“We stayed at Stable Cottage for two nights on our tour of the south of England and we had a great time. It is a lovely old cottage with all the modern comforts. Great beds, great shower and bath and very good Wi-Fi reception in every room. Emma spoiled us rotten with all her homemade food. Brownies, freshly baked bread, marmalade, granola and much more. We ordered a meal from her one night and ate the most wonderful steak and ale pie with apple/blackberry crumble and custard as dessert. After a long day it was so wonderful to have great food waiting for us! There are lots of great sites nearby. Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Osbourne House, Mottisfont and New Forest. Go here and be pampered by Emma. We cannot recommend this place enough!”
Castle Garden Cottage is a 16th century Thatched Cob Cottage tucked away in the grounds of our home, with stunning views of the river Avon Valley. Woodgreen is a beautiful village within the New Forest National Park with its friendly pub /superb restaurant and village shop. Castle Garden Cottage is the perfect secluded hideaway with its own garden and garden furniture, so you can sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful evening sunsets or just stroll in the woodland glades of the forest.
“I went to Karen's place for three nights with my golden retriever, Honey. Karen had left some tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk and a homemade walnut cake, which was so thoughtful. The cottage was just the right size for us and I always felt safe and secure there. Although it wasn’t cold in the cottage, I put the electric blanket on before I went to bed and I felt so snugly, just lovely after a day out walking with Honey. The village of Woodgreen is small, with lovely, friendly people. There’s a shop which sells local produce and most things you’d need and a pub which has a very good, not too expensive menu. Also I had some tasty fish and chips from a mobile van which parks up outside the shop late afternoon on a Saturday. Karen and Richard were very good hosts and I really enjoyed talking to both of them. I knew where they were if I needed them but they also let me have the peace and quiet I love so much when I stay in the New Forest. It was a lovely stay, thank you very much Karen and Richard!”
Beautifully renovated rooms for a self contained break in the New Forest with direct access on to the open forest. Great for dog walking or just a yomp to the pub. Perfectly situated for visits to the Cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, quaint New Forest towns such as Lyndhurst and Lymington and historic sites such as Stonehenge. This is a working small holding with cows, chickens, Guinea fowl and horses. The paddocks lead to a wood and stream where you can relax in the shepherds hut.
“My wife and I + dog had a wonderful stay. Lovely property, well equipped, beautifully furnished and there were even some Christmas decorations which were a nice touch. Underfloor heating kept it nice and warm the whole time. Check-in was straightforward and Liz and her husband were on-hand to give recommendations, though mostly left us to it. Excellent walks from the front door (wellies were very much required when we went) or a short drive away.”
