The village of Waltham on the Wolds boasts a delicatessen, village shop and popular pub. There are many picturesque villages close to Waltham with many places to eat including fine dining. We will be happy to recommend some of our favourites.
  • The location is stunning, Andy was very welcoming and the house beautiful, spotless and cosy. We had a pie making experience day in Melton Mowbray and turned it into a lovely, relaxing weekend.

  • We stayed here for our wedding night. Andy was so helpful! He went above and beyond to accommodate us! We had a wonderful couple of nights. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

  • Staying at Andy and Lisa's place was a truly unique experience. First of all, the place is stunning and totally unusual, beautiful and stylish. There are the little gestures as well like fresh fruit and fresh bread, good supply of toiletries and fluffy towels, attention to detail throughout. Then there is Andy. What can I say? Genuinely kind and generous, truly helpful and out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible, making you feel at ease right away, and smiling no matter what. I hadn't felt that welcome in a long time, thank you Andy. I totally recommend staying at Hall Farm, even in pouring rain and windy days.

There are a good selection of local gastro pubs and restaurants nearby, including the Nag's Head, Rose and Crown, Chequer's Inn, the Wheel and the Michelin starred John's House. • It's an absolutely lovely place! All you need to feel welcome in a wonderful spot. The local village is very friendly. My partner and I only had one night there, but the first question on leaving was, "Can't we stay longer?" Super easy and smooth check in/out. Rosalyn was really helpful and nice, but the space has the exact amount of privacy you could want.

    Laurence2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay for a break to explore the surrounding villages and small towns. The room is quiet, private and very cosy. The facilities are brilliant - there is a superb TV with all streaming channels and the Wifi works very well. Rosalyn and Nik are great hosts -quick, effective communications and they make sure that you are comfortable with all that you need. Very highly recommended!

  • Rosalyn's place is a wonderful spot that is spotlessly clean, stylish and cozy. Everything I needed was to hand, the village is a gorgeous base to explore from and the views over the little valley are fantastic. Lovely and quiet, fantastic host, some very cute cats wondering around and overall highly recommended. I was there for work but I would come back just to chill.

  • Amazing place!! Absolutely amazing! X

    Sujay2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sue offered me a very warm welcome, she really cares for her guests' comfort and specific needs. The studio is well equipped, with simple yet beautiful and well made furniture. I loved the comfy bed with the sky light just above it, I had the moon on my pillow. Although the kitchen doesn't allow for cooking, it has a microwave, toaster and kettle, and, with a bit of planning, one can easily eat in. The space is very silent, which made it perfect for some regeneration time.

  • A great base for a weekend stay exploring the Vale of Belvoir; lovely country walks are on your doorstep and there are many pretty villages and good pubs but a short drive away. We have a lovely room available in our home. There is a very comfortable double bed, bedside tables and a single wardrobe, tea/coffee making facilities. The private bathroom is near the bedroom. It has a bath but doesn't have a shower. Parking is available on the drive. A light continental breakfast is included.
The room is lovely and in an ideal location for exploring all that this area has to offer. There is a pub in the village which is great to walk to, you can even walk to a pub in another village! We are ideally located for Weddings and Events in the Vale of Belvoir - Langar Hall and Belvoir Castle, Bingham, Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, Melton Mowbray and surrounding area. Also we are a couple of miles from Langar so ideal for skydivers, we can see them from our garden! There is a private bathroom for guests sole use next to the bedroom, there is a bath, but NO shower. A light continental breakfast is included.
Harby is a village located for easy travel to Grantham, Nottingham and Leicester. There is a pub called The Nag's Head which serves food. There is also a shop/post office which sells everything you can think of. There is a café which is open every day except Sunday and a fuel station too!
  • Excellent no other word needed

    Lisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Rose Cottage. The hosts are welcoming and very hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble. The only slight drawback for some guests may be that the bathroom is not en-suite and does not have a shower, though it is exclusively for guests use.(I understand that there are plans for the future.) There was a variety of toiletries available even including a calming bath oil, though this may not be necessary as the room is very quiet and away from the little used country road. In the room , which was beautifully furnished and cosy, there was a full compliment of teas, coffees etc and biscuits. I was offered a huge choice of continental breakfast items in the morning which were served at a time to suit me. A really enjoyable overnight stay .

