  • We had a great stay in the castle! What a unique place to spend a few nights and it was quiet and private. We loved spending our evenings in front of the wood burning stove and it wasn’t too far from town or the National park. Would definitely recommend it:)

  • Junie's was wonderful! It was easy to find and beautiful to look at. It is definitely a bit chilly in the evenings, so bring warm pajamas and be ready to tend the fire. Junie was really helpful and welcomed us with a fire and recommendations for dinner. I would absolutely recommend this spot!

The house is provided with full breakfast and everything that you need. Lovely fireplace and comfy beds. It’s a different experience and it’s really worthy. Sit back and enjoy breathtaking ever-changing views of the magnificent hills,large pond, natural gardens, Red Kites in the sky... If you wish to explore the beautiful county we are only 1 mile away from famous Meeting of the Water, and only 4 miles from the village of Avoca. Only 25mins from Glendalough and Wicklow mountain National park will keep you busy.
    The most appealing aspect of the cabin is the views. Situated on 4 acres it will give you a space, but you will not be far from wild and farm animals.. The Happy place Cabin was designed and built by local craftsman to enhance the peaceful surroundings. The cabin has to offer a large bedroom (double bed), brand new Shower-room, all linen and towels included, please note that its takes 25 minutes for water to heat between showers. The heart of the cabin is definitely in the kitchen-living area, it's high ceiling, white walls and wooden beams, wood burning stove make it the ideal place to relax and enjoy. There is a sofa bed in the room which sleeps 2 children comfortably .Bedroom opening onto a deck with stunning views of Wickow hills.. Perfect place to sit back in the the evening sunshine with a lovely cup of tea and a book. There's outdoor seating dotted around the garden and the pond, aimed to encourage guest's enjoyment of watching the Red kites soar in the air, or simply to enjoy the beautiful colors of the gardens. Breakfast basket filled with fresh eggs from our hens, traditional brown soda bread, butter and home made jams from our fruit garden and milk. There is a basic kitchen with Tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge and cooking facilities 4 electric hobs, oven, toaster , microwave , dishwasher pots and pans. There is a secluded rustic outdoor barbecue area beside the stream for the guests to enjoy, please bring your own charcoal. A car is a must to make the most of our local amenities. The roads surrounding the Lodge are narrow & wild with greenery, hence we don't recommend walking the the local areas. Check-in from 2 pm Check-out before 12pm. Please let us know your estimated arrival time, if you can. Please check prices as we do have some special deals or last minute price drops. We are happy to see children around but their will have to be supervised at all the time as there is deep fish pond and the stream close to the cabin.

Explore the Avondale Arboretum with the Avonmore river flowing down from the Wicklow National Park.ty 30 minute drive will bring you to the sands of Brittas bay or the monastic city of Glendalough. The Wicklow Way & Lugnaquilla mountain are some of the nearby hiking highlights. And not to forget the beautiful Avondale Forest is 10 min drive. Perfect place for garden lovers - Kilmacurragh Arboretum managed by the National Botanic Gardens 15 min away too. The Clara Lara Funpark and Greenane Maze and Farm Museum are great for adults and children.

  • Killian and Jurgitas place is a lovely relaxing spot close to so many walking/cycling routes in Wicklow. The cabin is extremely cosy with the fire lighting on our arrival and everything we needed to cook some dinner. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing/outdoorsie break. Lots of cute added touches in the cabin and Killian and Jurgita were really welcoming with lots of knowledge of the area. 👌

