Katouni Bridge Villa

Kythira is a paradise. The island where the Goddess of love, Aphrodite, spawned from the shores of Paliopoli and where Paris and Helen escaped from Sparta and were married. Katouni is a smaller village of Livadi, connected to it by the famous Katouni Bridge - built by the British during occupation, as the general fell in love with a girl on the other side. Our house is an oasis within an island of natural beauty, with views compared to Tuscany. Katouni is the birthplace of my grandfather.

The Stone House Retreat is one of those places where the building seems to grow from the earth rather than sit upon it. Thick walls hold the cool of morning through the heat of day, a double bed fills the main room with quiet purpose, and the terrace frames a view of olive groves rolling down to sea.
