna's place. We were visiting family with our one year old and Anna made sure we had everything we needed; high chair, cot, baby bath etc. The place is easy to find and Anna and Alasdair were on hand if we needed them - even bringing us a mug of rice when i realised id forgotten to bring some for our dinner! The space is well designed and stylish - we would stay again if we come back to the area.

    Vicki2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay. A great base, warm and welcoming and ideally situated to explore the area.

    Alex2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, cozy and tidy. We enjoyed having fresh farm eggs in the morning from the chickens outside our front door. Anna was a great and helpful host. It was nice having a big field next door for our dog to run in. Pubs are a bit of a walk away but it was nice to walk through the fields and the town to reach them.

  • A beautifully appointed little place with everything you need. Modern, spotlessly clean but full of character. The local village is a pleasant 30 minute walk away and you can reach the coast in 35 minutes by car. Secluded and peaceful, this was a perfect little home for a few days. I can't wait to go back. Anna responded to every question quickly and was the perfect host. I absolutely recommend this place!

I particularly appreciated being able to make tea and coffee in the bedroom (with real milk), and the jug of iced water Carol provided.

  • Great getaway spot with easy access to multiple interesting points - Exmoor, Dartmoor, Exeter etc. Sparkling clean and nice touches. Also extremely easy to get to from the M5. Note that there are two (or maybe three) properties here: the 'loft' is on top of 'the barn', so you can hear (only slightly!) the up/downstairs neighbours if there are other guests.

  • Couldn't be happier! Anna's Airbnb was in a great location, was super spacious and comfortable, and she was a fantastic host. Great little touches in the Airbnb, like a little bit of milk on arrival and fresh eggs. Highly recommend!

    David2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is in a beautiful setting and perfect for a Devon escape. We stayed for three nights over the bank holiday with our puppy and enjoyed relaxing, drinking cider with the locals and walking. The fresh eggs from the chickens was a lovely touch!

  • We had a wonderful stay at The Loft. It is stylish and equipped with everything you need, including coffee machine, Smart TV and dishwasher. The bed was really comfortable, as was the sofa. Anna was an excellent host and always on hand. We took our dog on some great walks along the river towards Culmstock where there is a good pub. Also, a nice walk on Gaddon Down. The weather was brilliant so we drove to the North Devon Coast and stopped off at some river villages on Exmoor. We hope to come back!

  • A great three night stay at Anna’s apartment. It is extremely peaceful and quiet and very well located in that it is easily accessible by road but also very rural and good for walking into the hills nearby. The apartment has everything required and is very tastefully furnished. Highly recommended. Look forward to coming back again. Thanks Anna.

Amazingly central location allows you to explore Exeter city (17 miles) voted the best city in England last year. Jurassic coast 12 miles away with Lyme Regis famous for the film French Lieutenant's Woman. london only 3 hours by train.
A Quiet cul-de-sac but with amenities on the doorstep - Railway link to London with even more frequent trains. - 7 minutes walk to Station. The bedroom faces the front with views towards Dunkeswell Flying club (parachutists often in the summer) The Aviator to snack in and watch the planes come and go.There is parking immediately outside on the hard standing.
The proximiti y to the town is important to me - within easy walking distance to shops, library, leisure centre and the fiarly new Beehive Community which is abuzz! with live shows, talks, films music, bar . I frequesntly visit my favourite seaside resorts such as Lyme Regis (wher the French Lieutenant's Woman was filmed) and Sidmouth. Of course this includes the Jurassic Coast with much to explore for entyhusiastic walkers.

Very close to small private airfield with cafe/bar onsite and skydiving experiences if you’re feeling brave! Lots of great walks. Not far from Wellington, Taunton, Honiton and Exeter by car.
  • Michael and Chelsea were great hosts. The cottage had real Devon charm and their two beautiful dogs were a lot of fun! I really enjoyed my stay.