  • Lovely welcoming cottage. Cosy room

  • Susan's place is a charming cottage in the Vale of Belvoir. Susan provides a beautiful, friendly and relaxing place to stay in the Vale of Belvoir, away from the hustle and bustle of town or city life. The breakfast was wonderful, and armed with a list of places to visit in the surrounding area provided by Susan we spent a happy time exploring and walking, with pit stops at local pubs and eateries. The Nags Head in Harby is within walking distance, which provides meals in the historic pub and a great place for a nightcap and to enjoy the atmosphere of a village pub.

  • Semi-detached house on the eastern edge of town. Nicely furnished with open fire in living room and wood burner in kitchen/diner. Very clean with modern decor and furnishings. Quiet location. Great base for exploring the surrounding area.

    Chris2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley's house is welcoming, clean and has everything you need. Perfectly located as our base for seeing friends and family, plenty of space both internally and also in the garden. We would definitely return and recommended to others.

    Claire2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley’s place was fantastic for our one night stay for a nearby wedding reception. It was pleasantly spacious for the four adults and one child staying. It was incredibly styled and had lovely touches that made it feel cosy and enjoyable. If ever in the area again, I wouldn’t even bother looking for somewhere else to stay as this far exceeded my expectations. Fantastic hospitality and communication as well.

    Emily2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do Ashley’s home justice. The house is huge, homely and has lovely little touches. It was immaculately clean with a great outdoor garden area. Ashley was very quick to respond to my questions and communication was excellent throughout! Would definitely recommend to others who visit Leicestershire. Thank you 10/10

This converted loft provides an ideal location for a stop over or short break. A private entrance leads upstairs to a double bedroom and separate shower. Situated in a private court yard with parking. Guests are invited to enjoy the gardens of the farmhouse. The local village pub serves high quality food and there many interesting places to visit including the local town of Melton Mowbray, famous for its Pork Pies or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the village.
The property is quirky but sadly, not suitable for anyone unable to climb stairs.
Belvior Castle and the beautiful market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford are close by. Rutland Water is a twenty five minute drive away, Hollwell nature reserve is within walking distance and fantastic local country inns and pubs are in plentiful supply!

  • Lovely cosy cottage which was very well equipped. Dan and Felicity were so friendly and welcoming. They had decorated the cottage beautifully for Xmas and added some very useful goodies. I highly recommend this cottage for a cosy stay in Leicestershire.

  • We enjoyed a lovely stay in a fantastic cottage. It was sparklingly clean and far more spacious than we expected. We really appreciated the little bits Dan left for us such as coffee, cookies, bread, milk etc... they went down very well!! The tips for local attractions and restaurants really helped us to make our mind up on what to do in an area we aren’t too familiar with. Dan was always helpful and quick in replying to any message we sent to him before our stay and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in a marvellous part of the country in a equally marvellous cottage. Thank you.

