We are Riccardo, Cristina, Bianca and Lorenzo, and we came to this place in the forest to begin a simple yet rewarding life, trying to learn from nature. Our home in the deep mountain forest exists in quiet isolation, 1 kilometer from the nearest inhabitants. We offer you an attic apartment hand-renovated by Riccardo and his father. The apartment has a big bed and pull-out couch (both situated under skylights), a living area, kitchenette, private bathroom and a view of the valley.
“From the other reviews, there is very little to add. Unfortunately our stay was conditioned by a truly infamous weather for our entire stay of almost a week. Anyway Riccardo and his family have always been careful to make sure that we don't need anything. Inside the apartment there is everything you need (a small fridge for your supplies, plate for cooking, shower, dishes, etc.) to be able to live there, obviously in due proportions for the type of residence for which it is studied! If you are not used to living without the telephone, the TV or the casino and the frenzy of the city, then perhaps this is not a suitable destination for you. Immersed in nature, the place can be reached on foot in half an hour (not by car) along some paths (it depends on where you leave your car down in the valley!). Realities like these are not easy to find. The view once enjoyed is not something that can be described. Recommended, especially for couples or singles! Thanks to Riccardo, his family and his animals for the hospitality and their company!”
Typical alpine chalet in stone, panoramic ,renovated reusing mostly original materials. Set on three levels, the entrance in the central floor opens onto the livingroom-kitchen with a balcony. Downstairs bedroom, bathroom, large panoramic terrace and garden. Upstairs at the topo floor a confortable sittingroom convertible into 3 beds depending on guest needs. Among the few concessions to modernity the pellet thermostove as heating.
“These 2 days in Martassina were perfect. Total change of scenery, extremely warm welcome, comfortable and cozy cottage (we were 5) with stunning views and beautiful views of the mountains and the river below. Cynzia and Paolo have been very good tips for mountain hikes, beautiful lakes of altitude, sumptuous landscapes. Goat cheeses are delicious, and produced on their farm, where we are welcome. Opportunity to go to the nearby village (Ala di Stura) on foot for shopping, there is everything you need. An unforgettable holiday for the whole family, a place where you want to come back so much you feel good.
“The atmosphere you breathe at Mianda is truly magical and makes you really "unplug", it feels like you are living a fairy tale, thanks to the beauty of the house and the colors, sounds and smells of the forest. The structure of the Mianda is ancient but has been finely restored, furnished in an elegant and romantic style respecting the context in which it is located: a luxuriant grove furrowed by a stream with lots of picturesque waterfalls. We have never felt isolated thanks to the fact that a few meters away there are also other houses, so for us who are used to life as a "condominium" it was easy to settle in this context so wonderfully surrounded by nature. The spaces inside the house are large and welcoming, heated when necessary by means of a powerful pellet stove installed in the kitchen which also allows you to heat the radiators located in the other rooms, including the heated towel rails in the bathroom. La Mianda is the perfect location not only to relax but also to discover the treasures of the Lanzo Valleys, close to the chain of the Graian Alps and a few tens of km from mountain resorts such as Usseglio - Pian Benot and Balme - Pian della Mussa, destinations perfect both in winter for skiing or having fun in the snow, and in spring-summer for excursions through the numerous CAI trails that are rich in this area. During our stay we found up to 2 meters of snow in the Pian della Mussa and Pian Benot areas where we spent some fun days among snowshoeing and bobsled. We also savored Piedmontese cuisine thanks to the trattorias, taverns and restaurants scattered in the beautiful villages of the three Lanzo valleys and we were lulled by the attentions of Federica and Marcella who offered us all their hospitality and availability in meeting our needs. We will certainly return to the Mianda even in summer, to enjoy another relaxing and exciting holiday in the midst of the unspoiled nature of these beautiful areas.”
