Many activities in the area such as snowmobiling, glacier jeeps and glacier walk adventure on Europe´s largest glacier, kayaking, puffins tours, boat tours, ice cave tours (winter) and horseback riding. It's on the south side of the lake on the way to Hallormsstaður the biggest forest in Iceland. The next grocery store is in Egilsstaðir. Good paved road, passable all the year. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful landscape, nice hiking trails down to the lake or up to the hills, good place to see the northern lights in wintertime.