Cosy, old stone country cottage with every modern comfort surrounded by uninterrupted & breathtaking views. This completely private annexe to our home is 3 miles from Belvoir Castle. With miles of tracks, footpaths, disused railways, canal & cycle routes, this is great country to explore for all ages both on & off tarmac, on foot, bike or car. It's also well serviced with many excellent village pubs. Our local, The Wheel Inn in Branston, is 1/2 mile away or a short walk across track & fields.
The cosy sitting room has a log burning stove for cold evenings. Logs, sticks and firelighters are supplied. There is a 42" TV and ample seating on two comfortable sofas. There is a desk and power sockets under the window which looks out on to stunning views. Wifi throughout the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. On the first floor, there is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The master bedroom looks out over trees and rolling pasture. The large twin room has ample storage. All the beds are especially comfortable and made up with duvets and best quality cotton sheets. There is a third bedroom with a large single bed which can be available by prior arrangement. There are two built-in wardrobes on the landing with hangers. The annexe is self-contained with its own entrance. There is separate parking for 2 cars and a stable for storing bicycles. A small garden is also available with a picnic bench. There is no barbecue. We are in a rural, very peaceful spot between two villages.
Belvoir Castle is three miles away. The house and gardens are often open to the public but please check their website for details. Next to the castle is The Engine Yard: a retail shopping village with restaurant, farm shop, garden centre, spa and other boutique shops. It is open 7 days a week and well worth a visit. Our nearest towns are Grantham, Melton, Oakham and Stamford. Other attractions include Easton Walled Garden, Belton House, Burghley House and Rutland Water.

The barn is next to our house and has parking at the end of the driveway. It is in a great location and it’s easy to access major routes from there. Inside there is a lounge area with an l-shaped sofa bed, a 55” smart tv and a multi fuel stove. There is a fully fitted kitchen with everything needed to cook with. • I would say in four years of using Airbnb this was the best place we have stayed. Location, communication and hospitality could not have been better. My partner and I strangely felt like we were home here, comfortable and welcome. I really hope we get a chance to come back. If you like beer the pub 200m down the road has about 10 rotating craft ales. It’s worth coming just for this.

    Ross2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is so well designed and comfy with everything you need. We stayed a week and were able to cook ourselves some evening meals and sit out on the patio enjoying the amazing view. Quiet cul de sac location close to country park, two lakes and a welcoming cafe. Large private driveway for easy parking. Friendly landlady who is Melton Mowbray born so can help with any local issues or information. Beautiful garden to relax in at the end of the day. Rooms can be rented on an individual basis. The owners accomadation on site .
I aim to provide a warm welcome and restful stay. I was born and bred in the area so happy to advice and suggest areas to visit and answer questions on local attractions.
This is a very quiet and friendly area. The house is about 200yds from the entrance to the country park, this is an ideal area to have a wander or just sit by the lake at the end of a busy day. The town centre is a short walk through the park. We have most of the large supermarkets in town as well as smaller local businesses

Formerly a stable block, the stone annex offers a double bedroom with King size bed, sitting room, bath with shower and kitchenette all renovated to a high standard. The warm and cosy annex is very comfortably furnished with a mixture of modern and antique furniture, crisp white bed linen and top quality bath towels and bath products. New Smart TV and Wifi.
The annex is within the grounds of Gorse Farm which has been our family home for 20 years. It is a domestic house not a working farm but we do have a large, friendly labradoodle and a cat which roam freely in the garden around the annex. We have several horses which may be in the stable yard next to the annex. Parking for your car will be on the edge of the village green just outside the gates of Gorse Farm and not on the drive itself.
Great rail links from Grantham (just over an hour to London Kings Cross) and just 14 minutes drive from A1. The closest shop and pub and deli are 1 mile away in Waltham on the wolds. There are lovely walks from the village and we will be very happy to recommend local places to eat and activities. Rutland Water is 26 minutes drive away and offers cycling, walking and water activities in summer. Belvoir Castle, Burghley House and Belton House are all within half and hour or so.
  • This is by far the best air B and B we have stayed in Crisp lovely sheets, very comfortable bed and really friendly and helpful host Lovely location in very pretty area

  • Super cozy little cottage. Comfy beds, warm inside, everything needed to cook at home, and a carpark space. Would recommend to anyone :)

  • Quaint little cottage, perfectly situated for visiting the local area - we visited Belton House, Nottingham, Calke Abbey and Woolsthorpe Manor. Warmly greeted by Nicola on arrival, she had provided milk, tea, coffee, wine and flowers which was a nice welcoming touch. Although the cottage is small, it has everything you need, even board games and dvds should you need them but we were lucky to have gorgeous weather during our stay so were out a lot! Nicola gave us suggestions for eating out and we visited the Rose & Crown in Hose twice for evening meals where we received a warm welcome and delicious food! We also had a good breakfast in the village deli, On The Sands, and were once again made to feel at home.

