  • A great apartment, really comfortable and in a brilliant location with a beautiful view. Enjoyed having so much useful stuff in the kitchen too - weighing scales, measuring cups, baking trays - meant we could do a bit of cooking and baking during our time away! Check-in instructions were promptly provided and easy to follow. Thanks Amy for a great stay.

  • The flat was beautifully clean and well-equipped and made even better by the thoughtful gifts left for us. Amy is a great host and her communications were prompt and informative. It’s a beautiful area for walking and we would recommend the footpath to Brancaster Staithe and the White Horse pub for drink and dinner.

  • Beautiful apartment in a perfect location. So close to the beach which was perfect for long walks and relaxing! We loved it and will definitely be back!

  • This apartment is spacious, spotless and well located to Brancaster beach and the local award winning Ship Inn. We didn’t hear a peep whilst there apart from the howling wind however this did not dampen our stay. The apartment is nearby to neighbouring Burnham Market and Thornham which made visiting other places nice and easy. Amy was in good contact before and during our stay. Thanks for a great stay and the bottle of vino!

  • The Old Bakery is a wonderful place to stay. Really cute little village with the beach just down the road and a great pub (The Ship) even closer. A welcome pack including coffee pods, tea, milk, water and lemon cake was a really nice touch, very much appreciated as we arrived on a very wet and windy afternoon. The property is inviting and cosy yet also stylish. From the Nespresso machine to the Dualit kettle to the GHD hairdryer to the Designers Guild linens, attention has been paid to every detail. The property was exceptionally clean with plenty of fluffy towels provided. Caroline was a great host, excellent communication and absolutely lovely in person. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Exceptional AIRBNB. This is a very stylish house with a very well equipped and pretty kitchen, an extremely comfortable bed, spacious living room and it has everything you need for a great stay. It is close to a number of walks directly from the door ( including to the massive beach) and it is also only a short walk to a good pub that has very good food. It was our first time in north Norfolk and would wholly recommend the cottage and the area.

    Lesley2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous cottage and very welcoming and lovely host!. We stayed from Thursday to Sunday and loved it. Caroline provided on arrival a beautiful tray of tea and cake which was very welcome after travelling 3 hours. The cottage was beautiful, very tastefully decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean, lovely ensuite bathroom and fully equipped kitchen with everything you could want or need. Very close to the beautiful Brancaster beach and also the Ship Inn where the food is excellent. Would highly recommend and will return hopefully when Caroline's beautiful garden is in full bloom!

Unlike many other English towns which are dominated by multiples, Burnham Market has a traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, fish shop and chemist for all the necessities of everyday life, but there are also over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops, selling a wide range of exciting deli products, vibrant and stylish accessories for home and garden, smart clothes shops, and books old and new. There are some great places to eat, the best being the renowned Hoste Arms which is a 17th Century old coaching house and is open all day. As a result Burnham Market attracts many celebrities and cosmopolitan visitors, getting very crowded in the holiday periods, earning the nickname “Chelsea-on-Sea.” There is an annual summer music festival with professional musicians entertaining residents and holiday makers in various venues such as the lovely church of Burnham Westgate at the western edge of the village. From the end of November the village is beautifully lit with Christmas lights and it makes the perfect place to visit for Christmas shopping.

  • Great location and beautiful little cottage. Well equipped with everything you could need and the open fireplace in the lounge was just wonderful. I would keep in mind as it's a character property it does have lower doors ways and a steep staircase, not a problem for us though. Also Burnham Market is a great place for foodies and is only 15mins away from a great beach for dogs. Highly recommended.

There's a super large field that leads to the deli/cafe where they welcome dogs and have an amazing menu with delicious food. • Beautifully cosy cottage tucked away in the small village of docking. Me as my partner took our dog and found it the ideal location to explore the north Norfolk cost from with beaches and costal walks only a few miles away. A Lidl supermarket was close by and a spar in the village for any last minute bits. Hosts were extremely hospitable as we were treated to numerous extras upon our arrival which went down a treat! Would defiantly recommend and return.

At its centre is a large village green surrounded by striking Queen Anne and Georgian buildings, with 2 churches that lie at each end of its broad main street.Unlike many other English towns which are dominated by multiples, Burnham Market has a traditional post office, butcher, baker, hardware shop, fish shop and chemist for all the necessities of everyday life, but there are also over 30 highly original independent and specialist shops, selling a wide range of exciting deli products, vibrant and stylish accessories for home and garden, smart clothes shops, and books old and new.

