“What a great place and Joanne was a host that goes above and beyond. This was not you typical bottle wine and a few snacks, it was all sorts of goodies together in a halloween bag, cookies, Koozie, mug, T-shirt, lip balm, and so many more I can’t remember them all. Then there were enough fixin’s for breakfast the first morning, other herbs, spices, coffee, a little of this, a little of that, and of course, the obligatory bottle of wine. Thank you Joanne. The house has two nice bedrooms, kitchen, living room, enclosed lanai, screened porch, cute and very interesting back yard right on a canal leading to the Chazahowitzka River. A good size upper deck on the level of the yard and house is a great area for sitting or having any meal you want. That leads down to a narrower dock to launch one of the many kayaks on the premises, or the canoe. Lots of paddles, cushions, life preservers, etc., anything you could want for a day on the river. Joanne was very responsive and the property is close to most things you could want, breakfast places and other restaurants, some on the river near Homosassa Springs, the nature preserve is definitely worth a good half day, Walmart and all the vestigages of civilization. If there is any downside, it is that the house is located on a medium busy road and traffic can be heard. Otherwise, this is a perfect spot.”

“Our family of 5, my wife and I and 3 teens had a relaxing and adventurous stay. It's a great base for exploring outdoor places in the area. It's close to Weeki Watchee, a cool old Florida attraction with "mermaids" and another beautiful river you can kayak. Homassasa Springs wildlife center is also close and a great place to see and learn about Florida wildlife. Crystal river and Rainbow springs are all close too. We drove to Pine Island beach to watch a pretty sunset too. Cooking was easy, kitchen was well equipped. Washer and drier were nice to have. We got wet a lot in the river/springs. If you like the outdoors it was perfect. We paddled the kayaks to 7 Sisters Spring and up Baird creek to "The Crack" I recommend bringing masks if your like us and like seeing the beauty under water in the springs, but even just paddling the canals and river was awesome. Ran into otters a couple times. Always fun to watch. Last note the wifi speeds were excellent. Something that has bothered me other places. My 16 yr old gamer son was very pleased he could game online so if you need to work remotely it's another plus.”