  • This is a great base for touring this area. Based in a rural village with a pub and shop a convenient walk away and many more pubs just a short drive away.

  • We really enjoyed our break at Long Clawson, it was the great location for us. We'd wanted to go into Nottingham plus visit Rutland Water whilst away and the cottage sits a relatively short drive between the two places. The added bonus was the local views of the Vale of Belvoir. Very beautiful countryside to explore. I would recommend an evening stroll down to Hose, the next village. The Rose and Crown there did a lovely meal - book ahead though as it gets busy. We had great communication from our hosts Nicola and Jonathan and were made very welcome. They'd thoughtfully left us a cake and a pint of milk (which came in very handy as we forgot to pick some up). Many thanks for the loan of your sweet cottage, it was perfect for us.

    Liz2019-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm and cosy stay. We really appreciated our bottle of wine on the first night, as we had forgotten to bring any. We visited Cadbury world, Belton House, Woolsthorpe and Bolsover. All fascinating in very different ways. Had meals at the pubs at Long Clawson and Hose, would thoroughly recommend! A great few days away!

    Gillian2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely stay and brilliant communication from Nicola from the outset. Highly recommended. Thanks!

Pathway House is quaint property in the village of Hose, which is in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir. I have one beautiful field facing bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and WIFI. The village pub and shop are a five minute walk from the house. The canal trail is about 15 - 20 minute walk depending on how fast you walk or a short bike ride away. The house is also only 15 minute drive from the town of Melton Mowbray, or 25 minute drive from Nottingham.
The bedroom has an incredibly comfortable double bed and has been refurbished to a high standard, along with an ensuite shower room. There are tea and fresh coffee making facilities along with a mini fridge and WIFI access. We have outdoor space for storing bicycles and plenty of on-road parking. If you are after some great walking routes, then I can give you some great recommendations. A simple breakfast of orange juice, bread, fruit& yoghurt will be complementary.Cooked breakfasts can be arranged for an additional fee by prior arrangement.
  • Teresa was a very kind and cheerful host. My room was cute and there were some lovely thoughtful little homely touches. Breakfast was great and Teresa had even been out to pick fresh blackberries for my muesli. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

    Riccardo2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa is extremely hospitable. Good communication before I arrived and quick response (I was a last minute booking). If you're walking the Grantham - Nottingham canal (as I was) then this place is the perfect halfway point. Nice room with countryside views and lots of little touches made it a great stay. I was even offered a Gin and Tonic on arrival!

  • A great stay at the Windmill. Comfortable little cottage, spotlessly clean. Small kitchen but very well designed - had just the right stuff for cooking without being over cluttered. Don’t make your own breakfasts though - the windmill tea room does a terrific fry up!

    Ally2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant, well presented B&B. A modern kitchen lounge and bedroom with on-suite shower and toilet etc. Friendly owners who were very helpful, even at antisocial hours. And all set in a location of outstanding natural beauty, adjacent to an ancient windmill. Handy on site restaurant too, and easy parking. I am likely to come again.

  • It was a delight to stay with Sue at the farm. There were so many extra thoughtful touches that made our stay so special. Home-made cake on out arrival, a delicious cooked breakfast with fresh bread and home-made jams. Sue thought of everything and the accommodation was extremely clean and very homely with teas and coffee in our room and toiletries in the bathroom. We would be very happy to stay there again and would highly recommend the farm.