  • This property was spacious and spotlessly clean. The host was very welcoming and left a fabulous welcome pack with everything we could need. It’s set in a lovely rural location yet you can easily access local amenities within a short drive. Just beware of the lanes if you’re city dwellers like us - we may have had to breathe in tightly to allow a recovery truck to pass on a single track lane leading to the holiday home!!!! Highly recommend.

  • A true gem of a place to stay, home from home, in a lovely rural setting.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our short trip and only wish we could have stayed longer. We particularly loved the thoughtful, and generous, welcome pack. The cake was especially delicious as were the free range eggs from the chickens! The barn conversion was so comfortable, warm and stylish. There was great communication from the owners and there was a seemless check in process. The owner popped in the see us to check if everything was OK and allowed us a late check out on our last morning which was very kind and much appreciated. We'll definitely be back!

  • This is a cosy space, perfect for 2 (or 1). Description accurate. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, all mod cons, really comfortable bed - with good bed linen and a good sized shower. Ideal for business or leisure use. Some road noise (albeit I had the window open) - but actually that quietened down considerably by the time I went to bed. Will definitely check availability if I am down that way again. Thank you.

  • We stayed at Linda’s place as we had a wedding at the deer park, it’s super close only 5 minutes in a taxi and a 5 minute drive in to lovely Honiton. Linda’s place is clean, it was easy to check in and She was on hand if we needed her. It’s also lovely and quiet We loved the little toiletries in the bathroom and the tea/coffee and snack supplies that were left in the kitchen for us, nice touch! There is also a folder with local information such as taxis, places to eat etc which was helpful Overall a great place to stay if you are in the area. Thanks Linda

  • We loved our stay at The Nook and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We’ve stayed at a few Airbnb’s now but both agree this was by far our favourite. It was sparkling clean, modern and cosy. When we arrived the Christmas lights were on and there was even a tree! Lots of nice touches to make it feel like a home away from home for us over the Christmas/New Year period. Thanks so much for having us, we’ll definitely be booking again!

  • Roxie house is a unique, stylish and very comfortable place to stay in the beautiful East Devon countryside. Louise and Mike were brilliant generous hosts and made us feel instantly at home. We had everything we needed to cook with and stay comfortably - the wood burner, gorgeous rolltop bath and cosy blankets were perfect! We didn't drive-and found it easy to get sample some of the nearby classy restaurants and pubs around Ottery St Mary and Honiton easily by bus. We had some fabulous walks straight from the door. Such a welcoming place - and meeting the animals was an added treat ! Would highly recommend for a relaxing holiday.

  • Roxie house is the most perfect place to stay to get away from it all. We had three nights away for my birthday and it couldn’t have been more wonderful. The house and hosts were warm and welcoming. We had everything we needed and it was an excellent base for enjoying, walks, beaches and Exeter cathedral. Highly recommend a stay

    Hester2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Roxie House - it was amazing! And Louise and Mike told us in summer it is even more beautiful - so we want to come back! The whole family is super friendly and helpful, we felt really welcome! The house is lovely, cosy and everything you need is there. We travelled by train and bus, which is no problem in this region if you are not in a hurry and accept that you need more time to come from A to B. But Louise and Mike helped us a lot and we could see lovely places like Sidmouth and Beer. We definitly recommend this place to all people who are looking for great nature, lovely people and a peaceful and relaxing holiday!!!