Philip's place is located in Holme-next-the-Sea, England, United Kingdom. You are staying a few minutes walk from Holme Beach - at the last house on Beach Road (the original Peddars Way) - so can swim in the sea at dawn, during the day, at dusk or even by the starlight. Walk with your dog for miles. You'll be right by the Norfolk Coastal path, Holme Dunes National Nature Reserve, the Bird Observatory and the Hunstanton Golf Club championship links course. You can hear the sea from your front door. We are in a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), where the Wash meets the North Sea. It's a couple of minutes to the Norfolk Coastal path - so walkers walk to Thornham, Brancaster or further and hop back on the bus which drops you at the top of Beach Road on the A149. You'll soak in the dunes, marsh and sea - or walk along the Hun river and see resident and migrating birds. You could also hear the natterjack toads and see butterflies, moths and dragonflies, as well as a large number of interesting plants including mulleins flowering in our wild garden. If you are a golfer, you can play Hunstanton Golf Club's superb championship links course. It's 125 years old and rated as one of Britain & Ireland's 'Top 100' courses, with the rolling fairways nestling in a stunning landscape of dunes and links grassses. You can also play at the Heacham Manor. If you secure a round at the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club at Brancaster, you'll need to park your car and walk when the tide is high. Various military remains from WWII can be seen at Holme, including the remains of a target-railway used to train artillery. Much earlier remains have also been discovered including an ancient walkway, Roman pottery and saxon fishtraps. In 1998, a well-preserved Bronze Age timber circle, now known as ‘Seahenge’ was uncovered by high tides. The timbers were treated in the Mary Rose laboratory and are now in the museum at King's Lynn. King's Lynn was a Hanseatic town - and is worth a visit. Seahenge 2 is difficult to discern - and often covered by sand. Walk to the cliffs at Hunstanton for fossil hunting and to see one of 2 boat wrecks easily visible at low tide. The other is on Holme Beach between Gore Point and the Firs. Birdwatchers may see wintering thrushes on the sea buckthorn, or avocets, a beautiful black-and-white wader with upturned bill and long legs, on the freshwater. Wheatears and warblers are common in spring and finches and thrushes in the autumn - sometimes there'll be scarcer migrants such as the ring ouzel, wryneck, yellow-browed warbler or barred warbler. It's a great place to seawatch for gannets, skuas, terns and divers. Knot, golden plover and oyster catchers can be seen on the beach. Our wild garden is alive - with our sparrows and starlings nesting in the roof. It makes the front door and the bench a little untidy sometimes! If they have a safe migration, you will also hear the cuckoos in spring and the turtledoves in summer. ✯ 2019: Cuckoos arrived safely - and one is still calling in July. ✯ The turtledove have safely arrived from their perilous migration. You'll hear their distinctive purring and may be lucky enough see them too. ✯ On warmer nights, the Natterjack toads call. ✯ This is the only part of the east coast of England where the sun sets over the sea, providing lovely views in both summer and winter. Our favourite places to see the sunset are a stroll up the coastal path to Gore Point, or a few minutes over the golf course to a seat on the top of dunes. Visit one of the great houses - Sandringham (the Queen's residence), Holkham Hall, Houghton ( the Henry Moore exhibition), Felbrigg, Blickling Hall and Oxburgh Hall. Shop locally: Lots of choice from: - the award winning Hunstanton Deli, England's largest joke shop, Richard's Cook Shop, the best fish and chips at Fishers of Hunstanton, several proper barbers and more at Hunstanton - Drove Orchards (farm shop with swallows nesting, pick your own and apple juice, fishmongers, smokery, ice cream, excellent fish & chips at Eric's, good food at the Yurt, a butchers and more) - Thornham Deli - The General Store Ringstead with over 70 Real Ales, brewed and crafted in Norfolk and 9 rooms and 2 courtyards of eclectic new and old Hidden Treasures. - Shops at Burnham Deepdale & Burnham Market - The Real Ale Shop on the Holkham Estate - brewing on site - Wells Next the Sea - classic harbour where you can go crabbing - Holt - charming Georgian town with great shops, especially Bakers & Larners - established 1770 - an exceptional department store, stocked with good taste (closed Sundays) and lots of eating places Eat out: There's lots of good food: - The Neptune (book in advance) - The Dabbling Duck (book in advance) - Drove Farm - The Yurt - late breakfasts and good food - Eric's - great fish & chips, homemade tartar sauce and Elvis Juice! - The White Horse at Brancaster - fabulous views across the marshes and perfect for crab, salad and new potatoes in season (book in advance for a view from the dining room, or take you chance for the terrace or the bar). - The NWT visitor centre at Cley - good for coffee and a cake and views across the reserve. You can walk to: - the White Horse at Holme for lunch or supper - the Old Boathouse Cafe at Old Hunstanton for breakfast and other meals - The Ancient Mariner at Old Hunstanton - the trad caff at the Lighthouse Cafe, Hunstanton - further along the coast path to Thornham - for a range of eateries - and inland to the Gin Trap at Ringstead. Weber kettle BBQ on request. In the words of our guests: "Amazing place in a beautiful location, close to the beach with lovely walks all around. Great communication and everything was so easy, from check in to departure. The studio is comfortable, cosy and absolutely gorgeous, even better than the photos!" "Delightful accommodation in a lovely setting and perfect location. If you are looking for a place that has the feeling of being miles from anywhere but which has a pub/restaurant and bus stop a shortish walk away, this is for you. A longer walk along the beach will provide you with even more choice of places to eat and drink. Truly ‘the best of both worlds’." "A real gem! Very cosy and comfortable accommodation in a brilliant location. Spotlessly clean with plenty of throws and personal touches to make you feel at home and welcome. The host is friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I will definitely be returning." "Book this place now!! It was great, me and my girlfriend stayed here for one night and we really wish we had stayed longer! Location is quiet, right next to the beach, a 3 minute walk. We walked down to the beach last night and it was beautiful, empty and great. We didn't meet Ermine, but communication was fantastic, check in details were great and amenities are perfect. Book this place now, it's perfect." "We had a wonderful time in this lovely place - it has everything you need and beautiful coastal surroundings for exploring and walking. Ermine is a really thoughtful host and there are many thoughtful touches such as a well stocked bathroom cabinet, dresser stocked with teas and coffee and the microwave oven. If you need a peaceful getaway this is it!" ✯✯✯✯✯