  • We had a wonderful stay with Sue. The B&B is lovely, her attention to detail top notch and the breakfast is amazing! The space is large and private, there were three of us with the double bedroom downstairs and twin upstairs with a private living room and dining tables and chairs. It really felt like our own space which was lovely. Everything you need for a getaway and really lovely little touches. We really felt looked after and really enjoyed our stay. We also loved the two very friendly dogs! Thank you for having us Sue. We hope to be back if we’re in the area again. 5*. Highly recommend.

  • Sue is a great host and we had a perfect stay with her. Loved the attention to detail and would highly recommend.

  • The house was fantastic. Located about 10 families in the small village, surrounded by pastures, Susan family has 12 head of cattle, two dogs and several other chickens, ducks. House made very beautiful, Susan is the main part in a live, next to the downstairs living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and bedroom upstairs bathroom for guests staying, a small door separated between the main rooms, the backyard is their jeep and a variety of tools. Clean and tidy house giant, decoration and various utensils are very particular, over many children's toys, two bedrooms are both chocolate dessert and their own cakes, hearty breakfast to burst. We get up at midnight, in the yard to see the sky star. Morning stroll around, rural England full of air. Awesome experience!

Croxton Lodge and Curlews Nest are two properties, set in a courtyard, within private grounds on the Croxton Park Estate, close to Belvoir and the town of Grantham. These cottages sleep sixteen people in eight bedrooms, all with en-suites. Croxton Lodge and Curlews Nest are a wonderful base for both families and groups of friends. This property can be available for just 8 guests in Curlews Nest please send me a message for more information.
These two stunning cottages are set in a courtyard, surrounded by wonderful private grounds, on Croxton Park Estate, 1.6 miles from the village of Croxton Kerrial, in the heart of rural Leicestershire, four miles from Belvoir and Belvoir Castle and close to the market town of Grantham. Both of these superb holiday homes are to be booked together and each accommodate eight people, ideal for families and friends to enjoy what this area has to offer. As soon as you enter the courtyard parking area you will instantly relax and be able to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Set across from each other, you will find Croxton Lodge on the right and Curlews Nest on the left as you enter the courtyard. With an upside down layout, Croxton Lodge has the bedrooms, a shower room, games room and one of the sitting rooms on the ground floor and the sitting room and kitchen are on the first floor. This luxury property is accessed via external stone steps direct into the kitchen, which has a range cooker and then leads you through to the character sitting room with dining area, a bar area and a warming open fire. After a day out and about, or even after a long walk around the estate, there’s no better way to unwind then to get the open fire going and to pour a drink, whilst enjoying each others company. Continuing downstairs you will find another smaller sitting room, perfect as a place to spend time reading a good book in peace; this room also has doors that lead to a terrace overlooking the beautiful lake. The ground floor also contains a games room with a full-size snooker table and a shower room, and then it’s onto the bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities - a good night’s sleep is guaranteed. Within each room there’s tea and coffee making facilities, fluffy robes and three have TVs. Across the courtyard is Curlews Nest, a more modern property inside, but still with a sense of character and equally as luxurious. Set over two floors, you enter via a stable door into the light and airy open plan living area with three sets of open-tread stairs that lead you up to the first floor bedrooms with en-suites. The kitchen area has a Belfast sink, whilst the sitting area has comfy sofas. Two of the bedrooms have TVs and three have patio doors that open onto a private gravelled area. As with Croxton Lodge, within each bedroom there’s bath robes and tea and coffee facilities. Croxton Park Estate was originally an Abbey from the 12th century and then later, the early Dukes of Rutland used the estate to enjoy country sports, such as shooting and fishing. Both Croxton Lodge and Curlews Nest have been renovated by the current Duchess of Rutland. With a number of places to visit within reach, including Ponton Park Wood, Melton Mowbray, Stamford and the city of Lincoln, these two quality holiday homes are an ideal place to stay.
An ancient picturesque village in the Vale of Belvoir home to the stunning Belvoir Castle. The Vale itself is the home of Melton Mowbray pork pies, stilton cheese, superb pubs, fine local ales and fruit cordials. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful countryside and discover the fantastic food the region has to offer. Just one mile away, the village of Woolsthorpe located in a designated conservation area boasts evidence of medieval occupation and nestles alongside the River Devon on the border with Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The ancient market town of Grantham lies in the heart of Lincolnshire, between historic Lincoln and Stamford. The town is best known as the birthplace of former Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, and has a fine Gothic Guildhall and pretty riverside walks with adjacent water meadows and associated wildlife. There is a wide array of restaurants, tea rooms and pubs with plenty of scope for a shopping trip, along with many manor houses and walled gardens nearby to visit. Grantham is surrounded by rolling countryside and pretty woodland, with nearby Ponton Park Wood offering walks and lovely views across its forest and farmland. The city of Lincoln, Melton Mowbray and Stamford are all within easy reach and well worth a visit.
  • So we stayed here this weekend for my 30th birthday celebration, and what a fabulous time we all had. We were a group of mixed ages from 30 - 60 years old. The house is enormous and there is plenty of room for everyone. I especially liked the 2nd building which had a slightly more modern feel, high ceilings and exposed beams were beautiful. The decor is not for everybody but has a traditional hunting shooting theme, along with lots of memorabilia which was fantastic, including Michael Schumachers boiler suit on the wall! Had everything you needed to throw a party. The host provided dressing gowns, utensils, crockery etc and I don't remember anyone wanting for anything. The showers were cold in the morning for some reason, maybe this needs seeing to but other than that I cannot fault anything. The house was nicely decorated for Christmas which too was nice. Thank you for providing the venue for the best birthday!!