    Lucie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Roxie House was the most wonderful place to stay over Christmas. Our cottage is tucked away behind the high street with easy access to the shops, cafes, restaurants and the train station. I would describe the decor as bohemian, with lots of books and games, plants and a piano. We have one cat (male, neutered). He is very good natured. We would appreciate you feeding him for us whilst you stay, thank you. The land adjacent to the property is currently being developed and occasionally work is carried out during the weekend. We hope you enjoy your stay.
This is our family home, therefore it is well equipped with things to make your stay comfortable and interesting. It is up to you to decide whether it will meet your requirements if you have young children. There are changes of floor level, and I no longer have infant equipment and there are a small number of things stored at a low height. We haven’t lived here long and there are jobs I expect to tackle in the future, like the bathroom, but it is a comfortable, serviceable and welcoming home. The mattresses in all the bedrooms were new in 2019. The bathroom is upstairs, as are the 3 bedrooms. There is a very slight change of level in the floor near the top of the stairs and then two steps into the main bedroom. The main bedroom is bright and spacious with a king sized wooden bed, french windows and a juliet balcony (this is not load bearing). The middle bedroom has a midi bunk bed with a 6ft long mattress at the bottom and a 6.5ft long mattress at the top. The third bedroom has a single bed with a 6ft long mattress. Downstairs there is a good sized kitchen with the dining room open to the side. We have an eye level oven, a separate electric hob and a fridge freezer. Please note we do not have a microwave. The dining room has our piano, a large oak table and 2 benches seating 6. There are two steps up to the living room, which has french windows onto the garden. There is a 4 seater sofa that can be a comfortable (flat based) single bed. There is also an armchair and a beanbag. There is a TV in the cupboard between the bookcases, we have a NOW subscription, and a dvd player. There is also a wooden cupboard containing lots of board games. There are books all round the house, please feel free to read any whilst you are staying here.
Honiton is a lovely town well equipped with amenities and nestles between two areas of outstanding natural beauty. The beautiful beaches of East Devon and Dorset Jurassic Coast are 20-30 minutes drive. And similarly the city of Exeter and all its amenities is about a 20 minute drive.
  • Very clean and cosy! Anna left us a welcome card and freshly baked bread! Lovely little home, would definitely stay again and would highly recommend!

We enjoyed spending time in the lovely garden. There was also a living room with board games, piano etc that we were hoping to make use of but didn't have time! The photos didn't do the room justice - it was lovely and bright. The bed was really comfortable - we got a great nights sleep followed by a really fabulous breakfast with lots of options. Thank you Helen!

Was great to find something reasonably priced that allowed us to spend time together, but have our own space and separate bedrooms. Communication was good and check in very simple. All round , would highly recommend.

Beautiful setting over looking their fishing lakes and the wider countryside. Christian and his wife (and their dogs) were all welcoming and super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Weaver Mill is the ideal couple's getaway. A stylish open plan converted barn in the grounds of a pleasant Devon working farm.
A private, country retreat overlooking a lake and green fields. We are located close to many gorgeous places to visit such as Killerton, Knightshayes and Hestercombe Gardens. We are only 30 minutes from the coast.
Weaver Mill is very peaceful. Other than the odd passing tractor and visits from our three jack Russell’s...
  • Very comfortable, convenient location

  • Amazing little place, great location, really homely place to get away from it all.

  • Thank you. We had a lovely time. The cottage was perfect for us and all the facilities brilliant. Perfect for our dog as there is a private balcony and lawn nearby and far from the road so felt really safe letting her have a run around. Amazing log burner here and the fire was on when we arrived which was a lovely touch. Angela and family were really welcoming to us and available and we saw them a few times during our stay. The cottage was also sparkling clean, a massive thumbs up. Thank you.

  • A cosy, peaceful, well equipped, home from cottage set in picturesque surroundings. Centrally situated for outdoor activities in Devon.

