As the house is protected by the UNESCO World Heritage Site inscription, its structure and facade had to be maintained, which we were happy to do. An unusually awesome & modern duplex apartment in a shophouse for 1-4 persons. It's a rare unit, and the price actually reflects the high cost of electricity in Malaysia. IMPORTANT: 1. There are 2+1 flights of stairs to the Loft unit and loft inside. 2. This is a traditional house. Don't expect a modern hotel. You have to turn off a/c when going out, fiddle with padlocks, and practise recycling of cans, glass, plastic and paper, take out wet rubbish nightly.

Teratak Sekuchi

Teratak Sekuchi is a semi-traditional timber house by the South China Sea. Originally built in KT town, it was relocated in 2007 to Mengabang Telipot, a typical fishing village. Furnished mainly with old wooden furniture and local decorations, it offers a taste of coastal village living with basic modern comforts. There’s no wifi, TV or air-cond. Strictly for private (non commercial) use only by max 6 (+2 y.o) people.