    Wake up to the sound of the birds ! Breath the fresh air and recharge the batteries. The chalet is bright and welcoming and has all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It has an Off -Street private car park and lovely secluded garden with seating and Barbecue area. It is within walking distance to Arklow town and a short car or bus journey to all the Attractions that Co Wicklow has to offer. Whether it be hill walking, cycling, sight seeing, sandy beaches, culinary delights or just a night or 2 away to relax this place is a great base for it all.
    The Chalet is a luxurious all timber fully insulated log cabin. It has a master bedroom, toddler bedroom, lounge, kitchen area and bathroom. It is fitted out with all mod cons including a Triton power shower in the bathroom. Washing machine, fridge freezer, hob and oven in the kitchen and a gas fire in the lounge . There is also free Wi Fi and a 32 inch flat screen smart tv with cable connection. Outside in the garden you will find a private seating area to the back of the cabin. Here you can totally relax and get away from it all and maybe get the Barbecue on and have a drink or two ! There is endless supply of logs for the log burner too !!
    Arklow town has a variety of shops and restaurants. The Bridgewater centre has a cinema, food court, and boutique shopping as well as the Arklow maritime museum. There are 2 golf courses in the area one in Arklow and one near by in Wooden bridge where you will also find the oldest hotel in Ireland! There are 3 beaches within 15 mins of Arklow. Silver strand , Brittas Bay , and Clogga strand are all within reach and well worth a visit. The famous Redcross and Avoca villages are just 5 mins away. Here you will find the traditional irish pub with music and great food and a brewery where you can sample the brew ! There are guided walking tours organised daily here and this is a great way to see this part of the garden county. Avondale house in Rathdrum is about 15 mins away. It is an old Edwardian house with great walks around the wooded grounds and cycle tracks too. Courtown is a seaside resort about 20 mins away. Here you will find a rescue seal sanctuary, swimming pool, amusement arcades, bowling, mini golf and adventure parks as well as a relaxing forest walk. The Lavander farm is also close by and well worth a visit for its beauty. There are 2 mini farms Kia ora and Tick Tock which are a fun day out ! The world renowned Glendalough is on our doorstep with its excellent hiking and cycling trails , amazing scenery and a chance to glimps the past of medieval Ireland . Roundwood village has the highest pub in Ireland and a Michelin star restaurant. It is an Irish village of immense character and well worth a visit. This is just a small sample of things to do around the area. You will find more ideas in our welcome pack when you arrive !!!

  • This cabin is absolutely beautiful. We travelled here myself, my partner and our little girl. The cabin has everything you could ask for and lots of space. It's very clean and even has toys in the room for children. The hosts are very nice and provide all and any information necessary but aren't at all over bearing. There is a lovely little fire pit the far side of the cabin to be used for guests also. We definitely hope to return in the future.

    Spacious, well equipped, authentic old stone cottage, ( circa 1640's). Two levels. Outside deck/patio area. Separate bedroom and bathroom area. Log stove.
    The location is remote, no street lights or passing traffic... The quietness at night is unique. The rising sun in the east over the Irish sea is clearly visible from the deck area. The stars at night are magnificent in the clear winter skies. We love the solitude and feeling of space the location provides.

  • If you have a chance to stay here, definitely do it! The views are spectacular and the cottage is absolutely perfect. Wildlife is all around - we loved watching the rabbits and ducks frolicking about. Caught sight of a fox and a number of pheasants. We were welcomed with some scones and jam and firewood for the night. Such a cost spot...we hope to stop in again, but next time stay longer...thank you Sanchia!

    Welcome to Woodenbridge... We are located in Ballycoogue, Woodenbridge, over looking the stunning Woodenbridge Golf Club.We are an hours drive from Dublin in off peak times, 10 minutes from Avoca, Aughrim and Annacurragh villages and a stones throw away from Clone House, Clonwilliam, Woodenbridge hotel and not too far from the Brooklodge and Ballybeg Country House. We are 25 minutes from Glendalough.
    This space has a very open feeling while being cosy with an stove. We are in the middle of the country and have very little traffic or noise. You wake up to the sound of the birds singing outside or the sounds of the cows chewing.The space has full height ceiling, the room is fitted with a stove for you to use when you feel the chill in the summer evenings The room has an ajoining bathroom with a walk in shower. There is a small kitchen area with a kettle, toaster, fridge freezer & egg cooker. We are a cycling family so you have access to bike washing facilities should you need them.
    There is plenty to do from the Avoca Handweavers to Glendalough Monastic site, all within easy reach. There are numerous walking trails on mountains for you to explore in the locality.

