"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs with no privacy.

This cottage is located in the heart of the bustling and pittoreske Langweer. The village has a wide selection of restaurants, cozy bars, bakery, butcher and supermarket. In the spring and autumn, peace seekers will find something to their liking. During the summer season, Langweer is ideal for water sports enthusiasts. In the middle of the Frisian Lakes area, the cottage is the ideal base. Directly on the water with its own mooring (6 meters). But also for those who like to cycle or hike, this is the ideal vacation spot!

Half tucked away among the trees, and a view over the meadows is Huisje Eenvoud. Because of this unique location you will stay completely in nature. With private garden, and various seating areas, you can relax here! A forest walk starts here at the front door, also by bike, you can enjoy narrow sling paths through picturesque villages and Frisian lakes! if you come with children, the cottage is ideal,there is a children's room with bunk bed. Outside, the sandbox,swing,trampoline and bicycles are ready!

Direct to the Fluessen - free from 19 June 1926

Our house on the Koggeplaet in Elahuizen has a beautiful unobstructed view over de Fluessen, with a lake terrace. Also there is a terrace on the harbor and a sheltered seating area! Our house is in the middle of the water sports area of Friesland. A beautiful place for boating, swimming, cycling, hiking or skating! Golf course and forest are close by! In June, July, August, and September, we rent our house per week/ several weeks. Arrival and departure on Fridays. Other wishes? Let us know!
