Mökki means 'cottage' in the Nordic language of Finnish. Please enjoy your time in a special place surrounded by nature. Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-machi, which is blessed with forests, lakes and snow in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture. Nearby are the natural wonders of the Kurohime Kogen, Lake Nojiri and Togakushi. You are free to use the entire property, including the comfortable building renovated with natural materials such as cedar, cypress, and plaster, the natural garden with its seasonal scenery, and the forest with its flowing stream.In the forest, which has been well maintained, you can see birds, squirrels and martens, and you can enjoy walks looking for wild vegetables and mushrooms, as well as swings and hammocks. We have also paid close attention to the interior design of the rooms and the kitchen utensils so that you can enjoy 'living'. In the gazebo by the stream, you can enjoy a BBQ or a bonfire without worrying about the weather. It's ideal as a base for hiking, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding and golf during the green season, and for winter sports during the snow season. Nowadays, it has become popular as a secluded hideaway café with its carefully roasted coffee beans. The separate building, "Misa Coffee Hanare", has the same concept as Misa Coffee. We also self-built a sustainable building with as little environmental, social and economic impact as possible. In spring, you wake up to the golden colour of the rape blossoms. In summer, you can relax in the sunlight filtering through the green leaves of the larch forest. In autumn, the white flowers of buckwheat cover the entire plateau. In winter, the sky is full of stars, and the next morning you can also see diamond dust. You can enjoy the changing seasons of nature through the large windows.

Renovated to be open, modern and spacious our chalet is only 20 minutes drive from Nagano City, Togakushi and Iizuna ski resorts. It is less than 5 minutes walk (or 1 min drive) to some cafes and restaurants and the new Nagano Forest Village. There, you can buy local produce, craft beers & wine, and walk around the beautiful area. We recommend driving to explore more around the highlands and snow tires (or chains) are a must have during winter. We are 1080m above sea level, its cool in summer!