  • The accommodation and location was amazing. 14 of us stayed here for two nights for a hen weekend and we all had a great time. I had many questions before our arrival date and the hosts always answered them quickly. I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend away.

    Amy2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning place to go and relax with friends. So much to enjoy in the local countryside and all the interesting furniture and memorabilia inside. Fabulous hosts and organising team, already thinking of another excuse to go back!

    Jack2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely recommend if you want a weekend away with friends! The house is great and Phil was very accommodating! Thanks again for having us.

  • What an incredible place. We had a fantastic time. It was the perfect getaway place for our reunion. It had everything we needed and the little extra touches in terms of toiletries and mini fridges made it just perfect. The surrounding area was lovely and a fantastic location. We’d love to stay again sometime.

    Kerry2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect for our wedding party. The bride and bridesmaids got ready in the nest and groom and ushers in the lodge. Only slight down fall was the lodge was a shared kitchen and the dishwasher was a bit grubby so we washed pots by hand. Also struggled with enough plates/glasses/chairs for us all to eat in one lodge. Lots of positives though! Dressing gowns, toiletries, mini fridges in rooms, hospitality trays in each room. Good beds and linens. Very luxurious place and very individual in its decor which we loved. Felt like a retreat from the world which means it’s such a amazing place for a group reunion weekend. We would all definitely return for this, and may even do for our first wedding anniversary!

    Jessica Rose2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great communal space, amazing rural location for a special get together. Host lives on site for any issues, friendly and fun place to stay (we pre-warned vegetarian guests about taxidermy/hunting theme so it wasn’t too much of a shock for them!)

    Cheryl2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic, spacious property filled with character in a stunning, peaceful, lakeside location. We received a lovely welcome pack including croissants, milk and bread in addition to a large selection of toiletries/extras in the rooms, more than in most hotels. Each room also came complete with robes and a mini fridge which was very useful. Bedrooms were furnished to a high standard. The living area was large and full of taxidermy and interesting sports memorabilia. Not to everyone's taste but fascinating to look around the extensive collection. Unfortunately the small kitchen size did let it down slightly but not enough to put us off going again. The bar was a good facility! The outdoor space was fantastic. Lovely views over the lake and we enjoyed the BBQ facilities as well as drinks in the lakeside outdoor structure. This was a brilliant property for our reunion and I would highly recommend it (as long as the taxidermy lion and polar bear, amongst others, don't scare you off!).

