Clifden, The Barn on the Wild Atlantic Way.
The Barn is a unique old stone barn but modern, with an open plan sitting/kitchen/ eating area with cathedral ceiling and a long narrow window overlooking the Salt Lake to one side, a small window looking down to the sea on the other. There are two bedrooms and a wet room style bathroom (no bathtub) but plenty of hot water and underfloor heating. It is wonderfully quiet, a real retreat for those who just want to escape. Hill View House
This is a beautiful newly refurbished two bedroom attached house with panoramic mountain views. Maméan Hike is a 5 minute drive away. Recess is a 15 minute drive away with Joyce's Bar serving food and drink and a has a craft shop also. It is also the home of the Connemara Giant. Kylemore Abbey and Letterfrack are a 20 minute drive away where you can explore local history and take a hike on Diamond Hill. Clifden is a 30 min drive which has shops, cafes, traditional pubs and music.