    The cottage has 1 double bedroom with the addition of a pull-out sofa bed in the living area. It has a large open space with kitchen/dining/living area. The kitchen has an oven and hob, a microwave, sink with hot water, kettle and toaster and Nespresso machine. Bathroom with electric shower. Tea and coffee provided. A travel cot can be provided with prior notice. TV & WiFi.
    There are many amenities close by including Avoca Woolen Mills-the home of the famous Avoca brand, Avondale House and Forest Park- home of the great Charles Stuart Parnell, Kilmacurragh Gardens, Mount Usher Gardens, Glendalough and Powerscourt to name but a few. For those who enjoy a round of golf, Woodenbridge, Macreddin and Coolattin Golf Courses are all within easy reach. The area is the perfect base for a hiking break with many hill walks and forest walks nearby. We are only minutes from the famous Wicklow Way. The ideal location to explore the East and South-East. While we are only an hour from Dublin we are only a couple of miles from Co. Wexford which boasts beautiful blue-flag beaches.
  • The perfect escape! My trip was a last minute decision to escape the city. The last minute nature of my trip was met with vey quick responses from Linda, which was so helpful. I wanted a quiet, relaxing space with nice scenery in which to work and write. Kilpipe Cottage delivered on all of the above. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the space was warm, very well presented, with all of the facilities you could want for your stay. For me, it was the perfect working space, with reliable WiFi and a space to work. Unfortunately, I did not have much opportunity to get out and explore the area, but am very much looking forward to returning to Kilpipe Cottage for leisure purposes. Highly recommend this place!

    Grasville Cottage Welcome to Grasville Cottage, our much loved and delightful cottage, nestled in a quiet valley close to the village of Avoca. Enjoy the tranquility from the minute you step through the door and allow yourself to relax and unwind while you settle into the slower pace offered by our charming home and the peaceful countryside of Co. Wicklow.
    Detached and set in a large garden, this charming, two-story cottage has all that you need for a relaxing stay. Downstairs, you'll find a fully equipped, open plan kitchen and dining area, a cosy living room with a wood burning stove plus a spacious, bright and airy conservatory with beautiful views to the garden and the valley beyond. There is also a reading room complete with a convertible futon-sleeper which can accommodate an additional person if needed. The master bedroom has its own en-suite with shower and holds a comfortable king-sized bed. Two single beds share the space in the cosier second bedroom. The main bathroom, with bathtub, can also be found upstairs. Outside, in the secluded, shrub and perennial-filled garden, there's lots of room to run and play for the younger guests, and the hammock and outdoor seating invites you to catch up on your much-needed lounging, sunning, bird-watching (Red Kites are frequently observed) or reading opportunities. The bbq is perfect for sunny cookouts on a pleasant summer evening. Spacious and safe off road parking is available.
    This sweet little cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful beaches, wild mountain walks, ancient historical sites, local craft breweries and the towns and villages of the sunny South East. A 15 minute walk leads you to Avoca village, the lovely Red Kite Walk and the original Avoca Handweavers Mill, store and cafe. You'll pass Fitzgerald's pub, Hendleys Fish & Chips (eat in or take away), Hendleys corner shop and the well-stocked local pharmacy along the way. The Woodenbridge Hotel - an excellent pub and restaurant - is only a five minute drive and is definitely worth a stop. Golfing, fishing and sailing opportunities can be found close by, and a number of historical houses and highly regarded botanical gardens are all within exploring distance. Arklow, with its multiple supermarkets and restaurants, quaint gift shops, well-stocked health food store and Omniplex Cinema, is a pleasant 15 minutes drive. You're a little over an hour to either Kilkenny or Wexford, an hour from Dublin, only 30 minutes from Glendalough and just 20 minutes from Brittas Bay.