  • A home from home. There was nothing I wished for. I was babysitting for my grandchild as my daughter was at a wedding. Sarah went out of her way to provide a baby bath, toys and even left the heating on permanent so we didn't get cold. Very kind and thoughtful. I could have stayed longer and would highly recommend visiting asap.

  • We stayed at Sarah's Airbnb when attending a wedding at Stapleford. It's a 5 minute walk from Stapleford's main buildings so was ideal for us when making our way back late at night/early in the morning! .. I would have liked to have spend more time in the apartment as it is lovely and would be really cosy in the winter! Sarah was a great host keeping good contact, and we checked in with no issues!

  • Sarah was a wonderful host, I was getting married in Stapleford Park and needed somewhere for my guests to stay. This was the perfect option as it was in walking distance to the Stapleford park and in my opinion matched the stunning location in looks and facilities. The room was massive with a separate kitchen and bathroom and a wonderful four post bed, a large living room space with super comfy sofas, 4k TV & high speed wifi. Sarah made sure we had all the necessary things you would need for a stay in the bathroom and kitchen and a lovely continental breakfast. Sarah went above and beyond with her flexibility with check in times as my guests had to get ready for my early wedding after a long drive and allowed them to check in early to get showered and ready. I would highly recommend a stay and you won't be disappointed with the space, the location, and the views that you wake up to. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and thanks for the wonder surprise gift for my wedding, it was very much appreciated!!

  • The most beautiful conversion in stunning surroundings. Fantastic host, lovely views, beautiful rooms and spotlessly clean. We were attending a wedding at Stapleford Park which is opposite the house so extremely convenient for us. The whole stay was great, would visit again and would highly recommend. Thank you so much!

  • A beautifully and sympathetically converted hayloft and dairy by Anna that boasts modern luxury juxtaposed with beautiful authentic character via original features and curios. A warm and comfortable property set in the idyllic grounds of Anna’s home. We were made to feel very welcomed and were encouraged to ask for anything else we may require to assist us in the duration of our stay. We will undoubtedly be booking here again.

Waltham House was built in 1929 by Toby Greenall, 2nd Baron Daresbury as a hunting lodge, it being situated in the famous Belvoir country. The house was built in the 'Arts and Crafts' style that was popularised by Edwin Lutyens and now is a combination of modernised communal area's with traditional paneled dining room and hall, providing the perfect mix of modern comfort with traditional period style.
The house is now the home of Toby Corbin-Greenall, Lord Daresbury's great-grandson, and his husband George. We have a total of 10 rooms with a maximum occupancy of 18 people. A mixture of single, twin and double and king size rooms are available with modern and traditional decoration, something to suit all tastes. The majority of the rooms in the main house have a sink in them and all have shared access to bathrooms and a new modern shower room.
Set in the vale of Belvoir, we have many exciting things to do in around the village of Waltham on the Wolds. Belvoir Castle is 10 minutes away with its stunning interiors, gardens and new Engine Yard shopping and dining experience. Melton Mowbray is a 5-minute drive, where Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe will supply you with just that! Colston Bassett (home of the famous Stilton) and Cropwell Bishop (home of the famous Beauvale cheese) are just down the road and offer a lovely drive through the vale with several outstanding pubs to visit on the way there and back! This is great cycling country so for those with exercise on the brain, there is no shortage of great road biking routes as well as wonderful long walks. We even have TwinLakes amusement park 5 minutes down the road which caters for all children from soft play to more exciting ride adventures. For the grown ups there is a pub in the village (10 min walk) and lots more in the surrounding area.
  • HUGE house with plenty of space for all guests with a great tennis court. George was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to large groups!

