For adventurous travelers who will appreciate the 10-minute panoramic walk to the house (we will transport your luggage and groceries by tractor). The magical view of the world below with the coast on the horizon which can be enjoyed from every room of the house and from the entire olive orchard with its walking paths and plunge pool with waterfall. Being a pedestrian village, Metato is quiet and peaceful. Yet, the beach and many great places to visit are a short drive away- Pisa, Florence, Lucca, the marble quarries of Cararra, Pietrasanta, Viareggio.... Guests have exclusive access to the pool and property. Metato is a friendly litttle village in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. There is a quaint family-run restaurant in the village that serves local homemade dishes at a very reasonable price. Our pedestrian village tends to attract kind people in search of peace and quiet and a proximity with nature. Time seems to go by more slowly here. It is a perfect base for families who want to explore Tuscany and the beaches of the Versilia coast. The home is in a beautiful, quiet location on a hill surrounded by olive orchards and vineyards just a 10-minute walk from the parking lot. Explore the medieval village of Metato where fireflies and breathtaking views await. Take an invigorating hike or head to the beaches a short drive away. There is a parking lot at the base of the village where you can park the car. The village itself is pedestrian but I am happy to greet guests at the parking lot on their arrival to transport their luggage, groceries and whoever wants to ride to the house with my little Italian tractor! The nearest airport is Pisa (45-minutes by car). All the major car rental places can be found there. The nearest train station is Viareggio.

From the garden, with umbrella, coffee table and chairs, you can access the covered veranda with bench, armchairs and coffee table ideal for breakfasts and aperitifs, bathroom. Living area with open kitchen equipped with dishwasher and electric oven. First floor; 2 bedrooms (queen-size bed 160x200 and double bed 140x200), bathroom with large shower cubicle. The interiors blends wooden beams, steel and glass with a swinging hammock, designer lamps, a turntable and an extensive library of art and illustration books. The bedroom is accessed via an internal staircase, while the apartment is located in the attic (3rd floor) of a historic building: the staircase is a bit steep, so unfortunately it may not be comfortable for everyone.

Il Troncolo is a beautiful farmhouse with the typical architecture of Tuscan farm buildings, built in the mid-1800s. The farmhouse with its large garden is located within the extraordinary scenery of the private Migliarino Natural Park, owned by the Salviati family since 1500. The fully fenced farmhouse, formerly used as the residence of the gamekeeper, was renovated in 2007 respecting tradition and preserving the original architectural elements.

The house is in the center of the village but in a very quiet residential area. It has an outdoor space on two sides with a garden and gazebo for lunches/dinners. You can park your car inside the property or outside in front of the house. On the ground floor, there is a living room with sofa bed, air conditioning, kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs, there are two air-conditioned double bedrooms, one with a terrace, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom.