    Set in the beautiful county of Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland, The Shire is located midway between the Villages of Aughrim and Tinahely, both of which have plenty to offer visitors. It is a perfect base for exploring all of County Wicklow’s tourist attractions. We are close to the Wedding venues of Ballybeg House, The Brooklodge Hotel at Macreddin and the Woodenbridge Hotel. For the golf enthusiast Coollattin, Woodenbridge and Macreddin golf clubs are close by. We are about 1 hour from Dublin.
    The Shire has one large bedroom with a double bed, lockers and wardrobes. There is a Daybed in the living area which extends to a double and sleeps 2. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, mircrowave, kettle, toaster, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. The bathroom has a power shower. The Living/Dining area is a large bright room with a roomy corner couch and the daybed, TV, Dining Table & chairs, breakfast bar and stools. Tea and coffee are provided. You will have the use of a large BBQ, the garden and plenty of parking. Alongside the building is a covered Veranda, which allows sitting out of an evening even if it is raining and you will have the use of picnic table and chairs from which you can enjoy the beautiful view. Travel cot can be provided and the use of a clothes dryer if required. We will be available for any help or requests you may have.
    The area is a great base for exploring the outdoors, with walks in the local woods and forests. Avondale House, Glendalough & the Lakes, The Greenane Maze, Kilmacurragh Gardens, Mount Usher, Avoca Woolen Mills all are nearby. Guided walks in the mountains can be arranged.

    Fox's Den is a sympathetically restored 19th century traditional Irish stone cottage where peace and privacy are guaranteed. Nestled on a hillside over looking Croghan Mountain - a short distance from Aughrim Village in "The Garden of Ireland" Inside this charming home you'll find two cosy bedrooms with double beds, but the heart of the cottage is definitely in the living area, it's stonewash white walls, granite fireplace and wood burning stove make it the ideal place to switch off and relax.
    Set off a private country lane close to Augrim village Fox's Den is over 200 years old. The cottage still maintains its pastoral heritage thanks to a recent restoration undertaken by it's owners. This ground up restoration has used local materials where possible such as the roof beams which are Japanese red larch sourced from a forest near-by. The fireplace and hearth have been painstakingly built by the current owner to using stone from the local quarry,which is complimented with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm as you settle in on those chilly evenings. The two charming and cosy bedrooms at Fox's Den have been generously furnished with fresh white linen on the beds and decorated with little details befitting the cottage and its era such as floral pillows, Irish lace and snug quilts. As the day draws to a close you can shut the curtains, turn on the fairy lights and light some candles to unwind and recharge your batteries. Should you wish to cook we have a fully equipped kitchen complete with all modern appliances, there is seating for 4 guests around the farmhouse table. You will find a brand new Shower-room, all linen and towels included. Laundry and ironing facilities adjacent the bathroom for your convenience. Breathtaking ever-changing views of the magnificent Croghan, a mountain which is over 2000ft in elevation are taken in from the cottage's front garden. Which is beautifully planted with flowers in bloom during the summer months, you can enjoy these views from the comfort of the 2 seater bench. We love our animals here and are proud to have a herd of rescue goats that just love attention, a chicken coop that provides the freshest of eggs for your breakfast, and our Horse ''OPEL'' and Donkey ''JACK'', who are all close by.     Fox's Den is located in Threewells Aughrim which is a small Village in County Wicklow, Ireland, just 80 minutes away from the centre of Dublin and Rosslare Europort. Aughrim lies in a scenic valley in the ancient east of Ireland where the Ow and Derry rivers meet to form the Aughrim river. Aughrim proudly won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 2007. There are a number of unusual granite terraced houses throughout the village, constructed - along with a forge. Aughrim was a granite mining village, and this material is widely used, giving the village a distinctive and coherent architecture.   • From a just practical standpoint, "Amaryllis Avenue" is a small flat with sleeping room and dining/living room and a small kitchen right at the door, offering cosy and quiet privacy just a few meters from the town centre. But from an emotional standpoint, it is probably one of the nicest (and most feminine) airbnbs we've ever been. Excellently kept with a miriad of little details that all matched each other perfectly. Including many well-cared flowers. As Aoife was on vacation, we were friendly welcomed by a lady that we guess was a friend of her. Upon arrival, there were was fresh fruit, some sweets, milk and cereals prepared for us. Just perfect in any way. We would be happy, if we would have the opportunity to return some day.