  • Amazing house! Huge! Had a lovely stay - thank you George

  • We had such a wonderful time at George and Toby’s house. The photos really don’t do it justice - it’s huge! The communal areas are perfect for large groups. The kitchen was amazingly stocked and had everything we needed. As the profile says - it combines modern and traditional styles but is still very homely and cozy - it was so nice to have open fires in all the downstairs rooms. We had children in our group and they also had the best time - there is so much space inside and out. They particularly liked looking at the horses and chickens which are kept nearby. George was also a fantastic host - a pleasure to deal with and the instructions he left were very detailed and clear.

  • Fantastic House, alot bigger than the photos. House is well maintained and perfect for a family/friends get together. Would highly recommend it.

  • Staying in George and Toby’s house was an incredible experience. The house itself is amazing, such a lovely mix of family history and modern life. George patiently answered my never ending questions, recommended an amazing caterer and pub and also met us at checkin to help us settle (and find our way around the house). I can not recommend staying here enough and I hope I’m able to return one day. Thanks again George and Toby!

  • This is a fantastic house both inside and out. It definitely has a wow factor and yet is really comfortable to stay in. A mixture of modern and traditional, the accommodation and living space was great for our gathering of families. All of the bedrooms were lovely and really comfortable. The weather wasn’t great when we were there yet there was plenty of living space to accommodate everyone for a day indoors and lovely to light the fires in the evening. The house was really well equipped and very clean. Outside was great, plenty of place to park, lovely garden and places to walk directly from the house. George was a great host answering my numerous queries before we arrived really promptly. He was there when we arrived, really welcoming and very relaxed about us taking over his home! I would highly recommend George and Toby’s place.

  • We had the most fantastic stay here, it is in the most beautiful location. We had everything we needed in the house, it was super clean and the breakfast provided covered everyone's needs.

  • Beautiful barn in a beautiful location. Hired for a quiet 30th Birthday stay after a day at Burghley Horse Trials with friends. Little touches like the breakfast hamper and fridge full of orange juice and milk was a lovely addition. Beds are lovely and comfortable and soft linens and fluffy bath towels gave that luxurious feel. The barn itself is within the owners grounds, with their house next door and stables surrounding but all kept very private and the barn is your own space for your stay. Highly recommend Sarah’s place!

  • Such a beautiful place, lovely hosts and a stunning location.

  • This is a beautiful barn and perfect space for a chilled weekend. We didn’t do any walks but there are loads around if you have time. The communal sofa area is upstairs with the stunning 4 poster bed, which for us was perfect as we had a very chilled but fun hen do, where we sat chatting, playing silly games and afternoon tea. There’s some nice places to go for dinner, lunch and brunch which Sarah kindly recommended, (like to add the Admiral Hornblower service was amazing even though there weren’t many staff on). Sarah kindly provided some taxi numbers too but get in quick with booking one as it’s a rural area they book up quickly at the weekends. This is the perfect place for a weekend away with a fire, walks and cosy evenings. Sarah’s hospitality was above and beyond what was expected too, with all the recommendations and providing us with some ice so we could have some cheeky G&Ts for when we returned from our dinner out. Thank you Sarah, you helped make the hen do the best it could be.

  • A real gem of an escape. A beautifully converted barn in a perfect location. A great base for exploring the local area. We recommend exploring the hotel opposite for a meal - we treated ourselves to breakfast there. The host had lots of excellent suggestions for places to eat. This isn’t the kind of place where you come and cook for yourself - as kitchen is small and more for B&B type stays but that suited us perfectly. Very cosy with the wood burner. A lovely gettaway.

  • Had a brilliant stay at the barn with my bridesmaids before my wedding at Stapleford Park. Sarah was a great host, really helpful and did everything possible to make the weekend run smoothly. The barn is lovely and finished to a high standard. I would definitely recommend this place.