    Jane2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was fantastic and easily located for a wedding we were attending locally. We used it as a base for the following days to explore Devon--including a day trip to Lundy Island! Angela was very helpful when we were struggling a bit to find a taxi company to take us to the wedding, but we managed in the end with her help and quick responses. We especially enjoyed the quiet at night and visits from the pups in the mornings. :)

Luxury Cottage annexe in the heart of the Devon countryside. Spacious and modern with all the amenities to escape, relax and explore the beautiful local area. Our own eggs, honey and marmalade make up part of a locally sourced breakfast basket. We are on the outskirts of a thriving village with easy access from the M5 (J28). Lovely walking from the door and in the local area. Ideal for couples or young families. Minimum 2 nights.
The cottage is open plan with living and kitchen area downstairs with a large mezzanine floor comprising bedroom and bathroom ( bath and shower) upstairs. There is a king- sized bed and optional junior bed and / or travel cot upstairs and a full- sized double bed settee downstairs to provide maximum flexibility. The cottage was completely rebuilt and refitted three years ago. In cooler days the cottage benefits from a large woodburner which makes the whole space comfortable and cosy. It's easy to use and we will help you ...and provide the logs!
We live in a pretty rural area on the edge of a friendly mid- Devon village with pub, post office, church and primary school. However we are only 3 miles from the M5 so there is excellent access to Exeter all parts of Devon, Somerset and even Cornwall. The nearest coastal village/ resort is Beer - 40 mins drive. This is not a particularly touristy area but offers a taste of 'real' Devon as well as good access to Dartmoor, Exmoor, and both North and South coasts. For more specialist interests there is a gliding centre nearby and also several coarse and trout fisheries on the doorstep as well as the full range of other rural pursuits.
  • I can highly recommend this place. The accommodation is very spacious and is modern and clean. On arrival, we found fresh farm eggs and delicious bacon, as well as bread, butter and milk. The unit is very comfortable and you don’t need to worry about getting cold in Autumn or winter. We actually turned off the heating and relied on the wood burner for warmth, which was ample for our family. Sally is a wonderful host and told us a bit about the house (a manor!) and it’s ancient history. We will definitely be back.

    Dewdney2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely wonderful location and accommodation. Sally was a fantastically thoughtful and accommodating host. Thank you kindly for the lovely breakfast and the toiletries.

    Lesley Anne2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Once again we had a great stay. Sally and Miles are great. Just in the background if you need a hand to light the fire etc but you would never know they are there! Fantastic grounds of the house and the addition of a treehouse to watch the sun go down was amazing

    Jake2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sally & her husband were lovely hosts, there home is beautiful and has everything you need, we will definitely go back, the extra touches of breakfast were very much appreciated.

    Lesley2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is the most welcoming host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and honestly couldn’t ask for more from the host and the accommodation. It is such a cosy, welcoming place and so well equipped, right down to the thoughtful breakfast basket. We would definitely recommend and return to this delightful place.

    Julia2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely annex. Sally and Miles were happy for us to explore the gardens and when our extended family visited they played in the amazing tree house!

    Claire2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Another AMAZING trip. We never want to leave. The small extra touches make it so special. Such a lovely welcoming couple who really couldn't do enough for us. The toys were a great hit with both our children enjoying them. Cant wait to return.

Lovely appointed rooms in a sixteenth century country home. Two rooms - one double, one twin - with a private sitting room and private bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast made from local ingredients included. Once booked, the guest area will be your exclusive space and will not be available to anyone else.
The guest wing at Hackland Retreat is part of the country house but is closed off for privacy.
We live in a farming area - there are often tractors on the road and sheep and cows grazing in fields nearby. We support cattle on our four acres during the summer and have resident ducks on our pond. We have a lively and happy bird population. There are nice walks near the house on country lanes and we are near Killerton Estate.
  • If you want one of those B and B's that have bedrooms stripped down to the point of looking like modern 3 star hotels (bland, with those ridiculous pieces of cloth draped across the bottom of the bed, and too many pointless pillows) this is not for you. If on the other hand you want somewhere characterful, comfortable, friendly, full of books, slightly wonky walls, and rescued antique furniture, go for it. Sarah is very friendly and helpful, and makes an ace cooked breakfast.

    Kirsty2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting in a very convenient location, Sarah is an excellent host and made me feel at home in her house for the duration of my stay.