If it's hiking/biking, shooting/fishing, golfing/kayaking, rock climbing/,beaches, formal gardens/unspoilt nature, Historical houses or place everything is available to you. The Avonmore river is known World wide for it's fishing and kayaking. A short drive takes you to the National Stud - Japanese Gardens. We have Mount Usher Gardens, Avoca 9the Avoca Mines and Handweavers) endless golf clubs and lots more.
    Guests will be greeted on arrival. You will have unlimited access to the sitting/dining room. The open fire can be lit so you can relax in the evenings. Access to fridge, toaster, microwave tea and coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast provided. The bedroom is a bright colourful space with your own ensuite. Lock on bedroom door for privacy. There is an outside seating area. We have a secure space for bikes, golf clubs kayaks etc.
    For the bird lovers Red kites and Buzzards are regularly seen flying gracefully over the garden, The Avonmore river is a short walkfrom the house through Avondale House and Forest Park ideal for fishing and bird watching, Kingfishers are often seen and the Woodpecker will scenario you on your walk. For people interested in trees there are some very unusual varieties of tree walks in Avondale House and Forest Park. Also the National Botanical Gardens at Kilmacurragh have amazing rare and unique shrubs and plants this is only 10 kilometres from the house.

    A nice cosy room with double bed and large bathroom. On street parking outside house in quite cul-de-sac. Location - Derrybawn is situated in Aughrim which is a small village nestled South Wicklow mountains, with a large number of walks in local forests and surrounding hills which are very accessible. The area is great for cycling fishing and golfing. We are 5minutes away from Brook Lodge and 10minutes away from Ballybeg wedding venue. There is a farmers market on every Saturday.
    You have a double bed in your room with dressing table hanging space and small refreshment table. Breakfast is served in small breakfast room over looking garden and on mornings that's not too misty you can get a nice view of Croghan mountain beyond. Breakfast is self service but I am mostly always on hand if you need help. You can also bring a tray into your room if you so wish. Your breakfast consists of tea/coffee cereal toast and preserves. Your bathroom is next to your bedroom and very well stocked, it is shared only with other house guests. We are 10 minute walk from centre of the village from which we have shops, pubs, small hotel, and coffee shop. We are 20 minute drive from coast and 30 minute drive from Glendalough and the national park, and for the hill walkers we are approx. 3km.from the wicklow way. Although we have no public transport in the village we do have a good taxi service.

Annes house was only 10 mins from Ballybeg and Anne even gave me a lift to the wedding which was very helpful. The room was perfect, first room as you come into the house which is great so you needn't be intruding in the family home. The house itself was really beautiful, the room and bathroom was absolutely spotlessly clean, tea / coffee facilities in the room which was a bonus, great shower and comfy bed too :) I would highly recommend this property to anyone and would book again should I have the need.     Our lovely home is on the outskirts of Arklow, with the town centre being only 10 minutes walk away. We have a nice view of the sea from where we live and can walk to the beach in 5 minutes. The house is detached and has a big garden with lots of trees and shrubs. There is ample parking space outside. The house was built as a maritime cottage in 1950s and we are now modernising it for 21st century. It is well insulated and warm, with central heating and wood burning stove.
    Arklow is a lovely seaside town with lots of amenities, including good pubs and restaurants, lots of nice walks, shops, swimming pools, gyms, cinema. It is also close to lovely Wicklow mountains and beautiful rural villages and countryside.
  • A great place to stay over in Arklow. Feydor and Pat (and the cat!) made me feel really welcome. Room is a decent size with its own generously sized bathroom. Very quiet. Only a few minutes walk to the centre of Arklow and has off-street parking.

  • We had a lovely welcome from Mary & really enjoyed our three nights in the apartment. The kitchen has everything you might need with Mary providing a welcome pack of essentials to see you through the first night. The self-contained apartment was clean & warm; has a private fenced-in decked area with picnic table & lovely views to the mountains; a kitchen with hob & oven, an automatic washing machine, table & two chairs; shower room & spacious bedroom, but no chairs (so you do have to sit on the bed to relax & watch TV), whilst there's plenty of drive space outside to park your car. Aughrim village is approx 10 minute walk away to cafes, bars, shops & small supermarkets. It's a good location to reach Wicklow town, the mountains & coast with Dublin less than an hour away, so perfect for reaching the airport. The apartment is attached to Mary's home so there are the sounds of their life filtering through the walls & from the rooms above, whilst dogs in the next doors garden do bark. However, we certainly have no complaints & would recommend the accommodation as a great value place to stay.

