Originally a staging inn, the Squatters Arms is an historic stone building built around 1841, making it one of the oldest homes in the area. We are slowly and lovingly bringing it back to life. 'The Old Kitchen' guestroom was, quite literally, the inn's original kitchen! Some of it's most defining features are still intact: the flagstone floors, the bread oven and huge fireplace with cooking arm where all the meals were prepared. It's now a cosy room for two with all the comforts of home.
“This is a unique historic building run by a delightful family. The private guest room (park your car right at the door) has it’s own wood fire, much appreciated on a -6 winter (June) night? It was on when we arrived, so cosy! Thanks Rae! This new B&B majors in comfort, stylishly renovated to 2020 standards and yet retaining so many unique 180 year old features! The old bread oven, the floor, the walls, to beautifully balance the modern kitchenette with stylish coffee maker and pods, microwave, stemless wine glasses as well as continental breakfast provisions. The bed is firm but very comfortable and the linen is soft cotton, really exceptional quality. Loved the hanging bedside lamps with brand new old fashioned pull cords. Two arm chairs allow you to watch your favourite TV shows on the large flat screen TV which sits on the wall. (That’s only if you don’t want to watch lounging on the bed) The bathroom has the shower over the bath with colourful new bath towels, hand towels, face washers and bath mat and lovely toiletries to enjoy. We also enjoyed a little tour of the property (thanks Rae) and embraced the history of the old Squatters Arms Hotel c1841 Be sure to check out Marshall’s dry stone walls, reminded us of Ireland! Beautiful! This property is unique, delightful, beautifully restored while respectfully maintaining it’s history. The firewood is cut and ready for your cosy night. There has been great attention to detail and we appreciated every bit of it while we sipped our wine in front of the fire. Peaceful, cosy, private. Blissful. Highly recommended for a couple only getaway. Only one hour twenty minutes from our home in Gungahlin and a million miles from care. Book now, you’ll love it too!”

“We had a wonderful stay at Suzie’s cottage over the long weekend. The place has been beautifully renovated and had everything we needed for our stay. The fireplace was well stocked with plenty of wood which was a real bonus for the cold winter nights, and the electric blankets on both beds were also a nice touch. The kitchen and the bathroom were both well stocked with all the basics and Suzie also provided us with a helpful guide to let us know where the best places to eat in Cooma are. Overall we had a fantastic weekend and would definitely recommend Suzie’s place.”

“This place is amazing in a beautiful area. Very peaceful and relaxed vibes. Candice and her husband are very thoughtful and helped us out with everything we asked for. They even helped me out with sending a package to Melbourne. Would go back to enjoy this lovely farm place.”
