The Cartlodge is a converted timber framed Suffolk Cartlodge situated within the quiet and picturesque countryside of rural Suffolk. Approached by a long private driveway and surrounded by open fields, access to the accommodation is via the external staircase. Donkeys Rosie and Mollie, Joanna the sheep and chickens roam peacefully in the adjoining meadows. The Cartlodge makes an ideal base for exploring the countryside or for just a quite peaceful break.
“Alyson and Ian are exceptionally hospitable hosts and lovely people. The place itself is set in serene, peaceful surroundings. The pond nearby is lovely from where to see the sunset and sunrise. We loved interacting with Molly and Rosy, the donkeys as well as Joanna the sheep. The apartment has everything one could need and is lovely. We couldn't have asked for more!”

“We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Bee's studio. The place was spotless, bed was comfy and the place was very peaceful. The eggs and essentials in the fridge were a lovely touch, too. The surroundings are simply stunning, and we loved having the chickens and dogs around too - they were all so friendly. As an aside, I also left some clothes at Bee's place by accident, which she's helpfully posted back to me - going above and beyond to cater! Would highly recommend.”
If you are looking for a retreat from the outside world, away from WIFI and TV, this is the place for you. Set in the garden of our house, but screened by shrubs and trees to provide privacy, the cottage is a haven of peace. We have a large variety of birds who visit the garden, and you might also meet the occasional bottle fed lamb gambling about. Our three dogs will also be keen to meet you. We are always happy to introduce our guests to our amazing sheep, chickens and pony if wanted.
“Nicola was a fantastic host. Thorough and quick communication and very hospitable. The accommodation was cute and cosy and had all the necessary amenities. Nicola took us to see the animals she owns and that really added to the experience. Thank you!”