    This room has two single beds and looks out onto family garden. It is down a flight of stairs as you come in through main entrance. It has hanging space table and chair, there is also a kettle and toaster in your room. Breakfast is served in small breakfast room upstairs and over looks garden and when it's not too misty there's a nice view of Croghan mountain beyond. Breakfast is self service but I'm mostly always on hand if you need any help. You can also take a tray into your room if you so wish. Your breakfast is continental and consists of tea/coffee, cereal toast with preserves. Your bathroom is upstairs and is shared with other house guests. There is also a second toilet downstairs and this one is next to your room and is also shared. We are a 10min walk from the centre of the village from which we have a small hotel a couple of pubs, shops, chemist, there is also a small restaurant, a Chinese takeaway plus Italian takeaway. Aughrim is a small village. We have a selection of good forest walks all within easy access and walking distance from our house. There is also a fishing lake in the village and on sat morning we have a farmers market here from where you can get fresh produce. This is also a good area for cycling and we have famous golfing course. We are 20mins drive from the coast and 30mins drive from Glendalough and National Park, and for the hill walkers we are approx. 3km. From Wicklow way. Unfortunately we don't have any public transport but we do have a good taxi service. We are 5mins drive from Brooklodge and 10mins drive away from Ballybeg wedding venue. We have a family television room and free wifi. We will do all that we can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

  • I made a mistake in my travel planning and arrived a day earlier than planned. Anne offered me a room immediately and uncomplicated. The rooms, shower, etc. were very clean and I immediately felt comfortable. There is a great breakfast with great views towards the Wicklow Mountains. For small money one is also driven to the next town and tips for bus trips, there are also hiking tours. Aughrim itself is a nice little town without much tourism and you are a part of life there. The people are friendly and you are in the pub directly into conversation. Tip: On Thursdays traditional Irish live music is always played. Highly recommended! The accommodation at Anne is highly recommended and I will gladly come back on my next trip.

    We are quiet People and very respectful of each other. There's a utility room with a washing machine and dryer. Our only pet (a Singing Husky) had to find her paws outside so the house is clean and neat and everyone cleans after themselves (toilets, kitchen and communal spaces). The house is 300 meters from the Gala shop and bus stop (to Dublin) at Templerainy. Coral Leisure Centre is a 10 min walk, Bridgewater Shopping Centre 14 mins walk and Arklow town centre 17 mins walk.

    With views over the valley, "Ananda" has its own woodland and stream and is perfectly situated for guests to explore beautiful places such as Avondale Forest Park, Glendalough, Glenmalure and Avoca. Stunning Brittas Bay is only 20 minutes away by car.
    Prior to August 2018 we offered guest accommodation in our family home "Whitebeam". However, we have just renovated a separate building close to the house as a new guesthouse. "Ananda", which is the Tibetan word for "bliss", is self-catering and completely separate from the original cottage which dates back to 1905. It boasts a luxurious sleigh bed for your comfort and has both electric heating and a wood-fired stove. The whole property is on a three acre site, two thirds of which is covered by mature woodland. A year-round stream flows through the trees. Drinking water comes from our own well. "Whitebeam" is home to three friendly dogs and our resident hens and geese who supply us with delicious organic eggs. There are two beehives situated in a secluded spot, well away from the house. We do not use herbicides or pesticides on our land, so please excuse the occasional weed!! We are fortunate to have buzzards and red kites overhead most days. We are also visited by many other species of bird including sparrowhawk, tree-creeper, goldfinch, bullfinch and Ireland's smallest bird, the goldcrest. The most recent species to be identified here is the Greater Spotted Woodpecker. This bird is still relatively rare in Ireland, only breeding here since 2006.
    Visitors really are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful scenic places to visit, for example the valley and lakes of Glendalough are less than 20 minutes drive away. The famous Avoca Handweavers offering delicious food and gifts is in the nearby village of Avoca.
  • Loved every second of staying here! John welcomed us in person, showed us around, and gave us delicious homemade bread and flapjacks (along with jam, organic eggs, and butter). The garden is beautiful. Everything is super close with a car, and this is an excellent location if you want to explore the nature of Wicklow. John also gave us a binder full of local tips and must-visit forests, restaurants, and more. Can't wait to be back again! :)

The property is located close to the sea (20 minutes) and the beautiful Glendalough in Wicklow National Park. Ideally located. the small house is fully equipped and was spotless! John and Madeleine bake organic bread and organic biscuits that really tasted great. In addition, you will find fresh eggs, butter, milk, jam, delicious espresso. So everything you need for a great breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, as in the hotel. Overall, 10 out of 10, we would like to come back.