    Katie2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, two daughters and I stayed at Sarah's as we were attending the nearby Upton Barn for a wedding. We wish we had stayed for more than one night and not just as a base for the wedding as it was a wonderful guest space in Sarah's beautiful home. The breakfast in the morning was super. I don't think anything would have been too much trouble for Sarah, a very generous host. Would thoroughly reccomend to other travellers.

    Bex2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great host with a quaint cottage atmosphere.

    ALAN2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a warm and friendly host, who makes the most incredible breakfast! The space was exactly as described, and very comfortable. Sarah is very accommodating and generous and we would totally recommend this space.

    Jayne2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was so beautiful and our space in it was fantastic. Sarah was such a kind host and went out of her way to look after us during the stay. It’s so rare to be offered a cooked breakfast as a vegan- and it was delicious! Highly recommend staying here!

    Viva2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place is fantastic - it’s comfortable and clean and brilliant if you need two bedrooms. You have your own area with two separate bedrooms as well as a bathroom, toilet room and sofa area with kettle etc. Sarah was totally flexible about check in and cooked the loveliest breakfast. Thank you for a great stay!

    Zara2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a wonderful place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful in a beautiful house. The guest wing was private and very comfortable and I slept very well. Sarah was lovely to chat to and made such an effort with real coffee, fresh orange juice and homemade musli and fruit (I was in a rush for work so asked for something light). I would definitely stay here again

  • We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. Tracey made us feel immediately welcome, and we soon started to wish we actually lived in these gorgeous hills. A network of cute public footpaths running along small rivers or across meadows and small woodlands conveniently starts right in front of the house, so that even without a car we had fantastic time exploring the area. The house was great too, very well equipped and with a view on the neighbouring meadows and woodland.

  • One of the best Air B&B's I've had the pleasure to stay in! We enjoyed a glorious weekend at Tracey's apartment the facilities were awesome, it had everything we needed and we certainly made the most of the sites. From enjoying the fabulous pub food, skydiving, taking in the beautiful views with early morning runs and greeting the friendly alpacas and Tracey’s adorable pet cats every day. We couldn't wish for a better host than Tracey - From Cary, Chris & Gav...thank you so much! See you again soon :o)

    Cary-Ann2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay here!! The setting was beautiful, the flat clean, cosy and stylish, and going outside seeing the curious faces of the alpacas was a great start to the morning! We were here for a wedding, and this was the perfect base for us; we’d also all love to come back and have time to explore (and lie in the field with the alpacas!!) thanks, hope to see you again! X

The Cabin is a delightful getaway nestled into a stunning woodland which provides a great base for Blackdown Hills explorations. The cabin shares nine acres of woodland with a friendly off grid community, but is positioned in its own secluded woodland glade. Perfect for nature lovers looking for somewhere to retreat, to do nothing, to contemplate or go and do, who are not afraid of walking five minutes through the woods, over little bridges and a beautiful rough path to get to the cabin.
The A Corn is a oak timber frame "Hansel & Greta" little house made by Jake Jackson a Devon famed oak timber framer. It was built using traditional techniques and materials It's quite small and comfortable. The water on tap is delicious as it comes from our own spring. If booking in the winter months please refer to WINTER NOTES further down on OTHER THINGS TO NOTE It's on the edge of the woods where oak and beech trees reign over an array of grasses, moss, trees and shrubs typical of the area, overlooking a valley of old pastures. The now boggy areas were fish ponds run by monks in the 1600's There are untouched areas of slushy ground where trees grow, age and fall. Next to the cabin there is the bath house with an excellent view . There are badger sets near by and a colony of bats lives in the woods. It's a birders paradise!
  • Beautiful little cabin in such a pretty location, perfect for a little getaway! Amazingly warm and comfortable even during a wet and grey February weekend. Very lovely and friendly host. 5 starts from us, we’ll certainly be back!

