In the summer, the beach is also about a 10-minute drive away. [This is a guest house that is a renovated apartment room.There is also a bath, toilet, etc. in the room, and you don't have to share anything with other guests.] [Located in a small, quiet town, within walking distance. There aren't many shops, but it's a relaxing guest house where you can experience blending in with the locals.] This guesthouse, located directly above a retro coffee shop, is a place where you can read books. There is a Starbucks Coffee just a short walk from the guesthouse. There is also an attached library. In addition, at our guesthouse, children up to 6 years old sleeping in the same bed as their parents stay for free. Please note that there is no TV or washing machine due to the size of the room. Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. My parents, Kisaku and Shuko Tanai (Japanese), live next to the house, so please let me know if you need anything.

As the owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, we will do our best to answer questions and provide advice about walking the ancient trail, as well as provide transport when needed.We can also provide a personal guide, so please feel free to ask.
