Revamped Minimalist Stone Country House

Nestled on the foot of mount Giouchtas, in the picturesque village of Archanes, our stone countryhouse is located in one of the most central and beautiful parts of the area. Archanes are 20 minutes away from the centre of Heraklion(15km), 15 minutes away from Heraklion's International airport, 15 minutes away from the famous Minoan palace of Knossos, as well as 20 minutes away from numerous beautiful beaches. Situated in the center of the most important wine-producing region of Crete, it has a 5000 years old history, while excavations conducted in the last 50 years have brought to light a lot of sites dating back to the Minoan period. The village is also very famous for its typical Cretan architecture. Most of the houses have been restored recently and Archanes has won the second award as “the best restored village in Europe”. The house enjoys a spacious interior and a private garden, which is protected by a peripheral wall. This is a typical characteristic of old Cretan houses of the area. Guests enter the private garden through the gate which then leads to the main building. I am always at the disposal of my guests, so that I can make their holiday problem-free. Furthermore, there is a free parking very close to the house. The country house is only 20’ away from the “Nikos Kazantzakis Airport” and the port. The archeological site of Knossos is 15’ away.

Villa "Athina"-Two Storey Stone House with View

Enjoy an exceptional stay experience, in perhaps one of the oldest, surviving two-storey manor house in the ancient settlement of Monastiraki. The architecture of villa Athina is based on the traditional aesthetics of Cretan culture and harmonizes perfectly with the natural landscape. On the ground floor there is the bathroom, the kitchen and the living room, which has a fireplace and is separated by a stone arch, and the bedroom (2 single beds) in which the rock, on which the manor house is built, can be seen. The internal wooden staircase leads us to another bedroom with a private bathroom. The accommodation has two independent large outdoor spaces with a wonderful view of the bay of Mirabello and the unique gorge of Ha. In the main outdoor area (courtyard), there is a traditional stone-built oven and a barbeque grill (wood or charcoal). In the hamlet of Monastiraki you can enjoy quiet walks in the picturesque lanes. The nearest village of Pachia Ammos is only 5 minutes away by car, where you can enjoy restaurants and cafes by sea view, also the towns of Ierapetra and Agios Nikolaos 15 and 20 minute s respectively. Our accommodation is open all year round and during the Winter months firewood is provided, upon request.

Yaya's cozy House with Herb Garden.

Yaya ‘s (grandmother’s) house, is located on the main road of the village and is easily accessible by car, with FREE parking on the street, within a short distance from the house. The house is 60 square meters (m²) with a mezzanine 20 m². There is a yard outside, where a beautiful path will lead you to the herbal garden and a great view of the mountains, where you can spend a lot of time smelling different types of herbs.