Our yurts are covered with canvas and lined with felt to keep you dry and cosy. Badger has a large double bed, two large singles and two small singles. All the beds are handmade from wood and finished with woollen roll mats, wool duvets and pillows and cotton bed linen. Please note towels are not provided.
We are situated in the middle of a triangle of three villages: Kentisbeare, Blackborugh and Ashill. It is rural Devon with beautiful hedgerows, rolling hills, sheep galore and a slower pace of life. You can walk to at least two pub should you wish and drive to many more. There is great walking, cycling and horse riding nearby. Blackdown Yurts is ideally located for trips to Honiton and the south Devon coast, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Exeter and slightly further afield the north Devon coast. Some of our guests venture to the Jurassic coast at Lyme Regis and Charmouth to hunt fossils while others have explored into Cornwall to the Eden Project. It's really up to you what you get up to.
  • We can't describe how much we loved out stay. Katie has been so thoughtful with so many finishing touches and really went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our time with at Blackdown. The yurt itself (we stayed in badger) is ADORABLE. We had a log burner inside the yurt as well as a private kitchen area with oven and stove tops, a fire pit outside, compost toilet and luxury style picnic bench to ourselves, not to mention the magnificent barn which had further cooking equipment, sofas and a huge wooden table. The toilet facilities are stunning, especially compared to what you usually expect at a campsite. Everything that you can possibly think of has been considered (even marshmallows to roast on the fire are provided). Stunning, peaceful scenery and lots to do in the surrounding areas. We can't recommend this place enough.

  • Katie and mark were very welcoming. The yurt was really nice and comfy plus lots of space. The boys loved running around the large open space and making a camp fire!

Beautiful 3 bedroom cottage set in the East Devon countryside. Close to amenities and the coast but also secluded within its own grounds to relax and enjoy peace and quiet.
The cottage is beautiful and snuggled just off the road facing over the beautiful valley. Large kitchen and dining room, a delightful snug lounge and three comfortable bedrooms make Gobsore Cottage the perfect place to stay
Gobsore cottage is in the perfect position for exploring East Devon. Just a 15 minute drive to the coast of either Sidmouth or Seaton, close to the historic market town of Honiton. Local supermarkets are also close
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, It really is a beautiful home in a great location for visiting all of East Devon. We saw in the New Year in the fantastic open plan kitchen and enjoyed all that the cottage had to offer. Carrie is a great host and answered any questions we had very quickly. Thank you for a great stay, would recommend!

  • A really lovely place to stay. The huge kitchen was a highlight, and it really was the perfect country cottage escape, and a great place to share Christmas with our family.

  • A lovely old cottage with fantastic views of the countryside. It is very spacious and full of character. We also found it lovely and quiet. It is literally just off the road as drive up the hill, the sign is on the gate which is open so it is easy to drive past it

  • Really lovely and very spacious cottage. The listing doesn't do it justice. The master bedroom is huge, and the kitchen is great. Everything was nice and clean. Big garden for the kids to explore, and lots of wildlife to see. Nice views. Very close to supermarket. You are seconds outside Honiton but it does feel surprisingly rural, you have no neighbours. Before going I was concerned about the location on an A-road but the place is very well double-glazed and you can't hear any traffic. The only downside is that there is no pavement on the main road so you can't walk out from the property, you have to drive. We spent most of our days driving to places like Sidmouth (amazing fish & chips from White Horse Cafe and rock pools on the beach for the kids), Lyme Regis and Killerton National Trust. I was glad I'd looked at the location of the cottage in advance on Streetview otherwise I would never have recognised it from the road - that nice yellow door faces the rear of the property so not visible from the road! We put the postcode into our TomTom and it took us quite far down the road from the cottage. Carrie was an excellent host (even though we never met!) - she responded very quickly to all enquiries and was very helpful with everything. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be back!

  • Beautiful cottage with garden and conservatory. It was perfect for our family of 6. Kitchen was well equipped, house was clean and spacious. Would I book it again? Oh yes! Something about thatched cottages that I love.
