Edinburgh is 20 minutes drive or you can use Prestonpans train station to get to the city (10 min). Perfect location for golfing with Gullane, North Berwick, Reneisannce, archerfield, Craigielaw, Kilspindie and Longniddry on doorstep or pop to St Andrew in around 90 min (drive) Glenkinchie whisky distillery is also local to pop up to for a tour (10 min). 1 x dbl bed & 1 x dbl sofa bed

Highfield cottage is a stone-built house on a hill at Hillhouse Farm Escapes in the Scottish Borders. This old shepherd's house is renovated to a modern & cosy standard. It has a superb kitchen with range cooker and large dining table, a huge lounge and two generous bedrooms (one is en-suite). Best of all is the stunning rural location with incredible views. It's an easy one-mile walk to a pub. Dog friendly. The house next door, a Little House on the Hill (Herniecleugh), is also available.

Dating back to 1909, and only 9 miles from Edinburgh, this cosy 2 bedroom fisherman's flat has spectacular far-reaching sea views. A perfect base for golfers, families and walkers. Similar to other small fishing villages on the east coast of Scotland, fishing boats still work out of the harbour and can often been seen bringing back the catch from the windows of the flat. Restaurants, pubs, and a supermarket are within walking distance and buses regularly go into Edinburgh from the village.
