Mökki means 'cottage' in the Nordic language of Finnish. Please enjoy your time in a special place surrounded by nature. Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-machi, which is blessed with forests, lakes and snow in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture. Nearby are the natural wonders of the Kurohime Kogen, Lake Nojiri and Togakushi. You are free to use the entire property, including the comfortable building renovated with natural materials such as cedar, cypress, and plaster, the natural garden with its seasonal scenery, and the forest with its flowing stream.In the forest, which has been well maintained, you can see birds, squirrels and martens, and you can enjoy walks looking for wild vegetables and mushrooms, as well as swings and hammocks. We have also paid close attention to the interior design of the rooms and the kitchen utensils so that you can enjoy 'living'. In the gazebo by the stream, you can enjoy a BBQ or a bonfire without worrying about the weather. It's ideal as a base for hiking, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding and golf during the green season, and for winter sports during the snow season. This is a tranquil space inspired by the design of an old Japanese house.The living room features a large sunken kotatsu-style hearth where you can enjoy meals and drinks.There is also a four-seat counter bar. With Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort, Shiga Kogen, Madarao Kogen Ski Resort, and Tozari Onsen Ski Resort nearby, it is the perfect base for winter sports.There are eight golf courses that can be reached in about 30 minutes, including the Madarao Country Club, which is a 5-minute drive away during the green season, and there are also many day-use hot spring facilities.The owner lives on the right side of the building after going up the front entrance, can be contacted at any time, and understands English at the level of everyday conversation.During the green season, fresh vegetables from our own garden can be harvested at any time, and you can also enjoy a barbecue on the gazebo in the garden.The garden is also spacious, so you can enjoy a short walk or the like.Iiyama is famous for its green asparagus, which can be enjoyed from May to July, and there is a roadside station nearby where you can enjoy fresh vegetables and delicious soba noodles.

There is a smoking table in the garden. There are no restaurants nearby because it is far from the city. Please have dinner before you arrive or bring your food. The kitchen includes water, a gas stove, dishes, pots, and frying pans. There is also a fire pit for barbecuing in the garden. This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience. Enjoy cooking with a counter kitchen with a view, condiments and cooking utensils. (There is no equipment for BBQ)