A quiet haven, perfect for local walks, longer hikes in the mountains, tours of Wicklow or just to sit and enjoy the view.

All rooms have hardwood floors, built-in wardrobes, desks and washbasins, and share a large well-heated bathroom. The gallery-like sitting room features a panoramic picture window with valley views and original paintings by local artists. A separate dining area with a large country-style table adjoins a well-equipped kitchen. The house is situated in a colourful garden and is surrounded by secluded forest on three sides. Bird drama occurs daily in the bath and feeders outside the dining room window and red kites provide aerial excitement almost every evening! Squirrels, rabbits and deer are frequent visitors.     The house is a short stroll from historic Avoca village, filming location for the Ballykissangel television series and home of the world-famous Avoca Hand Weavers – the oldest woollen mill in Ireland. Numerous local walks are available from your doorstep, including forests walks, exploration of Victorian copper mines, walks along the Avoca River and miles and miles of winding country lanes. A little further afield are empty beaches, the spectacular grounds of Avondale House, the 6th century monastic settlement of Glendalough and the rugged wilderness of Glenmalure and the Wicklow Mountains. Avoca village features the Avoca Hand Weavers café, Fitzgerald’s pub, Hendley’s shop and Tara Hendley’s superb fish & chips.

    We are a 2minute drive to Coolgreany village where you will find a Shop, post office and a pub/bar to name a few. We are a 5minute drive to the town of Arklow and a 10minute drive to Gorey (recommended) which has ample supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars, boutiques/shopping etc. they cater for all your needs.

    Stunning four bedroom detached home set in a lovely cul-de-sac of just 16 homes. Would perfectly suit a family or a group. It’s location allows visitors to take full advantage of the town’s close proximity to the beautiful Glendalough famous for it’s walks. Also Ireland’s famous Brittas Bay beach is a mere few minutes’ drive away from the property. With the new motorway Arklow is now only a 40 min drive from Dublin meaning the property is also suitable for business commutes.

The Avonmore river is known World wide for it's fishing and kayaking. A short drive takes you to the National Stud - Japanese Gardens. We have Mount Usher Gardens, Avoca (the Avoca Mines and Handweavers) endless golf clubs and lots more.
    Guests will be greeted on arrival. You will have unlimited access to the sitting/dining room. The open fire can be lit so you can relax in the evenings. Access to fridge, toaster, microwave tea and coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast provided. The bedroom is a bright colourful space. The main bathroom is next door and is shared with the Emerald Room. Lock on bedroom door for privacy. There is an outside seating area. We have a secure space for bikes, golf clubs kayaks etc.
    For the bird lovers Red kites and Buzzards are regularly seen flying gracefully over the garden, The Avonmore river is a short walkfrom the house through Avondale House and Forest Park ideal for fishing and bird watching, Kingfishers are often seen and the Woodpecker will scenario you on your walk. For people interested in trees there are some very unusual varieties of tree walks in Avondale House and Forest Park. Also the National Botanical Gardens at Kilmacurragh have amazing rare and unique shrubs and plants this is only 10 kilometres from the house.
  • This is a very beautiful location in the heart of Ireland's 'hidden gem' (Co. Wicklow). Glendalough is a national treasure but only one of many here. Tom & Miriam are kindly & generous hosts. Avonmore House is across the road and full of history also. Well worth a prolonged stay!

  • Our stay was perfect. We were met at the gate by their gorgeous dog and were warmly welcomed inside. The fire was there if we wanted it and the room was clean and cosy. We were provided with the most amazing breakfast with home made jams and fresh fruit. We enjoyed chatting to them and they provided tips on places to visit in the area. Would recommend this stay to anyone.

  • Everything was just perfect! The house is so beautiful and cozy and Miriam and Tom were so nice, that it felt like coming home. The living room was so comfy, that we almost fell asleep right there. There was also a small kitchen corner for us to use with a microwave and a fridge. The bed was so comfortable and everything was spotless clean. We would have loved to stay longer!

  • The landlord couple is very nice, and there is a very good dog, but the time we arrived by car is completely dark. According to the positioning and navigation, we did not find a location at the beginning, and the obstacles to understanding English words cost a lot. Setbacks! But thank you very much. The landlord and his wife drove us to meet us on the road. Thank you very much ~ The breakfast was great and rich, thank you!

  • The accommodation with Miriam and Tom was fantastic. We had a lovely stay while travelling through the Wicklow Mountains. The beds were comfortable, the room warm (while it was freezing outside) and the hospitality great! The communal lounge area was perfect for relaxing and warming up our dinner. The continental breakfast was just what we needed and prepared with love and care. There are paths around the area for a jog if you feel adventurous. Get away from town and stay in this fantastic nature surrounded area.

    Hillside Cottage in the vale of Avoca is set in rolling hills. A rural retreat which is delightfully decorated and feels fresh and bright. This is a house in which people sleep exceptionally well because of the air and the silence. The house sleeps six. There’s two master-suites, each with its own dressing room and en-suite and another bedroom with single beds and pretty view to the garden. Your host Róisín will be just a phone call away.
    The house itself is charming and is set on majestic grounds. The garden is a special place. The vast lawn is surrounded by mature trees at the back that shelter the whole site. Steps lead down through the shrubbery onto a large patio where the lovely wooden table and chairs provide a very comfortable outdoor dining area. To the front of the house more lawn opens out to fantastic views down onto the green valley. Inside has been delightfully decorated (recently) and feels fresh and bright. Light the fire and feel so cosy you won’t know what’s hit you. This is a house in which people sleep exceptionally well because of the air and the silence. Each bedroom has black-out curtains and very comfortable beds and we only use 100% Cotton sheets. The kitchen and utility room is well stocked for all your cooking needs. The house sleeps six. There’s two master-suites, each with its own dressing room and en-suite and another cute bedroom with two comfortable single beds and pretty view to the garden. There is a travel cot if needed for a little one. Three showers in the house, no bath. We have WiFi of course but please don’t expect an all-mod-cons type of place, our TV is small and not in anyway “smart” with the Freeview channels and a great selection of movies on DVD there’s plenty of entertainment. We’ve gone for charm and authenticity, cleanliness and comfort rather than flash. There is an interesting selection of art books and some nice art in the house. So welcome to Hillside, our little piece of heaven, a fairyhouse for you to have a fairytale holiday in.

The perfect rural retreat, yet exceptionally well connected to bustling local towns, picturesque villages and historic sites and in 50 minutes you can be in Dublin. There’s too many local attractions to mention and I don’t want to bore you, but I must tell you we are a five minute drive to the magnificent and world famous, Wooden Bridge Golf Course and only five minutes to The Meeting of the Waters, where the Avonmore and Avonbeg rivers come together to form the Avoca River.

  • Wow when I think romantic getaway cottage this is the place I've envisioned.roisin greeted us warmly (even though we were a bit late because we got lost). and showed us around the home. The closets in the bedrooms are gorgeous walk in closets with bathrooms attached. The outside atrium was a gorgeous place to have a cup of tea in the morning. If it's chilly just use the small portable heater provided. Even though it was a little cold when we arrived she showed us how to start a fire to warm up the living room. The location for me was fantastic because we were looking for somewhere to unwind.i would recommend having a car just to have more access to bigger cities like Dublin. Or be able to drive to Tesco Which is like 10 15 min away. There was ample parking. And the house had everything I could want on a romantic week getaway. Would definitely stay here again.

Really well located just outside the village of Avoca close to the avoca mill cafe for coffee and snacks and it took us about 25 mins to drive to Brittas Bay. Open fire in the evenings made it very cosy, comfy beds.
